Show us your OT dolls and figures

Aug 11, 2015

    1. Kurogane, sorry to hear about your condition. I suffer from migraines and fatigue all the time, but I'm an insomniac from a young age, so I kind of understand the struggle. I am vegan since before my birth (my parents were vegan before they even met each other), so dieting or strict food restrictions are not a problem for me either. I don't like candy however, I prefer dehydrated fruit/foods, but absolutely dislike chocolate (I can have vegan ones, but then I want to puke afterward, which kind of defeats the point of having candy). Back on topic, I have few Nendoroid on pre-order as well (and L who hasn't shipped), but I don't think I'll be making any more dolls out of them. I still haven't unpacked my second Sasuke to place on the Nendo doll body, although the outfits keep tempting me (I don't know that any will "work" for Sasuke's character). And I extremely regret not getting the Harmonia Bloom doll, it went on sale on AA and I didn't even see her when it happened! Now just the loose pieces are left, I think, but I wanted the whole doll to mod to a boy version of Alice in Wonderland. I have a huge soft spot for Alice in Wonderland themed dolls/toys (although I don't actually collect much because Disney is overpriced and that's pretty much what is readily available of her). DX

    2. @Enzyme I remember seeing the Harmonia Bloom dolls and they were very interesting. They sure went fast! I saw a second pre order for just the body, but without the head, not useful. Migraines are bad, I’ve never had any, but I feel for anyone who does. Only one of my pre order Nendoroid guys will get a body, the other will stay full Nendoroid.

    5. I rly wanna show off pics of this adorable little vinyl doll I bought recently who... was actually my gateway into getting back into the hobby as hard as I am!!! For a long time I avoided looking at any doll pics on insta because it'd make me really feel bad for ignoring my BJDs and this hobby... but then someone I follow posted two parabox vinyl dolls they'd customized and well... a couple days later (faaaast DHL shipping is fast) I had one in my hands and got to work!!!

She is the parabox Momo/Muffin head on 24cm obitsu body... so far I've modded the neck mechanism (it was so weak and broke as soon as I tried to put the head on so i made my own solution which works great), painted the very first faceup I've ever attempted on any kind of doll, and made this wig which was also a huge first attempt ever at doing that! (I already had a collection of wig fiber laying around for a totally non-doll-related project. It's super bad haha but I'm proud it came out even resembling a wig at all, even if it's a very messy glue wig, lol!)

Next I'm gonna work on hopefully making this wig look a little better, most likely gonna attempt a couple others just to keep practicing. I don't mind how the faceup came out but I certainly could wipe and keep practicing! I'm very bad at sewing clothes and the tinier the harder, but I'm also working on practicing making clothes AND shoes for her (in this pic she's wearing a dress I got in a big bag of random handmade doll clothes at an antique market, the shoes are dollzone shoes I got forever ago for a different doll)... all around this tiny cheap doll has been really really amazing for practicing doll crafting and doing a lot of firsts!

Needless to say I couldn't just have and work on this doll without revisiting my BJDs and well... now I have my BJDs out of storage, clothes and eyes and wigs on the way, looking into faceups for my poor still-blank girl and, though not really in a hurry to make any big BJD purchases currently, I am trawling the marketplace quite a lot :sweat so I'd say this lil gal pretty singlehandedly brought me all the way back into the hobby!

    6. @ChocolateTangerine she is adorable! Congratulations on getting black into the hobby. I think you did a fabulous job on the face up and wig. On seeing your picture, I had no idea it was your first attempt. I just saw a very cute girl!

This just happens to be the best picture I have of any given funko pops in my collection.
(Along with Ellie-in-the-jeep and Sexy Wounded Ian Malcolm, I have Alan and the regular edition Ian. I also have the Grandmaster from Thor Ragnarok and the older David Levinson, so... I still need young David to complete the Jeff collection. I've also got Goose from Captain Marvel, Heavy from TF2, Chirrut from Rogue One, and Stefon from SNL, so outside of the Jeffs and Jurassic Park, my collection's a little bit all over the place)

    12. mimimontoya, neat photos! I also have a 23cm nano Haruka that I wanted to turn into a child version of Kadaj (FFVII: AC), but I never did anything with. DX I love the sculpt though, so its nice to see other owners around.

