*:* Soom Idealian 72cm Discussion Part VIII *:*

Does anyone know what hapoening to Freedom Teller? Are they planning to cancel out all the EIDs outfits? All their EIDs outfits are out of stock. It would be sad if they phased out this line since those clothes can fit ID72. I thought they were going to concentrate on making 75cm clothes but it feels like ages ago since the last limited outfits which presumably didnt do too well I guess.

@Tangmalangaloo Yeah they stopped SID women and men clothing, and it looks like they are also not making anymore EID clothing unless its a special limited edition I guess. I was told they were not making SID clothing but they didnt say anything about EID so I guess its not on their focus, but not cancelled yet. But there is good news, I was told because they are still catching up to the last limited edition preorder that they pushed back the ID75 clothing release, and that it would be coming in September if they hopefully catch up

@marci12 the clothes were definitely worth the wait and the price! Now he looks like his moodier twin. I think you should name him something similar meaning or an opposite of Hwa-in, he looks official so great job on setting him up all together like this. The Amor face is probably my favorite after Hyperon

 

My Ender in his luxurious clothes!! It looks so gorgeous on the ID75 body. Featuring the cat tree because I had no idea where to stand this tall guy... Having him fully clothed helped me realize just how tall he is.

So the next ID release has been revealed. It will be Kay in white skin (seems like?). Soom actually already gave the hint on their Korean twitter so...no big surprise.

I love Kay in that makeup and coloring, he does look like he is white skin. I question if this release will have another skin option... Its probably not going to be since they rarely use this skin color, but I would really love it if he also came in Bronze
I think that skintone with the makeup will look nice. Tawny would be cool too, but I guess it wont be this time since the last time he was offered in normal and tawny skin?

Probably better if they dont offer him in bronze skin, this year for the doll hobby it feels like a financial nightmare so Im with you @marci12 ... so many good releases, so many rare limiteds rereleased and so many good dolls released this summer. Its like torture prioritising, or trying to make up your mind on what you want with all the dead lines and limited numbers

I could be wrong but I think it won't have tawny this time because they sold Kay in tawny skin at the Korea DP just a few days ago. On twitter Soom said later they were going to sell Kay in another skin type on the website. That's why I could tell the new release was going to be Kay. But bronze...could still be. Finger crossed for you LOL.

 

I know it’s a long shot with Kay but I’m hoping they release him in normal skin with the white release as well.

I’m thinking I’d love to get him in normal resin and give him a supergem orig. Sard face up.

My wallet is in luck again. I'm not too interested in Kay, so I'm safe for now!

 

Can someone correct me or not but is Kay an idealian version of a soom Dia? I've ntoived that Kay, Dia, and Sard all have similar sculpts...but maybe it's me idk lol

 

@Crudnuts jup, Kay pretty much is a larger Dia. Their facial structure is overall very, very similar.

 

@Crudnuts You're right. Soom "imported" some of their Gem sculpts to Idealian line. Sard/Dia is one of them.

It was confirmed that only white skin is available this time.


I wish Soom could also announce their monthly schedule for Idealian, just like they do for The Gem line. It will help us manage our spending, and I won't need to wait for weeks to know whether or not the new release is what I've been waiting for.

 

@GreenTeaSlug I’ve asked Soom about their releasing plan for Kay back in May and they answered me by saying there’s no plan for him lol. Unfortunately Kay will only going to be released under white skin this time and the skintone that I want so bad is tawny tawny is offered as a exclusive skintone during their DP on the 24 and 25 of this past August...so...wallet safe this time?

About their monthly schedule, I’ve also asked when I firstly saw Soom did for the Gem, but ID told me that they are a separated department under Soom which is not the same as The gem so they don’t have any plan to do so. (Another no plan)

As for Kay, here’s the blank head comparaison with Dia/Sard:

Is there a reason why Soom only offer Kay in white resin? I would expect normal and white to be cheaper resin to make with.

Also, does anyone have owner's photos of Kay apart from the Idealian's site/instagram? I don't see much of Kay's photos - just want to get an idea how people style him. Kay isn't my favorite sculpt due to his humgunous kissing lips. Don't understand why Dia was a popular Gem sculpt in the past.

I wish Soom could create a sculpt similar to Fifth Mortif, Venitu with that buffy checks... and that buffy cheeks on Venitu reminds me of my favorite Chinese actor - Li Xian. Soom, if you are reading this, please make a sculpt of Li Xian!!

