    2. Hi everyone :)
I have been busy making jewelry, etc for my spoiled boys lol oh and some for sale because you know, they always want new stuff right ? LOL
I don't know what it was with Hyperon but we never seemed to bond.
I rehomed 4 of them in the past lol.
This one though, I adored him from afar, and through good dolly karma I was able to adopt him, TY RW !!
      He's amazing :)
We had some fun with imaging, I think it suits him lol

    3. Oooh, he's lovely @Twisty

Hope no one minds double Hyperon spam.
Took a photo with Lucien today. He seems to have found a companion. :chocoheart

    4. @Lady Ravenswood I love this pic!!! I was going to try and buy that head on the left if it was still available, but you got her! She's gorgeous, congrats!!

    5. @marci12
      Oh no! Haha. I'm sorry.
I absolutely snapped this head up the moment I saw it. Everything about him is very much my aesthetic. :chocoheart:chocoheart:chocoheart

    6. Guys, can I ask a question? Where do you buy shoes for your ID75s? Which brands fit and which don't? I got some Iple shoes for mine, but I have a hard time finding shoes that fit my guys style. He will not be wearing fancy dress shoes or loafers etc. cause they're just not his style, so it's a bit hard to find stuff. Soom only has one pair that would suit him even if anything was in stock, soo... I'm a bit desperate for some variety in style. :'D

    7. @Yenna Soom offered sometimes boots and shoes, they all looks pretty good and in good quality. Besides, I purchased shoes via Alice’s collection and legend doll, coz they both are dealer of a few Chinese brands. I also purchased once or twice on Etsy (with a help of a friend as I really don’t use this site my own lol )

@Lady Ravenswood saw your pic on insta and how wonderful they look together! Even they are from two different artist but the atmosphere between them is just WoW

@Twisty you know how much I used to love Hyperon and yours also :whee: wish Soom could release human Hyperon this year too, or soon :wiggle

    8. I get mine from moonlight BJD and freedom teller since they have shoes specifically for ID75 and their quality is really good. My stuff from freedom teller specifically shipped really fast.

    9. @Khlovera
      Thank you so much!!!
Yes, I thought they looked amazing together too! Lucien was supposed to be with another of my dolls buuut....oops. I kept looking at these two dolls instead. This couple has their own ideas it seems.:chocoheart

    10. @Miss Era Thank you! I'm so excited to get Hyun!

Wow, Soom released another collaboration with R. Dean and Dokkebijudan and it's River and Hyperon as Grim Reapers!

They look amazing! :D:D I can hear the ensuing click wars coming lol

    11. Stunning dolls *_* - and two of my favorite Idealian sculpts - and gorgeous costuming - Wow.

      • x 2
    12. Can anyone please give me some reviews about Idealian75 body and posing? I like their new release of Hyperon (mostly because of the light violet skin) but more than 2k for a doll without any special accessories is too expensive.

    13. That they do! I love the Hyperon so much that I spent about ten seconds wondering if I could afford him...and then realized that I'd be spending close to $2K on the outfit and faceup alone...and sanity returned. :sweat

      • x 6
    14. DokkebiJudan’s outfit added into the price, the faceup of RDean does also since her slots are pretty much limited now (no oversea commission for a while already I guess) the BJ hands has its value, so did the special skintone. And the wigs and eyes also :drool ah vampire Hyperon is purple is so yummy

      • x 1
    15. I did that over here ;)

As for the price - yeah its much, but they're fullsets. Soom did a pretty similar collaboration back with the Expo Zak before, with the difference that he didn't came with a custom wig and jointed hands.
One could argue that the price for the fullset is- well, a lot. Blank IDs go for 800$, RDean face-up maybe 150$ (or 200?), the wig ~150$ (even though there are chinese/korean artists who do frontlace wigs for ~80$, lets calculate a bit more), jointed hands are ~200$, eyes 100$ (which is, again, a LOT for custom resin eyes). Lets say the blushing is 100$ too (which is again a lot, since its only on the hands?), that makes ~1600$ in total, so... 1100$ for the outfit incl. shoes? *_*

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for fullsets and I love that Soom is doing these special collabs but... well. In general it would be way, way, waaaay cheaper to keep an eye on the secondhand market to get a ws hyperon, get him dyed, a good face-up and commission a outfit.

