SOOM Monthly Doll December (Sagittarius) the Third Land: Heliot God Master

Dec 23, 2008

    1. very funny!

    2. Heliot is back up for sale!

    3. looking at old manga scans and wondering if the sculptor from soom was a fan of sailor moon's helios

he's really beautiful, but yeah, I had a moment of "wait a minute, this reminds me of something" *fangirl squee* lol

    4. He is still available. 3+ hours
      *shocked*
Maybe everyone already filled up on the hooved goodness

    5. I don't remember Soom ever ending the order period early. Looks like they just shortened them. I freaked and bought Euclase earlier than I intended, because he kept selling out, but I could have waited 'til the last minute. my Sard was ordered almost at the last hour. can you believe I wasn't sure I liked him? :o

    6. The new pics make me appreciate his color scheme even more <3 I wuv the color schemes they pick for the MDs! ...and those wings must be truly massive D= my eyes travel down them until they reach the bottom and then see how small their tips make his feet look, and then I remember how big the feet of an SD-size doll are! *_*

    7. I was thinking the same thing. :S

And lol, the blushing on the hooves is already chipped. Glad I decided against paying all that money for the blushing.

    8. I'm starting to have doubts about the blushing I purchased now. Did someone mention earlier that you could get the bow and arrow blushed, but not the Heliot? I might have to take that option, though I think even if I had someone else blush the hooves I'd still have that same problem, wouldn't I?

    9. Some else did, then I asked again. AND YUP. It costs $20 to have the bow and arrows done.

I also been looking at Sard picts and fiddling with Heliots picts... I think even the face sculpt is the same. It hard to tell because of the over exposure. Wow. I can't believe my luck, I'm getting my Sard. yay

    10. You can get the bow and arrow blushed only.

There are solutions for the blushing of the hoof. When my Heliot arrives, I'm going to paint the hooves, but instead of having a dark color on the area where resin meets resin, I'll leave it blank. All the contact points will be colorless, and I'll blush some color where it's safe. If it's all kept light-colored I think it will look nice (like having white fur around the hoof).

    11. The hooves are interesting... not exactly cloven, but has the suggestion of it... More narrow then Sard's big HUGE hooves... more suited to a unicorn-boy, I think!

They can probably be modded to have a more cloven look, I'm sure.

Face isn't that much like Sard, but they could probably look like brothers or some relation, I'm sure.

Yes, there will be problems with paint on any parts that will see some sort of wear... the joints, the parts that will touch the ground or knock against other body parts. That's just the way it goes, I guess. I went ahead and bought the blushing on my Sard and I'm not sorry. Chips can be retouched. Or you can always blush 'em how you wish, keeping it light is proably fine if you like the pale look of Heliot!

    12. Thanks guys. I've decided to just keep his blushing. If I don't like it or it chips a lot I can always paint it again later I'm sure. I think it be kind of nice to actually get a full set this time too.

I love Heliot's hooves more than Sard me thinks. It does have that dainty unicorn feel to it, which I totally love.

    13. I think he is really handsome. I am tapped out for dolls right now. I do wish the romantic face didn't have the horn or I would definitely want it. I don't care for the full open eyes as much. I am blown away by the faceup. The eye shading is amazing. I am still trying to pay for Kurumi so it is a pass for me. Congrats to all who ordered I have a feeling he is gonna be a major hit. Soom never sees es to amaze me.

    14. what about dyeing instead of blushing for arround the joints?

    15. I remember that being discussed in the Beryl threads and I don't think it would be that much better really. The fact is that the hooves will chip at the joints and base with wear, and they will need touching up. Coating the hoof part in a couple of coats of gloss does help cut it down, as well as a couple of extra coats of MSC on the rest of the hooves, but they will still chip in certain parts.
If the Heliot is anything like the Beryl we have in our house, when you pick them up the legs like to swing together and hit each other, so its best to hold their legs apart at the hooves when you pick them up too. :)

    16. This is KILLING ME. I want him so badly, I know I want him for sure...but I really, really, really can't afford him right now. Mom would kill me. XD''''''' I have to save for school...she said I could save for a body for Jonathan, but...then I'm supposed to save for school.... **Bites lip**

    17. lady vincira maybe you should just buy his head and hooves in a split then, and when you have the money you can buy him a body and wont have to worry about catching the aftermarket prices which can be like... 1800 for a basic doll @.@

    18. ....That's actually not a bad idea, although.......the last thing I need is a THIRD FLOATING HEAD. XD''''' But it might be practical.

