Soom Idealian 72cm Discussion Part 9

While Soom's colors do vary, i would certainly call all my tawny dolls a definite tan.

 

I think it's in the eye of the beholder. Compared to my tan or even real skin dolls, they're positively pale...although compared to my normal dolls, they're somewhat darker. I consider them more like Iple's peach gold than anything else I can think of to compare them to.

 

@celga Thanks! I did go back through Instagram, and find the first pictures of Garion from Soom, and I wasn't sure if the skin color was normal and the dark lighting was making it look darker, or if it was actually one of their tan colors. I'd love to see what he'd look like in a darker tan.

I've been torturing myself by looking at pictures of Garion on Insta, and there's just not enough. I'm wondering if I should bug them about a re-release. :P

 

@Cloudedmind LOL, it couldn't hurt! The more requests they get, the more likely they are to consider it. He's a very versatile sculpt, with a lot more potential than the company faceups give him credit for. I think he would look fantastic in a darker tone!

This is first edition Garion tawny on a Idealian Sabik tawny body.
Any Idealian I got after that in tawny has been darker like Narmer, Grahame.



OOPS I almost forgot to ask, does anyone have the SartoriaJ shoes/boots and if so how is the fit on Idealian ?
My guys are boot hoarders lol

 

I have one of the Vampire Sard heads in Tawny but he was so light that he looks fine on a slightly yellowed NS Fairyland body, so
the tawny must really vary!

 

@celga Where do people usually send these types of requests? To the Q&A board? My only fear about asking is if they actually do it, but I end up preferring him in another color.

 

@Cloudedmind Honestly, the only thing I've ever requested was when they posted a doll for sale and I begged pitifully for him in a different color. (It must have worked, too, since several other people also asked, and they finally added it to the choices.) I think the Q&A is the best way to go. They'll probably say something like, "We have no plans at this time...," but if enough people ask they take note. And once they post the doll for sale, you'll know anyway if 1) the color you want is already available, and 2) you'll be able to mull it over before even asking for it if it's not. As for just re-releasing Garion, they're sure to do it eventually - but the more people who ask, the sooner it's likely to happen.

Apologies to his new owner, because he didn't really fit in with my crew and I eventually sold him, but here is a pic of my boy in tawny before I let him go. As you can see, not exactly a dark shade of resin...but who knows what the next batch will look like. He doesn't even appear to be the same shade as @Twisty's, and we both bought him from the first release.

 

@celga I sent them an ask. As you said I'm expecting the generic " We currently have no plans...", but who knows maybe he'll pop up later this year if I'm lucky.

It's always better to ask! Ha, I've been begging them for a Benito since I missed his ordering period (*crossing my fingers*).

 

OMG I finally ordered my dear V. Hyperon in grey! I really like the open-eyed version, so i'm very happy!!

Congrats to you, too, @marci12! You couldn't have chosen a better doll, since Hyperon was originally a dhampir inspired by D. (I've always regretted not buying him in his fullset back then.) Really looking forward to seeing these boys when they come home!

 

Thank you, @celga !! Yeah, I wish I'd known about him then...but I wasn't into SOOM BJDs yet, and wouldn't have been able to afford him. I like that this Hyperon has vampire teeth though, so slightly different Dhampir angle than the original release .

 

Yep, those little fangs are so adorable!

Thanks, everyone for the Soom Idealian eye candy. I'm usually quickly just browsing discussion threads so I'll post some Idealian 75 body hybrid love. His Name's Saosin but goes by the nickname " Zao". ( He's an EID Normal skin Iplehouse Akando head on a Soom Idealian 75 body. ) Also a blast from the past his character rocks the original first Idealian gluino release wig. All I did was add black clip-in hair extensions and trimmed the extensions to the length of the original wig. The wig is the only thing left from the original gluino release the rest went to great DOA homes years ago.)

Also, I'm sure everyone knows this by now but Soom Idealians 72 and 75 fit in Iplehouse EID boots and EID model Clothing. (from outfits I've tried)

interesting! I have thought about this idea as well! but eventually I will choose another mold for D inspired character.

 

Oh @PowerAndWeakness he looks so good!!!! That's a great hybrid! I hadn't thought about putting the IH heads on Soom bodies. I guess people often have issues with posing with both IH and Soom bodies, but I think Soom's big ones do "look" a bit nicer sometimes.

