I'm sorry guys, with moving the voting for this one is not going up tomorrow. I'm through about 3/4ths of the entries (there are around 105), and I hope to get them up Saturday. Sorry for the delay, but real life comes first this time.

Don't worry about it, armeleia. I know that moving can be incredibly stressful (I just moved back in June). Hopefully everything is going smoothly for you ^_^

 

Moving in the summer stinks, but to move in the winter is worse. Take your time, and remember to hydrate yourself as you move.

 

Don't feel stressed. we all appreciate what you guys do. This forum is run very well.I can't thank you enough for the pleasure the den of angels has brought me.

No prob. Life comes at you fast sometimes. Here I got school next week, adjusting my job, and looking for a place to live AND then moving before monday! O.o ack!

I'll admit I'm antsy, but I wouldn't want you to overwork yourselves or miss anything, so take as much time as you need.

what a shame... i mean the first dress i made for my doll was form an old Londonsdale sock i had ... managed to make her socks, hat , top and skirt :P :P

Thanks for all the well-wishes. It was exciting, to say the least.... happy to be just relaxing tomorrow, maybe building a bookshelf.

The entries are up. I apologize that the details for each otufit are not included - I just don't have time now. After the contest, people can share all the nitty-gritty they'd like! (As it is, I formatted all the bbcode in Excel to get these up... so it was pretty quick once I'd saved all the pics from the PMs and recorded what belonged to whom!)

Okay I am seriously in awe of some of you guys right now... I honestly had the hardest time choosing which I liked best, they are so amazing! DoA has such tremendous talent, I swear you guys should go on Project Runway or something! Just fantastic work, guys!

Hats off to all of you that entered into this competition. All entries were brilliant (especially the nude boy barely covered by a sock!) It was difficult to choose just one.

 

Maybe after the contest we can make a Sock Couture buy/sell/trade thread in the MP, the way there is a Dollheart fukubukuro thread every year. (There are a couple that I love too!)

 

@_@ wow, I wish I had such talent, was definatly a toughie to choose a favourite.

 

There is definitely one I would fight people for to buy. COME ON, BRING IT ON. It's a TLC match and I'm reaching for the belt! >:O

I'd be in. I wish my own sock stylins were anywhere near that calibre!

 

This contest will make me never underestimate socks again. Wow, some of those outfits are just breath taking, and others look so comfortable to wear. It's amazing what people did.

 

Every time I look through the voting thread I discover more impressive details and little touches that show such skill and creativity. I knew there were going to be some incredible entries, but some of them far exceeded my wildest imagination. I especially love the variety in the interpretations from every day outfits, to costumes, to sleepwear, to wedding dresses, to mermaids!

I really hope everyone will post more pictures and the specifics of their outfits after the contest is over because there were many that I would love to see and hear about in greater detail.

wow, there are SO many nice ones! Such a diverse collection, too. I think a few really stand out detail wise though, a couple look like they took forEVER to make. The little details and effort look amazing!
But yeah, wow, didn't think so much could be made from SOCKS.

 

I was amazed by some of the entries. They were epic! I'm super impressed!


However, I didn't know we could use zippers!
I thought only sock-ish stuff could be used...

I totally would've made a hoodie... or something, lol. XD

But seriously, these are incredible, beyond imagination, even! I am in awe of the talent shown here I knew I didn't stand a chance, but wow! *applauds*

 

OMG Brilliance! I am so inspired by this contest! Like...wow...all made from socks, it's amazing! And now that I think about how some of the ruffles were made, it makes me think "that's so clever!" >w<

 

I would love to be able to converse with some of my fellow contestants. There are a few techniques I would like clarification on. I really hope there will be a thread where we can do that.

There is definitely some serious creativity going on there.

I think some of the ruffles were made by cutting the butt out of a pair of baby rhumba tights. If I had wanted to go Loli that is what I would have done.

Wow, it was sooo hard to vote on this. There were so many AMAZING entries... i'm sorry that we were only allowed to vote for one, but I want everyone who entered to know that they did a wonderful job and are all winners in my book!

It's so hard to decide!

They are all really amazing and I think every single person who entered should be really proud of what they made. There are about 30 outfits I'd like for my dolls. Then I narrowed it down to 19 I might vote for and now after some really really hard work I'm down to 6.

Some of the outfits I know I'm NOT voting for is really so well made and so imaginative they are work of art - but they are just not my style.

Someone said that the one you vote for should not just be wonderful, beautiful and extreemly well made - but totally mind blowing. I guess that's right.
