Are these dolls limited? I only found out about them on Monday and now the one I want is no longer listed on Etsy and the one in my cart is marked "unavailable."

 

The Etsy site for Simply Divine is working for me now so maybe just need to try again. Which sculpt were you trying to order? The shop might have closed briefly if they were taking a break since it is run by only two people, I think. They are not limited.

 

The Etsy shop stayed up the whole time but the Richard head is now gone for me...

 

Hmm, you're right. Maybe you could email them and ask about him. They might be willing to cast one for you.

 

They rotate the heads through occasionally. But yes, just send them a conversation asking if they could post Richard up for you to buy. I'm sure they won't mind!

I just purchased a gorgeous Harlequin head off of Marketplace! The previous owner mentioned that Dollstown 18yr old body was a great match and that they had heard AkagiDoll 70 cm body worked. Are you there any photos of a Harlequin head on the Akigidoll body ? The head is Luna Sunrise resin .

On the Simply Divine site it says the Luna Sunrise resin matches Volks NS. Any photos of a Harlequin head on a Volks body? Sorry for all the questions. I typically just have MSD dolls but when I saw this head I purchased it AND THEN started research for the body, lol. This is the head I was lucky enough to snag! belovedA said he was on Dollstown 18 oriental skin. Since the body will be such a costly decision I just want to try and make the right one . Thanks for you patience

I am considering the Dollstown 18 body in Fresh Skin, or the AkagiDoll 70 cm...I love the look of the Akagi body but the idea of having to mod the neck is scary. I have never had to do that to a doll before.

 

Well... here is one possible new option: A ResinSoul Yi. Not as elegant as the others you're considering but verrrrrry cost-effective-

ooo that is lovely..I have looked at all the posts now but I must admit that since there are different size heads with the different bodies that It has gotten confusing lol.. belovedA said that she had the head on Dollstown Oriental but Im sure she had it blushed to match since the head is Luna Sunrise. I will have to see if ResinSoul has any resin shade to get close to the Sunrise

Here is one more pic... My Harle head has a permanent home on a Sugarable Genie body (their Ludwig used the same body but doesn't have magnetic hands or feet)- it's a body that is 70cm tall and beefier than most. I think Harle is FABulous on the Sugarable body but trying to find one is near impossible and buying one isn't cheap. (Except in my case where the body was a gift from my awesome friend!) The Akagi body is gorgeous with this head and the least expensive option -I think- between it and the Dollstown body, both of which look AMAZING with this head as its crowning glory!

The Yi body is just a bit over $200 USD. They WILL color match though there may be a fee. The color of the resin body I have here is their normal. Now the reason I am really showing you this is because the Sugarable body is actually Blinding White. My Harle head was a discontinued Luna Bone, I believe, so a palish flesh color. I had to blush the entire body to match the head. (I still have some bronze to add to the body to really make it match.) My POINT in all this is you can get the faboo head and make the body match it if it's not perfect. The head you're getting looks a bit peachier than the Yi body's normal but that's an easy fix. Certainly easier than shelling out an additional $200-300 on a body when finances are tight. it all depends on the aesthetic you want. The Yi is serviceable and poses nicely (better than the Sugarable!) and with hot glue sueding it really holds some great poses! (I have proof if you'd like to see.)

OK, enough of my blather! You have some hard choices to make, but at least that gorrrrgeous head is done and soon to be home! That's the gem in the crown and that part is complete. YAY!!

chalyss thank you so much for the info..and I love the pictures of your guy...he is stunning! Both bodies you have had him on are on my list now! aernath I love the Impl bodies but the neck would need modding, correct? Thats the biggest thing Im trying to avoid just because I have never done it before...I dont want to totally ruin the neck somehow

 

I...actually have no idea. I was just thinking resin matching and easy payments.
I have never gotten up the gumption to do a neck mod either! lol

 

*LOLOL* I can't vouch for the Idol neck, but Impldoll does have excellent color matching and layaway! So does Resinsoul. Just depends on what look you want and the Idol body is... $330, I believe? Neck mods aren't too hard if you're subtracting, I just wonder about the BIGness of an Idol- it's Idealian sized. I have an old Starman body but while the neck would work, that body is too scrawny/small/willowy for the Harle head. The New Starman body would need a neck mod and it's SID sized. I have a SID body here I can plop the Harle head on so you can see how much it would need to be sanded and if it even looked right. Harle is picky- he needs a certain balance to look right, IMO. I can also check his noggin size against a Miro doll 68cm boy, see if that works. It doesn't work on their 60cm body but maybe the 68cm.... and that would be rock-bottom cheapest body you could get. I think it's like $150 right now?

I can take pics of what I have if you're curious.

@fishcake, you currently have an Idol body with Plaice/Kip and you had a Harle head... what do you think? Would it look OK?