 

I haven't taken the plunge yet into ID 75 body yet....but I do have hybrids of Iple heads on the ID 72 body...like this...

I'm so curious to see more pics of Eden! His chin is too pointed for me though, and his lips a bit too feminine. I wish they'd tried to release Eden as a girl with a different concept though...

 

looks like Idealian line has resumed its original releasing pace.
I feel Eyden's overal style is pretty close to Xenos. I see Xenos+Ender+Shoshon from him...His lips make him somehow more recognizable tho.

 

Soooo, there's going to be 2 new dolls released it looks like. Go to the Korean page. There's a second hero image on the Korean page, a girl called Eren.

@marci12 @Zhenwu great hint!! Ierne was the ID female that released before, just like what happened to Isabel, Ierne was the same, Soom took her off before the ordering period ended for an internal issue according they replied on QA board. 2 dolls at once, oh my wallet

 

Does anyone know where I can look at their schedule for future releases, if they even have any? I really wanted to purchase river and narmer’s sculpt specifically but idk how frequent they re-release older sculpts

 

From what I've seen, they don't really have or keep a future release schedule that the public can look at. Your best bet may be to follow them on Instagram? I don't know. I've just been lurking this thread to keep abreast of new releases, haha.

 

Ahh I see, yea i’ve been trying to keep up with their instagram notifs and just patiently waiting haha i’ve been loving their releases so far though !

 

I have the feeling that you won't have to wait too long this year...There are tons of people asking to re-release River and Narmer (on Weibo tho). If you shout out loud for River and Narmer on their English social media (Q&A board, DM on Instagram/Twitter etc) then Soom probably will re-release them online sooner because then they know these sculpts are popular all over the world.

@jinnndra I've been campaigning for a River re-release too ^____^ Just wrote them another message on their Q&A board today >w< I doubt that I'll ever find him second hand so all we can do is push for a re-release! I need my boy so bad T___T

 

@Sasha of the Crows me too I don’t have any luck with finding him secondhand hopefully they listen to people’s demands (it seems like they did with Hyperon this year so feeling very optimistic!) Good luck to us in getting him

 

I really like the new guy - for the reason @marci12 doesnt appeal to her; that pointy chin! I love that look, he looks like he has some injectables and has had work done on his face, but thats what I like about him. I do think that his face would have looked a lot nicer as an Idealian woman.

Im happy to see Ierne back...... mostly because I feel this means that Isabel might be back (Ive emailed them about buying the doll used in the promo when they cancelled her release lol). I hope that Ierne will sell so they would feel encouraged to keep releasing ID women. Im not into Ierne, but its promising that she's rereleased, I can imagine those who wanted her in the past are relieved to see her back.

I feel Releasing Mecha Angel Saiph's head on the Idealian would have been very exciting. She's being released as a Gem by the end of the month, but personally, I like the Mecha version better because her features arent as perfect? Im not sure, but its pretty easy to tell both version's apart, and the Mecha version appeals to me better.

Not sure I will be buying any of them, but I do love the new guy and his plastic surgery look, its very pretty. I wont hold my breath for an ID Saiph, so Gem Saiph, no correction, ELF!!! Gem Saiph is probably who Ill be waiting for lol.

 

OMFG!!! thank you so much for this info!!! I wrote to soom sometime ago asking to re-release IERNE. I checked the website after reading your post and it's true!! Soom really know how to get to my wallet T_T

@GreenTeaSlug me too! I personally love the MA version of Saiph more! I’m super excited waiting for Soom release Elf Saiph this end of month to see how she will look like! Next to Saiph I’m waiting for the release of Ierne, she looks a bit different from her last release. Eyden is up and white skin Eyden looks so different and that look attracts me very much I rarely collected white skin bjd but this time...

 

@Khlovera hahaha...is that good or bad, it's both good and bad! >_< I want Bronze River to be released, they have not released a bronze River in ID75. Plus I see so many people wanting River, I'm pretty sure this one is not impossible.

@GreenTeaSlug LOL!! You are just like me, I once asked what they did to their model doll for promotion sale after order period is over and if they can sell that doll used for promotion because I want ieren.

I contacted Soom about Ierne's release, they said it's next week, but details are still undecided and may change...wth does that mean?

