Soom Petit Gem Discussion - Part 1

Yay!

I absolutely love Rudy too. The other petit gems didn't grab me so, but there's something about the little deer...

 

I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on a Rudy... I really want the darker almondy brown skin. I wish I'd been around to get the little Ondiin dragon! It's too cute to handle.

 

I'm trying to figure out why I love Rudy so much but the deer/ram minis from a recent Dollzone release don't grab me as much. o:

 

Oh man, I reeeeeally wanted one of those Dollzone specials. Out of the budget, though, and I kept thinking, without the intense full-body blushing, they wouldn't be as cute. I really prefer to do my own faceups, so that was going to be a little more than I could do. Rudy has a bit more humanish features. And those chubby little hands and hips

 

Were we also given any pics of either of those Dollzone dolls without clothing?

 

Nope! Another thing that bothered me. I wanted to know the size and dimensions, but I couldn't figure out which body they were going off of. I do wish Rudy had hooves, but it's a small price to pay.

Also... I just ordered mine Now the looong wait begins.

 

Congratulations! What options did you get him with? Did you get his clothes?

 

Thanks! I got the darker brown skin, but none of the blushing/faceups. The clothes are actually sold separately... but I think my Rudy will be a boy, so I'm going to forego the skirt I'll make him a little red and white cape with a hood and see what else I can come up with... maybe a little collar with reindeer bells on it?

I would love to get a Ondiin too.... i look for it but there are not much Ondiins ... ><° Maybe soom will rerelease them?

 

Rudy is very cute. I have an Obiin myself, thinking about grabbing Ruby's clothes for some winter wear for it, lol.

 

Totally fallen for little Rudy too! I'm debating on whether I should get her or not. If I did get her, she'd be in brown tan and I'd buy her little outfit. I'd do her face up myself and maybe give her some freckles.

ETA: Were Soom's ordering periods always this short?

I really like her proportion! If this was a bigger size I would so jump on it!! My zuzu delf is really the smallest I can handle. There really is something about rudy.

 

I just placed my order for Rudy. Now to forget this ever happened and be surprised when she does eventually show up.

 

Right?! It's the only way to survive the anticipation.

It's been a long time since I've owned a Soom doll. What's the quality like these days?

 

I ordered her in brown tan skin, without face up and blushing =) And i ordered some Soom eyes too ( green and blue glitter eyes) I hope it suits her.

I had a Soom doll long time ago too. Does anybody know how long is teh current waiting time ? I think 3 months right? =)

 

Gosh I thought I was set on the Tawny color but then I saw Soom's photos of them both together in the same lighting and now I'm undecided I wish they had more photos that shows both of them together...

I think I might go with the Brown Tan from the photos of them together. When I first saw Soom's photo of them it looked like the Tan was a lot darker but that doesn't seem to be the case

 

XD I did the same thing! Brown, blank, with outfit. I think unless something breathtaking comes out I'll be on hold for dolls for a while haha!

Whoa, holy cow, mine is too! That's hard to believe. I thought Soom was kinda slow? Or maybe because they were Christmas specials they had a few ready to go.

I think "before shipping" for Soom means that they're working on the order. I know some companies change the status to "before shipping" just before they ship your order out, but other companies change it sometime after the order and payment have been confirmed.

Me too. It looks so chubby. I wonder if it will get its own magnetic ears like the others. Or is it only in the outfit?

 

Maybe Soom want to make the Petite Gems more puplic?

 

I think I'll be safe from Leepy despite it looking so cute. I don't want to get a second doll from a line that I don't even know for certain that I'll like.

Darn, I was hoping to find some owner pics in here. I'm highly leaning towards buying a leepy. She's so cute! Hope some of the Rudy's come in soon!

 

I want a gray skin Leepy so much! I've been looking for an anthro bunny for so long. But up until now I couldn't find one that I liked. This bunny is everything I've wanted and more

is the outfit included with the bunny or do I have to order it separately? I don't see any outfit option in the menu...

@Kami_aqua, it seems no one has received their Rudy yet and Ondiin is really hard to find pics of. There are some Ondiin pics in this thread: Soom Ondiin Discussion . Last time I looked through it I saw some posing pictures and a comparison picture between a Petit gem, a Pukifee, and a PukiPuki.

If Leepy had only been available in WS, there would be nothing for me to consider, but that grey skin is very tempting. Leepy *would* make a cute in scale friend for my Rudy and I think they both would look pretty good with my hippogriff, so that would be a plus. *sigh* And just two weeks to decide too. >.>

ETA: it's a shame we don't have pictures yet. Does anyone have an Ondiin or Eva to share? I don't think I've ever seen owner pics of Eva...

 

I haven't seen any pictures of Eva either. Maybe it wasn't as popular.

My Obiin is sitting in their box until I have time to take proper pictures. All the ones I have are trying on her new clothes, eyes, and wig.

 

@TechnicolorFox would you be willing to share some of those pictures with us? Personally I'd love to see what outfits, eyes and wigs you’ve tried.

 

I for one am very happy to see Soom expand this size range since I love smaller bjds with a slightly more mature aesthetic as most of the bjds in this size are usually babies/kids. I'm tempted with Leepy but I'm going to hold off since I'm still waiting on Rudy. I will definitely post photos once I receive her. The wait is torture T^T
