Soom Little Gem Monthly Mini Doll discussion (part 7)

I ordered the outfit xD it's just too cute. I paid with paypal and it was my first purchase directly from Soom. Now I'm tempted to get a Shale/Adamelli but there's another limited doll I have my eye on that is cheaper so might have to wait for a future release. I don't have a Soom msd and I'm used to more mature mini proportions so I'm a bit hesistant to go for a Little Gem. I'm hoping I can get the outfit to fit on one of my girls even if I have to modify it a bit.

 

Ughh that dress is perfect. I kept waffling around with getting the Romantic head and the dress and ended up just the basic fantasy set. I've seen cream white release of Shale/Adamelli and someone's custom gold blushing on the hooves, it's gorgeous! I had it saved somewhere.

Crossed fingers! I been waiting for a Thera and Goss release with their sheep hooves. Mermaids would be a very close second favorite release!

I made the mistake in thinking I had experience with Soom fantasy colors but it was with the much smaller Petite Gems, so I'm really curious about fantasy color resins outside tan or any form of peach/pale skin. The gray color Soom resins was very nice. I'm excited about my first Soom Little Gem

 

same! they're very popular so they'll likely see a rerelease! im hoping for one in tawny skin which is painful...

 

My purple and white tail ladies were both shipped today, I am excited! Hopefully they arrive safe and sound before Christmas!

So they arrived... I haven't put everything together because I'm going to send out the tails for blushing in the new year, but they are gorgeous! The silver shimmer is quite strong on the purple tail in real life and makes it look a lot more grey in some lights. I'm looking forward to having all 3 of my mermaid girls finally complete so I can do group photos, but it will be a very long process for sure.

 

Was that purple a custom order? It's looks so cool

omg they're SO pretty I almost regret not snagging the white one. It really does look like pearls. I've only ever seen it in the small scale on horns and stuff. How are you going to blush them if you don't mind me asking - like which theme? The possibilities seem endless. Congrats!!

 

Thank you! So for the white one, I am going to have her themed like the pokemon Goldeen, so she’ll have pink/peach coloured details on the body of the fins. For the purple lady, she’ll have a gradient of teal and orange on the fin edge to mimic the ‘cosmic’ colour scheme that was used in their promo picture, and maybe some gold on the shell parts of her ear fins. And extra shimmer on everything!

Wow, the new Lig and Nodia looks so depressed, like the polar opposite of the past stylings which were so cute. Not at all what I expected, spooky winter fairies. But still beautiful. I like the dark grey color.
Then they were suddenly withdrawn a few hours later "due to unforseen circumstances" I hope that everyone is alright??

 

It will be fine, Soom pushes back their releases all the time - I always keep an eye on their calendar, and some releases have been pushed back as far as three months. Presumably it comes down to regular things like staffing/production levels, material availability and things like that.
Looking at the calendar, they had also planned 2 different releases for Lig and Nodia a day apart but they only had the ones in grey skin up as an L.E. 10. They might have some brighter colours in the regular release.

 

I wonder if they'll do something else in their place, or if it'll be radio silence until sometime in January.

 

I did a Layaway and tried to do a early payment ( not due for 8 more days ) but the option to input my c.c. isn't popping up. Do I wait for the exact Layaway date to make a payment?

How can we know which sculpt is schedule to rerelease this year? Do they have some yearly pre-announce?

After kept my crew in limited size for a long time. From this year onward I'm looking to add two more to my family, and soom little gem is one of the top candidate

 

It seems to be that unless there is a large event like an anniversary, that we’re reliant on the month to month calendar to see what goodies are coming up. I’m hoping to see Lig and Nodia on the calendar this month after the re-scheduling!

Well it was a month later than I thought, but the February calendar says we can expect the limited Lig and Nodia sets on the 6th, and the regular Lig and Nodia sets on the 7th. I am hoping for a pretty fantasy colour like blue or pink or green for the regular release!

 

It looks like Soom has released a new Little Gem Miyonnde. I think they are very cute but with a Ray and Luna re-release planned for later this month I’ll have to pass up on them. I’ve wanted a Luna for a while. The translucent tail and ears look very pretty though.

 

Miyonnde is ADORABLE I'm in love!! I might have to break my no doll ban...

 

I like Miyonnde quite a bit, but after carting everything up...oof. Shipping from Korea, why are you so expensive?

 

Curious, how much was it for you? It was $80 for me which feels right. But then again everything is getting so expensive now that if it's under $100 I feel alright about it. The bar is low ><

 

For me, it's $88.00. But I'm used to Resinsoul's shipping, free shipping from Alice's or Clover Singing, or shipping smaller dolls from Luts, so the shipping was a real shock to me.

 

MSD size from Luts is $70something so it's not too different tbh. Which is surprising because Luts shipping is VERY overpriced on most items. But yeah, $80 is a good deal ordering direct nowadays

 

I was excited when I saw the ad for the new Lux and Volo. But... only a limited edition lottery? No ability to just order one blank?

The limited faceup and outfit are pretty, but not my cup of tea.