SteamWitch, awesome hauls, love all your Kirito figures and congrats on finally getting your April shipments. (:

Anneko, cool shot. Now I kind of wish they made a Fuko Pop version of Jurassic Park. DX

After thinking my Sebastian was lost for good, he finally arrived so my April haul is here finally, only took forever!

From left to right: Kotobukiya ARTFX J Black Butler: Book of Circus: Sebastian Michaelis 1:8 figure; Top: Funko Pop's #769 Sesshoumaru; Bottom: Funko Pop #767 Inuyasha; From back to front: M's Factory Sasuke Uchiha New Illustration A4 Clear File, Acrylic Stand, and Tin Badge.

I got the original release of this figure five years ago, but wasn't able to afford a second one at the time, so I got a second one this year to unbox. I think the face looks a bit different from the original, the lower lip looks bigger, and the hair looks sharper. Of course I couldn't get a decent close up five years ago, and this is a terrible extreme close up with flash, but here's the original release if anyone wants to see it, in a crappy close up photo with terrible lighting. The box is exactly the same, as far as I can see. There's a little bit of different text on the new re-release that says "Sculpted by Piron with support from Kotobukiya," but I don't know if the original release also said that, because I can't read Japanese. DX The original release had a lot of Japanese text which seem like the details of who sculpted and painted the figure, but again, I can't read it so I have no idea what it actually said, but this one's box doesn't have the additional text at the very bottom:

Close up of the clear file, which is exactly the same as the stand and tin badge, only cropped differently:

The demon dog brothers. I was planning on getting two Sesshoumaru, but then I forgot and only got one. I like the eyes enough, so I guess I might not get two to repaint one. However, his face has a bump, and there's a paint flaw on his left cheek, so who knows... Inuyasha is prefect as far as I could tell; I didn't really paid too much attention to him though, because I was too worried about Sesshoumaru's facial flaws (he is my favorite brother).

    13. @Enzyme I love that version of Sebastian too but I had too many bjd preorders to get him. So I'm happy I have the Book of Atlantic version.
I edited my previous post I forgot about my noodle stopper Kirito since he is on the shelf with my other noodle stoppers.:doh So I have 12 Kiritos all in black. I think I'm going to move them to another shelf for better viewing. :wiggle

I'm waiting on my preordered pair of Inuyasha nendos, to make one into a human version but I have to wait until October or maybe later with the virus situation. We will see how late Rimuru is since he is supposed to come out in August.
I am a hermit by nature so being isolated isn't a big deal, still my granddaughter comes to visit from Austin, aka Covidville, Texas. Thank god she was raised by us and is super cautious, wearing mask and being hyper aware. I gave her one of my Magical Beast Nifflers to take home.

    14. Glad to see pre orders coming in!

I have a May pre order at Ami Ami that’s been paid for but not shipped. I’m in no hurry as the Nendoroid it’s meant for is delayed and I can’t find a Nendoroid body right now. Prices are crazy!

My internet went down Saturday and was repaired today. Yeah, I read books, but it drove me crazy not being able to see what’s going on, on the net. :abambi:

    15. SteamWitch, he is my favorite scale figure of Sebastian, and the first scale figure I got of him five years ago. I was torn between him and the Megahouse one that was also released around the same time, but I wasn't able to afford both, so I got the one I liked the best and loved it so much I regretted not getting a second one. I was lucky they re-released him this year, so I could snag another one. I'm always tempted to get Kirito figures, but I know I shouldn't add more characters, to my already long list of males I collect figures off. Those Noodle Stoppers are super addicting, and I love black, so it was specially hard resisting the NS version of Kirito! (:

