[MENTION=48261]gr8story[/MENTION] I had Safrins in my Harlequin (Safrin Doll eyes), they are around 10.00 and photograph well. The resinsoul Long body is a good height for him but you need to pad out the shoulders a bit to balance his head.

 

I made a new outfit for Tatsuo this weekend and he seems to like it. Going to need to change his name to something Mongolian though.

Edit: Going to try out the name Nergui which means "No Name" and was appearantly given to a child when his or her parents had previously lost a child, to confuse the evil spirits into leaving the child unharmed.

 

Totally forgot about Safrin Doll eyes! I think I may just hold out until they have them back in stock and browse them a bit. Thank you!
I also think I'm going to go with the newer RS 72cm body for my Harlequin. I just sent RS an email asking about buying it separately, so hopefully I can save up enough to get it before the year is out.

It's so hard not to take pictures of this guy, even if he doesn't have a faceup or eyes (but he did get his wig yesterday!)! I'm going to have so much fun contouring his face when I can finally get to his faceup. u v u

 

just want to say "hi" - glad to see this thread (and so many familiar folks ). the medusa and guardian lion-looking heads are awesome! I recently got a Jesse head from the MP (a chance find from clicking on the seller's other sales - something about the sculpt I couldn't resist). in the process of painting her (the head works best with the twigling body I have) and very cool to see other female dolls too!

Has anyone ordered any of the simply divine heads in the skin color Magnolia? I see a lot of people doing the Venetian Luna White x Dollstown paleskin combo but I was wondering how Magnolia worked out with the DT fresh skin u.u

Since DT is cast by Dollshe, Magnolia should be a match (link) I can't really be more helpful because I have a slight addition to white/pale resin. I have some serious plans for a Valentina in Bone (I have everything for her but the head) but that's not much help for what you're looking for.
If Twigling went back to having her dolls cast by Dollshe that would be a whole other story!

I had no idea DT was being cast by Dollshe :O if that's that case the resin match shouldn't be far off... is your Athénaïs in Luna white resin? If so, does it have more of a yellow undertone or bluish grey one? I like the idea of white skin but I'm scared he will end up looking grey T_T

 

Yep, VL White, and it's a Mighty White, no yellow undertones at all. It's very close to ResinSoul's (Mighty) White and Dollshe Paleskin, if that's any help. The undertones definitely seem to have a bluish-gray cast, but nothing a good faceup can't balance out.

 

Thanks a lot for all the info~ ^3^ & I was browsing the Simply Divine website along with flickr and I have to agree with you for the greyish undertone - it's practically unnoticeable under a good faceup I feel more confident now

 

I forgot to join this thread....I got my Tatsuo head weeks ago but tossed him right into the head box since I wasn't in the position to look at bodies for him....but I figure he's got to have one eventually! I haven't seen to many pictures of him on bodies (maybe three?) - so any body suggestions would be great! I am only barely getting back into 70cm dolls....so I don't really know any companies other then Dollmore and Dollshe (which is what I have).

 

My Tatsuo is on a Dollshe 35S body.

Man, I need to get my act together and take photos of my SD heads. Their all either sharing bodies or looking for one to share.

 

@Therealwalter Very nice! Yours is one of the two-maybe-three I've seen, but I always appreciate good pics! That is the DS body that's bigger then the old\Pure isn't it? Or am I insane?

@aernath ugh I hear you. I have so many heads sharing bodies....my head box is so full of displaced heads right now. So what do I do? order more. >.<

 

DS 35S and 32S are slightly bigger than the Pure body but not noticeably so. The multi segmented body is flexible but the buttock joints have a funny way of dislocating themselves. Pure body is a better poser for me.
If you like a muscular body, Dollstown 18yo is a great looking one and color matches .

 

There are a few companies with 70cm bodies that also might work but that I haven't seen used. I wonder if their resin might match one of the Simply Divine tones, or if neck sizes would work, but they are a good height and shoulder width to probably look great with SDivine heads.