      • x 5
    16. @meanae I know right? I don't even like his outfit. I can accept that he's around $1800 or so but $2700? Come on the expo Zak has better clothes and is still cheaper (not a lot but still). How can the outfit cost way more than the doll? I'll just save money and wait till they release him in violet skin blank nude doll. But Soom seems to not release ID75 in violet skin often.

      • x 1
    17. So far they've reserved violet for the ID75 guys for very special ones, yeah. Like I said, its cheaper to get a ws doll and get it dyed ^^"

      • x 1
    18. Usually Dokkebijudan uses authentic silks and makes the hats. I love the outfit but can't afford any of her outfits anymore. Last year I bought a contemporary ancient influenced coat that I treasure from her for my birthday. They are worth the cost in quality and craftsmanship.

      • x 3
    19. Thank you for the moonlight BJD suggestion, I didn't know about them and they do have a few pairs that would work but are out of stock at the moment. I'll just have to keep an eye on them. Freedom teller only makes stuff that's too fancy for my guy xD

When you look at the won price of the doll, the new hyperon is 'only' 130 000 won more expensive than the Zak was (which at the moment is about $120). Currency conversion is what makes it $300 more expensive in dollars at the moment, cause rates fluctuate. Looking at the outfits as a seamstress, I dont' think either one is "better". More to someone's taste maybe, since the new outfit is pretty much black, it's hard to tell how much work went into it. They seem to have about the same amount of pieces, and in the Zak outfit it looks like she used some synthetic (=cheaper) fabrics with the lace details, while Hyperon's outfit comes with the hat. Mostly I think she uses silks and other very high quality materials I only wish I would have access to to make something like that. x_x (I wanna go to Korea and raid their fabric stores.) I go a bit nerd on outfits, sorry. But it's not a stretch for people to pay more for a great outfit than the doll that will wear it, it seems a bit backwards but I can guarrantee you, a very complicated fullset outfit will take more time to make than the doll itself (I mean the casting and cleaning etc. not the original sculpting). And some fabrics are insanely expensive -don't know about the pricing of Dokkebijudan's fabrics but damn, they do seem nice.

Also as a whole, I don't think these special releases are priced as the sum of their parts. There's definitely some kind of a premium added to the fact that it's a collaboration work and a special limited at that. And they're definitely for the person who specifically wants that fullset to display and play with. They're not for people lke you and me who just want a certain color/model base doll to then build up by ourselves. Sucks that they don't offer the colors we want but I guess that's life. I waited for 6 years for Soom to release the doll I wanted in the color I needed him in and that's a pretty long time to wait for a release. x_x

    20. Yes these really are museum quality pieces and only 8 of each. Way outside my league for sure, but gorgeous. (By the way, I feel so lucky to have bought my Dokkebijudan coat and from another traditional seamstress, a hanbok made with all silks and a gisaeng handmade wig. Recently, I bought ancient brocade books and a bamboo scroll that is stained on the edges, and lacquered with hanzi characters handwritten on it. These were all a stretch for me, but all my dolls are Korean. And these entail hours of work.)

    21. [IMG]

I have really been enjoying the ID shots and am also in awe of the new Grim Reapers...! Wow :nosebleed

Here is a very hastily convened and unedited phone shot of Tashi Wangchuk, my Xian with R.Dean faceup. He's got a Switch wig (London Grey!) enroute, so this one is temporary. Those are Kanis eyes with small irises and medium-sized pupils.

He has a really sweet demeanor, much more tender than I was expecting. He feels somehow softer and more diffident in the feeling he conveys from the other R.Dean Xians I've seen; it might be the beige eyes, or maybe it's just 'owner eyes' projecting some mysterious cocktail of my own emotion into that face. At any rate, I love him.

I find the body lighter and easier to manage than the ID72 - even verging on snuggly, which is amazing considering the size and heft, really. At any rate, I'm a big fan of this body, and I think Tashi is going to be a clothing monster. I may need to obtain an armoire for him. :sweat

    22. Can I ask a question? Does anyone have ID jointed hands and SG jointed hands? I'd love to know how much bigger the ID ones are.

