i am very new to this world and i am currently waiting for my first ever BJD. before though i was hoping this one doll would be available for preorder, but it doesn't look like it's going to be able anytime soon if ever. I also fell in love with this rat sculpt but i know for a fact the artist is never going to produce it again, i will just be on a look out for a second hand

Time . More specifically, time and energy to work on the outfits of my dolls. I'm in this hobby for 14 years and still have yet to finish a doll. Doesn't help that I won't be able to commission someone, since my funds are so limited. Hopefully next year my health will allow me to finish at least one doll .

 

I still don't own any BJDs. However, I would really like to find Ringdoll's Frankenstein sculpts someday. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find them secondhand so far. Maybe someday when I have marketplace access...

 

I suppose my cat girl that does not exist? I want a 60cm-ish cat girl, but more of a were-lioness. I need her to be more savage/feral looking than what anyone has offered. Pronounced muzzle, large pawed hands and feet and digitgrade legs, and a long nearly down to her ankles tail. She needs to look like she can tear your throat out if the mood should strike her. My Darla needs to be a force to be reckoned with, not a dainty little cutesy cat.

 

The perfect blue wig. It doesn't exist:

Blue. Not navy, not aqua, blue. Preferably bright blue.
Straight. Not wavy, not curly, straight.
No bangs.
Center part. Not unmanagable untameable hair the same length in a circle all around, center part.
Shorter side bits preferable but I'll take all one length at this point.
Traditional wig fiber, heat resisting is fine too, but not mohair, not angora, not synthetic mohair, fiber.

Sigh.

Oh, and a body for my AES head but I haven't been looking for that as long as the perfect blue wig.

 

So many, especially since I joined the hobby late. But I have to say I will consider a holy grail if I ever manage to get WITHdoll lala the nomad, her aesthetic inspires me.

Yes! Not dolls currently, I’ve quite of dolls items accessories. I always leave the expensive items for last and at the end never get them!

 

I echo the jointed hands. I'd love them for my boys especially but have somehow never gotten around to getting a pair yet.

 

I've always wanted to have a doll with wings! Why I haven't gotten around to buying one yet, I have no idea, actually ^^' I think I just keep hesitating on sculpts a lot!

 

I suppose my answer would be a Granado Embody for Logan. I got Logan's head in like '17 when Granado debuted Uriel. He was absolutely perfect for King Logan and his was the second doll/doll part I ever bought. Its three years on now and he's still just a floating head. Other characters and dolls just keep taking precedence over the poor guy. He at least has his face done up but I'm hoping this year I'll be able to ferret away the cash to get him his longed for body.

 

Waaaaaay back when I started the hobby, there were a few dolls I was absolutely in love with before I took a break. Now that I'm back in I'm working on getting the ones I can - I finally have some Luts dolls after all these years (an event head + a Zuzu Delf on order and a Kid Delf on layaway), and I'm getting a Pipos Cheshire.

The one sculpt I still don't have concrete plans for that I've been pinning after for ages is an Iplehouse Carina - because I'd either have to: get her as an EID which is too big for me, get her on a SID/YID body which costs extra, sit around and wait for a floating head to show up which takes time, or get her as an FID which is cheaper but I'm not sure where she'd fit in with my other dolls then.

On a more abstract note, some of the dolls I've had for a while have been missing dolls to play other characters in their story and that's been almost worse than wanting specific sculpts. I've been planning to make Journey to the West characters for ages - but to put it into perspective, my Monkey is an Iplehouse Lion and those were discontinued in 2012...I've finally gotten a Sanzo, but I still need to get a Pigsy and Sandy. (I was thinking of using Carina for Sandy since I wanted her anyway, but idk if she really fits the character)

 

A custom, proportionate body for my Sephiroth Minimee head sculpt. I am not willing to sculpt one myself, but I am also not willing to pay someone else to do it for me. It would be way more money than what I am willing to pay for resin nowadays. So, I feel like I'll die before I'm able to get a semi-decent body for him (although I do try, from time to time, whenever I see new large male BJD bodies with 13+mm necks). Also custom eyes for all my dolls; most people who take commissions for custom eyes make them out of resin, and I'm not a fan of it. I don't mind my dolls mellowing over the years, but I don't want yellow-sclera eyes in them. DX

 

Same. I also want the Asleep Eidolon x Krad Lanrete full set as well (and the human version of the dress).