 

I saw that Soom posted via twitter about the Cafe Watson & Sand that we can see physically the recently released ID dolls, Ierne that showed there were looking like Romantic version, hopefully they will release both version of Ierne!

A friend of mine asked about the available skintone, they replied that only normal skin will be available for this release but I’d prefer her in CW this time...

Also the new outfit sold out so quickly, don’t know if Soom could announce the time that starts for next release...

 

@Khlovera thank you for posting that, I was panicking about missing Ierne's outfit, but I think Im safe this time. I really like period or more revealing modern outfits lol. Their white skin is very pretty! Its like vanilla ice cream, a warm white that looks like velvet

@Elvenrose I dont like potentially causing panic, but Im getting flashbacks of the doll being cancelled because she hasnt picked up enough interest... I mean, I think they released her along with a male because the last time, someone complained about a woman ID being released, and that they should only focus on male ID, here and on IG, and Im pretty sure most companies read the forums to gauge interest, or at least, skim it.

I dont know how it is for Soom, but some other doll companies like Hypermaniac etc, they need a minimum of 10 orders to begin casting I hope they advertise her to pick up more interest. Those "non studio" photographs, make the doll a lot more appealing IMHO. For example; not a lot have purchased Liam, but I did because I liked his face. After his release and some real photos of him got around, I got a few DM's asking me to sell them my Liam if I was going to sell. Same thing when Garrion was released. The studio makes amazing photos, but the mobile/ regular photos show the sculpts potential a lot more, even if its default makeup/eyes etc.

@marci12 Im in trouble. I was waiting for Saiph, but this new guy is beautiful. The more I think of him in different wigs and clothing styles, the more Im attracted to the idea of owning one. His lips look a bit more natural now, like the filler settled in vs that freshly injected and swollen look he had in that teaser XD

 

People may remember me continually pestering Soom to release River again.
I did this for a few years and TAH DAH one day they released River again so great things do happen lol
Now if we can get them to do more of the older sculpts muahahaha.

Oh and on a funny note, I clicked on the Soom site yesterday to see both outfits still in stock, imagine my complete and utter shock LMAO but I passed hehe

I also use a Soom ID72 body for other heads, in fact one of the bodies shares time with an Iple , SartoriaJ and Cocosdoll head

 

@GreenTeaSlug Yes, I am aware of that, and I'm worried this could be the case again...because from their respond they don't give a definite answer. *sigh* I will just wait and see...and hope...

Well..got some answers from Soom.
They are not going to add any other skin tone to Ieren in this release..
The strange thing is, they said "It will be better to buy the head separately this time." Why???

And last but not least, for those who are waiting for re-release of Hyun and Gluino (I'm not the only one, right?), Soom has release plan for these 2 in the second half of this year.

I was wondering the same thing with the ID female body. It would have been nice if they also had photos of the body and joints. I really like Irene's sculpt but since female ID are rare it would be hard to find clothes for her so I'm conflicted if I should take a chance with buying the full doll or just get the head.

Hello all, I've been out of touch with the hobby for a while but I'm obsessed with Ieren- does anyone know how the ID68 female heads fit on any potential male bodies?

 

On their Instagram (I think, or FB) they said they're selling the head separately so people can essentially still get something nice during the virus without breaking the bank. They're doing it as a special to be nice. Which is nice of them, but I'm not sure what other bodies it would fit

Thank you for the news on Hyun and Gluino, that will make a lot of people happy! Personally, I wish for a bronze ID release this year. I decided to finally pass on the new guy. He is beauttttiful but it would be an instant buy for me if he was in tawny or bronze.

@RamenNoodle in one of the sales threads, she's wearing an outfit set made for Iplehouse SID I also read when researching, that she is able to wear Iplehouse EID women clothing

On Soom's twitter there is some information about the compatibility of the head. But it's in Korean and the translation is weird... It mentions Volks bodies and then says it's not fully compatible? But looking at the measurement of ID68 female:Measurements - Idealian , at least the neck girth is pretty standard for male bodies. The head is relatively small compare to most 65+cm male heads. So it shouldn't be too difficult to hybrid if you want a Ieren boy, I guess.

@GreenTeaSlug Wow thanks! That's a smart research! Yes I did find the photo in Albany's page earlier. Personally I prefer wider shoulders. ID68's seem a bit too narrow for my taste...hmmmm
