Soom Super Gem Dia

Definitely go for bigger clothes. I tried buying my guy a 60cm outfit from dollheart once before they started making SD17/ 70cm clothes and the only thing that fit him was the coat, everything else was way too tight, especially the shirt. He's wearing an SD17 outfit from dollheart in those pics, and I also bought him an SD17 outfit from volksusa which fits him good too. So sd17 range is definitely what you should go for.

All those lovely Dias... seeing the spam makes me itch to get my own Dia (girl) ! I'm actually waiting for a Christmas Box, though, and I want a CW one. Now with the new SG body I'm wondering if Soom are going to be selling their Christmas Boxes again this year :/.

I haven't bought from Soom before, so I wasn't aware they were so unpredictable.

 

The dolls in this thread are gorgeous... It makes me more excited about my Alexius.

What size wig does Dia wear best? I thought I once read Dia is a smallish head. I will probably get his head from Jpopdolls, so the cap will be a little stretchy. I prefer snug wigs that stay on over having large wigs that fall off easily.

 

Rossetti, my Dia, has always worn size 8/9 wigs (I've found this size works perfectly for her). The wig pictured here is a Jpop.



I love Dia, one of my all time favorite sculpts. Loving the beautiful Dia eye candy in this thread!

 

Adding some Lore spam since I finally got around to taking some decent photos of him. Loooove him, catfish lips and all.
And he is wearing a Monique 8/9 Jade wig with a silicone wig cap from coolcat on ebay

 

Catfish lips lol I love the big lips. I want to put my incoming Dia in a dark red wig to match and pose him with my Simply Divine Harlequin, another doll with huge fish lips.

After he was painted I sent pics to my friend and she thought he would be pretty, "..if not for those lips!"
Meh, it's an acquired taste I tell her. He's an odd sort of beautiful. I'm just grateful to finally have him.

 

Dia's lips are one of the reasons I got the mold! The moment I saw her, I thought she looked so much like a male model that I use when referring to my character, Dietre, that I knew I had to get a boy version! I even made this side by side like the day she came out, absolutely freaking out at how similar Dia is to this model. Almost everything is the same except the nose in side views!

Don't you think they look really similar?

 

I really like the 68cm male Popodoll body and think I would like to get one for Alexius. Does anyone know if Popodoll is a good match for a Dia head? Also, Alexius will be a white skin doll.

 

I've seen Bernard's and Saint's on Popo 68cm in the head matching thread and they looked good and proportional.

There are people who don't like Dia's lips?! XD For me, too, they are the main reason why I want a Dia for my character Kundry. Kundry's most striking feature is her mouth, and though I have looked everywhere (because I was kind of trying to avoid Soom ), I haven't found a single sculpt that made the same impression on me as Dia. Dia *is* Kundry, it's that simple :P.

I have been in love with the Soom Dia head for awhile now and decided that I will get one next. I wanted to see some of the resin comparisons but I cant seem to find any. Can someone possibly show me or point me in the right direction if I have skipped it by mistake? I don't know allot about Dia's i'm still learning, but from what I can see on the site they don't come in around 69-73 size which all of my dolls are. So I wanted to see if maybe his skin would match a loongsoul body as I have one floating around. Any help is much appreciated! ​

I have no idea what to do with mine. Well I guess I have a concept but each time I try a wig on his head,I'm like "nope not good"
I actually realized a lot of the Dias I've seen have light colored eyes. I gave Shion some dark eyes, I think I'll keep him like that for now.

 

Nyampokun, true that, I didn't even realise it, but yes, most Dias seem to have light coloured eyes I'm having the hardest time to find the perfect eyes for my boy... I need ice blue eyes for him, so that would be very light, pure blue (so no greenish tint in them). Currently I have glass eyes from Leeke, which are the perfect colour, but the fit isn't that good, so I'd like to have some low dome urethanes instead. I'm thinking of maybe switching to Vings at some point, but for now I'll make due with the glass ones.

 

I'm loving looking at all the Dias! I want a Dia boy so badly but he will have to wait a bit longer while I get bodies for a couple of my other floating heads first. Damn why can't I win a fortune then I could have them all at once I will just have to enjoy looking at others pics until then.

Edit: I have put a Dia boy on layaway and i'm so excited

 

Well I got my Dia boy at last and I love him to bits I got the wonderful Ticuk to do a face-up on him and I am so happy with the result.

Enifer your girl looks lovely and they are great photos. As for all those Dia boys yum! I just love Dias and i'm amazed this thread is not so active.

 

Late comment, I know, but oh Looloo! Your Dante is just breathtaking! He looks so amazing!

 

Since my debut in this hobby, the two significant sculpts that caught my attention into this hobby, was the Migidoll Cho and the Soom Dia. I have only been in this hobby for two years and been longing to get a Soom Dia male. A tan Dia is ideal, but normal skin or white is just fine. Most male iterations of Dia I have seen, look incredible! I am hoping to get a Dia by the end of this year.
He is likely going to reshell one of my current characters or adopt a new character altogether, we shall see.

Is anyone using Mako eyes for Dia? Will 12mm fit the head or will there be gaps?

 

I think this thread may get a bit more action coming up. I am waiting on a Dia "Lord of Jotunheim" with both elf and vampire heads in cream white. I will then have 3 Dia's and I couldn't be happier

Belated, sorry, I got 12 and 14mm Makos recently and tried them, there is a gap with the 12, barely visible if you have them looking forward but when sideways it becomes more obvious.

 

Dia's just awesome! There is cannot be too much dias!

I'll be getting a Dia soon-ish (Sooms 'will ship immediately' means 'will ship within the next 1 1/2 months >_>") and while I'm overly exited I also just recently remembered that the newer supergem bodies have weird short feet Anyone has an idea where to get fitting shoes? Regular 1/3 shoes from most shops seem to be too long.
