Soom Idealian 75cm Discussion Part 10

The brown tan is gorg on him! If I hadn't already shelled my Sumerian God character with a tan R.dean S.Rei I would have jumped at this chance. But as of now if I get another Dokkebi Garion I need a fantasy color like blue (would die for a dark blue), black or violet but I don't see them releasing those not in LE anytime soon if they release them ever at all LOL.

Even though the peony skin color one I have now is a bit plain as far as skin tone it actually works well for the character I have. My only gripe is I kind of wish he was the regular or scar head instead of romantic as you can't really see the awesome set of VA eyes I have in him. I would actually buy a peony or cream scar head if they ever released him.

 

It would have been nice if they also offered him in Peony White only so I could have gotten a human head to go with my Dokkebi version.

 

Same here, I got Garion but human only, something about the Dokkebi doesn't quite grab me enough, and I think I'd prefer him in a fantasy colour but we all know soom wants to sell those for 3k instead LOL. I'll just wait it out, I'm not in a hurry anyway since I have enough boys invading my house already.

 

@Setsura Nice! I do like human Garion is very handsome too! I just don't have a character for him haha (which is a good thing for me rn anyway).

Yeah they do like their 3K cash grabs LOL. I just don't know if I would ever think it was worth it since the only time I had ever wanted a Soom limited and not wanted to wipe the faceup or sell all the clothes was with the violet Garion. Not because I didn't enjoy the faceups but violet garion was the only time a fullset matched the character I had already planned lol. I would prefer custom faceups on most of my dolls. I'd feel awful wiping it too since there would only be like 5-10 made of their limiteds. Like it would be wasteful or something. Haha idk but I guess I just have reverence for ultra limited full sets, they are like their own art pieces and should be preserved.

 

I feel similarly, although I have seen some people who have wiped their LE5/LE8s in favour of another faceup. I personally would not be able to bring myself to do it, and if I'm buying something so expensive, I wouldn't want to have to then resend it out for another faceup. I feel like someone else would just enjoy the entire thing more than me, and I'd rather it go to them instead of me hodge podging something else together.

My LE8 Hyperon has suffered a lot of damage to his faceup, and I have contacted RDean and asked if she would be able to fix it while I was in Korea, but the reply was as I had already suspected and she confirmed it for me (which is that it's not possible due to contractual reasons with Soom). I think if his faceup continues to worsen to a point over time where it looks really raggy, I'd try to see if I would be able to commission RDean to give him another of similar aesthetic, but it wouldn't be able to be directly replicated due to the contract. Even then, I'd feel sad wiping it, I don't think I could do it hahahaha. I'd probably just let her do the erasing.

 

Has anybody received their Ender from the recent release pre-order? I’m just really excited to receive mine and wanted to ask here if anybody has gotten their’s yet.

 

@The Yellow Sign It's only been 90 days since released and on the site Soom says Ender can take 60-130 days (after the day you paid in full). It's usually 100 days, however if I recall correctly they added extra stock so probably the reason for the extended deadlines. Some may ship soon though depending when the person paid in full and if they actually need 130 days or can deliver standard time. I just finished my layaway last month so honestly not expecting to see a notice until Oct but will be pleasantly surprised if he comes early though! My Garion shipped around 93-95 days after layaway.

when you are searching for things you can add ‘出’ to your search. This character mean "to sell". Characters to avoid are "求“，“蹲”，“收” general terminology for wanting to purchase/acquire something.

Random question for everyone, but has anyone experienced a glitch on the website where their entire order history is gone? I'm trying to pay for other installments of my Garion, and I'm certain I'm on the correct account, but it says I have no order history and I'm also waiting on Ender and stuff. Extremely confused right now (and a little worried)

 

I checked my account and my order history shows up. You could screenshot the page where it says no order history and upload to their Q&A board to get their CS to look into it. You can also trace your order numbers via the email confirmations received, to quote as references for the Cs to check.

 

Does anyone know if Hwa-in will ever have a regular opening like Hyperon last month? Dying to get him

 

@amelia1996 Only Soom knows that answer for sure since they haven't mentioned anything. The closest thing we got was the 30 limited quantity last year. Your best bet is to contact Soom and let them know you're interested in hopes they decide to release him.

@RamenNoodle The ones from Soom aren't molded on the feet. You can remove them. They were just selling the shoes along with the feet. If you look closely you can see the gap where the toes start. They also have a pic of Ender in tights which they couldn't do if it were molded. I bought 2 pairs of them (bronze and normal) but I also bought some and some more heels from that Taobao seller too for peony white and cream white. The deal is certainly alot better from the TB seller and lots more heel options.

 

This is correct, the heels from Soom are made of resin and can be separated from the foot. I have them at home.

The other heels are made by Jack's BJD house, which is affiliated with DFH and often makes things for them.

