Soom Petit Gem Discussion - Part 1

@vanori Feliné is so cute! Her face up is so gorgeous! It photographs so well too!

I thought about giving Ferdy white spots but wasn't sure I would like them, they look lovely on your girl though.

 

I'm glad everyone is finally getting their Rudy's. They're all so cute.

@taixonay I have a similar issue with my Ondiin's tail. It's so heavy that it falls off that I don't even bother with it unless I'm taking pictures. But Rudy's tail is much smaller, so without clothes it probably stays in place better? Soom needs to ship them out with stronger magnets, lol.

 

My Rudy's tail actually stays on decently even through a layer of clothing. It's a little more wobbly that way. Without clothes, it stays really well.

My Rudy arrived yesterday! Talk about super fast shipping! On the down side, I was not prepared for how small he is, from a visceral standpoint I mean. I knew about the measurements and looked at a ruler in my hand, but holding the doll is an entirely different experience. I guess I'll give it some time to see if I'll warm up to this size. I'm a sucker for deer and I love seeing what you guys have done with your Rudys though.

 

@TechnicolorFox When I spoke to Soom about the issues I was having with the tail and the skirt, they said that I put the magnet in too deep (the one that goes on her butt). Maybe that is the case. Hopefully someone else who ordered the outfit can confirm this with pictures. Otherwise, the tail is fine. I haven't tried any other fabrics against the tail to see how well it does or doesn't stay on though. The skirt still looks cute, I just have to be careful when her tail is attached. :T

@sno4wy congratulations on your Rudy's arrival! I was surprised by the size too. I really hope you are able to get used to his size. They are really fun to mess around with....


I've been using Ferdy to pick up my Pukifees.

When my Leepy gets here, it'll be fun having the two of them terrorize the Pukifees.

 

@taixonay: Thanks a lot =) Iw as niot sure if i want freckles ore spots. I did her face-up twice, the first version had spots on her cheecks too.. but i think it was to much for this little face. You're Pukifee is hanging around with you're Ferdy xDD

My Rudy is finally here! She's smaller than I imagined but wow is she absolutely precious!

I have not glued the magnets on her parts yet but as you can see from the photo, the skirt doesn't stick up in the back and as of yet it has not shed. Her top is pretty secure with the bead in the back; I haven't had it fall off or get loose yet but I do hope that the bead will stay on. The only complaint I would have is her stockings isn't completely even. As you can see in the photo, her left stocking has jagged edges.

 

@vanori Congratulations! Her little freckles are absolutely adorable.

I'm so glad to see all of the Rudy's arriving, they are all so cute!
I'll make the last payment on my Leepy in a week then I am in for a little wait. Hope it won't be too long.

I just got my Rudy today and I'll work on a faceup this weekend. I do own a Pukipuki and I have to say that the dresses and tops from Nubanded fit, but some pants might not because of Petite Gem's hips.

Aaaaaa! My Leepy shipped today!! Faster than I excepted, honestly. My partner, who hasn't seen me order a doll before, thought it was taking forever

I'm soooo excited! And this is actually during really good time too, because we'll be moving in a month or so.

@heavenlydevil My Leepy shipped too! I probably won't get mine until Tuesday because Monday is a holiday.

 

My leepy has been shipped, She's in the aeroplane right now (I love how EMS gives you the flight number for maximum parcel stalking)
I'm expecting her late next week at the earliest (customs ussually holds stuff for about a week). I am gonna die, I was hoping she'd ship while my parents are away XD

Yay, happy to hear everyone else's Leepys are on the way too! I'm so excited, it felt like such a long wait, even though it wasn't at all!

I'm pretty sick rn, so I'm hoping I'll get better before having to pick her up! Though, some of my previous dolls have arrived straight to the doorstep, so maybe that'll be the case here too?

 

My leepy is still "before shipping" i can't wait !

@vanori i ordered them in babypink, blue and green . That way i will have the choice
I'm waiting for leepy with both heads, but not sure to keep it because i received another bunny (from depths dolls) in gray skin too... will let you know !

@vanori Your two petits kill me every time. They are just *too* cute!!

Now I am stalking Soom (and the MP) to see if maybe I can get my hands on one. (My sister also loves Leepy, lol). I've been thinking about getting an under ~20cm doll to be my little photo buddy when I go run around, and the petit gems seem like a perfect choice.