 

One of Aileen Dolls Cyclops dolls. I love the cyclops girl but she came out when I was on hiatus from the hobby and hasn't been rereleased.

 

Definitely yes! I still would love to have a default/mint Volks Suigintou in her original Rozen Maiden outfit and face-up. Back when she came out for I think pre-order many years ago, I couldn't afford her as I think I was either a poor college student or just had a low wage job that barely paid the bills. I'm a little more comfortable now, but her price has gone up quite a bit and I cringe to think how much "cheaper"/affordable she was back then compared to now. Although she's available in the second hand market and there's a chance to get a one-off version of her every once in a while, her price point now is about worth a couple new dolls all at once and I have a hard time getting over that. Get one doll or possible three to five dolls for the same price? Hmmm.

Another one I wouldn't mind having but it isn't a priority or even a must have would be an original/default/mint Volks Yukinojo. I remember seeing an advertisement for Volks back when I wasn't even into the hobby and he was one of the dolls the kind of converted me over into finding out more about the world of BJDs. I remember seeing him at the Volks USA store in Torrance back when they had a physical store and he was huge. Too big compared to my other dolls, but still pretty awesome. I actually had a chance to buy the newer version of him pretty much mint in box, but that version wasn't as appealing to me as the old version. I think he would be one of the last dolls I would get for my collection, but moreso as a collector's item than something to play with.

There's a whole bunch of Iplehouse dolls I would love to have, but again, I feel like I would be at that point of the hobby where it's just for the sake of collecting and that's a lot of money. If I was really comfortable in life, then yeah, I would do it, but right now not yet.

Nobility doll LIE I feel might disappoint me as I've only seen the promo pictures of him but never really any in real life pictures nor encountered him in the wild, so to speak. And considering how old that doll is, I feel that he would not live up to my expectations, especially since I have newer dolls where you can see the growth of the company's quality when I compare them to the older dolls.

 

Tan Narin by Bimong the SD . I have wanted him for as long as I can remember. I keep thinking that I will save for him but then I spend that savings on my Tan Lishe ~

 

Better hands for my DIM Honey line Alana. I don't like the small flat ones she came with, and the Dollmore ones I got for her this year are as undersized for her as her original ones. And she's 8 years old now, so even if I do get her hands that are the right size the color won't match for a while.

 

Any doll by Dollpamm, lol. hopefully this year or next I can change that but we shall see, too many awesome dolls are available right now and it’s killing me

 

I want a Dust of Dolls cham byol. I'm hoping eventually they will have a preorder. Until then I'm looking on the secondary market.

 

Doll Chateau Ona but the fullset. I love the elegant fantasy style, but it is so well over what I can afford. Maybe in the far future if I am lucky.

 

With me it's not really as much of a money issue as that I'm a revolving door and always have too little time. But, I've already completed my collection (may be a subject to subtle changes, like one doll in, on out throughout a year or so) and I plan to get down to it, finally. And what I want is a bunch of tattoos on a few of my dolls (like 3 out of 5?) and I've been thinking of buying nail stickers and working with them and regular pencils to fill the gaps to make tattoos on my dolls

 

One of Elleo's bjd cats for the Emerson's expedition. The sculpt & engineering is fantastic. I've figured out I need either the 7 or 8 cm cat(I think?).
Have even put it in my shopping cart a couple times over the years. But then ball at the idea of spending as much or more on this small critter than I would for a full size doll & talk myself out of it. Bastet would mostly be a prop for Ramses & I just can't bring myself to buy the jointed one as a doll for my doll. ;}

 

Yes, I really want a DollZone “the moon” from the tarot series. But she was limited and is kinda hard to get therefore. But maybe one day I shall own her Sadly I missed out on a second hand one just a month ago - which was the first one I had seen on the market in a year+

2D doll Cream! What a stunner. He was one of the first dolls to catch my eye... yet I still haven't gotten him. Probably because I'm deeply afraid of being disappointed in a "grail."