Kurogane, I have a lot of shipments being held at AmiAmi, but I'm also not worried. I know they'll ship when they can, and I rather not pay DHL prices -- I already hate paying EMS when the figures/packages are too big to ship via registered SAL. Heck! I'm such a cheap skate when it comes to shipping/handling I don't like paying for Air, but I had to for a few of my earlier AA orders because that's all that was available. Luckily, I was able to pay registered SAL for my last two (three) packages. Who knows when those will ship though. DX

    16. @Enzyme yep, shipping costs for courier companies is very steep. I usually try to go for what is reasonable, even though I agonize over how long it takes to arrive. I also hate when sellers pad the shipping (eBay/amazon) and charge lots more than actual shipping. If you need compensation for packing materials, etc, please add it to the cost of the item. It’s angering when the shipping is $20, when you know it’s really around $9.

    17. I'm so excited to share my off-topic dolls! Yay for more woodland friends! I'm currently blushing the Doll Family-A DuoDuo that I just bought secondhand! It's a lot of fun so far but I ran out of MSC so I have to wait to finish her while my new can travels. :sweat Here's a photo of my Doll Family-A Pet Frog, Puddles! I love her so much! She's so much fun and really is great as a carry around in my pocket doll!

    19. Sometimes at least at Joann fabrics you can find "black scuba knit" the texture and feel is almost similar to a fake neoprene, which is the best I can describe. Might be worth checking out and getting an eighth or quarter yard.

      • x 1
    20. Cool, thank you for the tip! I don't know when I'll feel comfortable enough to go to JoAnns and search for fabric, but I'll try to look for some online. Thanks again, I sincerely appreciate the help! (:

    21. I am pumped! I have wanted them forever, but the historical girls have always been sold out. I'd love to see your pictures

      • x 1
    22. If you haven't looked into it already, just an FYI that Joann's has yardage minimums for online orders (usually a 2-yd minimum for each fabric). Pretty reasonable if you're making human-sized clothes, but not so great if you're making doll clothes!

    23. I didn't check at JoAnns website, but I did Google the fabric by the name you gave me, and it seems relatively inexpensive on most other websites. My computer froze, however, so I completely forgot to keep checking sizes. I don't want to purchase a lot of it if I have no further use of it -- my figure is a 1:6 male, which is pretty small, and a top would be even smaller. I might have to see if there's any places that sell samples. I don't mind the expense, as much as the waste of fabric I won't use. I might have to wait until I can go to physicals stores if I can't find samples of the fabric online. Thanks again for helping, I was already settled on using a black balloon, for the top, which is probably not going to work because I don't know how in the world I would sew one without it ripping apart literally at the seams. Lol! (:

    24. If anyone sees a Fujiwara no Sai figure for sale let me know. I think he is due out this fall but there is a chance he will be released earlier. I didn't order him when he was offered and now he's gone from amiami. I'd really like to have him.

    26. If he was available at AA for preorder, he probably sold out, so that's why you can't find him on there anymore. They don't always do so, but sometimes they remove figures from their website if they are not available anymore -- which is kind of weird, because they have other sold out figures they never take down (even ones that are a decade old). Regardless, he seems to be all sold out on Japanese retailers, but I found that BBTS still has him for pre-order, although he's at least $50-$70 more than on most Japanese retailers, which kind of stinks. He's a stunning looking figure, so I hope you post photos of him if you do get him. (:

    27. Thank you, I hope I can find him one day. Some one has him on eBay, delivery time in September but I have no trust in that so I will wait. Maybe I can get a damaged box one or a return. I'm crossing my fingers, I should have gotten him when I first saw him. :doh

    28. I just finished customized this cutie from parabox!! Her eye came in the mail today after being stuck in shipping for a while. :D:D She's a paraboccle cyclops and I just love her so much. I'm calling her Lala.

    29. Welcome! Yeah, I don't feel comfortable hitting Joann's with everything going on and how badly they've bungled things for their employees. (Worked there for 17 years, thankfully not during this though) Considering they JUST sent the first bottle of sanitizer in over five years a few weeks ago to my firend's store... uhm no.

    30. Yeah! I found Fujiwara no Sai figure again on amiami and I pre-ordered him. His release date is September so he will probably arrive in October or November.

