Some people have restrung their Soom dolls so that the elastic crosses at the hips and goes through to the head. Perhaps your friend has done this?

Red Sonja came along on today's outing to the Legion of Honor, because if any of my dolls looks like a Pre-Raphaelite model, it's her. I was curious if anyone had experience hybridizing old fantasy Soom legs (from the original Super Gem body) on a new 2017 male Super Gem body? Does it fit?

I am have an incoming Albin, and want to give him some Euclase talons... there are currently some I am eyeballing but wanted to be sure that fit would work. I know the gray skin might be a little off, but I can airbrush it to match. Thanks in advance!

 

Lookie what I got I cleaned off his old faceup so I have plenty of work ahead of me. Now if the humidity and my energy will coincide I'll be working on him.

OH MY GOD.... this new Garnet release T__T I’m in love!!! I desperately need to get her outfit, it’s everything I’ve been wanting to see made for large girls, in particular my Breccia would rock it ;_; Soom so rarely releases new SG girls these days that I rarely even check their site anymore like I used to (even rereleases/modifications of older sculpts make me happy, rip) so this release is making me so extra excited lol;;;

I really like her, but there's one detail that's really annoying me to no end...
that heel feet part are included, but NOT the resin heel shoes. You have to actually KNOW that her 'heel feet' are more like stumps - they don't have toes and are glued into the shoes. No shoes, just stump high heel feet, yay

A friend of mine will make some pics of her stumps later, I'll post them here.

 

I actually believe she comes with normal flat and normal high heeled feets. (Or with the shoed stumps) They have no reason to sell her with just the stump feet without the shoes (not even as option). They never did and it doesn't make sense for you can't even buy the stump feet/ resin shoes as separate parts in the feet option. It's their way of saying she only comes with two sets of feet rather than three. And because she is pictured with the resin shoes feet it would make sense to put a warning if she isn't coming with the feet pictured which are the highheel parts.

 

There is a warning that the heels are not included. But selling those ugly feet with no shoes is terrible! The stump feet with shoes are available in the parts section but then you get an extra set of stump feet.

 

Again they do not mean the stump feet without the resin shoes on them. Why would they ??? They never did and have no reason. It doesn't make sense guys. They don't have the stump feet as separate option anywhere.

I asked on Q&A which heels are included and suggested they add a heeled foot choice if it was the stump feet.

 

It’s that the stump feet have never been sold independently without their accompanying resin shoes. I read the listing as being the actual whole heeled feet too; since the only reason for the clarification would be since they showed the resin half foot+shoe parts in the photoshoot (so she’s actually wearing shoes for the full body shots lol). Otherwise buyers would reasonably assume those would be part of her full set when they aren’t. (same as Prince Whitemare had said... but it feels hard to clarify when the naming of the two parts is so similiar ^^; ) Asking Soom directly is always the best way to be sure of course :3

Has anyone ordered only clothes from Soom in the past year or so without a doll in their order? There’s not a time estimate or anything on the item listing and I’m not so sure if the shipping wait for the clothes alone is comparable to the actual dolls anymore. Looking at the waiting room is pretty much all resin-inclusive orders that I can see from a glance... I can’t even remember how long it took the last time I did a clothes only order, and that would’ve been so long ago anyway the times may as well not even be the same anymore anyway. orz

the thing is Soom makes a difference between 'heel feet' and high heel feet'. You can buy both heel feet and high heel feet (with resin shoes) on their own, but Soom states explicitly on Garnets page "High heel feet part included / High heel parts are not included" which, for me, reads as "you get the stump foot but not the shoe".
Yes it doesn't make sense, but what else could they mean? They never did female high heel feet where the feet are actually usable without the resin heels :/

Clothes take 3 Months too.

(heeled from the base foot), but the photo is resin high heel feet (without toes)

That seems a bit silly, since normally the full set outfit is an option, and not including the feet + shoes means it's not possible to buy the fullset. She's pretty, but not for me

 

You can get the full set or just the outfit now. The feet with shoes are available in the parts section.

In any case, I’ve ordered the Garnet outfit as my birthday gift (which is just under a week away now)! Of course, it may not be in my hands for months, but it’s the knowing it will be eventually that counts, lol I was just so incredibly, incredibly thankful that the outfit’s being sold individually so I could get it ;u; I’ve been looking for a classy, princely-looking outfit with pants that my girls could wear but it’s been hard to find this kind of “masculine”-style clothing for girl dolls;;;; I also noticed when placing the order that my last direct Soom purchase was in 2015... 3 years ago, that’s much longer than it feels like it has been for me, considering most of my BJDs are from Soom ;_; wow....

Though, in light of this new order, I also felt motivated to work on one of my girl’s new yarn wigs hehe. She’s the one I had in mind when ordering this outfit because I like to dress her like a prince! (though her Cuprit girlfriend might end up stealing the outfit too lol, especially once I upgrade this girl’s body cause she probably won’t be able to wear her Soom clothes anymore then;; too bad) The wig’s still not quite finished or styled yet, but since there's no visible bald spots left I just had to snap a photo of her because I love her!! *u* SO here’s my cool dragon lady in progress, Rani! Curses for being so expensive...……..hope they include instructions on how to put it on, last time I got a outfit for my Cuprit and I had to be on their website just to see how to put it on! On second thought oh heck no not those loops for strings in the back of the shirt, my eyes are not as young anymore.

I was wondering about the feet too. I was soo happy when I saw a Garnet again. Missed out on the cyborg version (on my want list, don't think that body was ever offered again -sigh). I do like the tawny color option and that outfit. It's tempting. Wish the cyborg body was an option. Would get it in an instant if if was LOL!

I won't be getting him, but I will be getting all the clothing/accessories for my violet Garam. Glad to see the pale violet option again, it's so lovely in person.

 

Oh, god, that lavender outfit set is absolutely stunning! I have to see if there are any threads on Soom vs Luts bodies to see if it would fit one of my current boys.

 

I want everything! Romantic head, violet, horns, hooves, outfit. eyes.....my tawny Chalco Soulmate wants a fantasy man! (really...I'm not doing this for me)

Im intrigued by the pale violet skin color

Does anyone have one with that skin tone? I couldnt find on google or flickr or instagram I know that the only doll previously who have that skintone is Garam

maybe this one? It really is very pale almost white, if it is not already white?

Here's a list of special resin colors - with several light violet dolls sold over the years. Plus a link to a comparison photo by Soom of magenta with light violet which I think is a pretty good idea of how those colors look IRL.

Do you think Pale Violet and Light Violet is the same just different names?

In the list, Pale Violet only has Garam in it, and I did more digging and found more pictures of Garam in pale violet.. looks like its white with a purple undertone and not like the light violet color which imho is richer in color based on the pictures in the link you posted but maybe its lighting.

The similar names to me is confusing..

Donotfoxwithme says "The pale violet is subtle and exactly what I hoped it would be." He looks almost white to me, so I guess its just purple undertones.. still, an interesting color, like a moon creature I think. I wish they would offer jointed hands with that color, then it would be verrrrry tempting to me

 

I find this color interesting because it's the color I want my Volo dyed. Not as intense as the light violet she originally came in, just enough that the doll isn't pure white.
I don't really care for his outfit, it's too much pale pastel for me. It feels like it needs some darker color somewhere to provide contrast. Still, the idea is nice.

 

This is Arkose in Light Violet, it's more of a purplish light grey so the Pale Violet would be less saturated.
