So, is anyone here contemplating getting this new megagem? I dont like how the eyes are uneven and the way it is curved. It makes him look like an anime character. Plus he seems too young for a megagem.

 

I've put Handol in tawny on layaway today!
He is exactly what I was looking for: a SG or MG in tan skin with paws and a pleasant face.
I'm not really fond of the "surprise" head with teeth, but this one is most likely going to a friend anyway.

 

New mega gem has cool clothing. I like the subtle snarl in his surprise head.

 

Ok, I'm not sold on his human head but I love his Surprise head. The teeth, the subtle snarl, he's gorgeous. But sadly my wallet says no...I just bought a car so my funds are very low at the moment.

 

I love these fantasy dolls! Pure humans are too boring for me, LOL. I have the Captain Hook one, but he is really heavy... I'm pretty sure he is nearly 3 kg

 

Oh that wouldn't surprise me. My guy would probably be about the same if not more. It's his huge feet and legs.

 

Heres my big boy ^^ Phonolus was the best choice for Lucifer hes so heavy although xD and because i am the second owner,he was a bit loose in his tire,so he likes to kick and headbanging me xD i will buy him new tire,but dont know if there is thick enough for him xd

I just got my secondhand Monzo today and omg I love him so much! I’ve been reading this thread and other Soom threads and I totally knew the doll's measurements but, I was still surprised about his size! He’s so thicc lmao

Honestly now I just want all the Mega Gems. I'm officially obsessed.

@Quiet and Insane - Thanks. They're pretty good for a comfy day, lol. Oh man, I am also loving the horns and I totally didn't expect to! I thought 'hmm nice they're coming with him but I'll never use them...' Guess I'm using them. :')

 

@sovayne: Congrats on getting a Monzo! Those pjs are indeed cute : o Horns are always a great addition especially on all soom dolls. Awww your cat is cute. Nothing like a good solid bonding there.

 

@BlueyKiwi - Thanks! I really didn’t think I’d like the horns at all, but they totally fit! I usually think horns look ... disproportionate (maybe doesn’t seem like the word I want, lol) to me on most dolls but, yes Soom definitely got it right in my opinion. xD And yes I love it when my cats take to my dolls LOL

Oh wow, Nascence is looking really awesome! That is a super fancy outfit. It really looks amazing on him and really suits him! The colours are so rich.

@Lenola, I bet an angel inspired outfit would look totally nice on your boy! Phonolus has such a handsome face sculpt.

@Lenola - Phonolus is great! I think he'd look so cool in an angel outfit. Do you have the human version or the tiger version?

@sovayne - Thank you! This is the Seth outfit that Soom released a little while ago and the moment I saw it I knew I had to have it for Nascence. Heck, I sold ahead just to get it! It's such a gorgeous outfit, though it is a pity that that leg and feet accessories don't fit on his colossal feet/thighs.

 

Yes, I got the full set! I hope to get him together soon!

Also what kind of cat is that? It looks like a ragdoll and I've been thinking about adopting one of those.

 

He is. He kind of had to adapt in this house! LOL

The cat is a ragdoll. He’s honestly so sweet and the ragdoll breed certainly lives up to their docile reputation in my opinion. Aw, that’s nice you’re thinking about adopting a kitty. If you decide on a ragdoll, they definitely are playful, curious, silly, but very laid back kitties!

I LOVE your Anubis. He looks great.

I just love that outfit as well. I did twik mine a little bit, but I found it to be such a perfect outfit. The headband is beautiful.

@Bren - Thank you! Oh as soon as I saw this outfit I knew I needed it for Nascence. He's my grail and I don't spoil him nearly as much as I should. He's on a Phonolus body too! There's something just so right about seeing him on that body. It's like it was made for him.

 

YAY!!!! I whole hearted agree. He really is a jewel. I was soo happy when I was able to get an Anubis head. I came into the soom game a little late when all my favorites has been long sold out since my staple of collection is another brand. I like his name as well. Really love the outdoor background.

 

I started the whole hobby in late 2013/early 2014 (when I ordered and recieved my first doll) by the time I "discovered" Soom he was well and truly discontinued. But I was absolutely determined to have him. I've been obsessed with Ancient Egypt since I was a small child and my first tattoo was a jackal and hieroglyphics.
Thank you! That's just out in my backyard, and his name is a reference to a video game I adore. Though it's more of a nickname for him because he doesn't want people to worry about how to say or spell his real name. Not many people can read hieroglyphs these days.

 

You were like me. The few I do possess I've been lucky enough to get second hand since all were long sold out. I do like Egyptian themes , but I'm a novice at it. Do I do enjoy doing what I call my Egyptian project. I just find them so colorful and beautiful.

@Bren - I do have plans for another doll based off a human version of the god Set (can anyone tell I'm a dog-person yet? ) I adore ancient Egyptian styles.