OE Kay is an easy pass for me... but those closed eyes, the sad expression, porcelain skin? He looks like a romantic ghost bride
I love that paranormal look! arghhhh...... so many releases this year and Ive been really really bad to think when I first got in the hobby that I was limiting myself to 1 doll, and then it became 1 doll of each size, and then 1 doll from each company to 1 doll in skin color. What a joke!!!

@Khlovera they could have atleast made an LE of tawny skintone for the website.... keep it exclusive for the event, but also keep some exclusivity by offering extra LE online. Ill be crossing my fingers that we get an FCE if not this year, early or mid next year since it has been too long and it just feels like its way over due.

Thanks for posting that comparison, Its nice to know that they are different sculpts and not the same on an Idealian body. Which one of them do you prefer?

I'm currently planning the overall image and color scheme for my Shoshon and I'm thinking about earthy tones to go with his tawny skin. I'm really excited for the day he arrives, whenever that is!

This is my first time ordering BJ hands from Soom, is this normal?
I have myself 3 other BJ hands from POPOdoll and the inside was clean as the hands show from the outside.
There's resin dust (understandable) and A LOT of tiny resin peaces are keep falling down from the inside during the whole assemble...It was such a nightmare for me because of my dust allergy...

 

I would love to order or source for a grey skin soom boy > < they’re just so gorgeous!

@Khlovera Thats unfortunately, normal
I placed the hand and the little pieces in a deep strainer so the parts wouldnt float up and out when I wash it, took care most of the dust but theres still some finished issues with it. I used the cleaner thing that comes with metal/silicone reusable straws to clean the inside and dislodge some of the loose pieces because I didnt want it to effect the dying process
(which I dont recommend for the jointed hands, some pieces are small so it sort of warped in the heat, and the small dots to know which part goes where have mostly popped out so I had to guess which part goes where)

Good luck assembling it , it made me appreciate ready to attach prestrung jointed hands after stringing mine the first time lol. Forceps will be your best friend in this

Anyway, I still think I am safe with Kay due to it's peculiar kissing, oopsidaisy- type of lips. Lately I am seeing a lot of Narmer photos on my Instagram feed and I am so madly in love with Narmer in a darker colour. I need to save up for Narmer. It's strange how I wasn't attracted to him when the Egyptian version of him was released but when I see owners pictures I am so impressed. Some people have good taste - it's like they could see the beauty of the sculpt without face up and created their own face up.

My Hyperon is back from faceup. He's my first Idealian. I have to admit that he was an impulse buy. But after seeing him in person I am totally in love!

Does anyone have recommendations for display stands that can handle Soom guys? My guy takes up too much room on the doll sofa so I would like to have him stand.

 

I've got mine standing using Dollmore stands--think 70cm ones?

I will be very grateful if someone measures: the length of the shoulder with hinges, that is, from the edge of the arm to the other.

I measured my id75 body (with iphone, probably not very accurate), it's 19cm point to point, if bend the ruler it's 20cm. id72 should be 2cm shorter according to the official measurement.

Thank. This is also useful, since I was measured Id75 as 21cm, and I doubted the standards of the site.

 

SO... I got word via message from Soom directly that Idealian Kay will be available in white and normal resin this order period with options of two
Kay heads. I’m assuming the head options are open eyed and romantic.

Just wanted to give a heads up out to anyone interested in Kay.

Kay looks really nice but he's an easy pass for me. The shade of pink they used for his clothes is very pretty. I'm already thinking about who will be the next sculpt though.

My guess is they don't think they habe enough artists to paint the dolls in time to meet their delivery guaranty.

 

Gosh. I hope this is a temporary thing about no faceup. I'm pretty sure Amor had no faceup option when he was released. Maybe their faceup artist on vacation or maternity leave or whatever. I hope their next Idealian has a faceup option because I really don't want to send sculpt around in the fear of breakage or stolen.

 

I really like Kay, those prayer hands are lovely and Im indifferent about his OE head, but the sleeping face... I wish there was an option to get two sleeping faces so I could turn one into scar face lol!

I love and use this stand for my ID75 dolls, I think its the same as the suggested ones earlier

The only difference I made is that I cut, and glued Ikea's anti slip underlay to keep it sturdier, but it works fine without it too. Im just paranoid.

@Twisty the shoes were included with the fullset outfit, Im surprised by that!

@marci12 Congratulations! Which skin color did you choose for him? Since he comes blank, is there a faceup you have in mind?

 

Wow, Kay looks so sweet. Especially the sleeping face. I’m very, very torn on him. I’ve gotten too many bjds this year already— but I don’t know if I can pass him up. Especially in NS! Sad the outfit already sold out— doesn’t really give you time to think about it, does it?
