Soom Super Gem Dia

She's pretty but she has underlying masculine features imo. Plus she looks too much like a fashion doll for my tastes. I prefer the unrealistic head molds of the other dolls.(huge eyes all the way baby!)

 

she reminds me of that certain cover in Haute Doll (and yes i agree with the "Barbie" observation too XD)...

she can be a guy. But i think i love Deneb more XDD (she's more beautiful, imo, though not much likes Deneb =3)

 

I think she's gorgeous! A perfect beauty. I'm really liking these more realistic looking dolls. I know what company gets my money in the future.

 

My first initial reaction was "Barbie?!!". I like the fact that she's realistic looking but her heavy make-up and fashionable outfit just reminds me of one of those fashion dolls which I don't find particularly interesting compared to bjds. Maybe a change in clothes/face-up will make Dia more appealing to me when owner pics come up =/

 

I don't like her. The most unattractive part of her to me is her nose - too thin, remind me noses of some models, after a couple of plastic surgery for sure.

 

She looks very pretty to me. It feels like a good balance between stylized and realistic. I bet she could transform into different characters very easily with the right makeup; she might even make a good boy.

 

While I feel like my tastes are gravitating towards more realistic-looking dolls (that aren't too realistic), I'm not too moved by her. Perhaps certain parts of her face are more accentuated than they really are due to the strong faceup. But based on this predecessor, it'll be interesting to see what Soom comes up in the future, though!

 

I think Soom are choosing weird standard face-ups sometimes. Like with Spinel having a beard and heavy makeup, and now Dia having that glam makeup- I think it would be wiser to have a natural makeup as standard, and the heavier as an option or custom. I do think she is beautiful, but the heavy makeup makes it difficult to see her sculpt- I bet she would be much prettier with a natural look. And a different costume. She does look like one of the Collector Barbies. I'm unsure what to think of her, and I am normally not too fond of dolls with teeth. However I am very curious to see owner pictures with different faceups, cause I do think she has a lot of potential, and I love Soom

 

She's very gorgeous but I don't like her face it's too long? Aso is her mouth opened or not... on some she has an opened mouth and on others not.. and I mean straight on pictures... did they paint 2 models? one has teeth and the other hasn't? So weird.

 

She looks very masculine. If you dress your Sabik in a red dress they would look like twins. The faceup just doesn't look that interesting either.

 

She is beautiful. I love the faceup on her also, another wonderful unique look from Soom, like Spinel.
She looks nothing like "Barbie" IMO.

 

Couldn't agree more Hopefully this is the "Glamor" version and a more subdued version is coming to get a better idea of what she looks like without all the makeup.
Slightly offtopic but I didn't realize Spinel was so gorgeous until I saw pictures of him on here with different faceups

 

I'm very intrigued and she's got my interest, but I'd like to know some measurements first and a look at her nude would be helpful, you know, what are her joints like, 2 or 3 part torso.

Interesting face but I think that strong faceup isn't doing much for her but she looks like she has potential with a more natural faceup. IMO, she isn't too masculine at all. For some reason, she reminds me of a young Claire Bloom.

 

I think she might have a sligthly open mouth, with removable teeth that can be fastened inside the head with putty. I made a couple of porcelain dolls with that option long time ago.

I don't mind dolls having a western look or being realistic, it is still a well made resin BJD, not just a fashion doll. I like that companies make a wide range of dolls, mature and childish, western and eastern, realistic and stylized I just think the way they painted and dressed Dia is more typical for the fashion dolls, and I want to ask them for either blank pictures or with a more subtle makeup, as I think the one she's got makes it hard to see her features properly. But I really cannot afford to buy her yet anyway, so I better not ask

Also, I think Dia is more feminine than the female Mecha Angels. Her lips are rounder and her chin narrower. I'd love to see her in a style similar to the new Unidoll Lily, natural faceup and period clothing.

