Proportions- Simply Divine Thomas head on Granado Nuevo body- great fit! Neck fits perfectly. [/IMG] Proportions- Simply Divine Thomas head on Old Soom Supergem body. A bit bobbleheaded but not more so than many BJDs. Workable. I tried him on a Dikadoll 68cm body I love but his head was too big for it. Gratuitous pic of Amadi, a Harlequin on a Dollstown 18, the often-preferred body for that sculpt. It's 72cm at least, and HEAVY. But gorgeous.
Hi, I know this is a long shot, but does anyone happen to own a Thomas head and the Doll Family-H 68cm Boy Body Ver. 1 that could try this combo out? Looking at measurements, I think it would work okay, but I'm also the absolute worst at visualizing things in my head. Any help would be appreciated!
Me three! I'm hoping to get the RGM body-4 for Thomas but I'd really like to see how the proportions look first!
I have a thomas head I am putting on a ringdoll body, if I Can remember to snap pictures I can share them here sometime- got a lot going on.
I'm reviving this thread with a new hybrid option for Simply Divine heads: Doll Family-A 65cm boy body I got a Richard head recently and I intend to put him onto the DFA 65cm boy body. As I already have one at home, I was able to test the hybrid, and I am pleased to report the fit, mobility, and proportions are excellent! Please ignore the color mismatch, the body I have at home is light tan. The body has broad shoulders at 15.4cm, which is key with Simply Divine heads. I don't have a good color comparison as I ordered the head in Venetian Luna White to colormatch to DFA normal pink with the faceup. Let me give some pictures of the Richard on the DFA body Straight on view: Zoomed out view (I don't have a full body view as this one has Soom Chrom paws from the knees down) Looking down Looking up Tilted to either side Hand size compared to the head Now for some side view images: Looking straight forward Looking down Looking up I can actually force the head further up and down, but then the neck looks dislocated. Other than that, the range of motion is wonderful, and so is the fit. I also have a Thomas at home, so if anyone wants to see that head on the DFA body just let me know!
Hello all! I have a question if someone can help. A newer doll collector is asking if anyone has experience with Doll Family H company as far as resin matching to Simply Divine resin colors, and also size proportions if possible. I guess quality and any info on the company would be helpful too! Thank you so much ~ Liz.
@stinesculpture I currently have two DF-H 68cm bodies (and hope to purchase a Thomas head sometime this summer). I'd be happy to do comparison photos once I've all in hand, but I can definitely speak to DF-H making quality and poseable bodies. The 2.0 68cm body is one of my definite favorites out of bodies I own. I believe DF-H offer resin matching, however I may be outdated on this. Companies sometimes offer it for a while and then stop, which I'm always very sad about upon discovering it.
Sorry to revive an old thread, but I've just recently purchased Tatsuo and Alec heads from simply divine and was wondering about what more modern bodies would work with them? I usually only collect really big boys like Soom Idealians and EID Iplehouses but it seems like they're not going to work this time, lol. I can't wait to recieve them and get to work on them. Does anyone have any other references for bodies like ringdoll - 03 or granado adagio? I have the Granado nuevo so its nice to know that will work, I was just looking for something a little bigger in the 70cm or up range. The Dollstown 18 body is just too skinny and lanky for the character I want to portray. I'm looking for more muscular bodies that could work with these heads. Also if anyone has the neck size for these heads I'd be very grateful! From what I've read they seem to fit 11.5 cm necks? I can look for more bodies if I had that information I think. Thanks so much for anyones help! I love hybrid dolls but sometimes it can be a challenge getting everything you want
I upgraded my Simply Divine Thomas to a Doll Family-A 70cm body, which has supposedly a 11,2cm neck. Proportionally the head looks great on the body, but the neck hole isn’t quite big enough. Honestly the best neck circumference for the heads I have (Thomas and Richard) are 10cm necked bodies. If you want I can take some pics of my Thomas nude on the dfa 70cm body, I also got a TD V1 72cm body at home if you’d like me to try him or my Richard on that one as well.
Thank you so much @IzabethS ! I'd love pictures of the TD body if you could! And thanks for the neck hole info, it looks like I'll have to start looking at smaller sizes
DFA 70CM vs TD Doll V1 72CM DFA 70CM vs TD Doll V1 72CM Here you go! My thoughts: The TD Doll V1 72cm body had a shorter and slimmer torso than the DFA, but longer legs The s-hook on the TD Doll body was too big so I had to remove it, put on the head, and then return the hook to the elastic Both bodies are good options Now to fight the two boys back into their outfits
Thank you @lzabethS! I'm actually leaning more towards the doll family A now that I've seen them. These are super helpful comparisons ^.^
No problem! I'm also a huge fan of the DFA boat for my Thomas head. Fair warning, the knees sometimes want to buckle, but otherwise the body poses nicely and is solid
