I set my Briar eyes 6mm oval ( OVAL ).
For my Briar eyes 8mm- does not look nice,too big

 

These dolls are magnificent! This is the first time I've seen this brand. I'm going to have to do some homework now. These mature faces are exactly what I'm after.

 

Can I just ask if anyone who has oredered their doll since I did on November the first, if you have actually received your doll yet? I'm just curious if you have your dolls from Dollfair or did you order elsewhere because I STILL don't have the doll that was listed as in stock on their website and I'm getting worried. Thank you

 

Have you contacted Dollfair about your order? It's not especially long for a new doll in general (I always figure 3-4 months for a direct overseas order and am surprised if it's faster than that) but the site does seem to promise faster delivery than that. . . . I got mine off the DoA marketplace so no real knowledge about ordering a new one.

 

I ordered Briar 7 august 2010. (no make-up) -and get in my house in Poland 14 September 2010.everything to be ok, cool touch

 

This was a blank doll marked as "In Stock" on the website. I have been told the doll needed a new head cap but that was supposed to have been made weeks ago then had an email before Christmas saying it was being shipped out next day but have never heard anything since and not been given a tracking number. With all the aggro on the Dollfair/Narin thread on going, when I saw new people talking about their Briar's I kind of hoped that Dollfair were shipping stuff and fullfilling orders.

 

Would just like to point out, for anyone thinking of ordering a Sleetwealth Briar from Dollfair/Atelier Nouveau etc, that I was told that my blank, nude doll was the last in stock, and that this had a damaged head cap which would need to be recast. I was told that these blank, nude "In Stock" dolls would be removed from the website but I just went back to the link and put one in my basket, don't know if it would have let me pay but to avoid disappointment, I think people need to be patient and wait until the current situation with Dollfair is sorted out.

I've waited 2 months now for the head cap to be recast and even been told my doll was about to be shipped over a fortnight ago but I've never been given a tracking number, so either it will appear on the doorstep soon or is still sat in the Dollfair offices, I don't know as .I've not had answers to emails, although, with the holiday season, I guess I should cut them some slack. I don't want to think the worst as many people on the Dollfair/Narin thread now seem to, but if you really want a Briar just be patient, check the MP for pre-owned and don't order from Dollfair until things are resolved unless you want to feel as anxious as I have since ordering.

 

I do know that Dollfair does not update their website regularly, I had the same experience when the Captiva Briar with the white facial tattoo remained on the site long after she had arrived here at home. When I finished my layaway she was shipped in a reasonable time frame, but that was a year ago and I don't know what's going on now. I do know they have a very small office staff.

 

I am Anita Collins creator of Sleetwealth Briar. I am no longer associating with Catrina Sanders of Dollfair/Atelier Nouveau and I would recommend that future buyers not purchase from her. Nor do I recommend artists looking to have their sculpture cast. I am working with a new more reliable resin caster to deliver the elf ear version of Briar. I sent Briar's elf ear head in August of 2009 and my master was kept.

I am fast coming to the conclusion that Dollfair has no intention of sending me the doll I paid for, am looking into if I can get a refund through Visa.

 

Thank you for sharing this difficult circumstance. In the Narae/Dollfair Waiting Room we're gathering as much information as we can to help deal with our problems. I hope you don't mind that I cut and pasted your post to the Narae Waiting Room. I wish you good luck also and hope your master is eventually returned to you.

 

I'm happy that we are not losted a chance to buy a Briar! Cause i really want and plan to buy one this year!

Really sorry to hear that, I hope you can get a refund ok. It makes me so angry that Dollfair is doing this.

Regarding an elf Briar, I have been waiting for one since Briar was first cast, so I am very excited to hear about this. When I first saw her I immediately thought she had fae-like features and would suit elf/fairy ears. BOL with the new venture

 

Latest development: Got an email from Jo Ross at Dollfair this morning asking for my address again and saying that she has been overwhelmed by the amount of things she has to do as Catrina is still ill. She says my doll is shipping in the morning and I will get a tracking number tomorrow.

I will wait before celebrating as I have been here before, but will report here is I get the tracking number, and, gasp, the doll herself!

 

OH VONBONBON!!! I will be on pins and needles, waiting to hear any news from you...keepin my fingers crossed, and PLEASE let us know as soon as you get any info!!!

Well it's Thursday here now, almost a week after getting that email from "Jo Ross", so much for the second promise that the doll was ready to ship. Have given up all hope and asked VISA for a chargeback on my card payment. Fingers crossed on that score, that's all I am hoping for as I guess I will never see the doll.

 

Vonbonbon, I'm sorry Hopefully once your money is refunded and Briar is being produced by someone else, you can get her... or pick on up in the MP. I wonder about 'Jo Ross' also

 

Have now reluctantly filed a Chargeback claim with VISA, and filed out complaints with the BB, Ohio Attorney Generals Office, etc... This whole thing has been horrible.

Just for anyone joining this thread late and wanting a Sleetwealth Briar, wait until Anita finishes production of her elf version and buy from her new company, Please Do Not Buy from Dollfair/Atelier Nouveau's websites at this point until this company clears the vast backlog of refunds it has on it's plate

Yes, please keep us updated about your situation. I am so grateful for these threads. I knew there was some issues with Dollfair with the Bimong sculpts, but I thought that was specifically dealing with him. I would have had no idea Dollfair was causing such further difficulty wih their other partnerships! I'm definitely looking forward to any news about Anita's own shop! I am having dreams of a tan elf eared Briar dancing with my lovely Victorian Winter Odette in my fairy garden.