    23. I actually do have both of those @VampireAngel13
I could take a photo tomorrow if no one else has. It's just dark now. The SG hands are the old SG version (which is to say that I don't know if they have changed at all with the new body).

      • x 2
    24. That would be so great!! I have SG hands from a few years ago...so if they're like mine even better.
      Thank you!!

    25. @marci12 Thanks for sharing more pics! He looks so pretty... :drool
It seems Soom is breaking their "one new sculpt, one old sculpt" pattern recently, as I was expecting to see a new doll but saw Zak instead, which really shocked me a bit. Anyhow Zak is actually on my wishlist.....No Soom why are you doing this to me...My Hyun is still on layaway...:doh

      • x 2
    26. I love Zak and under any other circumstances I'd be super happy to see him. But my heart still belongs to River and with every announcement of an older sculpt re-releasing and it's not River, my hopes get crushed even more (especially since Soom did release 2 River versions in the past months, that were highly limited though). Makes me think he won't get a regular release anytime soon .___.

Apologies for the rant but I'm just so desperate for him ._. And I feel like I can't commit to any other Idealian before that ×_×

    27. Here you go:

The ID ones are pretty much bigger, you really can't put the SG ones on IDs, if that was intention :,D

      • x 2
    28. That's great!! Thanks you!
No, I have a head who's body went from a Dollmore Model with SG hands to a Dollmore Glamor Model and the SG hands are way too small for him now. I've been having a problem finding jointed hands I like and trust enough to spend money on. This give me an idea of the size/scale of both the hand (which I think will be perfect) and the wrist ball, which might be too big - I can't remember how much bigger the wrist of the GM is versus the Model (but that's an easy check). So this is a huge help, thank you!

    29. Looks like the new Zak will be limited to 30? In that skin tone? Or maybe the set again.

Not really a fan of what Idealian is doing with these limited releases (and then giving the normal option, if any, no option for faceup and sometimes not even skin tone)

      I love Zak but damn.

    30. I just want his wig tbfh.

    31. I know people were talking about the gorgeous R. Dean eyes on Soom releases in the past, so just wanted to mention that there is an open overseas order period going on right now. :3nodding:

    32. Soom actually will sell him basic too. Theres a small notice in the end of his page:

      Sold separately
      + ID75M Zak – Cream / Tawny

The limited ones ONLY come in peony white/romantic head.

      • x 2
    33. So let me get this straight, for $1170 plus shipping you get : nude doll with basic hands in white, faceup (limited to 30) and eyes ? that's it, nothing else...hmmm lol

Well anyhow I AM looking fwd to seeing what the F/W clothing is, hope it's not super limited (insert eye roll here)

      • x 2
    34. It has gotten quite steep, hasn't it? I was surprised it was such a stripped down release as well.

I am madly in love with the promo photos...but I prefer the edited cool tones to the stronger brown/pink of the faceup pictures for the doll so my heart is content that I'm sticking to one Idealian.

      • x 3
    35. Apparently only the limited 30 has face up (the normal release will not have face up options). For me that's a high bump in price. I could be wrong... the face up in the past only costs ~$80 by this artist ... and if we consider a nude ID75 that is about $750 + $80 face up and say $50 eyes = $880 approximately - unless there's extra charge for peony white color? Even so that's a $300 usd jump in price.

I'm kinda disappointed that the normal release will not have a face up option. I'm also sad that the qty limited is just a face up doll with eyes that costs $300 more than the old price.

I probably will pass on Zak even though I do adore the sculpt. I can't justify this increase of $300 for the limited qty for no particular reason other than it's 'limited'. I would have gone for the normal release but the fact that they won't be offering face up... just saddens me that they are really pushing people to fight for the overpriced limited for the sake of having a face up from them. Sorry for the rant. Just had to get this off my chest. :P I hope they will go back to the old way.

      • x 5
    36. To my understanding the $80 face up from this artist is very "basic". When it comes to an "artist collaboration", you can see that the quality is higher than usual. BUT still, $300 extra for this "upgrade" is just not convincing.
Though Zak is on my wishlist, I'm gonna pass this time. It's just too soon...
PS. I am surprised that they don't accept layaway for this artist version...