    19. lol yeah, but at least its easier to hide a floating head from parents than a 70 cm glowing white dollie XD

    20. What a gorgeous creation!

Soom have definitely found the perfect way to get their hands on our money that is for sure.

    21. I love his look, but I knew I wouldn't be able to purchase all of him :P So I simply did a split with some other people, hoping to just get the outfit ^^; I love the wings a lot, and am possibly hoping to change the color? But I dunno if this will ruin them or not... @_@;

    22. Mon, are you getting him? :D

    23. where can you read how much heliots are in stock*_*

    24. I'm pretty sure people are just seeing how many they can get into their cart. So if you can get 23 in your cart, they have 23 to sell. :)

    25. Yep I put him on layaway the other day! :D You must have missed my rambling lj entry about it XDD

    26. True, but I hate hiding things from my parents. XD' Besides, we have a PO Box and I'm not the one who checks the mail.

    27. I really don't think that this boy will fit into any size PO box. Hmmm. Maybe you could get there early and ask a counter person.

    28. I have BJDs sent to my PO Box all the time and can get the EMS deliveries at my convenience. :)

The postal clerk puts a notice slip in the PO Box that an item needs to be picked up at the counter.
      .

    29. I love the bow and arrow! I was hoping for one!

    30. Any speculation on what size eyes he might have?

    31. It's 14mm :)

    32. Yep, they all tend to be 14mm, I doubt his would deviate from it.

    33. Exactly. ^^ <3

I THINK what I'm going to have to do is find a split to get the horned head and hooves, then buy the body later. I'm having trouble finding one for the parts I need, though, and I'm still so anxious over this whole thing.... XD' AGH. I guess it'll hinge on how much my paycheck is tomorrow.

    34. Heliot has a SOLD OUT tag. Wonder if that's it.
      .

    35. I'll be very upset if it is! @_@' I thought we had until the 13th, and I still haven't found a split for the hooves!

Please, SOOM, just a bit more time.... <3 He was late coming out!

(Can we tell I've been SOOMED for the first time, and HARD? XD)

    36. I hope they have a few more left. I was unable to adopt my boy as well. :(

    37. Don't worry, I'm pretty sure they are going to restock him until the end of his ordering period.

    38. NO! I am forced to wait until the last minute by nasty evil finances. They have to put him back up! :...(

    39. Its still very early Monday morning in Korea. I'd give it a few hours before freaking out he's sold out for good.

    40. He's restocked again now...

    41. YAY!!! I've offically put my gorgeous unicorn boy on layaway, I went back and forth so many times, especially since I have Sard and his gorgeous hooves already but Heliot just kept pulling me in.

I'm in for the long wait again and I'm extremely excited about it!

    42. ugh...I can't make my decision. I know I know...
It's a big batch of money to me and I'm not really fond of his non-cloven hooves.
anyway, I'm gonna place the order until last min 0_0

    43. lol I broke down and just went for it.

    44. He's really something! Seeing as I won't be able to afford one, I can't wait to see everyones once they arrive. :3

    45. I appologise if this has already been covered, but there was a notice up on Soom reguarding Heliot that said there would be an extra shipping charge for people ordering more than one and that they'd send an email with the total. (Hence all this with the cart not adding the shipping by itself.) My girlfriend and I went ahead and ordered together but then no word from Soom. I emailed, they told me to cancel and order again... I did and still nothing. Anyone having similar problems? It's just getting a little concerning. :( We still don't have a total so we can't put down our first layaway payment.

    46. well..soom say you can place two dolly once at once, but no more then two each check out of dolly O.o

    47. I ran into the problem Cami_Hat is describing -- ordered two Mecha Angels at once, first order for anything ever. It led to some confusion on the shipping fees. I've ordered multiple dolls on the same day other times from them since, and now I've just put them on separate orders. It may end up costing more in some small way, but I can't imagine it's significantly more -- also if one item is ready before the other, it will ship out without being held up for the other, etc. It's easier on me, and likely easier on Soom as well.
