I finally figured out how to style Liam's new wig, and redid his face up last night. I'm so much happier with how he looks now!

The crow really looks amazing. I was kind of disappointed by the fox... I would have hoped they made him male as well since SOOM already had a female fox once. I'm curious to see how he looks like with his wig on ^^ Have you considered which colour it should have?

After a long absence, I have ordered the grey Heliot because nightmares are kind of my thing and teeth and grey skin and Heliot! I want to ask how the new body compares to the old body, though, because I am not really a fan of overly muscular bods...

Has anyone else noticed the colorshift the Soom Bronze seems to make in different lights? By lamp light after dark Liam photographs a gorgeous tan, but in the daylight he looks normal skin.

May I ask which resin you used? Normal skin tone? Since I think I found a cream white one and it actually was pretty white xD

Thank you . You could say I have taste for a variety of dolls ^-^. Hmm it's hard to chose between them but I would say Wolf based on the beautiful face of his, but Crow is also gorgeous and his fantasy parts I like a lot more than the Wolf parts. Well that's why I didn't mind getting just a normal body for Wolf . I need them both around that's for sure .

 

I'm about to order Dream Ripper Heliot's outfit for Kalar. Of course, I would prefer Dream Ripper Heliot himself, but his outfit will look very nice on Kalar : )

Yes, it can take that long. I think the production of the outfits starts when they know how many have been ordered.

I think I got the stringing issue for the feather wings figured out. It's raining so I'll have to write the how-to up later when I can take good photos, but it's not that difficult:

Follow aernath's instructions to string the upper ribbons through the shoulder joints and tie off inside the upper torso. Tie the lower ribbons tightly around the center elastic from underneath the upper torso, leave all the ribbon ends inside the torso, then string the lower torso and the rest of the body as usual.

No dangling ribbons! What little ribbon isn't inside the torso is completely hidden by the wings so they really do look "attached". It's even reasonably stable to pose the wings.

I joined a Heliot Dream Ripper split! I'm getting the head with faceup! Also ordered his lovely wig and outfit, and have some lovely purple pink eyes for him!

 

Yay! Glad you got the dangling ribbon thing aced! You did even better than I, by hiding the bottom ribbons as well! He looks terrific!

My Crow's been home for a couple of weeks now. He came with two left feet, so I did a swap with someone with two right feet, and well... I'm still having difficulties getting him to stand. Definitely needs some glue sueding.
In the meantime, this is his only photo so far. Poor guy.
Eyes and a wig, but no faceup or clothes yet.

I just received a Cuprit (black frost) today, and holy cow do I love this girl. She has a bit of gunk in one of her eyes from her original eyelashes being removed. Does anyone know how to get it out without ruining the eyeliner?

Get those really sharp tweezers (the ones they use for nail art, I think) and pick it off. That's the only way to do it safely. If a chunk of your eyeliner comes off, you might need to touch it up with acrylic.
She looks beautiful btw~ Are those makoeyes in her? They suit her really well~

Oh goodness, you guys have me all scared now. But I'll give it a shot and hope for the best. If it does mess up, it's in such a spot where it wouldn't be too bad to fix I think.

yuan_mdx: Thank you! And yes, they are Moon-020 in 14mm. It takes a bit of work to get them to light up, but they look very nice in photos once you do get that light right.

aernath & Arekushia: Thank you both! I adore her so impossibly much. (I may be swooning just a little bit...) I'm also glad I could spoil her with this biweekly outfit. I think it looks really nice on her. I just need to find some good shoes to match...

She remaind me a lot a Topaz, she is very beautifull, but i think its a Little plain to be a princess swan, only a feather wings... and the outfit dont remaind me a swan, meiby a greg princess?

I think they can put a duck legs and foots, or duck head, or wings arms or something like this.

 

In my opinion, the sculpt itself is simply beautiful. I like her a lot more than I liked the fox... Yet I agree with Kalisha, the outfit itself doesn't remind me on a swan at all. It is too straight and silky... For a swan, something maybe with a knee-long, wide bottom part with riffles or feathers would be nice. I mean, swans have feathers and the aren't exactly that straight that there is no volume in it, especially if the get fluffy. Somehow I have to think about Gwendolin of the game 'Odin's Sphere', she is a birdlike human and I like the solution they made with her hybridlike style. Maybe a extraordinairy tutu would have done the job, too? This is a dress that'd fit a dragon queen somehow more, maybe I got influenced too much by GoT xD

I wonder what's the deal with Siegfried and the black swan. Since it's a monthly doll and they mostly release man and woman in pairs, my guess would be either Siegfried to be released next or a male black swan. But then again, the black swan should be someone that looks exactly like the white swan @.@ I am confused... I would really like to know what their next release is >///<

 

Well I think Soom wasn't especially trying to make her look like a swan ^^; There are many references for the Swan Lake story, like an older anime, Barbie movie and The Swan Princess movie. In all of those Odette has a similar long dress and looks just like an ordinary human. So she's either completely human or completely swan. I think Soom might've gotten their inspiration from this kind of version, instead of the ballet version or actual wanting to create a swan princess that looks like a swan.