Oh my Thomas has been on the DZ72 and the newer 70cm Dollzone body, and my Alec lives on a Dollzone 65. I'll try and dig up the old Flickr pictures tomorrow if anyone's interested in the proportions!

Tanit is absolutely lovely earth.spirits, actually I admire most of your guys. They're always so perfectly put together - they each carry off their individual styles so well

Well, still not settled on a body yet, and no clothes, and just barely got a name (Rock - say it with a growl!), but I decided it's high time I got some photos of my Toto head with fantastic paint by Jisatsu!

He really needs some outdoor daylight photos to show off the paint better... but if I didn't take these nighttime photos, I would just keep forgetting or putting it off, until spring! lol

Aernath, I really like your Toto! I finally got my Jesse together. Tried him on a Dollshe Pure body and decided he needed broader shoulders; he wound up on an old Dream Realm body that I had stashed away. I like this picture the best, but he's wearing a longer blond mohair wig now. Maybe I'll switch him back. . .

He is in the new Luna Magnolia resin tone, which is sort of a flat gray. It underblushes very nicely to go with most normal skin bodies tho. It's supposed to match Dollshe freshskin but it's really too dark.

Maybe a tiny bit better in the blonde, but darn, that's a close race!!! He looks fab either way!

And here's Nicholas, my Harlequin - his face-up and other painted aesthetics are by me (earth.spirits). He's on a NS 65cm Switch body, and his head color is a custom one that Liz specifically cast for me to go with this body. His custom wig is by Spite & Malice. So glad to once again have a Harlequin in my crew!

Earth.Spirits, he is stunning!! I love mine and secretly want another to make it a girl. Maybe one day. But he's gorgeous!

 

I received my Venetian Luna White Harlequin (named Ogden) a couple of days ago and he's astonishingly well sculpted (and so heavy!) He's only the second BJD or BJD part I've ever handled or even seen in person besides my old CP Delf and he easily weighs as much as that dude's entire thigh.

No telling how long it will be before he's faceupp'd or no longer bodiless as I really want that incredibly spendy but Michelangelo-esque Dollstown 18 body for him, but I might get impatient and fix him up before then, still in the sketching/planning phase. Seeing everyone else's interpretations of him is really exciting!

The artist is also very friendly and answered my goofy questions about glue and magnets, and the packaging was very thoughtful. He was a gift, but even if he hadn't been it would still be like opening a gift because of how cool the presentation was. Turnaround was also really quick. Great experience all around. I can't wait to get started on him! Come on, clear day! (Never thought I'd say that.)

I recently ordered a pair of eyes from Masterpiece for my harlequin. Disappointingly enough they are a way darker blue than the website suggested, but their 13mm does make a great fit.

 

Holy WOW!! MeeeeeeOW! He definitely has the smolder down!

 

I think that blue is just about right! Looks good! Though I can see that lighter blue would be more intense. ^_^
But he can almost kill with that stare already!

Wow, your guy is beautiful. I like how his eyes are angled, and that wig is dreamy. His lip color really suits him as well, it goes nicely with his eye makeup.

I recently ordered some Masterpiece eyes for another doll and now I'm really hoping the color is accurate. Yours look great, though.

Good to know about their 13mm as well, I'm looking for blind/dead eyes which are hard to find in silicone. I tried some glass 14mm eyes from Blue Blood in my Harlequin, and they fit perfectly in the wells, but the iris is much too large. That was my only complaint about this guy, I feel like it might be hard to find eyes that are the style I want and also fit. Not that the search won't be worth it...

 

thanks guys! he does have the smoulder down, too bad he's growing bald~ haha. I hope to be making a new wig for him some time soon, this one is ancient (and kid delf size, don't even ask me why it fits???).