 

Just passing this along for those who like to sew -- Gracefaerie's Lilac Afternoon (for MSD) pattern fits Briar perfectly at 85 percent and about a half-inch overlap in the back (which I like, because it means plenty of room for velcro and not fiddling with snaps). I was lazy and didn't do the ruffled tiers:

I hope Anita is able to make her own doll shop soon. I have so many plans for Briar but I am not going to stoop to ordering from Dollfair at this point

 

Hi, just to say that my Visa refund was successful so at least I got my money back. This was NOT thanks to Dollfair though. Please anyone thinking of ordering Briar, don't send your money to Dollfair/Atelier Nouveau, wait until Anita gets her now casting place ready and order direct.

Dale Rae Designs makes shoes that fit Briar very well.

 

I wanted to share; I found a clothes line that fits Briar really well -- Impdloll's Child line. Inexpensive, too. Impldoll's slim-minis (MSDs) are so slim that the clothes fit Briar. In the case of the boy outfit I bought, the pants are short so length isn't even an issue. I modded the jacket to be open, just to show off the cute trim on the pants. The pants ride low but are otherwise snug. Her top and her suede heels are part of the Ellowyne Wilde "Royal Pain" outfit. With apologies for breaking the one-picture rule; I really wanted to show how well this fits.

 

Wow, that's great news! I LOVE one of the child IMPL doll outfits O_O but I don't currently own any dolls with their slim proportions. I do so wish Briar would become available soon

 

I agree. Briar is a lovely doll, and my daughter has been wanting her for a while. Recently, I was in a position to be able to afford her - and found out that there was all the trouble with Dollfair.

Now I'm waiting, too...

 

I just discovered ( D'oh, don't know where my head has been!) that Fairyland's ChicLine dolls are a compatible size with Briar. And here I've been searching for a companion for her in vain, not finding anything of similar size until now.

Do any of you Briar owners also have a ChicLine?? I'd love to see pictures to see how they look together.

Also, there's a new doll out of Australia - Alexis Rose (see news thread) who is the same size.. Wow, my Briar will no longer have to be lonely, I can get her a companion!!!

 

Claywimmin, I got a Chicline El for Briar and immediately turned around and sold him. To me, his head was way too small. I'm going to order a Dollmore FMD for her in June. He's off topic on DoA. The shorter cutout in that group is Orientdoll Tae (or maybe it's Dae), who is almost perfect for Briar (and there may still be one on the marketplace). I just wanted an older look. . . Meanwhile I will scrounge through my files, I think I have a photo of Briar with El. I'll upload it and then modify my post to include it.

Still no news on Briar lately? Does anyone have Anita's email address? I wouldn't mind sending her an inquiry to see if she's still planning on releasing her own casts of Briar (or elf Briar!) I've been so tempted by the Briar on the MP but I figured I should wait in case the elf Briar does wind up finally coming out.

I've been following her DA and her blog but she never posts news about Briar, just her sculptures. I hope she hasn't forgotten about the beauty and wonder of BJDs, or was too burnt out by the Dollfair fiasco that brought Briar's official sales to a screeching halt

 

This time last year I had a heartbreaking experience of trying to buy a Briar from Dollfair and was extremely lucky to get my money back but never saw the doll of course. I decided to forget about ever owning this lovely little doll, but 12 months later and I finally have a happy ending: I got to adopt a second hand Briar from a UK owner on ebay and I'm very happy with her. I will post pics of her when I have a chance to stamp my own style on her

I have been waiting with bated breath for the artist to come back to the long-lost Sleetwealth Briar but it seems by now she has moved on to other things and forgotten about us here in the BJD hobby

Congrats, vonbonbon!!! I feel quite embarrassed to say I actually saw that doll on eBay (at least, I'm assuming it was the same one; she came dressed and the face up was by the owner) ... but it never occurred to me to post in here. I think I was too preoccupied trying to figure out if it would be possible for me to afford her! - But at this time of year I just couldn't manage it. I'm just so glad you've finally got her after waiting so long, and so glad this Briar has found a home where she'll be loved and appreciated - happy endings all around! Looking forward to your photos, of course!!

Oh yeah, I feel sure it will happen; I think Anita was very badly hurt by the way she was treated by Dollfair, and just needs enough recovery time. A comment she made on one of my Flickr photos suggested to me she still has plenty of love there for Briar. I'm content to wait for her to be released again by a reputable dealer when the time is right ... she's just so beautiful I cannot believe she won't be back again. It has to happen - please!!

If anyone's looking for Briar, there's one up on eBay at the moment. Opening bid of $400, which is pretty good; I think I paid $500 each for my girls. Wish I could go for this one, but alas! I have no funds to spare ... but anyway, good luck to whoever wants her!

Just popping in here a sec to share a photo and some clothing info. This is my Briar with her beau, an OT Dollmore FMD, Jeremy. Briar is wearing an Impldoll Child outfit which fits her PERFECTLY and is really cute on her -- and some Ellowyne Wilde heels, which improves makes her a bit taller for the 43cm Jeremy. She can wear some Ellowyne Wilde shoes, but some are too small. The wig is Elle from Jpop, size 5-6 and is a bit big but I think it looks cute on her.

 

Does anyone still have their Sleetwealth Briar dolls? I noticed almost all the photos in this thread are expired

 

I have mine, but I've never photographed her. I have had a very busy couple of years and my dolls are hibernating, lol! She's still one of my very favorites. I've sold most of my larger BJDs because of arthritis and I had to move to a very small house. Maybe by the weekend I can dig her out and share a few photos.I have a really difficult time sharing pictures here. I can't ever seem to get the right codes to post.

 

I would love to see her if you are able to Of course don't put yourself out over it, though That arthritis sounds awful
