Have been watching the dolls since they first premiered.
Ordered the blank Spirit using the $65. She just arrived today!
Beautiful black and blue box and she is nestled in a black pillow
with ribbon ties. Reminds me a little of the Popovy and Enchanted
resin dolls. Just need to decide how to finish her. The website has a
a couple of images of customs for inspiration.

It sort of reminds me of Skeletor's Havoc Staff, but it's just super cool. I don't know if the 1/4 size will look too short next to my Muse of Bone at 30cm, tempted to buy the 1/3 . Heck, it might not even be her staff, maybe that's the staff used to summon her

 

I had thought about putting that in my cart for her! Decided against it though. I might get the headdress for another doll though!!

 

I have decided shoes for Atropos is the worst thing to try to shop for. I decided to try 3d printed shoe bases I found on shapeways. Hopefully they fit well and I can make the uppers without too much trouble!

(and yes, she is standing unassisted! So proud! So much anxiety!) I bought this dress from mmilena here on DOA - its sized for Popovy and fits perfectly. The arms are just right, the length is just right. So, now I know what size clothes to look for!

 

Just put in an order for all three. I have never been this much in need for specific bjds in my life

I'm wondering what happened with these girls. It's been about two and a half years, and the limited fullsets are still available. (I keep telling myself that I need Flesh, but I get sidetracked by more pressing financial issues...) Maybe the majority of BJD collectors have never heard of them, and the usual Sideshow collectors don't really 'get' BJDs? It's a pity, because these sculpts are amazing, but I have a feeling that the high hopes they had of creating an ongoing line will just fizzle out.

It fizzling out is my worry too honestly, but the court of dead series definitely seems to be a passion project for sideshow. There isn't much of a following for the game or the universe. I hope they keep making more as i am definitely in love with these ones. Even if more don't come, i am so glad these did.
I was definitely someone who didn't hear about these dolls at all until recently (literally this week), I haven't bought a bjd in about a decade and these girls won me over in minutes.

And honestly valid, I had resigned myself to just getting Flesh originally but my roommate took one look and offered to split the cost so here we are haha.

I managed to get my hands on a second hand Muse of Bone, she was still blank and came with a gorgeous dress, eyes and wig!
I enjoyed giving her her face-up, such delicate features she has! The amount of detail is incredible!
Meet my Winter

 

She looks amazing! I love how she's painted. How is her head jewlery attached - are her bone-fins pierced? And the wig - how did you attach it?

 

It's held up with magnets there's another set of jewelery on the backside that also has magnets, so it's effectively sandwiching the fins between the 2 magnets

The wig is more of a triangular shape rather than a full dome shape and it's held up with putty

(disclaimer, I didnt do those, she came with them - the dress and jewelery were made by eternaldolls)

 

Oh, good, these dolls are on-topic now! After scraping an unbelievable amount of putty out of my Muse of Bone head, I was like - wait a minute! These eyes aren't part of the head!

 

I like that they have that little eye thing you can customize but I wound up just using regular bjd eyes in mine

 

Hopefully no one minds that I'm resurrecting this thread, but does anyone have recommendations for stands for these girls?

I was gifted spirit and am looking for a stand.

I asked sideshow and they have no clue what stands they used, and my msd stands aren't tall enough but my sd stands are too big so I'm at a loss. XD

 

I don't know what kinds of stands you have, but the basic metal-base stands that are sold in craft stores like Michaels and Joannes have a waist-grasping wire that goes into a double wire upright that is adjustable in height. It fits into a vertical almost-tube -you pinch the upright and they can adjust about two or so inches up or down. Try a search for "adjustable stands".

 

I thought about those but the ones I had on hand the waist section was too wide. I'll look more into those though, thanks! I'm pretty sure that's what Sideshow used I just can't find one both tall enough and slim enough. XD maybe I should look for Hot Toy type doll stands instead of bjd o.o didn't think of that option.

 

I bought one of those super adjustable stands from Alices Collection BJD Accessories, Dolls - Alice's Collections
The part that holds the doll is very adjustable and easier to use than the basic ones from Michaels IMHO.

 

SD I'm guessing? I have the MSD one and it's too short. Her feet don't fit unless I just have her standing, which is fine for the other two but Spirit is kinda meant to float. But I feel like the SD one's waist clamp would be too big. ^^;

 

No I have the MSD Muse of Bone and the invisible stand is just fine. I will take a photo later