    37. They also have Zak without faceup for $810. The skin color is either Cream or Tawny. Now I am really hesitant; Zak is always on my wishlist but $810 seems to be a bit high, even compared to other ID75 dolls. I also want a white skin one but cream looks like something in between white and normal. Not sure how it will look like.

      • x 1
    38. Isn't Cream the same as the old "Cream White" color? If that's the case, then it's a lovely off-white with a warm undertone.

I'm really torn too. Tawny Zak has been on my list for a while - but $931.47 (plus shipping!) for a basic doll with no faceup option is a bit high on the price. (And I'm still not sold on the ID75 body)

      • x 3
    39. $810 and no faceup?? why Soom??

      • x 3
    40. Remember that Soom does NOT change its price - the reason why IDs ( well, not just IDs, all of their dolls) are getting more expensive is because of the exchange rate. If you look at the ID prices on the Korean page, nothing has changed since the end of 2019, and even the changes there are due to a bunch of special releases. And still they are already making the USD prices lower than the Won prices, as 990000won are 887 USD atm, while they sell dolls for 810usd.

      • x 6
    41. I didn't realize that! Thank you for telling us. The fact that it's just the exchange rate being awful makes me feel a lot better about it...

    42. Thanks for the info

    43. No cream is a bit darker compared to the cream-white, according to this from the official site Skin Color - Idealian.

    44. Thank you for the information! Definitely Make me feel better but it is still quite expensive for me T-T

      • x 1
    45. Ah, thanks for the correction. I should have checked that before posting.

    46. Yes I knew they would sell him basic, that's not what I meant.

But still. Not the skin color in limited and no faceup. Ugh.

Luts fixed their prices for the exchange rate too and it's killing me. Soom was already expensive, but sucks. Especially since a lot of us are having trouble affording dolls in the first place XD Can't wait for all this to calm... some day.

Narner came in today. Took a few quick pictures just to show how he looks. I'm beyond happy with him. I'll take some better pictures later on. (Also need to get a better wig. My wigs have been pending delivery for literal months due to covid.)

PS. Do you guys have any links to doll stands that work for 75cm dolls? I've been trying to find someone on amazon or ebay but they all look really weak. My current one is not managing at all.

    48. Hi everyone I need some help!
Hopefully it is okay to post this here. So I have been dying to make my Final Fantasy 14 character into bjds. My character has both a male and a female version. I wanted to do the male version first and I instantly fell in love with the Idealian body and proportions for him. I also really enjoy their sculpts so I have been set on making my boy an idealian. So far I think the sculpt that would suit him best would be between Kay, Zak, Void and Hyperion. I have seen a few Kay's pop up recently on the second hand market and as everyone knows Zak is up for preorder. I am leaning more towards Zak or Void because their face is a bit more rounded like my character. I was hoping to get second opinions. I have never owned a male bjd or seen an idealian in person so I wanted to hear what people thought.

Here are pictures of my boy and if anyone wants to see more pics of him let me know. I really do love him!

    49. Oh wow, yeah. That face shape is very Zak, IMO. Kay is a little too heart-shaped, and Hyperon has a bit stronger of a jaw. Zak is definitely the closest.

Good luck shelling your character! He's lovely!

    50. That's what I was thinking too. Thanks for your help!

    51. Does anyone know if an Idealian head (especially a Gluino, my dream ID sculpt lol) will fit onto an Iplehouse EID model body?

    52. Jup, they do. Here's a Branon on a model EID, with a Rex on the ID72 besides. Color match was decent, I blushed the Rex head darker to match the ID72 as it was darker; the Branon on the other hand was darker than the model body, but not by much. If you manage to get a new(ish) Gluino the match will be better :) The Branon in the pictures was pretty old.

    53. Omg!!!! Thank you this is exactly what I was looking for! ^^ Did you have to sand or anything?

    54. To make the head fit? No, not at all. Personal opinion, I would sand the neck a bit shorter for slightly better proportions, but I think its also good as it ls :)
