Hello everyone! Alright, big post here with *hopefully* some helpful info for you all!

I’ve been quiet mainly due to work and getting my Lipstick and Burmilla set up. But I wanted to provide some updates and info that might help those of you waiting for Aoandon (or those of you who are already SIO2 tiny owners)!

Firstly, I’ve been trying a variety of eyes and wig sizes on both girls. Despite what SIO2 recommends, after doing some comparison between 12mm, 14mm, and 16mm eyes, I have found 14mm works best (in my opinion). It should be noted: flat back eyes are preferred with these girls. Their heads are so small that stems hardly fit and can interfere with the hook holding her head to her body. Additionally, you can’t use too much putty with the eyes because the head cap twists on. If there’s too much, it can interfere.


I wanted anime style eyes for these girls, so I ordered some Glib eyes. Right- Lipstick with 12mm Glib Chara eyes; Left Lipstick and Burmilla with 14mm Glib Chara eyes (and Kikipop dresses).


As for wigs, I’ve tried on a variety and the best fitting things I have found by far are 5-6 inch wigs (ForMyDoll and Crobi wigs have enough stretch to fit perfectly in this size). I tried 6-7 wigs and both girls were just swimming in them, so the smaller size works a little better in my opinion.

As for clothes, I’ve been having a heck of a time finding things that fit. PureNeemo L, Kikipop, and Blythe shirts and tops fit well. But finding bottoms has been quite the chore. Leekeworld Art Body B stuff kind of fits, but everything I’ve found in that size has not really been in my taste. I’ve been tempted to order some Dust of Dolls Appi sized clothing, but I think this body’s hips are like .5 cm to 1 cm larger. It’s hard to tell because both bodies I own keep snapping into a sitting position when I try to measure them. I love the shape on this body and would hate to hide it under baggy Blythe dresses, so I guess I might need to learn to sew or something. Really want some cute pants or leggings to show off their cute legs! >_<

I’m by no means an expert, but I’ve thrown together some quick measurements for those of you also in search of outfits. Right now, the only “pants” either of my girls have to wear is a pair of MDD/SDC sized panties from Volks. They are stretchy enough to work because of the elastic, but pretty much that’s the only reason they fit (other MDD sized stuff is too big in the waist though, I've only found the panties to fit).

Lipstick is off getting a faceup right now; I’ll try to post pictures when she returns home. I'll update again if/when I've got new clothing finds.

@avianAnnihilator no problem! There is a serious lack of information on these girls. I was checking measurements the other day and realized there wasn’t any info online. Hope this helps people plan for their girls, since Aoandon was very popular. Not sure how her horns will affect wig wearing, but I’ll be sure to report back when I get mine, since I have one on order too!

My Aoandon arrived!!! Ahhh I'm screaming he's so gorgeous And those extras are super nice!! This is legit the nicest doll box I've ever received, everything was wrapped in really nice cloth and it all seems to have been done with such love and care ;v; No doubt SIO2 is one of my favourite companies now more than ever!

Congratulations!! I just got mine today too! I can't believe how fast that was @___@ She's gonna sit around without clothes or a faceup for a while most likely because I didn't plan on shopping for her for another month bc I assumed she was coming in february lol......She's lovely though and the packaging was just gorgeous! Sio2 has real charm and magic in everything they do (✯◡✯) The little resin garage kit style figure was the most pleasantly surprising part! I got a different one than you did @avianAnnihilator :O I wonder how many of them there are...

 

@dollmien Yay congrats as well! I managed to scramble some clothes together for my boy but he'll remain blank for a while too, because it's too cold to spray MSC right now :'>

@avianAnnihilator haha same here :,) It's snowing right now unfortunately. My figure was a little bunny girl! She's super cute! I'm a little intimidated at the thought of painting her but I think it'll be fun Totally stole your idea of using the fabric as a background for pictures because my desk is a nightmare right now ^^;

@dollmien Ahh she's so cute!! Now I need to stalk some more box openings to see if there were others >o> I'd love to collect them all but that would mean buying a LOT of dolls and trying to get lucky :'D (Not that I'm opposed to buying lots of SIO2 dolls... but my wallet is!)
Do you have any plans for your Aoandon yet? I don't really for mine, like most of my dolls at the moment, but I do want to do some character + faceup sketches for them at some point (that will hopefully be better than the quick doodle I did a while back) to figure them all out! Or just wing-it when the time comes :'D

My Aoandon arrived! I got the cute bunny girl kit!

Now to figure out wig making...this girl will definitely need a custom with her horns. Thinking of turning mine into a pastel sheep girl (we'll see if she let's that happen or turns into something else completely).

