*:* Soom Idealian 72cm Discussion Part VIII *:*

Oh wow. I love those prayer hands. But I'm just not that in love with Kay (or Dia - I'm not too keen on the mouth of either of them, though the eyes are lovely). If he were on the ID72 body I might be tempted, but the ID75 is just too tall for such a gentle, young looking sculpt IMO.

On another note, does anyone here have the Gentle Homme release of Aslan? Is that head bigger than the Mega Gem version? Or is it the same head, just on the Idealian body?

 

I ended up asking out of curiosity and they said they didn't design him a face up this time around for them to replicate. So I think you could be right.

 

Yes, I got him in white; I love what R.Dean did with these face ups, so they'll head to her. I think I want some more green undertones around the eyes...and gold in the eyebrows

 

Oh I could recognise that Kay's faceup was done by R.Dean. But is R.Dean still open for commissions? Recently she's making resin eyes and seems really into it. I guess this could be a possible reason why Soom doesn't give faceup option this time?

 

No, she's not open now. But it'll be months before I'll send the heads to her, lol. Sure she'll be open by then .

 

Yeah, that seems like a good idea. She seems to open her faceup commissions sporadically, probably due to her popularity. I love the faceup she gave Kay-- those lips are so recognizable.

 

It's been awhile since I post something here. My Hiro just got some new clothing, I bought them from 月夜行歌 taobao. I can't express how excited I am, the fabric is too good!!
I have no intention to do anything aesthetic yet, just plain photos from camera to show off his new clothes. I will find time and suitable places for his photo shoot later. My Hiro looks very happy !

@Blancasia Your Hiro looks great in these clothes! I'm also a fan of 月夜行歌's Chinese ancient outfit! They are so detailed and look especially gorgeous on Idealian body! I was lucky enough to win the sell lottery (? not sure what it's called in English) for her Black Dragon set this year! Can't wait to put them on my ID guy!

My friend also have the Black Dragon set, she said it took her 2 hours to put everything on . I can feel her, I have struggled for an hour and a half to finished everything .

Hey guys,question time - can ID75 shirts fit ID72? I'm hoping to get some suit from them. I'm looking at FreedomTellers website and loved how the ID75 body looks compare to the past EID (superhero -which was daggy). Can the shirt be buttoned up?

 

It’s really going to depend on the cut of the shirt and how fitted it is. The ID75 body is quite a bit skinnier and I often can’t button the soom outfits for ID75 on my 72s. But sometimes I get lucky and they fit. Freedom Teller tends to be more fitted than some other companies so I would try to find some measurements etc. Also, the shoulder width could also be an issue. I wish I could be more help

 

Wait, what??? I was under the (apparently mistaken) impression that ID75 was just a longer-legged version of ID72.

Does anyone have both and not mind posting a couple of comparison pictures? My mind is blown.

i just hope soom can reopen grey kahn, gluino, phonolus again. Kahn was not a huge hit, but I really like him in grey skin!! Hope I can own him someday.

 

Maybe you can try to ask Soom on their Q&A board. I asked them about their monthly schedule, they said they wouldn't provide it but you can always ask them whether or not they will release a specific doll this year, though it's not 100% accurate as they sometimes change their plans.

Good news for those are waiting for Garion, just got confirmed by Soom that the next “previous” Idealian will be Garion, but his releasing skintone is still not decided yet, he will probably be shown up in the middle or end of October (and of course the next “new” Idealian will be in the end of September)

About the way they changed their plan...and yes of course! Last time I asked about Kay on the QA board on July and they answered me by saying there’s no plan for him...and he just showed up, with a wonderful new sleeping head!

@Khlovera Thanks a lot for your news! So the next Idealian will be a new sculpt? That's exciting! I hope it's going to be in special skin tones (Soom, please). I also want to see more heads with special face expressions!

 

@Khlovera that is really good news! I know a lot of people have him on their wishlist, and he is one of the nicest Soom sculpts

I wonder what skintone he will be offered, because they dont do rereleases of the same skintone if I remember correctly? The last time he was offered in white, normal and tawny with also brick red being a special skin option

So that means Bronze is the only color he wasnt offered in (out of their "regular" skins). I really really really hope for Bronze because Its the nicest of the tans Ive come across, and with Halloween approaching, I wouldnt be surprised if the horned head was available and maybe a bit optimistic of a new limited version skin color too (if they do it, I hope its not something ridiculous like an LE3 - LE20 at minimum please!)