I like Odette a lot, she looks beautiful and if I collected fullset dolls, I'd definitely be all over her &#9829;

 

Oh yeah, I forgott that she is no hybrid but a pure human xD But then again, why the wings then? And will they release a petlike swan now? xDD Well, I would still say that there is something missing about her dress... But all in all you are right, she definitely is a beauty ^^ Do you know what exactly her measurments are? For example her height? ._.' Or can you go to every website and order a dress, as long as it is categorized for 60-65/woman? I mean, super gem should be something within that range, shouldn't it?

 

She is Super Gem so 65cm tall SGs are a bit tricky to find clothes for since they're larger than standard SDs. I've heard that some SD16, Luts Senior Delf and Dollmore Modell doll outfits fit. I sew the outfits for my girls myself, so I'm not that familiar with what clothes might fit. Soom has measurements on their site for the older SG bodies, but not the new ones for some reasons.

I was just thinking that Odette's swan crown would be nice (if I colored it black) since I have a character that's a black swan... Then BOOM HERE'S BLACK SWAN OUTFIT FOR YOUU!! I've been planning to sew a similar outfit for my Echo for months lol. I'm sure Soom has employed mind readers u_u

 

I'm so glad with Soom's current release. Although she is lovely she doesn't have the wow factor. Relieved!

I have to say though that I like the black swan outfit. I have Iplehouse Cocori's Black Swan so that'd go lovely together. I wonder if any of my Soom crew would like to be a ballerina.

 

I have to wonder if maybe Soom knows we have been buying lots of dolls lately and gave us a pretty but not wow doll so we can recover?

 

Lol, this black swan outfit... xD Exactly like we discussed before. Even though the skirt is a little short in my opinion (not too obsessed with ballerinas) it is by far better than her actual outfit >///< But somehow I still agree to whitewolf :/ Something is missing at her to make an actual wow-factor. I really love the story of swan lake to the extend of what I know (there are different versions it seems), but as character or representative of the swan, she doesn't do the job for me :/ Maybe it is this kind of bedroom-look on her face? I think the swan would be a little bit more lively or happy looking, smiling, something like that. They did such good and creative jobs on Alice/Red Queen or the Sweet Witch and all. The Odette seems so ordinairy for this role >< I am really curious what their next release will look like.. I bet Siegfried is next. Still waiting for the Little Mermaid-themed doll though u.û'' Wonder if they will ever do it xDD Centaurs have been dropped, too... It's a shame u.û Zinc was awesome, even if it is off-topic xD

 

I'm guessing that with such a plain Odette, just as there was such a plain Beauty, we'll end up with a really fancy Von Rothbart or Siegfried, just like we had a fancy Beast to go with Beauty.

Rather sad that Soom didn't go all the way and make ballet point feet. High heel feet are nice, but not what I'd expect for a doll that is based on a character from a ballet.

 

Ah, so they did do Swan Lake. A girl though and no real "swan parts" either. Not quite what I was hoping for. My pocketbook is happy!

The wings are nice if they do that as a separate offering later. I feel like I'm collecting feather wings here.

 

I really love those new high heel legs/feet. Wish my Soul Mate Cuprit had those kind of legs instead of taking off her flat feet then struggling to put on her heel feet. Seems like maybe Soom would add separate legs with flat feet too, but I did not see any in the drop down menu.

 

The high heel legs are a gift if you order the doll. Flat feet are also included.

 

Aw man Soom is really putting out what I want, but my Cuprit is my girl and I just can't get another Soom girl now even with layaway.

 

Imho Cuprit is a really special sculpt, and I like her better. Odette is really pretty, but you already have a special girl.

 

Thanks oriscany for reminding me of my special girl . Maybe Soom can make those heel legs as options parts for our ladies in the future. I know I would be itching to get a pair if they do.

 

Oh, I love the black swan outfit. But I have no one who can wear it.

I have to admit I am a bit diappointed in Soom's ability to have their NS resin be consistant. The Chrom head I just received is not pink like the 1 1/2 year old SG body I have. *sigh* It matches the body of my Feeple boy. :/

I decided to work on Kaji a bit. I am making a new wig, but duh. Forgot to make size allowance for the magnets for his horns.
Starting over now.

Hey guys, for you Obsidius owners - what size and type of eyes are you using for him? I just got a pair of 14mm glass eyes and they have such an awful gap and roll about in the socket, which doesn't fit them at all. I'm so bummed out right now!

 

My Obsidius has 14mm glass eyes from a Japanese artist. They fit him perfectly.

Are you sure you have 14mm, Lisel? If they're that loose, maybe the size was mismarked.

 

So I've been searching the Den, Soom, and Google for answers and nothing has turn up. So I'm going to ask here...

Just a quick question for those of you who are familiar with the SOOM fantasy feet... How do you string them on? When I got my Breccia, the fox feet were not strung on, and I didn't really think anything of it. Now, I'm finally sealing all the parts with MSC, and am approaching the blushing and re-string phase... but I have no idea how her feets stay on. I get the S hooks for the hands, but there's nothing for a hook to grasp on the feet.

Also, any particular glue for attaching the magnets in her ears suggestions? Seal before or after sealant?
