Sio2 Dolls

Oh my god I hope Burmilla is available again! I'm so sad I missed her the first time.

 

I suggest so, but i dont really understand the whole banner xD I hope it isn't from last year or sth?
I combined because i read somewhere sio2 wanted to do something on etsy?
Did they had a international release for burmilla before?
Don't want to spread false news by misunderstanding - i didn't follow their topics for a long time but thats what i understand ^^;

 

Last year's dates were Mid June - Mid July I believe. A cursory Google Translate says they'll have a "variety of packages" and "varety of hands" available, which I'm hoping is the same as last time? They had four bundles last time with different legs and hands available. I also believe they were open for International Orders then too so that text confuses me. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Fingers crossed!

The website seems to be not always updated. And as i read the comments still nothing happened on etsy, so it might be delayed.

I saw the bundles, but on the page itself are still the old dates.

One can only hope! Since I would love to get a Ragdoll astonish face! Even though I was under the impression that their dolls were limited edition but I guess it’s not anymore if they’re re-releasing Burmilla.

 

I would suggest that they be limited but they doing a second additional international pre-order? (it seems to be that everything was on taobao and then over website or now available soon through etsy)
Don't know what's their philosophy. But often i saw the same bodys with new faces or wigs :3 so i think there will be another Chance.

I've searched on their website their claiming
"Since this series is not limited, we don’t provide layaway for Bleater and Civet cat.
We do have layaway plans for our Doll in Month."
So i would guess the Doll in a month a very limited. But the others might be re-released as the want because their listet as previous work?

 

Since they released their international website, the norm seems to be releasing on their international with different set / full set options then 1-2 months after release on their china store with no options (Burmilla, Peach Deer SP, bust...etc). OR they do releases at the same time on their international website and their blog (Little Prince). Usually in all cases, their dolls (usually 1/6 dolls) are sold first at conventions as limited edition with custom outfits and blushing which is also sold on Yahoo Japan Auctions (sold probably by Yeko has she does the blushing/outfits; also supported by the fact that Wood Habitat & Yeko's social media are seen with posts written in Japanese).

Their previous work list gets updated with previous Doll of a Month list. Once the pre-orders for the Doll of a month it's archived as previous work. I know for certain dolls they explicitly mention that it's Limited Edition such as Ragdoll and other doll/parts in which they don't plan on re-releasing but now it seems like they're slowly changing that but it might be Wood Habitat's decision more so than Ziqian Jun's.

The initial system's been changing since the artists have been split as Wood Habitat and Yeko have been selling on their China Store at the same time as International sales that's being promoted through Instagram, Twitter and their Chinese and Japanese blogs.

I'm unsure if the artists have sorted their issues out as there hasn't been much word from Ziqian Jun as last we heard she's been locked out of her social media accounts and even on her Chinese blog the last post from her was her hospital stay then randomly her profile photo and background photo was changed to non-bjd related images which before always showcased her bjd work.

Also according to their website, Ziqian Jun focuses on doll heads such as Peach Deer, White Dew, Cold Dew...etc while DY (Wood Habitat?) focuses on comprehensive art such as Funan, and Aoandon.

Sio2 posted a really strange post on her Facebook on March 26th. I don't really understand what it means but it looks like there is some sort of conflict between her and Wood Habitat? If someone could translate this, it might provide more insight into the situation.

 

Someone mentioned in the Facebook Group that she's still hospitalized and thus she can't reply or work on past orders and they should be forwarded to Wood Habitat.

i would say she lost her Facebook account but i'm not sure. The wbsite also mention contacting over instagram and etsy are the safe way.

Codol's closing date is on 4/5. For some reason Wood Habitat closed Codol's pre-order early on his side but you can still pre-order Codol through Yeko who ships them. However since the pre-order is on her Taobao store you'll have to use an agent or Taobao international directly.

I heard apparently that her personal FB account is still hers but I'm not 100% sure. Although Sio2 forwarded their audience to Instagram and Etsy, apparently there has been no reply for a couple weeks now so...

 

I'm also thinking about codol... but i'm mainly only need the body XD but i dont think i would find only a sio2 head for it... so i think i hsve to be patient for a fulldoll i like.

Yeah with Facebook it's my own conclusion, because she said she got only access to it because chrome was logged in and now there aren't any of this poste left

This is so exciting!! I hope that I can start my job soon enough to get in on this, I've wanted the lil sheep for a long time.