@Lighthouse Asylum I have put glass eyes in him for a while that were 10mm. I felt their iris size is perfect for this head, but of course they gap like hell. I'm trying to find a glass eye maker that will take custom sizes for their product (ie: 14mm eye base + 10mm iris).

 

It's just a thin patch! *LOL* Maybe he got in a cat fight..? He is just yum!

Sounds like a GREAT dream!! Jesse and Harle look similar... maybe you indeed need Jesse instead of his big brother.

chalyss oh dream was great and this guy was super great, but I was shocked. I have tought about Harle for about 3 years - My friend has one of them and I fell in love for the first sight
and then - I was looking on SD etsy page and saw Jesse, I even told myself that he's cute but dtill - his not my Harlequinn and this dream had happened O.o
I event know what wig and eyes he should have =D

Question for those who have ordered: about how long did it take to get your head?
I'm trying to figure out staggering faceups for my soon to be sudden influx of blank dolls and my Valentina is going to be needing full body work (she's going to be a very freckly redhead)

 

When I ordered Jesse last spring, I received the head a month later.

OK, SiDi head fans... I have a new possibility. I finally got my ResinSoul Yi body today and BOOM, on went Harlequin! Keep in mind the Yi body is about $212 USD- a very viable option for a hybrid!

Please feel free to look through the pics- there are a few. The neck fits very well, no gapping and superb mobility. I imagine Thomas would look great too, possibly Jesse.

 

Maybe this has already been answered back in this thread, but does anyone know if Harlequin's head would work on an iplehouse EID woman body? How about resin matching? I like all of Simply Divine's skin tones so whichever one is closest to any iplehouse color would be okay with me.
I love this head as a strong female character and I need a mature, strong body for her. Does anyone else have any other suggestions for a compatible, proportionate body?

 

I have my Harlequin on Fairyland's F65 body and I really like how she looks

The head also fits pretty well on Twigling's bodies, but I don't have any pictures on hand of that

I adore Twigling bodies actually, they're one of my favorites. If you ever get any photos I'd love to see them. Do you happen to know anything about the resin match between the two?

 

Both of my Twigling bodies are from when she was still having her dolls cast by DollShe, which is perfect for SD heads because I think the resin colors are modeled after DollShe colors. But Twigling changed casting companies so I'm not sure how any of those colors compare to what SD offers.

The only Twigling I have is the small Stargazer body, which would not work. That big one might though. This head looks bobble headed on the 70cm Miro girl body but MIGHT work on an Impldoll Idol. Might. Oh and B&G doll makes a 67cm girl with a 12cm neck and 14.5cm shoulders. You may look into that one:

I just know it'll be a pain to get a hold of a white one that hadn't yellowed too bad yet. I just wanted to know of other possible options too. Thank you a ton ♡

 

You're welcome! I think an Idealian girl body would be a good match. I would love to one day make a girl Harle but I am very picky about bodies working for heads and vice versa. Maybe this combo would work better with a bit of sanding on the Harle head around the jowls/cheeks especially but I'd LOVE to see this head on an Idealian female body! If you ever manage it, please share pics!

Sarqq on deviantart has that hybrid and she's insanely attractive. (Like please what a gorgeous doll.) It's a great combo. They sanded the jaw but damn that's a good looking doll.
I think they also added something inside the opening of the head to elongate the neck too.

Ah yes, Sarqq and her crew! Dangerous, dangerous piccies those... they make me want and are enabling. For some reason I never noticed that was an idealian body! I do see her Harle head is modded, but YES, she is bad ass and gorgeous! (as are all Sarqq's girls. AND boys. Dangerous piccies, I tell ya!!)

Yes, get an Idealian body. *nodnod* And a donut in the head would elongate well I think.

I know I was looking up to see if anyone had used that head as a girl and was stunned to see hers.
I love the sculpture of the idealian body so I think that's what I'm gonna go for. It'll be a bit of a tedious project but totally worth it.
And yeah, a donut would work perfectly! I forgot those even existed.
