Aesthetics faceup practice and other stuff (2023)

Just started getting back into the hobby. Let’s use this page as a documentation of my improvement (if I do end up improving )



First time trying to post an image to doa :/ so complicated let me go create a flickr account for this

 

First ever face up on an anime head! This is like 50% of the reason why I jumped back into the hobby :P Anime dolls are soo darn cute haha and I find that know matter how bad my face up is they still look cute lol

Second anime face up. My eyebrows are like distant cousins, but I'll live. You won't be able to tell once I put on a wig lol.

And the third and most recent face up I did. Got a little full of myself so I decided to try for a cute expression. Kinda worked? But once I finished I realized that I forgot to fill in the inner eye lld but I'm too lazy to fix it. I'll probably remove and redo all of the faceups once I go through all of my blank doll heads anyways

(this time the eyes are like stepsisters, related only becase they live on the same face XD)

This is the face up that I’m currently most happy with. Imda - sleepy amellia.


Here she is again with an alpaca wig & resin eyes I made. I have a dress that I was trying to make for her. I cut out all of the pattern pieces but once again I've been procrastinating...


Also ended up redoing this 3 ish year old on my first every doll from little monica (now dead :'( so sad). She's originally a male sculpt but I've paired him with a girl body. Not too happy with how the colors goes together, especially the eyebrows. So I will definely redo her faceup soon


looks okay ish though under a warm light and with a wig, so I may continue to procrastinate


Finally my first attempt at doing a faceup on a 75cm male doll. This is a scuplet called Alexi by C.Yaoo. Managed to nab an extra head despite missing the original order period. But I didn't have a choice when it came to the skin color. Would have prefered something paler.


Kinda failed at putting in false lashes, but not a bad first attempt? Anyways he doesn't have a body yet lol, so just sitting around on my shelf right now.