 

Just be aware that there are recast of Bleater and to my knowledge Sio2 does not have any official authorized reseller. I see Legend also has a BlackBox Anubis for sale which I know is sold out and has recast as well. I'm not saying that the dolls listed on Legend Doll are recast since I have never purchased from Legend Doll myself but just putting that knowledge out there.

I would recommend either purchasing directly from Sio2's international website, getting the Bleater with the marine outfit on their China store or wait until they restock their China store with blank Bleater.

Legend Doll is a trustworthy dealer. I have purchased from them twice before.

They also have an agreement with Granado to sell their heads out of season. My impression is that they are also the international front for a Taobao store (or a reseller, like Alice's Collections). Sometimes the national and international markets have different selling rules (like Granado or PygmalionDoll) and sometimes companies carry dolls no longer in stock from the original company (like DenverDoll and OobieDoll hold discontinued dolls in stock or Alice's allows you to order discontinued Impldoll direct from the company).

Today my Codol arrived today! I posted some photos here the full unboxing is on my IG live for the next 24 hours Jelly (@jellysfancy) • Instagram photos and videos

There’s also an update to the new doll as shown in the head. Before it was etched with Sio2’s artist name and it was a twisting lock mechanism. For Codol it’s magnetic and the head plate is a tiny 3D rendering of Codol’s Head with the Chinese characters Wood Habitat above.

 

Ah, forgive me if this is now the wrong place to mention this as it pertains to Wood Habitat and not necessarily Sio2 (didn't see a separate thread made yet), but I found something interesting I thought I should share! Sorry in advance for the textwall haha~

I randomly happened across a listing on Taobao for the new wolf boy who has been posted frequently on Wood Habitat's Twitter/Instagram. I remember seeing the rendering of this boys wolf legs years ago on Sio2's blog and loved them so much so when I saw them again via Wood Habitat I got really excited and kind of stalked around their social media a bit hoping for potential release information haha~ Anyway, I pretty much rely on Google translate for Taobao so I appologize I can't be much help with translation, but to my limited understanding the seller's name is "Arc Palace" and this is a type of group survey/pre-order listing similar to what was originally done with the first of Sio2's little anime/anthro dolls (before they had an official website/international dealers etc. and they could only be found on Taobao) where all the parts had not been made yet? For example, one of the listings mention they are going to make a tail for him that touches the ground to help him stand which we haven't seen before. Anyway, it just took me by surprise because i've been keeping an eye on Wood Habitat's Twitter/Instagram and don't recall them mentioning they were going to start a pre-order either domestically or internationally just yet and I don't think I saw anyone mention anything here either so that's... interesting...
It looks as though the Wolf boy is going to come in a huge range of colors too? From being on Taobao a while and unfortunately seeing tons of recast listings I was immediately skeptical about the legitimacy of this listing when I saw a ton of random resin colors never officially offered by the company before from a store name I don't recognize, but considering this boy hasn't even been released before I thought i'd pass it along for anyone who also has been eyeing the cute Wolf boy

The seller has separate listings for ears/tail parts, color choice, and for clothes concepts too I think?

I'll be insanely hyped if this is totally legit and he'll be offered in so many different resin colors, but with how questionable the split between Wood Habitat and Sio2 has been and how random this listing seems i'm trying not to get too excited just yet...

So Arc Palace is one of WH's friend and commissioned Wood Habitat to design Zilang the Wolf and opened the shop to sell. The rights to sell Zilang the Wolf Boy belongs to Arc Palace. Arc Palace is new thus, as of now, there is no international shop to sell him and it's unclear if there will be any plans to.

Because Arc Palace is selling Zilang, they are selling in fantasy colors as well, although there is an added fee to it. You can purchase the ears/tail in fantasy colors too though it says that the entire doll will be in one color thus you can't pick and choose i.e. normal skin with purple wig, legs though I think you can choose to have the ears/tail in a different color.

Anyways, Zilang is not a recast and is authentic He costs a bit more than all previous 1/6 dolls though probably due to commissioning WH to design him and because they are new thus less following which equates to less sales.