My Leepy's here soon, tracking says she should be here by tomorrow at 9 AM! She actually didn't go to customs, which is funny and unusual for my dolls but all the better!

I had bit of freakout yesterday because the tracking hadn't updated for a bit, longer than usually with my experiences with EMS and I was scared she had been lost. I am super embarrassed now by myself, but oh well. glad she'll be here soon!

 

I had luck with custom too =) Both Petit Gems came directly home

Here she is!! Sorry for such a late reply, I had headache and am recovering from sickness etc.

Anyway! She's so tiny and adorable and I love her! She fit into my yosd's carriage which I intended to be for her toys, but I guess this little one is stealing it!

No box opening rn, I did take pictures but just too tired... maybe later.

I forgot she didn't come with eyes so I actually didn't have any for her... I ended up drawing circles in piece of paper and taping them in.. but it kind of works! Better than no eyes, anyway.

The ears are also partly taped in under the hat... I did glue the magnets in, but it didn't hold... I think our glue was really old or something. *shrugs*

Also, forgot to mention! Her name's Ella! I had originally decided on Alexandra, but she just didn't feel like Alexandra when I looked at her.

My Leepy arrived on Tuesday but because of the weather I haven't had a chance to really take pictures of her. I was going to name her Fran but it's not sticking.

Hi gyuys! Sorry for being absent, I actually ended up on ER the other day bc I had such a bad headache, and stayed the night there, but I do feel better now! We found out the reason for them too, well, my ever so lovely partner did! I had stopped taking some meds recently and turns out, they also help keep migraines away! So I started getting them when I stopped taking then. But I've started taking them again and I do feel better!

I haven't played with Ella too much, well, little bit. I did end up putting these stickers in as her eyes, I think they look really funky and cool! Also, I put washi taoe on her, partly because the glue didn't work on some of the magnets and I also think it looks cool! They're like little bandages.

A new petit gem, Julie! This puppy looks pretty cute. I might just snag the outfit for my Ondiin.

 

Julie is sooo cute! I'm so tempted to get her! I have a 13cm anthro on the way. Julie might complement that nicely.

 

Is here someone who order/ordered Julie? Which skin color do you decide?

I would really want Julie, but i don't like her as poodle.. maybe i create a new doll xDD
But which color should i choose? At my home there are ns, tan and grey Petit Gem's Maybe white would be a good choice?! What do you guys think?


Is here someone who own a Petit Gem doll and have some 12mm Makoeyes too? I would love to see this eye size in a Petit Gem.. i'm not sure if they fit.

 

@vanori Ferdy is wearing 12mm mako eyes in the pics I took. They don't fit very well. ):

 

@vanori I ended up giving into temptation and ordered her. I'm getting her in cream white because my first dog was a white poodle, although a find the brown color very appealing too.

I'm guessing since she's so small, it might be best to go with a low dome eye. Makoeyes are fairly highdome I think, though I could be completely wrong.

 

Julie is such a cute little pup. I don't know if I want to get her, but you can turn her into a different breed of dog by sculpting the right ears and tail.

I'm excited to see what other ideas Soom will make for Petit Gem. I'm eager to get a second when I can so I can sculpt for it.

I tried to find answer to my question here, but didn't find it ^^;

So, I bought Leepy in ws and she is at my friends place now for blushing and faceup. I was wondering what eyesize would fit her best? On the site it said 12mm but does it actually fit properly or do you prefer 10mm?

I'm ordering pair from oscar doll for her so I would be really thankful if someone could point me to the right direction

 

10mm would probably work best. My Rudy wears 12mm and they don't fit very well or look very nice (they're Makoeyes so they're a bit smaller than other 12mm eyes). I need to get her smaller eyes. >.>

Hi. I was considering buying one of the petite gems but I was wondering how the size compares to the Luts Zuzus? Does anyone have any pics of them together. I would love to see if any one does. Thank you!

 

I'm guessing they'd probably look really small compared to Zuzu Delfs, since Zuzus have really thick proportions compared to Petite Gems. Though, it really would be interesting to see them together!

Also, I wish I had also asked about eyes on here before ordering glass eyes for my Julie. I got 12mm glass eyes from Alice Collections and they sit too far back. They're actually so big that her face plate wont fully close! I'm not two broken up about it. They were $1 (thank you alice collections fall event). But I really like them aesthetically! I'm pretty sure that when Soom lists their eye size as 12mm, they probably mean 12mm silicone eyes -- as in the eyes they sell on their website.
