SOOM Monthly Doll December (Sagittarius) the Third Land: Heliot God Master

I've been debating whether or not I want two gorgeous hooved men but Heliot is just calling out to me! And he would just be stunning with Sard when I get them together!! I can't wait for Soom to restock him so I can snatch him up.

I totally agree with what aernath said if your on the fence it's always better to get and resell later these guys turn on up the second hand market for much more then the original price and you never know he may just become your new favorite when you get him home.

 

it is sold out - does this mean I have missed out on him>?

 

hi Bridget ! ........ i'm not a soom expert.... but: they SHOULD re-stock. ........ he is limited by TIME ... not by QUANTITY....... soom planned to sell him ... until what was the ending date? Jan. 14th or so. ....... they do have an ominous disclaimer: 'may end sale early' or something like that.... but............. so far.... they have re-stocked him several times.

It IS frustrating. If you want one.... watch carefully for when the 'Sold Out' sign disappears ... and then............ jump on him............ i agree with all who have said: best to buy and to re-sell LATER... if you don't want him.

same... im fighting with the credit card payment. (im such a n00b) it says to make the payments you add a gift certificate in the amount of your layaway payments, but to me it looks like the gift certificates are in set quantities. i could put 2 of the 100$ ones but that would be confusing...

The more I look at him, the more I want him. It's going to be like Euclase, another amazing soom boy that I can't afford. I just want his human head, wig and eyes, and the human body too *sad*.

Aiyaah!! I can't take it anymore. I was going to wait until January 9 to order him, so I could pay in full all in one go when I get my paycheck, but this constant "in-stock, out-of-stock, re-stock" nonsense is too stressful! I'm just going to order one as soon as they restock again, pay a small deposit now, and then pay him off all the way on the 9th. Urg.

 

Please do, then there will be at least 3 people i Washington that will have him. :3

 

What is going on with Soom. I'm so stressed out. Every time I'm almost finished checking out he gets sold out. I think their just trying to drive me nuts.

The great thing about the Soom website is that you can go back to any of the sold out limiteds and play with add-ons. The site will tell you how much everything is and what the total is (not including shipping of course).

Nice to see what someone's Beryl or Sard really cost them... vs what they will sell it for. Sorry for mini rant.

EDIT: Also I think the second time he got restocked, he was down to 10 then all of a sudden over 40, so I think they added more before he got sold out again.

I hope Soom isn't having a New Year holiday, too, just like their Christmas one...only unannounced.

 

Well, in Asia, people usually do have New Year off. So they may be off. (my guess)

Will they announce when he's totally out? Also, and I don't who has been giving the info but theres someone here who has been saying how many dolls are left, exact numbers. Is there a place on the site that says how many dolls are left???

 

theyve been doing it by adding to thier cart until it says "quantity not enough" or something, its now many are stocked not how many they have total. and as far as i know they dont warn you when hes out for good

 

maybe they just need to process the orders in chunks, i mean they wouldn't really close the ordering period 14 days before planned would they? When they could make so much more money. That just seems insane, I was going to order one tonight, alas...But I'm pretty sure they will open up the orders again....

Eh, he doesn't look or feel much like a "Capricorn" to me, which is, I suppose, why they're monthly dolls and not horiscope dolls. No fish tail, no dual horns just the half-clear one (which I'm not a fan of)... eh. I was looking forward to a Capricorn-themed doll the way they did the lovely Scorpio-esque girl. I'm rather disappointed, all told, mostly because I was looking for a Capricorn girl or boy and they definitely dropped short of the mark. The face... I guess could be Capricorn-esque, but it could be for several of the signs as well. Ah well, some of the other months didn't match up either. XD Of course, I am a Cap, so I'm a bit picky about things that are assigned to my star sign. His one redeeming factor is the goat legs, because I love their sculpt for hooved legs. Good luck to everyone who is waiting to buy him or has already bought him!

 

He's meant to be the Sagittarius doll PsychoticElflet5, hence the bow and arrows and horse like hooves

 

I just saw the bow photo and I was wondering just that! I assumed it was Capricorn because people keep calling it the SOOM "Capricorn" doll. XD Thanks for the info, though! I guess they'll maybe do Capricorn in early January...? My hope and faith has been restored. XD Thanks, Akudem. (Edit: Now I'll be waiting on pins and needles to see if they do make him or her!)

 

Capricorn'll be out mid-late January (hopefully not too late, if they get back on schedule after Heliot's unfortunate lateness).

 

*Nods* It sounds right. I went back and looked over the other monthly dolls and so far Capricorn and Aquarius are the only two who don't have dolls (I don't think Planet Spirit Deneb last February was meant to be Aquarius. ) for their signs yet. So we're looking at two more and then a new set of dolls, unless they do a second round of horiscope dolls in the opposite gender.

Well, I went ahead and ordered him. I don't have any boy dolls, so I am a little nervous. What if the clothes I make for him look dumb? What if I can't find shoes?
I felt compelled to order him since I am SO impressed with my Shadow Onyx. I wanted another doll in the same style, and was waiting for the right boy. I think it was the ice bow and hooves that threw me over the edge...and elf ears!

My husband is not as impressed. He thinks he looks like Ziggy Stardust- era David Bowie- and to him that is not a compliment!

I'm afraid she may be the Aquarius, as she does have the 'gamer stats' that the other Zodiac monthlies have (Uyoo Elf, previous to Deneb, lacks the stats). We do know there will be a Capricorn because it's been confirmed by Soom on the Q&A board, but they may start over in the lunar new year with a new theme.

If there were only a few in the restock, it could be from people canceling their order - perhaps New Years resolutions to save money?

I've been checking a few times a day, and going by the rate at which they seem to be selling, it looks to me like the restock that occured over night was for a batch of 20. Prior to that, it looks like there were a couple cancelled orders yesterday evening.

 

Well every time they reload the stock they do have a fixed quantities. If he is super popular, it is possible they may not keep the original date. Because all the items that he comes with wigs, wings etc need to be made as well. It will depend on how much raw materials one can get. Also they cannot possibly take orders beyond what they can produce even with the two shifts etc. I am pretty sure people do not want to be waiting 6-9 months for a doll.

But I am not Soom so I do not know for sure what decision they will make.

Seeing that he has been so popular, it is probably better to put in your order earlier.

How long will this one actually take?? Does anyone want to take a guess at it? I was sure hoping for a horse type to compete with Soul Doll, but guess I'll see next month.

 

I'm all ready over my self imposed limit on dolls (without a particular "use/character"). Chinese zodiac would kill me. I know of 4 of those that I'd have to buy.

Maybe I'll make my human head Heliot into the cow/bull, get horns, so I'm covered for that one.

I'd second this. If anything you won't have to worry about him selling out on you. I'm so glad I ordered a while ago. This in and out of stock would kill me. But I learned my lesson from Beryl. I waited too long and missed out.

well, i've got my Heliot all wrapped up, but since i am Capricorn, i am pretty sure i will have to have the next doll as well...... goat? fish? goat-fish?