 

Isn't the totally and stunningly gorgeous ?? So feminine and perfect and so deliciously tall - I bet she'd be perfect with Sabik and the Mecha Guys

I really, really like her, and I'm not bothered at all by the "fashion doll" style. I don't think it's negative that the two genres are taking pages out of each others' books these days! Anyway, I love the true androgynistic feel she has. Many sculpts, in my opinion, while they are male because they are anatomically correct and because the owner says so, are more feminine than androgynous. This doll, on the other hand, with her long, chiseled face, definitely could be a man or a woman! If I saw her on the street I would do a doubletake XD

Can't wait to see what people do with her, she has TONS of potential!

 

Yea, sitting with your legs spread out isn't very charming, though, it gives her a something tomb boy-ish also.

With all the girly guys around it's nice to see it the other way round for a change! She does have sort of masculine features, but she's wonderfully sultry too.

But really I want her because she'd make an awesome drag queen Then I can finally re-enact 'Priscilla Queen of the Desert' lol

Indeed. I've been hit hard by this one, that's for sure. Every time I look at her, I can't help but see Montresor hidden underneath. She's just absolutely breath-taking. Wheeee, so excited!!

 

I really like her. I'm thinking she might make a good counterpart to the Dollshe Army.

 

So far, I'm very impressed with her. I'd love to know how tall she is, and what her measurements are. I was thinking of getting a Elfdoll June to go with my Hound, but if this girl is the right height, she might give June a run for the money!

 

Oooh spicy I'd love to get her outfit! I don't like very "mature" or "barbie" like girls too much, but I'm very impressed by her look ( i love her brow line!) I'd like to see her without lipstick!

Same here. I have become a bit picky about bodies, despite being new to this. I do not like 'squashed boobie bodies (scary!),' but I think if I were having her as a burlesque character, it would add great effect if she was dressed up in corsets and the like.

 

Actually, I think the teeth are just painted, if you look at a few of the extreme close-ups.


I think she's lovely, but what I really want is her dress. Reminds me of Satine from Moulin Rouge.

Hubba hubba! Wow! Go, Soom! What a great face she has. She is more feminine than Vega, although I can't really argue with the assessments of "Sabik-in-a-Red-Dress" that I'm hearing. She sure looks like his sister. ^^ But that works for the image they've created here. That Sassy Moulin Rouge Dancehall Chick look. It requires nice strong bones.

You're all spot-on about the lipstick, too-- while it is perfectly in-keeping with her glam makeup job and Hot Tamale outfit, it's getting in the way a bit. If I was wanting to buy one of these girls, I'd hold out for them to post an unpainted or neutral-painted picture of the face. I'd also want to know more about the body, like even a HEIGHT. If the boy Super Gems are about 65cm, does that mean she'll be the same or slightly shorter, like 63-64? I think it's great of people to be coming out with taller mature-girl bodies lately, & less of that Rampant Asian Daintiness. Tall chicks need lovin' too.

You're right, I was actually surprised too! I expected to see her and groan "Not another A-Barbie-JD". I can't put my finger on why, but she seems less Barbie than the last two SD16s that came out, even though they also had nice strong bones too. (Perhaps she looks too Sabik to look very Barbie. )

Well... this may sound weird but I'm getting really picky with hands and feets! Yes, I know...weird . I think hands and feets make dolls look more realistic. I like the detail on Soom bodies. I will wait to see her naked to decide. I want to make a violinist

Yeah, Soom does come out with beautiful sculpts, but destroys the ones I actually buy with bad faceups. :P

 

I think she is stunning!!! and I must say one of the most Feminine "Mature" Girl moulds I've ever seen.... I adore the shape of her eyes and mouth.... It just seems like (well at least in my option) every time a company tries to come out with a Mature Female Mould they end up looking like Dudes in make up....

This girl though very slightly manish, has a lot of potential, and is definitely one of the most feminine mature moulds I've ever come across.... But I do have a problem with those lips They are just WAY to intense for my taste..... I tend to go for that effortless yet striking beauty look, a naked or pale shaded lip always does the trick This girl's face up just hit's you in the face like a sledge hammer, not my cup of tea
