Soom Idealian - a new type of soomed?

I just got a reply from LeeJin unni...

First, the new ID_ealian will be released as soon as possible, "probably" at the end of November.

Secondly, they will refund ALL payments made, so we have to order again when the new ID_ealian is out!

Actually, I have been following it and when everyone started ooooing about the pictures I tried to see them then. But thanks, Miss Ally-at least I know I don't have to try again until November!

 

Hopefully it is the end of November. And they are refunding EVERYONE's money back? It seems easiest. ^_^;;

 

Maybe to avoid more confusion...? Because some of us, like me, is on layaway plans... But at least I don't lose my Guardian status and will be able to order him later! She also said "you will like the new him, I am sure".................. and I'm glad for the 10% discount... Now I'm going to save money so I can buy him in full (no layaway and no fee) and still get a 10% discount. Yay~

 

Agreed. I def. want him when they re-release him if he's not too changed.

 

I'm looking forward to seeing what they change. He looked really beautiful before, so I hope it isn't too much of a change. (Please don't change those awesome teeth, Soom! Or if you do, please make the ones from the previous pics available? Please?)

The teeth as a separate inset, also, is WONDERFUL, please keep that! It will make him much easier to paint, also. Hm... it would be great to be able to get extra teeth, though -- human and fangy? Or extra sets. I'd gladly paint one normal, and one 'gory' just because, and change them when necessary.

resubscribing to the thread. sorry to hear the idealian won't be up for sale for now but i guess it's both good and bad. i'm hoping when they re-release the doll, we won't be expected to jump through too many hoops to get him. le sigh. all this crazy marketing and etc... and now. D:

eta: does anyone else have issues accessing the new site? ><; i love soom dollies but omg trying to purchase one is just getting more and more difficult. D: why why why?

 

It actually makes me feel better about buying from a company that would actually halt production on an item instead of pushing out an inferior product and taking everyone's money and just dealing with the upset customers later.

With what I saw on the precious pics of this guy I can see where there might be some problems in his construction, especially being as big as this guy is spose to be. I just hope they don't change the overall sculpt of him. He was soooo gorgeous.

 

Has anyone receieved their refund for the Idealian yet? Just curious, bc I haven't. >_<

 

Well I am eager to see how this new creation will play out. And waiting for them to finish development is fine with me. Gives me more time to save money.

 

I sincerely hope that Soom will release this boy again at some point. He was perfect for my collection.

 

Ah, discussion room's back! Well, personally the fact that the site is still there is reason enough for me to be hopeful. If they weren't going to release him, or something Idealian, then they would logically take it down,as maintaining it is a waste of time and money otherwise, correct? So until the site goes away, I assume it will be used eventially.

I have a feeling they were watching the thread. Considering the critique of the way the arms and shoulders were hanging, perhaps they're revising that portion of the body sculpt? Something like that could very easily take a great deal of time to do, more than just a quick fix or small revision, especially considering all of the refinements and innovations they were working in to this sculpt over all.

Also, with concerns about tan resins all over the place, making him initially in tan... well, they may have also wanted to really test that new tan mixture they were using before release. I know Iplehouse has had a lot of troubles and woes with their tans and had to offer replacements and such -- considering the number of orders Soom gets and all the fuss with their new site, tackling a potential problem with a tan resin that could prove problematic months down the road may not have been something they were in the mood to take on just then.

I sincerely hope they do eventually release him, even if my wallet is cringing wildly at the very thought of it.

 

I personally am glad they are revising some things on him. I am looking forward to the re-release. I personally didn't see the point in fingerprints as one point. If I were to get him...I can definitely see sanding those off. -shrug- just my personal taste of course.

 

I definitely hope they release him next year. Knowing Soom it will come
at the worst time possible (for me) but I can't see saving up for him
not knowing if/when it will be. I hope that they will do a regular release
for him though, devoid of any secret society pledging or oaths.

I'd like to see him someday too, but really, no hurry. I'd rather see Soom clear up all the orders they have now from the Christmas kits and the monthlies, than rush a new doll into production and just have more order confusion result.

 

Exactly bunnydots; most people appear to feel that way.

Now, just incase Soom ARE reading this thread... I would personally like to see:
-Less veins!
-Less of a flexed 'just-finished-exercising' look, without losing muscle tone
-A lengthened/more proportionate torso and fuller butt
-A more masculine face - smaller eyes, bigger chin, less bee-stung lips

I hope they don't change his build too much; I love how he is not as stocky as the Iplehouse EID boys. I like the 2-part torso & I also prefer the alignment of his legs (Iplehouse seem slightly knock-kneed.. to me, anyway!) And yes, if they bring back that pledging/exclusivity business, I'll be unhappy >

im holding hope with everyone else here that he'll be released again, it's a lot of work to suddenly pull the plug--at the same time i can't help but wonder if soom requested the thread locked? i kept meaning to pm a mod about it, it was kinda weird :/. anyway, can't wait to see him sometime next year (hopefully)

 

I like his veins and his face..those were my favorite parts....and his body. But everyone has their own opinions.

I think the part of him that made me fell in love WAS his face..he's such a sweet but masculine face. I think he looks masculine tho.

 

Yes I agree XxBrittox, his face is nicely masculine already.. and I don't reeeally mind a few veins.. so yes, we must wait and see!

There were some problems within the company and that's the reason he ended up being pulled from sale.
They're re-working him and he will be back, so don't worry too much about him never seeing the light of day again!

Sadly none of the progress pics are there. They really showed you the detail of the sculpt

Just to let you guys know..if you go on google.com and type in Soom Idealian..some of the brain pics and concept pics of his face plate and such came up.

Does (did) this doll have a brain?! Are there other dolls with brains?

 

Yup ^^ he had a brain. The brain seemed to act as a hook to attach the elastic too (rather than have a S-hook that most dolls traditionally have).

As far as I know there are no other dolls with brains apart from the ones owners have modded to have brains or have had brains made for them , although this is usually done for aesthetic or humorous purposes rather than to be useful.

Oh my goodness! He's so handsome! I do hope they release him soon! I guess by then I'll just have to chuck my "no 70cm rule" out the window... He's so realistic, it's scary!
