Soom Faery Legend "Nenad" Discussion

I said at the beginning of the thread I probably wouldn't be able to get Nenad... But then I remembered layaway. If I can afford the first layaway payment by the day before her availability ends, I'm getting her! >.<

By the gods, I hope she doesn't sell out early.

 

Oh my word.. Soom has climbed in my head and managed to extract another must have doll from my brain.

 

Yeah, I may end up doing the same if I can afford the first layaway payment on her last day *chews on fingers*

 

My mate was kind enough to order her for me. ^.^ I'm finally going to get a soom doll, and she's a cute little fairy on top of that.

 

She is lovely. I gasped when I saw her. I actually find her pretty reasonably priced considering...those wings couldn't have been easy to make. I was planning to purchase her as my second BJD but I would prefer to save more money and see what fae they come out with next. ^^

 

I think Soom owe Midnitestar a percentage. I never buy dolls until I have checked her photobucket

I think I'm going to have to get Nenad. As much as I'd like to wait for a specific looking fairy, I also love this little one. So glad she's under 300USD, I don't think I could justify it if she wasn't.
No blushing though, I don't mind her wings being green, but am not a fan of her whole body being green. Will probably do an earthy-brown blushing... And maybe add some brown to her wings at the tips, make her very mossy.

 

I just discovered Nenad, and I've fallen soooooo in love! Gah, I need to make up mind soon. I'm good for the money, but with my other dolls I dithered for like at least two months before committing. This way is much more stressful >_< Why must I always be so indecissive?

 

Check out the waiting room thread! Our resident Soom emissary Midnitestar posted photos of Nenad from inside the Soom store in Japan It's a great way to see her "in real life" so to speak! There are loads of details in the candid photos of her that are easily missed in Soom's fancy photoshopped sales pictures.

 

Okay, those photos made up my mind, especially the the "scale" photo with the human hand. She's so perfectly petite! I think I'm gonna do it. I think I'm gonna do it tonight, I just need to chill the heck out with a beer and a snack.

 

Yay more Nenad orders! Though to be honest I am lonely in this thread since most of the people who bought her have moved the Nenad party over to the waiting room, haha!

Yay more people buying her! I was ogling her since the first teaser shot and finally managed to buy her yesterday as my first BJD. It still hasn't sunk in...

 

LOL! Thank you for the company Rivon! and congrats on your very first BJD! Nenad is a GREAT CHOICE! I am actually really excited to see what additional fairies they are going to come out with--I adore how they updated the mini gem body for Nenad and can't wait to see some more face sculpts for her!

I love the new body too, and thought she was just the perfect size to start the hobby with. Considering how many dolls Soom has released lately, I'm very impressed with her. Can't wait to have her home!
And I'm suspecting I may be doomed with this entire line as well xD

I had a similar problem when doing a layaway for Nenad. I had read somewhere that Mozilla interferes, and this was the first time it happened to me. So I used Internet Explorer and it went through the next try. I'm not sure if this helps, but it solved my problem. Good luck.

I'm allready there! last on the first list ^^ I just can't wait, I want the doll right now! I wasn't sure at first if I wanted such a small doll, because I had planned quite striktly what kind of doll i wanted. But she showed up, and when she was limited I couldnt just leave it. (and it was a fast way to konvince my mom; "mom shes limited, we have to order her FAST!") :'D

 

That's how my boyfriend and I decided I'd get her ("we'll never have another chance sweety"). What is especially exciting is the new releases in this line! I am hoping down the line they will make a MSD size.

 

haha super! yeah, I would like to have some sneak peak about what kind of faeries they will do next. :3 I actually hope they wont be too great, because then I would have to have them all xD

 

The Nenad is gorgeous. And 29cm? Does this mean she'll fit Barbie/Liv/Bratz clothing? And wear YoSD shoes?

She's more expensive then I was originally going for but I really want a 1/6 doll that looks a bit more on the mature side, and she fits that quite nicely.

 

A lot of us have Nenad now, you can check out some gallery threads. Barbie clothes are going to be a little loose in the chest area, she's not super-endowed.

i received my girl today...and she is just so beautiful and delicate looking im totally blown away..the detail on her face..right down to her tiny teeth is just amazing

Well, this wig is not very good (it's from a J-Doll) and her eyelashes fell while I was trying to adjust her eyes while controlling the wig ¬¬ but here is a picture of my Nenad, Emmaline (she is half/vampire and half/valkyrie for a while, not a fairy, *maybe* she will be a fairy in the future)

wow wow wow. sooo pretty girls! yeah its really refresching to see her in other stuff than her default ones. rosemaryjayne: that white wig looks really good on her with those lashes and the white dress (?) looks like a snow-prinsess or something. very lovely. And hey I ammideatly reacted that Be-Life's Nenad looked different, and I actually like her look withouth the lashes. Her eyes are seen in a totally different way, the shape is more recognizable like that. And that hair colour goes with her eyebrows, right?!

Hi everyone, ummm.... I know this may sound stupid but I can't quite figure out how to put Nenad's faery legs/feet on ^^; If anyone could PM me on how to do it I would really appreciate it. Thanks!!!

 

That is a good question. I was looking to maybe put her faerie legs on mine but I haven't tried yet.

 

you'll have to re-string her.. It was quite hard for me, as she is my first doll.. And she's so small. but yeah, just open the knot inside her stomach and then she'll fall apart.. And then take the shorter string and try to put it in the same way as the old one was, and put the hooks in the new legs. Then just switch legs. It's not this simpel as I deskribed it, so you better look up a re-stringing tutorial. :'D good luck, and try not to loose your nerves with it xD haha what I ment with that was that I did loose my nerves a couple of times doing this.. xD hohoo

A question for all Nenad owners - is it true that she has trouble sitting up? I heard that the new body has problems sitting up straight.

 

My Nenad sits up pretty well, maybe not 100% straight, but good enough. She is strung insanely tight though, so that might have something to do with it.

 

Bliss and I allways go out when it starts to get dark.. hohoo then we are in a hurry to take the pics. but today we succeded with some :3 My friend made clothes for her ^^ SO PRETTY CLOTHES! The colours are perfect

 

So has anyone had any luck finding wigs for her that look decent? I heard someone used a puki wig, but what kind of puki? xD I know nothing about them.

 

I recall someone having a Dolfie Dream wig that looked amazing, that's where I was planning to do my shopping as a result.

as for the questions about sitting...my girl sits ok..she does lean back a little tho..the main problem is the fact she cant sit well while wearing wings as they extend lower than her bum..im on the look out for a nice stool for mine to sit on

thanks the wig was stolen from my pukipuki (fits really well!) and the necklace is actually from a Bratz doll

 

wow rose, that is very lovely. those colours are soo pretty and fit her faceup perfectly! so delicate like candy. Its like that with most Nenads. Theyre like candy, so soft too. x)

Sorry if this is off topic and I don't know if anyone mentioned it yet, but Soom just sent me upgraded arms for her out of the blue! That was really unexpected.

 

Wonder if you might post a picture? I have a few Nenads and would love to see the upgrade

 

They sent me new upper arms too. It was totally unexpected and no note or email bout it. It just came home with the post. It had a really nice letter in it too. They don't LOOK different to me.. but gonna try them on! :P