@april - They both look fantastic! Curious how they blushed the bottom of his feet. I can never be bothered with mine.

 

Dear MG owners, sorry, if it was discussed, but I have a question: what clothes fits better for MG? I have Phonolus Rauco of Fear. But I've still never seen clothes for MG to be sold(( only SD and IDE. IDE seems to be much bigger. I compared different measurements - EID model is the closest to my Phonolus. Has anybody tried this variant?

 

I've actually been quite successful using Iplehouse SID clothes for my Mega Gem.

 

EID is taller like ID72. JinCincy is right. Look for SID. You may find some at SartoriaJ also.

Sorry, I didn't see the notice that you had address me. The God Set? cool. I got two cat heads for Bastet, one white, another Black, which I ended up dividing the names to as Bas and Tet. Will look forward to the time when you get Set going.

@april, How funny. They did blush his feet. Love it. I love the Ender sandals. They sure went all out in them. I was lucky enough to find a set and the skirt with one arm band. The rest I haven't found.

@edelveizzz What @JinCIncy and @nancy_schroeder_ca suggest is the way to go.

 

Thnx a lot! I think, I should try some clothes for SID before purchase any. I compared measurements for SID and MG and MG seems to be bigger in chest and has longer arms. I was afraid clothes to be too tight on Phonolus.

I will try SID - clothes is very good fitting. I like your Monzo 'historical' style costumes - is it custom order or made by official company?
Also today I was lucky to buy custom-made shirt for my MG - I am happy (even more than I am happy about new clothes for me)))

@Bren - Yes! I'm hoping to perhaps buy his head this year if all goes well. I already have a body for him thankfully. I'm quite keen to take photos of the two together. I'd love to have a Bastet doll too, though I am partial to the Pipos sculpt rather than the Soom one. Your dolls sound fantastic! Would you mind sharing a photo?

How excited that you got the head. It may take time but the end result it's so worth it, no?

I only have a photo of both heads together that are in that role of servants to Anubis for that moment. I edited them a little so hopefully it will be okay.

What experience do you have with blush on MG bodies? I mean, how long it stays good looking. I wanted to order body blushing for my Phonolus, but previous owner did no recommended to do it as it didn't stayed on the body for a long time because of its size((

 

I think it depends more on how you handle and dress them.

@edelveizzz - While I can't speak for Soom's blushing, I completely blushed my MG guy and have never had issues with him chipping or damaging his blushing. He mostly hangs around either in long cloaks or just underpants depending on the season, and I do handle him frequently.

 

Thanks for feedback!! I think it worth trying. His sculpt is so attractive - blushing is 'must have'

 

So I come with a couple questions. I acquired a Frankenstein doll body that had its thigh's modded to the Phonolus fantasy thighs. I have his full legs too but I'm not really keen on his beasty legs/feet. What other soom fantasy legs could work with the fantasy thigh joints since I'm looking for other options for trying to figure out what to do with the body in general. Any help on this would be great!

I'm also assuming the super gem legs won't work with the joint in general which looks to be a very limited selection of mega gem fantasy parts.

 

Hmm, not sure to be honest. Though Super gem legs definitely won't work because they're too narrow at the knees. You'd have to mod them all over again.

 

I was afraid of that but I did see a super gem at a point using the same legs as Phonolus when I was going through their website limited to try and figure out what exactly my choices are for fantasy parts. I only really saw like 4 types of fantasy legs. Bat/gargoyle, hooves, crocodile, and the beast/wolf feet. So I'm guessing thats my only options unless even the main thigh joint part doesn't even work for getting different legs.

Which is why I came here asking lol I wouldn't be able to remod as the current one actually works rather well for the sizing. Anything smaller would be too small I think. So if anyone has any of those legs and the Phonolus mega gem legs (basically the full legs) with the other mega gem legs. A test would be great!

I'm not sure to be in the good place but 2 years ago I find a Soom Phonulus in second hand.
Today I receive the phonolus paws but they didn't fit on the legs....(color too)
That's normal ?

 

Hey there,
I don’t have a Soom mega gem anymore but I do own the phonolus fantasy legs set. (To eventually mod to another body).

The phonolus fantasy legs came with there own thigh set to attach to the mega gem body. So you don’t use the human mega gem thighs. They won’t work with the fantasy parts from the knee down.

I can take pictures of the full fantasy phonolus parts if you wish.

Power and weakness is right. You can't use the human legs to attatch the paws. Also It looks like you have different skin shades.

Like my Anubis. His body is Bronze ( There's also different shades of Bronze) but his hands are the other color that I can't remember at the moment what they are called. I always get them confused. I bought the hands to dye black for my Anubis project.



Edited to add: The hands are in tawny color. Just checked for you.
