Narmer is here! DH's back was bothering him, so he went to bed early and I got to open my two new dolls!

Oh MY! Narmer is wonderful! I need to get his hands and head on and find him some eyes!

 

@nancy_schroeder_ca Congrats on his arrival...I hope you'll spam us with pics when the boy is no longer in pieces! (And sympathy to your poor DH. Ouch!)

 

If you do decide to buy a machine in the future. Get a standard sewing machine first. Sergers and their cousins overlock machines are meant for edge finishing, some of them also do decorative stitches, but they aren't necessarily meant for sewing things together, the same way a standard sewing machine is.

 

Hey guys, so for everyone with ID 75s coming in, do you have any ideas what might fit them in terms of coats or jackets? I was looking and it seems like they could take Iplehouse HID clothes, but they don't have a variety of coats or jackets to choose from

 

@nancy_schroeder_ca - Congratulations on your new doll! I can't wait to see photos of him. He's on the ID75 body right? How do you like it?

 

@celga I purchased my new sewing machine last year and I decided I needed a serger too this year! If you want to get back into sewing, start with a sewing machine and if you want to eventually expand your sewing time and techniques then you might want a serger too.

Congrats! Did you say two? Show them off when you get the chance, we are all excited to know how you like them.

 

Sorry to butt in! But can anyone tell me the feet size (length x width) of the ID72 and ID75 bodies? >.<

 

ID75 is 9.4 x 4.0 cm. I can't get a ID72 out right now, but I have a feeling they are about the same. Soom says the ID75 shoes are compatible with ID72 and Megagem.

 

There is a coat back in stock. Soom must have cancel orders that haven't been paid.

lolol I am going to be an enabler and say, BOTH BOTH BOTH xD they're so gorgeous. I am so glad my Garion blew my budget for the year, I love Zak but would also not be able to choose between them xD

 

We were talking earlier about Spiritdoll Herculean pants. I did try them on Narmer. They are about 1 inch too large in the waist but look good if you take a tuck in the back. The legs are snug and long enough to hit the top of the foot.

 

For those that have Narmer home, first off congrats I'm so jelly, what size eyes did you decide to use?
I've got 14mm makos in my Gluino Siesta and Hyperon Merc, but from owner pics Narmer's eyes look smaller... so I'm rethinking...
Any help is appreciated~!

 

I wonder if anyone has that black suit that came out when Narmer did? I bet the suit fits really nice on the the ID75 body and I'm really curious if it fits the ID72 as well?

 

I tried 12/13 Eyeco silicone eyes and they fit but I finally choose inexpensive oval flat glass eyes. I liked them best! Not the best picture but it will have to do for now.

 

Lololol! I am pretty tempted to be very honest! But nooooooo I. must. resist....

I'm still waiting for Soom to reply my questions and they are taking pretty long to reply this week. I hope they will see all the questions on the board soon and reply!

Thank you! That's what I had originally thought about the sergers, but the saleswoman was trying to convince me that they were the better all purpose choice. So now that's settled, all I have to do is decide between the gazillion regular machines I looked at. This could take awhile.

Iple's EIDs also have clodhopper feet - .7 cm larger than these boys - so anything that fits them would probably be okay (which is good for me, because I love all of Freedom Teller's EID stuff, lol ). I also think that Luts SSD shoes might work - they're long enough, but I don't know about the width.

Anyway, it's weird that the ID75s and ID72s can share, because according to their size charts, the 72s have 8.3cm feet...but I suppose the measurement could be off a bit, or the shoes could just be really roomy...

I really think the 8.3 measurement for ID72 feet is way too small. I will try to measure them in the morning.

Soom does put a lot of information out in their Instagram accounts.

 

My ID72 foot measured 9.5. That's the same as the ID75.. I don't think they made new molds for new feet, that's why they are compatible.

I'm getting both Zak heads, does anyone know if the extra head comes with an extra brain?

 

I was pretty sure that the feet were the same size! No need to create another size of shoes for a guy who is only a bit taller!

Narmer with two heads has one brain. You could ask Soom if you can buy an extra one. I did buy one once when I was putting an extra ID head on a Megagem body.

For shoes, Dollmore Glamor Model Model shoes also fit.

I have to also make a noob question, because I am too nervous at the moment.
I finished my layaway for York and my order went on "before shipping".
But what that means at Soom?
Every company has kind of an own code there.
Is he actually before shipping or does this mean he is being made.
I can't remember at the moment.