The sculptor Jack has made this heeled foot slightly bigger than their heeled foot for their DFH75 2.0 body, and the shoes won't be compatible with each other. Certainly, I have the DFH75 2.0 feet and heels at home and they are a lot smaller and look awkward on ID75 unless it has the shoes on. The ID75 ankle is a lot chunkier, same with the ID75 heeled foot.

The foot from Jack looks slimmer but it's still a bit small in my opinion, I find the official soom ones to look more proportional, but it's a matter of personal taste. If you want colours other than what Jack has listed on TB, you can ask, but they have to fulfil a minimum order of 10 by end order date (which is end of this month I believe). I requested soom grey but they only have 3 orders so far. Soom cream and Peony white were added this way via minimum 10 orders from requests of Chinese players.

Hello. Bit of a feeler question. Does anyone have pictures of a Idealian 75 with different size eyes?

 

What different sizes are you looking for?

 

16mm? I have some of those since the majority of by boys are SD17.

 

Most IDs have rather small eye holes that differ from sculpt to sculpt, release to release. I've found for the most part most of them will not take 16mms, or they can take it if the 16mm is on the smaller side and not as deep.

Ideally, 14mm works the best. Personally the majority of mine wear 14/5, but I think anything from 14/4~14/6 is reasonable. 14/7 looks too big in my personal opinion.

 

Seconded! I think a 14mm small iris is the best. 14/7 tends to look slightly too big. 12mm can gap in some sculpts on the side-- even if the iris is perfect.

 

Jumping in to say that 14mm narrow is the best option. Their eye holes are pretty small and in order to achieve that more "realistic" or manly, attractive look it'd probably need to be narrow. A wide iris makes them look too boy-like and doe-y.

 

@Littlebirdzoom make sure you're logging into the correct language account (or make sure you didn't place your orders on a different language site).

The new sculpt Roben looks amazing to me. I am not a fan of his wig styling in the photos for some reason, but the sculpt itself is up in my alley hahaa. I have a character I am now debading if I should get him for... The duck lips (I think it will be a turn off for some ppl maybe) remind me a bit of the human version of Amor, which is my favourite sculpt, so I am very much ready to click the buy button everytime I end up in the Soom website... ughh.. I was supposed to get only one big boy this year, but now I am weak... Soom has released so many good sculpts this year I am also eager to see what is still coming, but we will see... they love to ruin my plans in the best way by all these great releases.

 

I like Roben but I think I would like a slightly different faceup. But I have no room for more big boys currently!

According to the website, Grand Senior Delf has the same foot size as Idelian's ID75, so probably should fit the same shoes for bouth.

It's been a while since Soom released an idelian's girl. So pretty and so rare. I've sold my Eden a couple of months ago...

Did anyone here buy Edgar? He is so beautiful, but I don't have room for more dolls at the moment.

 

I have an Edgar from last years release but the faceup from this one was really good. I did snag those cream white heels though. I love Roben's look but don't have a need for him right now. He is very gorg if they release him in fantasy colors down the line I might snag him.

 

Roben is very lovely. I love his head a lot. I’m considering getting him and honestly the biggest motivator for me is the fact I think he’ll be rare. Everyone seems to be hesitating on him— I feel like there just might not be any second hand and I don’t know if Soom would rerelease (still thinking about ID75 Sabik, Mason, and Benito).

Yes, so true. He would be a good shell for one character of mine, so I am scared if I don't get him, I might not get a change later. Soom seems to have those sculpts that have not been rereleased again.

 

The reason Mason and Benito will not get a re-release is due to the nature of them looking like certain existing people in real life. I can't remember where they said it, but it was officially mentioned by Soom that they will not release them again.

 

@Setsura who are the people? I just looked them up, Benito looks like Benedict Cumberbatch and Mason looks like Mads Mikkleson to me (which would make sense given the names are kinda similar).

Yes, I remember when they mentioned on Twitter they wouldn't release them again. (Such a sad day ha!)

But they're have a good chunk of sculpts we haven't seen in a while (off the top of my head, Sabik, Albany, Ebony, Calais, David, Xian, maybe Kahn?) and they had a long, long dry patch of free choice, so I don't take any of those for granted.

 

Kahn was in last year's free choice, as were Albany and Calais. There was some rumour I heard about Xian and him not being released again, but I don't have any data to back it up so I will assume it is naysaying and to take it with a grain of salt.

David and ID68s in general are not very popular compared to other sculpts, so I can understand their lack of wanting to re-release those. However, I've seen a good handful of people ask for Sabik. I wonder if it's something to do with the mold, as his face from The Gem to ID changed a lot.

 

Yeah, when they resculpted him from Mecha Angel to Idealian, they did a great job. I really loved the changes. Sabik is the one I would have thought they’d have brought back already.

 

Just picked up a double head artist version Phonolus in Bronze! I love this dude so much. My 5th Phonolus, waiting for a pretty Vampire one to show up and also an OG Mega Gem version with the beast body to buy in the future too.