All this info is from Wood Habitat himself who told me a week or two ago as I keep in touch with him

As much as i'm all for doing a bit of digging around the internet for dolls/artists that I'm super interested in, I usually never badger the artist themselves with questions (especially if they may not speak English all that well) since I always imagine they probably deal with that all the time and it has to get annoying after a while. But in this case, i'm glad to see that you were able to start a conversation with them to clear up a lot of things!
Yeah, it seemed pretty unlikely it was actually a recast situation since (to my knowledge) he hadn't actually been released before, but you know, after spending enough time on Taobao you get a bit skeptical of the authenticity of basically everything haha~
Super glad to know all this info though! Hmm, I was going to wait until he was officially available internationally, but knowing he may not be I may just jump in on getting him through a Taobao agent, if possible. Glad that I randomly happened upon him on Taobao or else I may have missed him completely! Have to settle on a color though, it makes it so hard to choose when there are so many!

 

I saw Zilang on the China blog almost a month ago and was confused since the blog wasn't WH (turns out it was Arc Palace's) thus I reached out to him just in case it was a copy or something. Thankfully it wasn't so that's good

So what is the difference between Sio2 and Wood Habitat? Does Wood Habitat have an official website? (Im unable to find it while google searching.)

The Desinger DY was formerly part of sio2. They splitted up 4-5 month ago. Wood Habitat has a twitter and a taobao store.

 

Has anyone purchased from sio2 recently and got their dolls? Looking to buy cat and sheep from the website.

 

Please know that Wood Habitat was banned from Den of Angels. All works created by that artist are also banned and may not be discussed on the forum.

 

I haven’t purchased anything recently from their international shop. You should try to message them either via Email, their Etsy shop or one of their social medias to see if orders for Bleater and/or Civet is still open. If not then I know a few that are on sale in the secondhand market which you can take a look at ^___^

I ordered Civet Cat and Bleater in December and contacted them in April to ask when they're planning on shipping the items. They said both dolls will be shipping by the end of June. E-mailed Sio2 again now in July because I've not received any shipping notice. I've tried to contact them with e-mails and on Instagram too. I just want to know where my order is. Does anyone have a link to their Etsy store? It seems to have disappeared from their Instagram info. Has anyone been in contact with them in past few weeks?

 

Sio2 was hospitalized for several months however she recovered in late April. Last time I heard she was locked out of her social media accounts. I think she still has her Etsy and her personal Facebook. I think there's also a new support email.

 

I heard about the incident and that's why I contacted their new support email to make sure they know about my order and nothing is lost. They messaged me back soon. Now, after the promised shipping date, I've heard nothing. Still searching for a link that Etsy store, search gives me nothing. I've also tried contacting Sio2 through FB.

 

I searched for the etsy store, but i can't find it now. Guess it's closed

as far is i know it was planned to sell Yako via etsy - but i'm guessing it never happened because they broke up. So the store is still empty.

 

Suddenly I get a tracking number for EMS parcel and apparently it's moving - slowly but surely. I got the tracking number 3 days ago but I've not been using the internet for over a week. I'll update here once the package gets home. I did get a short message before this saying they're preparing my order to be sent. My order is almost month late, it would've been nice if they kept customers informed if there's delays. I'm ok with waiting if I'm informed.

Just a warning, Ragdoll & Lipstick has been recasted. It's offered in 6 skintones as well as 4 of their resin wigs and a pair of hands.

 

I received my Sio2 sheep from a website email order. I was surprised there was no CoA or documentation. Some of the hands are yellower than others, and I got 2 left gun hands (instead of 1 right and a left) and got a small refund rather than replacement or option to purchase. Very odd customer service

She arrived with two left hands. I purchased via a dealer, so they contacted the artist and was able to get me a right hand!
Sio2 charged for it tho, thankfully my dealer covered the cost..

They look similar like Astonished Ragdoll, but they don't have a mouth and are only available in the normal skin colour. You could mod them if you wanted! Not sure if they're limited.

I’m so excited about Liangyue! I went ahead and placed my order even though I’m a little unsure how I’ll handle the face up (a tiny drawn on mouth might look cute?? I don’t want to mod at all..) or the clothes for that matter haha... and yet I still can’t wait!

Anyone have any suggestions in the clothing department?

 

I'm excited for Liangyue as well! She's currently being shipped to me with her blank head and the LE 20 Wink head (though I think it will be re-released again at a later date). Once she arrives I'll post pics

edit: Also interesting that her packaging is different from the other 1/6 dolls. It's a slimmer box in black.