 

Not something I’ve wanted forever, but for the past six months since I got back into the hobby, I’ve been champing at the bit for the Volks Layered Frill Belt (White). I can find the black one no problem, but the white one has been impossible to find both at Volks’ physical stores (I've checked multiple Dollpoints and even a Tenshi no Sumika) and in the secondhand market (and I’ve looked EVERYWHERE). I have so many alerts set up for it on so many different sites so I hope one day it surfaces haha

 

SOOM Idealian Hyperon open eyes. LOL. I have Hyperon in Romantic and Scared face (not interested in the Fang version, but who's know?) but I am waiting on open eye version. I took break right after I got my Romantic Hyperon and seem he was re-release multiple times after I left the hobby. It's just matter of time right? Come on SOOM!!!! (more like begging than demanding to SOOM). hahahaha

Edited: SOOM has Free choice Event for 2021 and Open eye/Basic Hyperon is re-release for this time. My dream came true. To all of you out there, there is hope!

 

ive always wanted a minifee :/ even tho ik it probably seems basic but when i first discovered the hobby minifee chloe was the first doll ive ever seen! im happy to say that now that i have the funds i was able to snag one secondhand and i have her on layaway rn! another one is dim larina & flowne! so sad i wasn’t able to get one before they closed :/ hopefully soon

The one thing I always meant to buy and still haven't to this day: proper carrying cases for my dolls.

Still to this day, for meets or whatnot, I just sit my dolls in a large flat-bottomed tote bag. I mean, it does work well and is quite convenient. But it's not necessarily safe or secure. My friend did just give me a DOD-DOC sized carrying case she received with a doll, and it does actually fit one SD doll well. But with my current doll family, I still would like to invest in a double-sized SD case, like the ones sold by Dollmore.

 

I've wanted a Loongsoul Pharaur Modern version fullset since I first saw him, but I've never seen anyone selling one and for some reason I'm kind of afraid to put out a looking for post. I think I'm afraid of being disappointed. Plus space is always an issue.

 

Speak of the devil, it surfaced on YJA last week and I managed to win it over the weekend. It’s now safely in my stash of dolly clothes

At first it was IG Wolf Bane, but I finally got my hands on them a few months back. So now is prolly a Soom Idealian boy. Been wanting to have one but its always wrong timing and some just didnt appeal to me until later //regretz//

 

When I first got into the hobby in 2014 and ordered my first dolls I didn't have enough money to order the extra parts for them. Alphonse's fullset had him come with resin wings and Adolphus had the option to add on a set of human legs in addition to the fantasy ones that I ordered him with. I've wanted to get him human legs practically since I placed the order but just have yet to actually do it. Finding the wings for Alphonse would also be REALLY nice but I think legs I've been wanting for longer

SD17 Cecile from Volks. My parents aren't allowing me to invest that much in a hobby, so I'll get him when I capable of earning money myself. His pirate look is soooo stunning I just couldn't imagine not having him someday!

 

I want Volks suigintou so much but the original dolls of her is way too old. They yellowed too much. The new ones from oneoff models are impossible for me to get. So sad

 

When I first got into the hobby (2007-08), I really wanted a DoD Homme Ducan, but I never got a chance to save up for him before I quit my part time HS job to go to college. Then I returned in 2014 and was quite broke, so I couldn't afford him. Then I returned again this spring and heard the sad news that DoD closed down years ago, and Ducan is very expensive now, on the rare occasions he pops up at all. I specifically want one with company face up, sooooooo I don't know if that will ever happen now. Sigh.

 

A legit Fairyland Chicline female body. Sigh...

 

The one that comes to mind for me would have to be Impldoll Plaice. He's one of the earliest sculpts I recall wanting badly after reentering the hobby in 2014/2015, and still have plans to acquire at some point. My goals on who I would shell him as have shifted in that time, but I hope to get him at some point in the next year or so.