 

I wish they could also share outfits, because those new suits are nice. :' D

 

Before shipping for Soom just means your order is paid in full.

I did get the black suit but it will probably be tthe weekend before I can try it on an ID72. Maybe some else can do it sooner.

 

You already got one reply above, but basically it just means that they've received your last payment. I'm waiting for York as well, I think I paid him off in January and he's still Before shipping. Once the status changes to blue "On shipping", then it's time to celebrate XD Hope it won't be too long for either of us! I noticed that Soom has already shipped some of their December orders, but the Idealian dolls apparently have a different team working on them...

I ordered the loafers that were offered with York. A day later I succumbed and ordered York. I got the shipping notice for the loafers today but no news on York. I think the system sends the shipping notice and changes the status to on shipping when they enter the tracking number online.

Some of you asked that I shere a picture when I finished my Adonis face up.
So I did the face up but unfortunatly......it chipped on the right eye a little....
I will keep the face up because I like it and because it is not to noticable.

This is probably my 4th face up ever on a bjd. So please dont be to strikt on me

Does anyone knows if the Idealian hands like the latest Zak's hands option limited or will they still sell it in the future?

 

As far as I know, Soom doesn't sell extra options, like special hand parts, on a regular base.
If you are lucky, they recycle some parts with later releases.
I found it already amazing, that we got the jointed hands with all the latest releases somehow.

On another note, I saw that they already changed the front picture again.
Really curious how the next release will look like.
We got so gorgeous sculpts in the last months.

And I saw that someone on facebook got their x-mas kit York already!
So everyone who is waiting for theirs, keep your eyes open.

 

There is a chance the hands will be available in the future. For the supergem and megagem, the special hands were only offered with special dolls. Then they offered them in a body event and now they are "steady sellers". If they get enough requests, they will probably offer them in the future.

 

I'm really curious, too! (Although I can't afford another big doll so soon, sigh). I believe that white chrysanthemums signify death in Korean culture, much in the way white lilies do in ours. Plus, the little caption says 'God bless you', so...something a little sad or wistful, maybe? Basically I haven't a clue, but it's fun to speculate, lol.

@Grim Fandango @nancy_schroeder_ca Thank you! I saw Zak's hands model no was H10 so I looked back some previous dolls and didn't see any other previous hand models so I was curious.

And omg the new teaser! The theme seems like something I might like. I hope it's not a Hyperon because I can't afford him at the moment. Can't wait though!

 

I think they just started giving them numbers. Or at least they just started sharing the numbers with us!

I think they should sell more of those extra hands with different poses LOL those will save me a lot of trouble and pain from assembling them like with ball-jointed hands.

I cant wait to see these new soom dolls! i would wager a guess that the new ID will be an existing sculpt since Raon is new... but if we get two new sculpts at the same time thatd be awesome! and potentially scary.............

It's tagged as a Super Gem O.o Though on the other hand, on Dollsoom Instagram it has been tagged as Forgotten Kingdom (Idealian story)... I'm very confused XD Based on those lips, the doll looks like a female SG to me, lol.

 

You may be right. On the dollsoom Instagram there is a werefox tag. They are trying to confuse us!

 

Those lovely female lips, maybe a ID girl, so is there another male ID that is coming out as well?

 

The lips are tagged as Supergem. So I don't think we have any real hints on the new Idealian.

you can adjust this stand to fit up to 80 cm ^^ I own it and it's a good quality. My only concern is that 75 cm dolls could have feet that are larger than the base of this stand. I use it for my 60 cm and it's slightly hanging off the edge of the base (but just barely). You can check the measurements for yourself and see if it's alright for you, or if you're able to find a bigger type of saddle stand, I think that will work.

 

I use my AS dollstand for sd and it's not good it's scarry me that the stand is rocking..i'm scared the doll fall.. maybe dollstand for big size dolls like sid or eid..

 

Oh that's sucks, I don't really have this problem with this stand but yeah, if you're worried you could look into bigger stands >^<

 

Alice's Collections acbjd has an invisible doll stand which is pretty strong and sturdy with a large base. Get the biggest size for 70cm dolls which I believe can also fit 75cm and 80cm max. It reminds me of a nendoroid stand but for big dolls. Great to have your big dolls displayed as figurines and easy to hide for pictures or small editing. You can have them posed any way you want on this stand instead of traditional doll stands that have to have them posed standing straight.