 

I just opened mine! What an INCREDIBLE package. I’m really really really impressed! I received the bunny girl-which I may trade for a kitty girl if I can find one, but holy cow what a fantastic doll. I’m so so happy! Definitely going to a little tough to clothe but it’ll be figured out!

 

@Alsatian Congrats! Ah I know, right? The box was packaged so beautifully Also psst, I'd be interested in the bunny (I received a kitty myself)! :> I haven't seen anyone else get a kitty yet though, so I'm not sure how many of them there actually are. I do vaguely remember seeing a kitty someone had painted before, but I'm not sure what order it came with? (Though honestly I'd just love to have them both haha!)

@avianAnnihilator I got a kitty with my Funan order and I think the other kitty owners got it mostly with their Sio2 deer order as I well as I saw it at Flickr/FB/weibo.

 

@Saiyaku Yeah, I went and had a look around and it did seem like that! I wonder if some of the left-over kitties were sent with Aoandons and the rest were the bunnies? :0 I've mostly seen bunnies with the recent box openings! But maybe that's just a coincidence? ^^ Either way, they're both adorable and a really nice little surprise to get in the box!

 

I received mine as well! This is exciting! I can't wait to see what all of you do with your dolls!
Did any of you have problems with the resin hair not staying together? I was trying to find out if this was a common issue before or not.

 

@gator90 Congrats! Mine doesn't stay together if it's off the doll's head, but as soon as it's on it fits together fine and stays on without much trouble. Sometimes you need to fiddle with it to make sure it's aligned properly and stuff. You could maybe boil it and bend it into place if it really doesn't fit?

 

@gator90 Mine doesn’t stay together either. I think I either need to boil the front piece, or at least heat it up with a hairdryer to get it to snap together correctly. I know it will be a quick fix, but I’m a little nervous to fiddle with it since the front piece is so delicate.

 

@gator90 I'm having the same problem, the little tab and the slot are just slightly different enough to not stay interlocked ! I think what I am going to do is install magnets in the pieces instead of trying to boil anything? For the time being, silicone eye putty has been able to hold it together for quick pictures and whatnot.

 

Absolutely lovely!!!!! I'm so sad to have missed out on Aoandon... but so excited to see everyone's once they arrive! I hope there will be more cuties released this year with horns or animal features.

 

Has anyone tried standard yosd bottoms/socks/shoes on these bodies? How do they fit? I'm trying to shop for clothes right now and I have like no idea what I'm doing at all LOL

 

@dollmien I've got standard yosd shoes on mine and they fit perfectly! Other than that, I don't have many yosd clothes to try. I have some bloomers? They're very stretchy at the waist and of course being bloomers they've got quite a lot of space in them, so they do fit, but they're not as puffy as you'd expect them to be on a normal yosd.

 

found this on Sio2's twitter. There are also two auctions for Ragdoll and Burmilla fullsets on yahoo JP right now! I'm personally going to wait until an astonished ragdoll is up for auction - auction dolls tend to be released around advent holidays. :'3 If there is an auction Ragdoll, I wonder which holiday it'll be? The Valentines outfits are so nice. Maybe Christmas? That's a good amount of time to save up.
It's difficult to find Astonished Ragdoll on the secondhand market. I think they're really only on Weibo or Taobao, which are mostly in Chinese, so it's hard to navigate. :'3

 

Yea I posted the link to the auctions. I feel like people in Japan are crazy over Sio2 dolls. Ragdoll/Lipstick/Burmilla are usually sold $500-900 there and I've seen Bleater sold for $400 multiple times. It makes me wonder if they don't know the artist has her own website where they can order from. Even clothes for Bleater was bid and sold for $100-200.

As for this doll it really reminds me of Bird's Mystery dolls which looks similar. I'm unsure if their dolls are on topic so I won't post it.

EDIT: the ones that were up for auction were sold. Ragdoll was bid and sold for $1,145 usd while Burmilla was bid and sold for $852

 

Sheesh, that's more than I would've hoped.
Anyways, there's two more dolls that'll be sold, soon. White Dew and Yako...
I can't really see Yako's head shape too well, but it seems somewhat like a more open-eyed Lipstick with more teeth. The eyes are slanted, at least. I love the little mouth expression...

 

I messaged the artist and she confirmed that Yako is the twin brother to LipStick and that their face plate is the same. His hair is the only difference between the two and he will be offered the ragdoll body and not just human body.

 

I'm so happy, I managed to find Aoandon on ragdoll's body on the second hand market ;A;

BRO! That's so nice! Man, I wanted Aoandon on a ragdoll body too, but it didn't seem likely. It's nice that they're around. Super nice. Have fun with them!