 

@Layn I guess they will release normal version after the limited one. Just wait and see. But if they're not, someone is selling a blank Lux in Korean flea market. You might want to check that out

 

And yep! Normal Lux & Volo will come on 18th this month, following by Dorothy. (I'll be here and keep announcing monthly when I remember untill the sculpt I've waiting for eventually show up )

 

I've never thought that tuff & sueve will ever come out in dark fantasy mode.

Btw, I've found someone selling a little gem sculpt that I want (Turb& Roxen) in secondhand market, so I will take that. It will took a while sending the head to faceup artist and etc., but I'll be back here with some pictures when the doll is ready

 

So my girls came back from the spa and they are simply magnificent! Now I just need to make them some tops.



Just in time for the sculpt to be re-released from SOOM again.... I put in for the Brown Tan/Pink Tail combo raffle, but I think most likely they will all end up going to someone from China.
Mind you, the calendar says they will do a regular release on the 16th of this month, so I wonder what tail and skin combination that will be? I'd really love for it to be pink and a tan but that seems unlikely. If it's only a pink tail with a peony white skin I'm not sure I shall apply.

Question for those of you who own the mermaid Serin/Rico - how do the mermaid ears work? Do they go over the human ears? In place of the human ears? Behind them?

 

They go over the human ears and are held in place by magnets

 

@Chobittum And how does the mermaid tail do at sitting or posing?

 

Unfortunately, though it's very visually appealing, the tail is not a good poser. To make it do anything, you really need a stand in order to force the pose. When they're wearing the mermaid tail, they can't really sit - the best they can do is a sort of lean over. The picture I posted earlier is probably the best example of tail posing I can give you.

 

@Chobittum ah okay. I see what you mean. Well I will hopefully have a few more days to ponder this green iteration.

 

I must say, I was a bit disappointed to see that her tail wasn't actually green and it was just lime blushing over the top - I'd love an actual lime green tail!

I saw the new Cheshire on Soom, I love those new hands.

My Cheshire is excited to get a 2nd outfit.

 

I'm excited about the re-release of Pistrix and Selmor! I absolutely love her little mouth, but I didn't like the skin tones she was available in for the first offering.... now I just have to make up my mind between cream and bronze. She'll be a human friend for all my mermaids!

 

@Chobittum What a wonderful choice! I love them too. The smiling face is really cute too. Instantly cheered when I saw it.

 

Decided to go with Bronze Selmor in the end, excited to bring her home! Out of curiosity, what do people think are the male/female versions? For me personally, I'm thinking Selmor is the female, and Pistrix is the male.

 

@Chobittum usually Soom will set the sculpt name as Male & Female

For example my doll, Turb(male)& Roxen(female) also got release once in 2021 as Turb only and he's a boy only version.

This also happened with
Erland & Aisling
Shale & Adamelli
and many of the sculpts

There are also a few exception case like Raphie & Velio when soom choose to put the girl name first, but in most of the case I'll stick with the norm and will also think Selmor is the female, and Pistrix is the male.

Just wanted to pop in and see if anyone else was thinking about Soom (The Gem) and their little gems. They started going pretty much little gem only, then the design very sharply changed with Jello (if I'm remembering right) and a few more releases, then? The release calendar is gone and there hasn't been any updates since the end of November. They were pretty consistent before. I know they're working on a new project, but I just noticed how fast everything changed. I've been struggling with their LG since the body change (I really can't get myself to like it) but they seemed popular anyway. So I hope everything is okay with them. Stil regret not getting Pistrix/Selmor in tan

 

I have actually been thinking about this! I am a bit worried they are maybe shutting down production entirely, but I sincerely hope not.

 

Glad I'm not alone in wondering. Some things were ominous and made me worried. I know they're trying new things and focusing on expanding, but I hope they say something soon? Or maybe surprise us with a release.

 

I kept checking their site about this too. Now I'm glad I went for Turb& Roxen in the end of 2023, that might be my last chance, who know.

A bit regret I didn't get that last Dorothy...

Living in a small space limited the number of doll I can keep in collection. So I guess I can't help them much on my part. But I really hope they will come back, with usual monthly little gem at least, those sculpts are really precious and having high potential. I feel sad if they will gone like this

Just when we were worried! A new doll lol. She's adorable. Reminds me of someone but I'm not sure who, maybe Fairyland phoeb? She's so cute. Very tempting to get her as a boy

 

It's an old model (older than Phoeb) but the doll is really lovely !!

 

Oh I'm sorry, I meant the paint. Just like her general "vibe" was reminding me, but yeah she's an older sculpt. I really wanted her back when they had the one with the Volo legs come out. Her face is super versatile.

I think the faceup look great this time though, quite general and easy to work with.

 

My Soom Serin "Flower of Evil" version arrived in January, but her stand didn't arrive until today so I haven't been able to pop her on display and take photos. I'm absolutely thrilled with her, she's such a gorgeous doll! I'm fairly certain I used all my luck last year when I was selected (my number isn't a winner or even a runner-up, I must be a third or even fourth level selection hahaha!). Now Selmor just needs to come home from the spa and all of my dolls will be complete!

 

Sorry for the double post, but my Soom Selmor arrived home from the spa today! I've dressed her as a little sailor because she's friends with all my mermaids. I absolutely adore Selmor's cute little mouth, and she looks great in the tan skin!