    31. Congratulations SteamWitch, his pre-order is already closed once again, so you're super lucky! (:

None of my orders from previous months are shipping yet so that's no fun, but I just got a payment request for my G.E.M. Sasuke Uchiha Shinobi World War ver. figure, which I'm super nervous about. I got the first G.E.M. Sasuke figure and really wanted a second one to unbox, but I missed the second and third re-releases (I hope they do a fourth, but how lucky would that be?). I was really upset for a long time, because I kept checking and they never had an open pre-order when I did check -- I know I already have one, but I wanted a second one to unbox (because I am insane, and weird!). Now I get this other version which doesn't look as pretty (facial sculpt wise) as the first one, and it's so much more expensive and apparently comes in an exaggeratedly large box because shipping is half the price of the figure. But, I am an obsessive Sasuke Uchiha collector, and did pass up on a few of the other scaled figures of his (they want to give him weird facial expressions, that are not my cup of tea more than half the time, or a gaping mouth that looks really off). I just hope his sculpt looks smoother than it does on promos, and his box is not as super huge as I'm imagining. He is not holding any large objects, and doesn't have a massive base, so I don't know why his box is so large? I won't get to see him until late winter maybe, if we are lucky and Japan can start shipping normally by then, so I guess I'll have to wait to see Japanese owner photos of him, in-box, or unboxings to see why he comes in such an oversized box. Sorry for two-page the rant, I hate paying EMS for any figure alone, more so when they are not large scale and their boxes are ridiculously (inexcusably) large. DX

    32. @Enzyme I can only assume someone backed out of their order for him and I was lucky to grab it at just the right time. I also did a search on his name not just scrolling through the pages so I will remember that trick. I checked and orders for him are closed again.:clover:clover:clover
He is expensive but besides my Kirito obsession he is on my short list of have to have.
Oh and rant away shipping is a killer.

    35. Yeah, still waiting for a couple of my pre orders to ship from Japan. I was thinking maybe this winter, lol. I have a few pre orders that I’m still waiting for, and expecting to be very delayed. They are at BBTS (Big Bad Toy Store) which seems to get their pre orders months later than the stores in Japan. At least I don’t have to pay for them yet.

@phanuel oh, really cute doll! I have seen Molly before as just figures, and always thought she would make a great doll.

    36. Ooh, off topic doll chat? I've got a few! I recently pulled my childhood 1992 My Size Barbie out of storage and have been trying to clean her up. Her hair is still a bit of a mess and she's rather huge to boil-wash it, but I'm thinking of trying to do so and take care of her frizzy wig. I also been meaning to pick up some wig spray to give it some gloss and shine once I'm finished... I'm also looking into the storage bins I have to see if I've got any more classic Barbies waiting to be loved again.

I'm also like, superlatively on the fence about buying this slightly smaller but still quite large Rapunzel doll. Every single review I've heard is that her hair is a nightmare to care for, perhaps as should be expected, but I saw a review saying if you use the proper wig spray on her hair it will be glossy and (get ready) not quite so (joke approaching) Tangled (pause for big laughs). She's only 60 bucks and she's kinda huge, I've seen her in person at my local Target, and she looks pretty poseable... But I'm really not sure because of the hair-care aspect on her.

Not quite sure how posting images works, but here's my Large Girl in the garden.

    37. @ziiii, the doll you have from Amazon that you say is toy-grade, is banned (not allowed) to be discussed anywhere on this forum due to them having PVC recasts of some legitimate BJD companies head sculpts (not sure if the bodies too). So you probably want to remove the link to their sales page on Amazon, to avoid any trouble. There's a very informative post here, about which dolls are banned from discussion anywhere on this forum, and also in the news section there's a post about the rules only allowing legitimate toys to be discussed on here (even if it's just the Brigadoon section). (:

    40. @Enzyme Oh, word? I thought that company *was* the legit one that people were making knock-offs of. I can't really find any good information on them since they're toy-grade, off topic, banned etc. Thanks for the heads up.

