Yeah, This guy was definitely growing on me. Too bad not a good time on the budget when he was offered. Eventually I’d like to get another super gem guy.

I had two that were re-homed years ago as I had other priorities but I definitely love to keep checking back and seeing everyone’s eye candy and watch what soom releases every month.

 

ooooh, new site is looking good. Idealian still is separate, but you can see the latest item which is helpful since I rarely go there. wouldn't want to miss an updated Soom 51!

I finally got her named!!! I got another Beryl recently. I'm going with Bronwyn. It's the name of one of my Mom's fav book characters. Working out her character is going to be fun. She's not talking at all...

 

Does anyone here have the Soom Scutum bear feet and can tell me what size they are? I really wanna get them to put on my 71cm Luts guy, but his feet are a massive 9.5cm, and I'm afraid they'd be too small. ;o;

 

Hi everyone! I'm considering shelling a character as a Breccia and was hoping you guys could help me with a quick question. I tried the search but came out empty handed, sadly. You see, I've learned not to trust the listed measurements on any company's website, so I was hoping someone could confirm for me if the Super Gem ladies really are 59cm tall, and whether the fox legs add anything to their height or not. I'm hoping it'll be a similar case to my Loongsoul girl whose fox legs add about 2cm to her height, but it's hard to tell from company photos as they don't show both versions side by side. If anyone could help me with that, I'd really appreciate it!

 

59cm tall? all my SG girls are in the 65cm range, without fantasy parts. I'd be more willing to believe 69cm tall with fantasy parts than 59cm, but maybe I've missed something?

 

See, this is why I don't trust the company measurements They say 59cm on the website, but that seemed so short! Though my question remains for the fantasy parts then, because if she ends up at 69cm then that's the opposite problem, she becomes as tall as the doll I'm trying to reshell for being too tall Thank you!

 

The old site lists Supergem girls at 65cm.

 

She might end up too tall too then, if the fantasy parts add much to that. I was hoping she'd be 65cm with the fox legs already, if not a bit less. Guess I just can't win, haha.

I've got a Breccia, they are taller with their animal parts. They stand like a dream though!

 

I figured they'd be taller, I'm just trying to figure out how tall exactly, haha. That's great that she stands well though!

I found a blog post comparing two different Soom bodies and the more recent one was smaller (dare I say, matched the weird small measurements on the site?), so in theory the latest release of Breccia would be shorter than the older one, but I'm not completely sure.

 

That sounds about right to me! I don't have her with me or I'd measure her right now for ya

 

Would you estimate your Breccia is about 70cm tall, or shorter than that? Even without exact measurements, that might help solve the mystery already

I'm so glad to see so many fans of Soom! Ive handled the new bodies and love the joint updates but do they still make the older style bodies? I got some old Heliot hooves and need a body for a more tan fellow but the hooves don't work on the newer legs...

 

I don't think they do make the old bodies anymore : (

 

Oh darn... i will have to keep an eye out second hand though. But still, im loving the design of the newest bodies!

 

I have a question for owners of old-type and possibly yellowed bodies: I have a head that I might need to put on an old SG body. The only problem is that the head is in Volks normal skin which definitely does not match my SG Sabik or SG Saiph heads. So I'm just curious if the older (aka way older) ones would be a closer match or not.

 

Hmmm well if you mean color match, i can tell you that there's no consistency in the NS, i have about 10 Sooms in NS and they're each a slightly different shade, even those from a similar time can be more pink or more yellowy or more pale. This might be different in recent years but in the older Ns, it's hit or miss

 

Im excited that Onyx seems to be the next zodiac, I wonder what fantasy creature she will be?

Im guessing she is the zodiac based on the stars in the background and the dark theme of it, but maybe not since they name this release the Astrologist

I am crazy excited for Onyx. It's been a while since I've been Soomed this hard and I've only seen two pictures. She's one of the girls I feel doesn't get enough attention too. She's going to be stunning and put a big fat hole in my wallet, I just know it.

 

Onyx is always stunning and I'm excited that there's going to be more of them to admire.

She's up now! Not 100% as exciting as I thought, but I'm definitely ordering her as soon as I figure out what combination of things I want. I have to admit I'm pretty bummed that the extra type thigh isn't offered, I've been after exactly that for a while since the posing is so different. Like.. that really sucks.

Anyone else getting her?

EDIT: Getting the white skin open eye version. The elf head is tempting, but not what I'm looking for (did I just say that? xD I'm elf crazy)

Ooh, I'm soooo thinking of getting Onyx too. The open eyed, white skin one...with face up and outfit. I love everything about this girl. If I do get her, she'll be my first Super Gem .

 

I love the styling of Onyx...it reminds me so much of "Albin and The Witch". I've always wanted Albin. He looks perfect with teeth. Wish SOOM could offer her a male body. But then, I'm tight with funds and may not have afford it.

 

I can't wait to see the new Onyx too, if anyone gonna order her ofc .

I did it. Just bit the bullet and put her on layaway...when one layaway ends, I'm on to another...smh...oh this addiction, lol.

@marci12 Congratulation on your layaway! Though I didn't make any order but I just as excited as you are! About me ordering, well I can't for now, I only have enough for Jack since I have to travel to Thailand and Singapore soon so I have to be careful on my budget. Hi everyone! I recently purchased a SG Saiph head, but I need a bit of help that I couldn't find with the search bar. What size eyes do you guys use in her? Her eyes seem very small, but that could just be I'm not used to the smaller sizes anymore.

Secondly, do you guys know whether Soom sent out CoA's with these heads? For several reasons this head did not make its way to me with one, and some people seemed to get them with their heads and others not? It's a bit confusing....

If anyone could help me, it would be very much appreciated

 

I think she takes 14mm if you like a big iris, 12 if you want a bit more realistic--I think I had Sooms in her at 14mm and it was OK.
Pretty sure she came with a CoA, but I went and looked at my blog post and of course I didn't write it down--but I think that if I hadn't gotten one, I would have made a note that I didn't. Hasel bought her after a couple of months, as I recall.

@Chobittum My friend has the head from the head only release and said she came with the certificate and a manual, and that her eyes are 14mm like Fishcake said, but its better to get small iris 14mm instead of 14mm because the iris is big, and 12mm there are slight gapping/putty issues

Congratulations on getting Saiph, she's one of the beautiful Soom sculpts and hope they would release her one day, even if its the mecha angel version but on the idealian body

I also just noticed the schedule on the Gem's page, I like that they let you know which dolls are released for the month! Wish they would do that to their other lines too

Hi, I am new to Soom. I was looking at their homepage because I have a Supiadoll Sarah on a 65 Body, and my male SD (Ringdoll Rinku) is too small for her. So, the SuperGem Body is 68cm, maybe someone has a 65 Supia and could post pics of her with a Super Gem? Thank you

 

I don't have a Supia, but I have a hybrid that is 64 cm posed with a Soom Super Gem boy body--it sort of depends on the size of the heads if they will look good together:
Soom Male and Soom Female Together

 

I don't have a Supia girl either, but I do have a lot of comparison pics of the different Soom boy bodies. The original male Super Gem was 65cm tall.

Here is the original Super Gem (with a Switch head), the 2012 Super Gem, and the 2016 Super Gem, all in a row, left-to-right.



If you'd like, I can also take a picture of the 2016 Super Gem male with another company's 65cm female. I have a few EID girls, and they're 65cm tall. I could also take a pic with either the original or 2012 Super Gem female body. Just let me know!

I miss Soom's fantasy dolls so much. Fantasy feet or parts, not magnet horns or long nails. I love what they do with their human dolls, but still. Not everything can stay the same, but I miss them.