 

I posted in this thread a few years ago that I wanted a large shelving unit for dioramas. I think I still want this, or at least a simple display shelf, possibly encased, so I can keep a few dolls on display, clean, and protected from UV light.
I have more space now, so I think I should be able to make this happen soon.

 

Oh, there are a couple things that I want, but I think one of the hardest things to source would probably be that adorable Batchix msd. I cannot remember her name, but she was darling, with her lines and keyhole and her little built in shoes.

the second thing would probably be a Dollheart Fer.

 

I've talked about this in another thread recently, but this is a good question. I am a huge fan of the characters in the FInal Fantasy VII game. I got into BJDs in the first place because I wanted to make a doll of my favorite characters. For several years I have been trying to put together everything I need for the character Reno. I obtained one thing at a time, until now the only thing I need to do is to find someone who can do and is willing to do his faceup.

In the meantime I am almost finished with a doll of the character Elena of The Turks from FFVII. Just waiting on part of her outfit..

Hmm, I'd probably have to say a vinyl anime-esque doll like a smartdoll or dollfie dream! I had always wanted one before I descovered resin bjds, and while my furvor for anime faded, I still do like them. The price, size, availability, and fear of staining has kept me from making any plans to actually buy one (although I can dream of someday buying a smartdoll Kizuna, I love her sculpt so much!)

 

Definitely soom tiny gem Grey & Ace Desert Wanderer (boy body)! He was the first bjd I ever fell in love with, and it was during his order period! But as much as I loved his red hair and cat ears, I was too new to the hobby to consider spending that much. Also the Hya & Ralis Lost in Oblivion shard blue eyes from soom. Ahhh I wish soom didn't have strict order periods on everything they release! haha

 

A handsome resin man. I have a bunch on my wishlist, I've picked out a couple in a couple different sizes but... Just can't bring myself to take the plunge. It's a couple Iplehouse and Soom boys but I just... I dunno. Every time I think I want one, I do a little bit of estimating of how much it would cost and just can't bring myself to buy him. I keep thinking that I'm not gonna be able to convince myself to keep him around and wind up selling him, just losing a bunch of money in the process.

 

I'm still yet to find an acoustic and an electric guitar suitable for Iplehouse EID male. I'd also like a motorbike for him.

 

Soom Epidos. It'll never, ever happen, but if I were to be given 3 wishes from a genie...
So many BJD Centaurs have weird horse anatomy, but that body is really very nice. I'd totally paint him up like an appaloosa and have him in full Western tack and clothing.

 

Soom Ender with the Anubis head. I've loved Anubis since I was a child, and I didn't have the money to order him when he came out. They only come up for sale secondhand once in a blue moon, but I'm hoping one day I'll hit the right combo of someone selling him + not being poor.

 

5 years ago in this thread I bemoaned the fact that ‘d never have an Iplehouse EID Luo or a Doll Chateau Christina. Too big, I told myself. The Luo I simply never had a character to justify his purchase, and that is still the case (and he’s since been long discontinued.) But with the Christina, I eventually realized I was just longing for a Doll Chateau SD, and eventually found one of their SD sculpts that fascinated me even more! I brought home a Doll Chateau Gladys A on the mechanical body, so that longing has happily been met in an even more spectacular way.

 

Doll stands! I keep thinking I can make them myself but I've still never got round to it. I'd also like a proper place to display and store my dolls which I did have up until needing that space for other things. I suppose once I've sorted the display cabinet out I'll have more of a dire need for stands.

 

Similar to above- a display set(s)! I’d love a bird cage with a seat but have yet to find one big enough that it ridiculously expensive

 

I really want to get some merry doll round bjd dolls the small ones I think is call a Dango or Moose they are so tiny but so cute. I really want to own a Luts Delf Soony and Chiwoo but I don't think it will ever happen. A girl can dream.

 

There are a couple of dolls that I want desperately but I'll never get them. DoD is out of business, and I remember when they first released Kalix, I wanted him desperately, but alas. The other is a Soom Chrom, I was still around when he came out too, and I loved him.
