Soom Super Gem Dia

I have a Dia in WS and I sold her original hands and bought some Topaz ones. I broke the Topaz ones, just fixed them, but Im now wanting to get some WS Super Gem female hands for her again. I have been advertising in the marketplace, but are there any other options; any other companies hands that match well for example? Anyone have them or could link me to some threads or pictures? Thanks

 

Iplehouse Cream white, Dollshe/Dollstown paleskin, Luts/Feeple white and other creamy white resins would all be a tolerable match with WS Soom resin.

 

Thanks, hopefully someone will be able to link me to a Super Gem with these hands to see if they fit as well as match resin wise.

 

Does anyone know if the male body option is still open for Dia? What about the jointed hands?

I saw 2 pictures of Soom head on SSDF body, the proportion seems very good >_<

My Dia head is in NS and it came from 2008, I saw your pic comparison and it seems their color skin is not constant.
I'm planning to get him SSDF body NS or white, I hope blushing could help or maybe I need to find other 70cm bodies T_T

 

I see,you're about Soom NS.
I own the scarface IO head from late 2008 and in comparison to others NS is definitely a yellow normal skin hope this helps.
I would go for a NS either,but defnitely i think that a good blushing couls solve any matter ^^

 

Aaaahh you are right Sabbatha XDD Luts NS skin is suit with 2008 Soom NS, there's little difference but is not a big problem >_<

I'm quite surprise when received him, Dia's face is reaaaaally diferent with my Luts boys, his face is very realistic!!
I think like I saw a someone's face on him ^^ I wonder if all Soom like this..
But his mold is very great, no wonder if people love him so much >_<

I've been looking for the WS version but I can't seem to find her. Has she been discontinued?

 

All the basic sculpts are no longer available in WS, actually. There may be a few they have straggling along on hand available that were already cast, but I don't think they're doing new WS castings at this point of any of their basic line dolls.

Just wondering, did Soom remove the option of skin type on Dia, because when I just looked now it said that cream white was available as an option?! Or have I managed to get the wrong end of some proverbial stick!

 

As far as I knew they'd stopped, maybe there is a great demand for it and they've started to stock it again for a while.

I want Dia Head With Soom Male Body. When i uy the doll, in the comment box, couls i ask for the male body. can they do it? has anyone tried it?

I have asked them in Q&A, they give me a link (in Idelian ) they already prepared 1 page for Soom Dia on male body, but you can't search it in normal way. His price would be $614, Is better to ask them personally in Q&A section ^^

Mmmh, I see. All I know is that I've paid $30 extra for my Dia boy, so if they didn't change anything, it should be around 23&#8364; on the Euro site but meh @_@ .. not sure of course.

I was avoiding this world for a long time.. being afraid for my valet but after Latvian bjd doll meet i fell in love in the Dia.. i just couldnt resist her radiant beauty.. So i made hard decision to order her as my first and maybe last bjd..

I looked through the topic searching the reason why i dont need her.. but my Dia obsession become even stronger you guys made a miraculous masterpieces of art. It is like observing a paintings gallery in the museum.. i am totally amazed by the human talent and creativity.

I just wanted to ask.. guys who have Dia-girls with the Soom original blushing - can u please lead me to your gallery? I was looking through the topic - searching maybe someone mentioned it but i couldnt find.. I am sorry if i was too blind and missed it.

What is the best eye size for the Dia for a realistic look?

 

I use 14mm glass eyes for my Dia and I think it fits him perfectly

I don't have a Dia, but now have a Sard and I believe the eyes are the same (think the only difference is the thinner cheeks and pointy ears) - Sard is currently wearing 11mm Softco eyes which I think look quite natural, hope this helps can see whether can locate the Softco 13mm if you are interested...

took a while as finally realised a minimee was wearing them in the end both are SoftCo and thought you may wish to see another colour in 11mm so included blue also

Repainted my Dia boy, D (who wears 14mm eyes from soom, btw)




His leeke wig stained his old faceup and headcap quite a bit. Does anyone know what I could use to protect him this time around? I heard silicone headcaps can still be bled through. Also his wig is a very snug fit so I don't know if it'd even fit if I had a silicone headcap on underneath. Are there alternatives? I tried using a papertowel taped down but I can tell it bunched up and parts of the wigcap are touching his bare head and faceup. You'd think doll companies would use non staining materials!

I use Luts silicone headcaps on most of my dolls, my Dia included, and have never had any problems with them. I'm not sure how the wig color could bleed through the material either.
What size is that wig he's wearing? I can easily fit a regular 8-9 over a silicone cap for example.
And did soaking the wig for a while not help at all? I just gently wash my really dark ones with some wig shampoo and that usually made it tons better already.

 

I haven't tried washing it, but I think I will just to see if it gets some of the dye out. The wig is 8/9 and brown, but the wigcap is black. I'll go ahead and buy a wigcap at some point too, because the staining was pretty bad before I wiped his old faceup. I have wigs with dark caps from other companies, but they haven't stained my dolls, only this leekewig. Grah. :\

Botflybaby - One thing you can do about the staining is soak the wig in white vinegar. It seals the color in and is safe on fabrics. Rinse in cool water and let dry. The vinegar smell will dissipate in a few days. Or, after the rinse you can soak in a solution of scented fabric softener and rinse again. I put all of my wigs in fabric softener to wash because it's gentle, conditioning, and rejuvenates frazzled wigs. It will cover up the vinegar scent if you don't want to wait.

 

Thanks!! I'm preeetty sure he's wearing nile blue eclipse, but looking on the site now they look really green compared to the ones I have, so they might be baby blue eclipse. I ordered him too long ago for the order to still show up on my history so I can't find out exactly which, but it's one of those!


cyranstar - Maybe I will try that. I'm always scared of ruining things. Would i soak the whole wig in straight white vinegar? Or should I dilute it?

 

I soaked the doll clothes and wig caps in straight vinegar, but you can do a 1:1 solution with water to be safe. It won't hurt anything.
If you want to bypass the vinegar, you do a soak and rinse in the fabric softener. It will wash away excess color and lessen any staining, but not prevent it unless all excess color is washed away or sealed with the vinegar.

I just got a Dia head last week. Man, I love her. I had always loved the mold, but figured she'd be too large for me for 3 years. And then I took the plunge and got her a Beryl body xD Hope that ships soon.
The head is WS and the body is NS so sadly I can't give her a faceup yet, but I am very exciting about painting her.

I posted quite a few questions to Soom in my last message, but I thought I would share the one that was relevant here. I asked them if they would continue doing Male Dia in CW in the future, and what their plans were with it, to which they replied that they had no plans to stop offering it in the near future. That was of course followed with them admitting that they often don't make a plan for things, and just up and do things, but they said they would keep my message, and try to make me aware of any future change if I haven't ordered by then. Which of course they gave me this info, on the fact I said I would be ordering one soon, but was curious if I should do it ASAP, or just sort of soonish (which let me tell you they aren't helping their case by releasing adorable green elves...but alas). Can't wait to order my beauty soon with you guys parading all of your's around making me jealous!

I'm pretty sure my Dia is wearing 14mm eyes, and he's wearing an 8-9 leekeworld wig that fits just fine, if a bit snug. Unfortunately the leekeworld wig stains! I have yet to get him a proper wigcap to protect him. I really ought to. :

Oh, what about clothes sizing?
Do they fit a normal sd clothes? Or should I look out for bigger clothings?