    41. I was under that impression as well, until not too long ago. However, I read somewhere (I can't for the life of me remember where) that they copied Angel Studio Liu Rushi head sculpt for their "1:3" female heads and Asleep Eidolon Moira for their 30cm female sculpt. I am not sure if the bodies are copied as well, but in the link I posted in my comment for you above, DoA has banned them from being discussed anywhere on the forum, so that's that. (:

On a more on-topic for this thread update, I finally repainted the lips on my Very Cool Assassin's head sculpt. I want to put the head on a male body, but there's very little options that will work for an actual 1:6 female head sculpt. I think the K-Pop Mattel bodies might work and found some at Ross for under $4, so I'm going to try them. The color is almost a perfect match for this sculpt (if we ignore the skin texture), but I think the neck might be too narrow for my taste. I haven't completely removed the peg on the body, because it will be useless if I decide it won't work for my female sculpts I want on male bodies (and I have a few of them), but I have no use for them otherwise, so maybe I won't mind ruining them. DX

The whole head is default Very Cool paint apps, only the lips were repainted. I was glad to learn they don't use fixative on their sculpts when I wiped the lips off, unlike the Super Duck ones... I was terrified of running the gorgeous paint work, just to repaint the lips, but luckily there was no (clouding) fixative on there. I'm tempted to get the 1:12 one s well, and the side glancing 1:6, but the latter goes for a small fortune nowadays (second market). n__n

Crappy pixelated phone photos on the right, I need a new camera:

    42. @Enzyme the lips look so much better now! You are so talented when it comes to tiny face painting. It’s so frustrating I can’t even try to do it anymore. Me and my blank resin crew, lol.

I think I have a full blown Nendoroid doll addiction. :aeyepop:

12 Nendoroid doll girls with animal ears (thought there wouldn’t be that many)
      10 Nendoroid doll boys
7 Nendoroids (staying on original body)
4 Nendoroid doll bodies on pre order
2 Nendoroids on pre order (one will get a Nendoroid doll body)

Yikes! When I look at the numbers I’m shocked. 35! I might need to make that an even 40....:sweat

    43. TYSM for mentioning what the proper non-copy sculpts are! I had a look and both are very very pretty, but I love the Asleep Eidolon Moira. What a beautiful little doll :)

And WOW! Those lips are juicy, great work on that head!

    44. @Kurogane, wow, that's an army of Nendoroid! It would be so cute to see all of them in a single photo grouped together! Thanks for your kind comments on my repainting skills. It's not the best I wish could do, but I've kind of learned that my trembly hands of doom, won't allow me to do any better than what I already can (if only swamping human hands was as easy as swapping 1:6 ones). T___T;;;

@Ziii, no problem! I have an issue with purchasing illegal copies of any sort, so I always do as much research as possible because I collect a lot of other types of toys. It's not always easy, but if you dig deep enough, you can most of the time tell whether there's something shady or not about certain companies. I used to be really interested on the 30cm dolls from that company, but it always felt there was something off. I'm glad I decided not to get her in the end, mostly because it is illegally reproduced, plus counterfeit items are a health hazard and quite frankly not worth the risk or money. (:

    45. @kurogane, what a huge collection! I'm planning a custom Nendoroid soon and I've been debating whether I should try to get regular nendoroid body parts for him or if it would be easier to do a nendoroid doll so I can just buy him clothes... do you have a recommendation one way or the other? I've got a few regular Nendoroids, but no Nendoroid dolls yet, so I don't really know what they're like.

    46. @angelangel I am happy to share my experiences with you. I think there are some good tutorials on YouTube for hybridization. And just to make this easier, Nendoroid Doll bodies are awesome! No issues, perfect fit! Only draw back is getting them. Before Covid, you could get the bodies on Amazon direct from Good Smile Co US for around $24.00. I’ve looked and Good Smile is sold out. Other sellers are selling for around $90 plus. Ridiculous! I put some on pre order at Big Bad Toy Store here in the US, but they take months, and months to get their stock in compared to Japan. Oh well, it was the only place to get them at a reasonable price. They fit Obitsu 11cm clothing too!