I know there are a lot of Hyperon stans out there but Phonolus really is (to me) the most beautiful Soom boy.

I was wondering though Setsura; is the actual posture of the face/overall proportions of the features of the Tiger Ear (believe it is Rauco of fear) Phonolus actually slightly different than the human version ones? The Rauco one always strikes me as having particularly large eyes and an overall more diminuative/shorter/slimmer nose...

 

At a glance it looks basically the same to me, except one has giant ears and one does not. I do have both versions at home though, so I'll take a picture later when I get around to it. The faceup can make a big difference, and for some reason, soom always in the past had a habit of putting terribly ill fitting 14/7mms in his eyes which made him look like a giant bug lmfao.

 

Lol, now that is true, though it does give them quite the look; 14/5 seems to look the most realistic. Yeah and those ears are something else, I really love them – it's as though the junior designers put elf ears on him and management said "Nah, too pedestrian, he needs to look like he's about to take flight or no dice".

Well, I'm here for it.

I would absolutely love pics between the two, if at all possible.

 

Found an older pic of my dudes chilling (one of the tiger heads got yeeted as I didn't want another WS one, will replace it with a tawny MG version with all beast parts if possible at a later date). They look basically the same to me eye wise in the picture and in real life to be honest.





The R version has different ears to the OE version. The original sculptor of Phonolus is Yurick (the owner of Illusion Garden), who made the tiger head and the original 'human' head was an R head along with the OE Tiger. OE human only appeared later afterwards, along with MPhonolus. I believe what happened is that OE Human was revised later on by another sculptor (you can see this on the soom website where several sculptors were listed as contributing to Phonolus), and the M version stems off the R since they have the same eyes.

 

Maybe I missed something in an announcement somewhere, but I'm pretty upset that PayPal is back but only for non layaway. They're charging me the fee anyway, so why can't I do the installments? I'm happy my credit card works for the layaway system, but this is still pretty annoying.

Either way, I snagged some of the parts last night. The WS Phonolus is really gorgeous, but I told myself no more than 2 Idealians and I currently have 4 and am struggling to part with two of them so xD Looks like it'll just be clothes and parts for me for a while. I have Hwa-in, Xian, Ender and Garion and it seems like so many. I'm really hoping they release Xian again so I can maybe get mine in a different skin tone. And honestly Ender too. I got mine from the last release but I'd love him in a fantasy tone tbh. I wish they'd do that purple more often

 

I'm thinking non-layaway paypal is because then people are paying all at once and less likely to file disputes if they suddenly cant complete the layaway but want all their money back still. A way to mitigate that issue.

I also snagged parts. Got the head wing parts for my Austaras since I am revamping his character into a version of a biblically correct angel. Thought about getting the other horns but they looked massive lol

Speaking of purple I really do like their pictures of it but I am noticing in owner photos the resin tone is a alot more grey. Even the Glati I got in purple is more dark greyish purple. The purple for the limited Garion looks a bit better, like a lighter grey purple which lets the purple come out more but I wish the purple tone was as vibrant in person as it is online in promo pics.

 

The Comienzo horns are huge and totally over the top, but it vibes with what I'm going for so I got them haha. But I agree it's a giant chunk and it's also a giant chunk of $$$ for just horns. The Aleron wings have been released several times in other colours with various other dolls and they work great in all sorts of situations and make cute MSD sized back wings too. I've got like 5 pairs of them at home and I'm still not bored haha.

Re colours:
Pale Violet is super light and any owners who had this colour from the gem line basically suffered from it turning to a super light grey and losing all purple.

Light Violet shows up very purple in certain lighting, it's more of a blue based purple and can be flashed as looking grey in certain light, but if you put it next to a grey doll, it's most definitely purple and not grey. My LE8 Light Violet Hyperon has definitely faded a little over time to be less vibrant.

Viola Purple is a muted purple with heavy grey tones, the recent LEs that were in this colour received some minor flak in China for leaning too heavy on the grey side and not enough on the purple tones, but I believe this is the most stable purple colour that soom offers.

 

Thank you so much for this, it made everything a lot more clear. It seems the nose projection, mouth posture and width were the things that struck me. I think its the 1st pictured (pic 1) tiger eared one, on the far left in pic 2 that really speaks to me the most. Someone was selling one on Instagram and it was gone within an hour so I think a lot of people really love him (in general) too. I also really dig Shoshon aswell; I'm a tremendous sucker for big doe eyes.

 

@Setsura Thanks for the info about the purples! Hopefully they can formulate a more stable vibrant purple someday.

Also I’d be very interested to see the end result of what you do with those horns. They do look super cool!

I know Soom resin colors can vary wildly from batch to batch, but on average would you say Soom normal is more pink or yellow toned?

 

Pink for sure!

 

These days especially, it leans very heavily on the red side.
