In my personal opinion EID torso proportions are nicer while soom leg proportions are nicer.

I have a SarJ body coming soon that I hope Idealian heads will work on

I already know it's going to end up going to my other doll. He very adamantly insists that he is not a blonde. I don't think he'll accept anything except black hair at this point.

 

@Vienel Is he absolutely sure that he's not blonde? Cuz he looks so good even with the blonde wig

I caved and ordered Zak in tawny skin considering who knows when Zak will be available in tawny skin again. Hes also the first doll i ordered in blank so I'm looking forward to commissioning someone for a faceup! Not sure what style I should go for, but I'm super excited for the future!

I've had this character since 2007 and only had him in art pieces, but he is finally shelled as a doll and it is soooo satisfying.

I remember years ago a company posted that they couldn't sell a head because the artist had left the company. I think there may be difference in copyright ownership.

 

They are also all ones that have actor likenesses. I wonder if that plays a part. I guess it's good they said though, so people aren't waiting for them.

@green_judy You're welcome! Same here, I got him because I feared that since he had a face type that was a bit different he wouldn't sell as well and only get re-released in a bajillion years...

He should get on Wednesday's KR-FR flight, hopefully he'll be here by the end of the week \o/ (He's definitively gonna miss my birthday though xD)

By the way, I live under a rock and I have no face recognition skills, can anyone tell me which actors Liam, Benito and Mason are based on?

Got my Julia from Ringdoll and decided to introduce her to the boys. She's so light and tiny compared to them. Poor girl is gonna have a couple of handfuls to deal with.

 

Aaaaaah there's 3 in the lot I want (Branon, Dover and Pangen) but no way I can afford 3 Idealians at the same time, plus my house deposit >___>

Not really the biggest fan of the free choice scultps and also no face ups... so, I'm gonna pass. I might have actually bought a few heads if they had sold the heads separately.

 

Yes, ha, I wish they had more sculpts to choose from. And I wish there was a female sculpt included! But someone’s definitely going to get their rare boy, so that’ll be nice to see! It’s not for me though.

 

Am I seeing things, or are heel feet for the male body available via the free choice event??

 

Looking forward to seeing some of these early sculpts in photos here, folks.

Meanwhile, my Mason with Aganos faceup has come home. Pics soon(ish). I am so, so glad I went for it, since it seems we won't see a re-release. He's so beautiful in person, I am quite smitten.

 

Aw, I miss the old days when Free Choice meant a lot of sculpts to choose from...but even more, I really miss the Christmas Kits. Sigh. I'd grab a bronze or tawny Hyperon in a heartbeat if they'd bring those back...

Got Adonis and his fantastic fullset from Freedom Teller!!! He looks amazing. Now I just have to wait for the black wigs I ordered half a year ago to get here.

Here's Mason, with the special Aganos faceup. I think his name is Séamus (Shay for short). This out-of-focus photo doesn't do the sculpt justice, but I was too excited to wait. Unfortunately, no clothing for him has gotten here yet...! As soon as his whole kit arrives, I'll do a little shoot with him and my Xian, Tashi, with a slightly nicer camera.

I went buck wild in 2020 with dollies I'm sure it was a pandemic coping mechanism, but I will really need to be much more careful this year.

 

@green_judy Ah, I am such a sucker for prominent noses and full lips. He's gorgeous!

 

The planes and angles of his face are so good, @celga -- I feel very grateful that I was able to swing this boy, with great difficulty.

Hi All!! I'm still new to buying and just recently got a DF-A Max and now I'm trying to find a boo for him. Sadly, since I only started buying dolls in the past 6 months, I missed the Xenos Idealian pre-order I really really want that head sculpt and I was wondering if companies like Soom re-release head sculpts?

I would prefer to have the entire doll (would even buy second hand!) but I can live with a face sculpt re-release...

Ahh thank you so much @meanae for that sheet!!!! I feel hopeful that they'll re-release him after seeing the other LE Gentle Homme (Kay) has had 3 releases so far (if I'm reading this right...!)

I'm so sad I missed his pre-order T_T...

 

If there is a specific sculpt that you would like to have released, it helps to ask Soom about it on the Q&A board. You will probably get a vague response but they do tally the requests!

And they announced early January that the next release would be a Selavie re-release with artist collaboration, sometime this month xD

I think the Idealian is in big chaos right now...Probably we have to wait a bit longer for the next release.

 

Yeah, looks like there were some issues with the head for Narmer and Hyun in that the brain part won't go in. Apperently this only applies to dolls shipped before December 29, 2020.

My Hyun just got shipped so I'm kinda nervous about that but I think I'll be fine. Still excited for him to come!

 

Does anyone know how often they release their jointed hands? I feel like every time I go look, I've just missed a sale.

 

My Hyun shipped this week too. He will be extra smart with his ... reformed brain. XD Yay! Excitement maxed!

Also regarding the jointed hands, I think nowadays, they release them whenever they release a ID doll. Though it may not be in the skin tone you are looking for. So you might need to wait for Soom to release a new doll in the same skin tone you are looking for.

I had no idea about the brain issue-- I wonder what happened to cause it. Happy everyone's getting the new brains though. Which is such a weird sentence to write.

I’ve never had a doll which would have actual brain in the head. Isn’t it a bit scary?
Although I am eyeing Idealians for a while and I hope (or maybe not ) that some would catch my attention. Which one is your favourite? I very much like Hyperon.