Also, sio2doll has split up. The designer that I follow (and that I assumed was the original Sio2 artist )is now part of Wood Habitat. I don't really know much about this, but do we need a new thread, now?

Thanks ! It came as a surprise when the seller told me "which body do you want ?" XD I had convoluted plans on buying both an aoandon and a ragdoll and use only one body... So this came as a life-saver

Yea I'm not sure but there's been a split. On another note the bunny doll is now on pre-order on Wood Habitat's IG Habitat Wood on Instagram: “#bjd #bjdsale #doll” though not sure if i should make another thread for Wood Habitat? O.o

 

Have any of the other Aoandon owner's out there tried wigs other than the resin ones? I want to use some of the luts TDF wigs on mine but the horns get in the way

 

This is from Sio2's website. They have an etsy now, and their support email seems to have changed.
Their instagram seems to be unaffected.

 

For anyone worried about their orders, I was able to contact Sio2 through etsy (which they recommended to customers on their Instagram) about confirming my Talou order and they were very quick to respond.

 

The artists splitting is really sad. I like both of them as artists, but the whole situation is really confusing.

I see Wood Habitat is going to be selling his new doll with what looks like the ragdoll body. I wonder if they’ve both agreed on this or he’s choosing to sell regardless?

At least I’m glad SIO2 has an Etsy now! I think it will make purchasing easier (easier but more dangerous for my wallet haha).

 

I'm going to throw a while guess here, but I think that the Wood Habitat artists is the one that did the small dolls and Sio2 did the SD. The style difference is so big, that it would make sense that they're different artists, but if Sio2 is selling the new boy, then this throw that guess out of the window (unless they settled on an agreement or something beforehand)

 

I know it was mentioned somewhere that the artist from Wood Habitat was the artist who designed Aoandon. I don’t know what other things he’s done for SIO2 in addition?

Ziqian is the founding artist for SIO2, and though the styles between their SD dolls and tinies are different, I don’t think it’s as cut and dry as one artist did one thing and the other artist did another. They may have worked on both together. I had always assumed she was the main designer behind Ragdoll, but I could be wrong.

 

I'm not entirely sure who did what. Aoandon was inspired by a Japanese Demon Documentory called 百鬼夜行. I can't find where I read it but I remember the artist mentioning that their boyfriend or a male friend [Wood Habitat(?)] suggested of making a demon 1/6 doll. Also on Wood Habitat's Twitter it says they they are still open for GK; aka Garage Kits. I know they design some of their own Garage Kits for anime/manga/games that they feel like. So maybe Wood Habitat was the one who makes it in a 3D program? I'm not completely sure since on Wood Habitat's twitter there's also an image of him working on a 1/3 head...



On another note, taking a closer look at Chodol / bunny 1/6 doll it looks like the body is actually a ragdoll body since the feet are the same. Only the hands are "bunny" hands. I might place an order to switch the body with my LipStick or Aoandon.

I just hope this rift between the two will get sorted. At first I just thought WH wanted to become independent but now it seems there was something more to this whole thing since I'm assume that's why one party went out of their way to changed the passwords though it's not 100% confirmed if WH was actually the one who did it since I don't know the exact number of people who was in the SIO2 company as a whole... I hope this whole thing will be sorted out soon!

 

I recently fall in love with some Dolls of Sio2 (hard to find 2nd hand ^^
Especially i like the Ragdoll with Cat Ears.
The Wood Habitat Bunny is also lovely - can't wait for what in the future releases will be.
Hope that i have a chance for my second Doll to be an Sio2/Wood Habitat One.

I just find it weird that while she's hospitalized Wood Habitat and Yeko are holding these pre-orders since it's still unclear as to who owns the.. um.. rights? to the 1/6 dolls. Hopefully Sio2 herself knows and gave them permission.

I'm not sure about the whole situation - but i think for hands wood habitat made for herself aren't any issue? For Example also some other company doing additional parts like soft busts for several BJDs. So i think it's okay unless it's her work and not work of sio2.
I hope someday they will post a statement - i find it very confusing.

 

Sio2's blog: Sina Visitor System I think the social media blog has changed it's settings. Before anyone can view but now you must have an account so I'm not sure if you can see it.

I'm not sure as to who owns what since it's never explicitly mentioned. Since if someone was to sell work that isn't theirs, we the collectors would have no idea unless we're told directly. That's a bit difficult when, apparently, Sio2 is locked out of her social media accounts...

On another note, my Aoandon order finally arrived and wow I was so happy to see all these gifts they included: Fox mask, drum, stand and a pair of Codol bunny hands

There appeared a new Banner on their Website?didn't saw it last week and seems to appear not on every site in the website. If i get it right it will start in 6 days? (only suggested the numbers should be an date?)
