Soom Faery Legend discussion part 2

I think that maybe 8mm can be big... I don't know why, but one pair of 8mm bought from soom is a little big, and the default 8mm that comes with the faeries looks perfect... @_@

about how to insert eyes, it's like for every bjd. I'd rather take the head away, so to have more room to work, but I remember I didn't for my first faery, Nenad. just used the putty that soom sends to fix them, it was easy.

 

It is a little challenging to insert the eyes because the head is so tiny. Made me wish I had smaller fingers! Guess I better get used to it - I caved and ordered my Rose (WS) also!

 

with little heads, sometimes can be useful a little stick to push better the putty around :-3
I've used it with the realpuki, and the DZ flower faery ^_^

 

oh, no. no "just soom eyes".
I've ordered glass eyes too, and I've tried glass, acrilycs and silicone eyes on my bigger ladies, everything worked well!
I hope to give glass eyes to my faery too ^_^

 

My Haidi has 8mm glass eyes with a little bit of a stem and they fit just fine.

I got some of my 8mm acrylics in and they fit perfect. I think 6mm would be too small but didnt get to try that yet

 

I wonder if 6mm eyes would fit Auber, his eyes seem smaller than those of Haidi for example.

 

Ok I'll put some pics up later today. 6mm eyes are the only size that work for Auber since his eyes are so small. His default 8mm are way too big and his wig is way too small. He's like Goldilocks! Lolol!

Man, I regret not getting an Auber so badly. He would've been a perfect little Hades, God of the Underworld. He looks awesome in every ownerpic I've seen so far.

I don't yet have a faery of my own, but I was wondering... is it at all difficult to swap out their legs?

 

It's interesting to see the extra options. I assume that the Aenigma body + additional human body means that you get one body with normal feet + faery feet and another human body, right?

I'm hoping Soom will post pics of the magenta skincolour next to other skin colours. I wanna see it before making my order.

 

not really difficult... but... well, you have to restring her, because they add a shorter string for faery legs.
instead of having the s-hook at the ankles, you put it at the knees.

I'm glad they've added extra body option.
I wanted to open a split and this way it seems more reasonable to me.

 

Me too, and not photo-shopped. It just looks so nice though, I think I'd like it anyway!

Oh wow... that skin color is lovely and those ears! *Is a bit more tempted now* grrr, if only the legs didn't suck... I want awesome fantasy transparent legs darn it! But I don't want to regret missing out on another fairy... argh, you evil evil company SOOM.

 

Will you need to order eyes for the human head or will normal eyes be included if you get the extra body? Is removing the seam necessary? I've never purchased anything with that as an option. TIA!

Arrgh... the more I look at her the more I'm thinking she would be perfect for shelling a character I'd originally planned to try and get in SD size. Her magneta skin is so perfect!

The message said "running" but there's been no further message, like an email with my purchase or an update to the order. Does it take a day or so for the cc to go through when you're in the US? TIA

What color ARE her eyes? They look like a grey with a gold ring around the pupil?

Aenigma has stolen my heart but the size makes me hesitate. Anyone have a comparison pic with one of these size dolls with either other dolls or a human?

You are welcome . I actually just sold her . I think I prefer larger dolls...but I actually found it easier to pose her then my bigger dolls. I had a bit of trouble getting her to sit up straight, but she could do just about anything else. And the detail is stunning in person. Both Rose and now the new girl tempted me! Lol!!! I just don't do much with my smaller dolls, so im resisting.

 

Cool!!! I think you may have convinced me!! I will have to wait to see what Luts does for their winter event, but more than likely I will get her! yay!

 

Yeah, her size isn't for everyone... but I had a Planet Doll Mini (barbie size), To You Sara (barbie size), and a Rose fairy briefly (barbie size)... and I adore the size. I would much rather have tinies than anything bigger than a YoSd. Everyone's tastes are different though. ^_^

Ruse -- yes, Aenigma will have a body like that, unfortunately, with some difficulty sitting.

I just get a little creative with my girls (and now boy, I actually find Auber sits beautifully!), and haven't been as frustrated as I occasionally am with the SG girl body (and I have Alex on layaway, so the frustration can't be so bad, LOL!). Honestly, they are beautifully done, the first impression many people get after playing with the larger dolls is fragility, but they are really wonderful dolls to own.

Lol! I find it exactly the same! What you can't tell in my photo, is that the SG is using the door for support because she would fall without it. The msd is also a bit shaky. But Charlotte and Haidi stand solidly on their own (all the little dolls I have owned were able to). None of my dolls have been restrung (it makes me nervous), so I'm sure my larger two could do better if their strings were tightened.

 

I've been lurking here for too long! I already have an Idrial at home and an Aren on layaway (massive order thanks to Cuba being released XD). When I first saw Aenigma I was SO SURE I was safe...and then I saw her in CW. Well now I'm waiting for 3 Soom dolls to come home. Goodness when Soom gets you they have no mercy do they? 0___0 My Aenigma is going to be the human type since Claire (Idrial) seems to love wearing human type clothes and she needs a friend...or two...I just know I'll be SOOMED again when they release another boy! ;__;

tonight I was trying to imagine how to paint her, which eyes to choose, and the wig, and how to make her outfit.......

 

Lol! I usually stick to MSDs mostly and I was really nervous about this size. I thought I might not be comfortable with it, but the exact opposite happened! Now I'm REALLY hoping for a boy faery! I'm so sad I missed out on the last 2. So far I've only been fussing over Claire's wardrobe and I didn't even start thinking about Aren or Aenigma. 0_0 I'm also SO picky about eyes and wigs that I often change them around for months before picking the right combination...it's a little frustrating when the doll uses unusual sizes for wigs and eyes, but I know I have a couple of months to get them. I was wondering, are the soom minigems (the non faery types like Aren and Garam) OT on this thread?

 

dunno... but think they might be, since they're not in the faery legend line :-3

wigs are 3/4"... pukipuki size. I've tried some fatiao wigs, but they seem to be little to me.
formydoll wigs are pure perfection instead *_____*
plus, which is sooooo good for shoes and so on, minigems can wear blythe shoes perfectly...

I love this size. I can switch from bigger girls to smaller with no difficult. just LOVE them!!!

Does anyone else have tips on dressing/accessorizing the minigem faeries?

 

I adore getting them Enchanted Eyes, some of the sets come in 8mm, which is just awesome, and the vibrant color pops even in tiny form! I've also gotten wigs from Volks that fit to a T, the Dollfie Plus line is awesome!