@Twisty I would definitely get the hands! They dont seem to rerelease those special hands :/
I mean, those heart shaped hands, the special long claw hands, the mid length nails hands, never saw them rereleased out of their ordering periods

Jonathan is beautiful by the way, your dolls always look amazing out of their stock makeup. Some of your dolls make me double take because their stock photos look ok to me, but your actual reimagined ones look wow

@cowpewter I was always under the impression that 75 was a long leg version of the 72 but there is a big difference, I now understand why some fans want the 72 to still be an option when ordering their dolls. Those thigh muscles and calves... someone never missed leg day

 

Thank goodness that it's not Narmer. If it was I would cry because I don't have the funds yet and I want to concentrate on getting a formal suit from Freedom Teller for my Hyperon. Boy! One of their suit already sold out! I wonder if FreedomTeller stock back them or not?
Anyway I hope towards the end of the year or early next year I'll ask SOOM to release Narmer. Love Narmer so much!

 

Do they not offer the 72 body at all anymore?? I was under the impression that it depended on the individual sculpt. Oh, I hope they haven't discontinued it entirely. I'm one of those people who really prefer it to the 75 - especially after seeing that it isn't just a long-leg 72.

 

@GammaVector It totally depends I think, but they dont do it as frequently as their 75
Last time I think it was Romantic Hyperon that was available until end december 2018, he had two body options, but before that, there wasnt much of it offered and I remember reading about people wishing it was back

 

If you want the ID72 body as an option, you should let Soom know on the Q&A board. They did offer it on the first few releases but it may not have been popular enough. Soom does remember and act on the requests they get even if you get a "I'll pass it on to the design team" response.

 

@Khlovera : Thanks Again for letting us know the next "Previous" Idealian sculpt. Garion is a great mature looking sculpt. I might be tempted to host a split.

I hope whoever has Garion on their wishlist is able to get him this time around.
I'll have to pass on him as I put a NS Kay on layaway last minute before his order period was scheduled to close. I had to take the plunge. I loved my Super gem sard Fc, who I re-homed years ago. So I'm Glad to reshell him as a big guy as I love the Idealian size. So his Project should keep me busy when he arrives early next year to get him faced up and how I envision him.

@Zhenwu according to their one-new-followed-by-a-previous basis, I believe the next one after Kay will be a new mold, seems like Idealian starts to work with some other sculptor too, we can easily see their different style from the typical Soom mold and the recent ones (Benito, David, Vincent etc) I’m also a super fan of the fantasy skintone, especially light violet or pale violet

@GreenTeaSlug me too! Wonder a lot what are the skintones offered for Garion this time. As they usually offer 2 choices, at lease one of NS or CW should be shown up. Annnnnd, I can easily tell how much that I HATE the LE3 or LE5...come on Soom, let’s make LE20 inside of LE3 or 5.


@Tangmalangaloo I’ve asked about their releasing plan of Narmer recently (or my friend did lol) the answer is they don’t sadly.

Garion is really on the wish list for a few ID lovers, hope they will be able to bring their grail come true.

I prefer ID75 body more as the legs appear shorter eventually for ID72 lol

 

@Khlovera I would be very surprised if they don't release Narmer again! They don't seem to plan very far ahead and certainly don't share plans that aren't fairly firm.I think they don't want people to be disappointed if the plans change.

I might be wrong, but "Project doll" is a coming doll event in Seoul. It's on Sep 29th. Sullivan will be sold as the pre-order doll at that event.

Not sure if he will be sold on the website, chance is small though.

According to my observation, if they post a release news with a photo from their previous sale then it means it's an event doll.

@Chikku are you searching for a Benito? Idealian announced that they will also have project doll on Benito as one off model. Now I just want to let Soom know that WE need some online event also...look at their internal or special event at DP drives me crazy, Soom, WE NEED AN ONLINE EVENT!

Im very very very excited for Garion and wish for Bronze (and for everyone here who ordered Kay with the sleeping head!). As far as Sullivan goes, Im okay with passing him, he's a bit too young looking for my liking

 

I am! It feels like I’ve been searching everywhere. He has such a low online presence. I can’t wait to see what they do with the one off.

I wish Soom would do more events. It feels like we’re overdue for one, right? Especially FCS (with Benito please!!!)