 

Uhhh..I dunno! I bought a lot of bodies thinking he'd look good on them and he was always "nope". The only body he looked right on to me was a Mecha Angel body, but then someone else stole it

seems so! haha. I know that I want him to be at least 70cm...seems like from most of the photos and posts that I have seen that he needs that to look properly proportioned. That and the wide shoulders...Once the lovely noggin gets here then I will maybe have a better reference. Cant wait to see him! And just the week before I was able to get a beautiful Souldoll Hye head that I thought could be a girlfriend but not sure now since there will be such a difference in size.

 

@Zenna They could be a really cute couple--tiny girl and tall guy! I liked the Mecha Angel because it was pretty cheap (it was a used MP one) and fairly light for it's size, and the neck/ head looked great together. I had him on a Granado Nuevo (too short), and Impldoll Star (neck too short), SID for 10 seconds..neck does not fit at all, Soom Super Gem old body..not bad, a little bobble headed--(he might look nice on the new, larger body)-- and an Angelhiem Zion body that weighed, I swear, nine pounds and had freaky knees. Also 2 different Dollzones (good proportion, terrible resin match).

So far the good bodies I have seen are the Dollstown 18 yrs, the Mecha Angel, an the ones Chalyss found, and the girl version on the Fairyland 65. But he's sooo pretty

 

I'm going to second the girl version on the F65 body, but then I love busty girls with fierce faces


Fun side note, I took that sweater Athénaïs is wearing with me to Stitches West (BFD yarn convention) and the booth attendant at the Buffalo Yarn Co was so impressed by it that I got a hefty discount on some unbelievable 100% bison down yarn So my Harlequin is totally getting a sweater from that yarn that cost as much as she does (after the discount but it is glorious)

Soom Mecha Angel is on my list too...wasnt sure about the shoulders since they are smaller than the Dollstown and Resinsoul. I know any body will have to be blushed to match but I am hoping to get a close-ish resin match as well

 

So, I've a Tetsuo head (keep wanting to call it Ji Sung, for reasons...) in Venetian Luna Magnolia... Has anyone matched that resin? I'm wanting a Spiritdoll Proud body for him.

@Zenna, he needs at the verrrrry least, 15cm shoulders. The Yi body has 15.5 or so; I'll have to remeasure. But too big doesn't look right either. *L* The thing is the shoulder and body width he needs usually comes with a thicker-necked body, so neck mods open a whole new level of what will work, but there some good choices that don't need mods. I'll do a head/body run soon here, male and female bodies, with the Harle head. And I don't blame you-- I like resin matches too!

 

I think Im gonna take a plunge.....Alice collections has the AkagiDoll doll in NS on sale...from all the scouring I have done Venetian Luna Sunrise is close to Volks-Ipplehouse-DIM resin which is close to the NS of the AkagiDoll..Im not at home so I dont have the bookmark but there was somone here on DoA that did a WONDERFUL resin comparison of a like 20 some resins using headcaps and hands...and as best I could tell that was the result

I stumbled across belovedA's Flickr and saw more pics of him and even when she first got him so was fun..I am asking Alices Collections ( if this is a pre order) If I can request neck modifications...oh and for anyone ELSE scouring around for the right match for any Simply Divine lovely, Angell Studio has resin matching and neck modifications. The shoulders are not as wide but a good size . Their heads are French resin but their bodies are not .

 

Now that is interesting! I like Angell Studio, just haven't bought from them recently (in the last few years). Do they charge a fee for their color matching, do you know? I believe I heard Impl and Miro will both do neck mods if you request it, I just always forget about it. Awesome to know, thank you!!!

 

Angell Studio does charge ( I think up to $65) to match resin. AND I emailed Alice Collections and the Akagidoll is a pre order. They checked with the company and they ARE going to modify the neck!! Not sure the price yet for that but Its worth it especially for the sale price . And I plan on having Meenist do some tattoos for him **squeee**

 

Tried to understand how will Thomas head match new Soom Supergem male body. Color matching is terrible, but I like his proportions)

That's gonna be gorgeous! I don't know about Thomas, but be aware that Harlequin requires a very big body to fit the size of his head and he can be kind of tricky to complete that way.

Harle fits well on the ResinSoul Yi (71cm) body. This head is not blushed to match, this is just for show, but it's a good fit and the shoulders work well. There are more pics if you wanna browse that album. It's about $220 USD for the body. Harle's noggin is a big one! I think Thomas is a bit smaller- there's a comp pic of head sizes on the etsy site or the stine sculpture main site I believe. Thomas may not work as well or it could look even better on the Yi body.

 

I've seen Thomas on a new Soom Supergem body (haha I scrolled up and there he was!) and he looks fantastic. Harlequin is still my favorite but he was just..so..big.

 

My Valentina head arrived yesterday, she seems to be a good fit on my Twigling body.

I have a Dollshe boy in fresh skin, & it's not a very close match to my boy Of course I did get my doll 2nd hand so it could be older resin or yellowing (it's uniform if that's it)