I’ve tried using Obitsu 11cm bodies and it works, but I always had issues with the heads falling off, as the neck peg had to be modded to fit the Obitsu neck hole. This was years ago, and I hope there are better tutorials these days.

I’ve also used Cu-poche bodies (hard to find at reasonable prices these days) and same issues with the heads falling off every time you move them. It’s because the Nendoroid’s neck peg is just a little longer (have to cut some off) and slimmer than the Cu-poche’s. The Cu-poche neck peg would need to be modded to fit the Nendoroid, sigh. I resorted to using pva glue to hold the neck peg in, but can’t turn the head. I still have two such hybrids as they are so adorable, and one full Cu-poche who has no issues keeping his head on.

    47. @kurogane thanks so much for all the info! I do a lot of ordering through shopping services because of my fashion hobbies, so I don't think I'll have any trouble ordering a body from somewhere in Japan if it isn't available in any US shops. I was also planning on designing and ordering custom face plates from the official face maker site (I'm planning to make Ginko, from Mushi Shi). Do you know if there are different types of hand parts available for them as well? It would be cute if I could find one with a little cigarette for him, though I suppose it probably wouldn't be hard to make one myself if not.

Good to know too that they fit OB11 clothes. Do they fit OB11 shoes as well, or should I try to figure out something else for that?

Also, I've looked around at the various Nendoroid hairstyles, and I haven't been able to find one that would suit the style I need. I've been debating whether to commission an artist to make some custom hair parts, since I've found some on Instagram who do really nice customs, but it might be easier to just get blank bald head parts and use a doll wig instead. Do you have a preference or recommendation for what to do?

    48. I couldn't resist. I bought yet another cinnamon Nendo. That makes three. Look like I am getting those last two characters after all. I finally got pants for most of them, so they are slowly but surely being clothed.

    49. @angelangel have you checked out the Chibi Chop Shop? They sell Nendoroid parts, all the parts! That’s where I got most of my animal eared girls (hair parts and face plates). I’ve wanted to try the Nendoroid face maker, but forgot, lol.

As for wigs, I just went with Nendoroid hair as I’m terrible with wigs for my bjds, but I have seen Nendoroids with wigs and they look really cute. If you can commission someone to make what you are looking for, go for it! Having the look you want makes the character.

Unfortunately Obitsu 11cm shoes will not fit the Nendoroid bodies. Nendoroid has released some shoe sets for pre order, male and female as well as clothing sets. None of my Nendoroid dolls have shoes. I should get some, but I’m spending all my $ on getting more dolls.....

@iamkathybrown yay! Yes, it is a slow process getting them dressed. I’ve seen some really cute clothes on Etsy, but I’m not looking for cute (until I finally succumbed). So making clothes is my main option and I’m not always successful. I’m still trying to sew a shirt that fits (even with a pattern) for Deku. I would love to see yours!

    50. My little redhaired Nendodoll is wearing Picco Neemo clothing and shoes. His wig is a Monique 3-4. Obviously he can't wear Picco Neemo pants or long sleeved clothing worn by the Picco Neemo standing next to him, but short sleeves shirts, shorts and short pants work great. The Picco shoes are a bit large but they still look appropriate.

    51. do you have a link including the ones in the back ground It's too much a tease to see the hands only!

    52. Awesome detailed info on what fits Nendoroids, @kurogane & @SteamWitch, thank you both for all the great tips! I recently got a DAM Toys Drawman 1:12 action figure, and was wondering if the Azone Picco Nemo stuff would fit, since they claim to be 1:12 figures, but a lot of the scales seem to be all over the place when it comes to fashion-type of dolls. I wish they didn't do that, because it's confusing and wasteful, if you intend to purchase for an actual 1:12 figure and then it turns out it isn't in scale (like with chubby baby 30cm BJD and the wrong use of 1:6). DX

They have six or seven different version; I wish I could get at least two more, but I'm a bit terrified of scales smaller than 1:6. This body is so well proportioned however, that I just had to own at least one! I wish their 1:6 bodies were as nicely proportioned as this -- most seem really weirdly proportioned with really tiny pectorals, or tiny torsos, or a combination of both! I think it's a preference for longer legs, which I get, but it looks so wrong (to me) when the torsos are so tiny in relation to the rest of the body. Maybe it's because I favor realism, or at least more ideal proportions (rather than cartoony ones). (:

Also got this Funko Pop! Anime Scene, which I thought was going to be releasing until August, but was moved to an earlier release(?). I'm glad it's here regardless.

And got this gachapon of Alice in Wonderland from the Bandai Capchara Doll series; I really wanted to get the original release, instead of this pastel version but these legitimate ones go for way more than the original 600 yen. I have seen a lot of counterfeit of these for under $10 USD for a whole set of 3 (or the other series combined), which is really gross. The authentic Bandai ones come in clear plastic, unlike the knockoffs that come in a colorful printed plastic with all the figures printed on it., in case anyone is interested in them. I'm still going to look for a first release version, that hopefully isn't too insanely overpriced, but I doubt I'll find it anywhere near its retail price.

    53. @Enzyme it’s interesting that the action figures are now going into 1/12th scale. I really like your Drawman figure, yes, very realistic. I don’t know what would fit regarding Pico neemo. I have two 1/12th size guys and they are very thin, while the 1/6th guys are more Barbie size and too thin for Ken. Yes sizes are all over the place! I have one of those 30cm big baby sized yosd! His head is as big as a Dollfie Dream, and his body can fit msd clothes, even though he is 30cm. So frustrating. I like your newest acquisitions! Always so interesting!

    54. @kurogane, 1:6 figure makers have started to make 1:12 since a bit over a year ago, but this is the first figure I am interested in. They even made the "rubbery" Phicen bodies in 1:12; I was tempted to get the athletic male body, but again, that size is a bit terrifying to me (too small, I feel like I'll loose a hand or foot, and never find it again in my lifetime!). I was tempted by the Very Cool 1:12 version of the head sculpt I repainted the lips on, but the whole set is for female bodies, and I'm not really interested in collecting female figures. I atleast try to avoid it. I will look into what type of clothes the Picco Neemo has, they are probably too cutesy for my 1:12 figure up there, but maybe the shoes wont be to out of character. (:

    56. Loptr, that is such a gorgeous photo, thanks for sharing! I've been tempted to customize Blythe for a while, but always have a bunch of other pre-orders in the way, that I can't justify purchasing one instead of a scale figure. DX

I got one of my 1:6 grails as a belated birthday gift, from my bff. I was so excited when I opened the package; I never thought I was going to get to own one of these sculpts. He was released quite a few years ago by Very Cool Toys (same as my Assassin a few posts ago). I missed him when he was released as a full figure (from a Chinese computer game), because I only wanted his head(s), then they rereleased the sculpt with another set, but I also missed him (people are willing to pay too much for a parted HS these days, and I can't justify the bids they usually go for). I had settled for never owning him, but I'm super happy to have him in my collection now, and also very glad he works rather well on the WorldBox AT011 body, I thought I had no use for (other than just another action figure body I own), I wish all the BJD I own had necks as proportionate to their jawlines, as this head looks on this body.

I suck at photography, but for some reason I can't get the head/body ratio to look right on photos, as it does IRL.

    57. @Enzyme Wow, he is sooooo handsome!! I love all the detail in his face, he looks so real (and gorgeous!) and that body looks perfect for him. His shaved head in particular is very impressive to me, it looks so good.

Can you tell me more about the body you have him on? I don't really know much about action figures, but I have this RAH Ginko figure who seems to have a similar body type to the one you have there-- I bought him secondhand since they don't make him anymore, and although he's really super poseable, he's pretty old, so I'm kind of worried about the plastic he's made of (particularly his joints... I don't want him to break, but I don't know how sturdy he is). You mentioned having other action figures, so if you have any insight, I would love to know.
