Sooo a while back when I joined the BJD hobby I ended up selling most of my anime figures. This past week after I was shopping for some art books on Mandarake I ended up seeing a figure I really wanted but had unfortunately decided to pass on about 5 or so years back (i wanted a doll xD) so I ended up getting her finally! I also ordered a few others and I am quite excited to get back into this collecting and enjoying seeing other peoples figures on here!

Been taking pictures of my doll family when the weather is fair. Here’s my Hujoo Berry named Umi.

 

I always wanted a Hujoo Berry or the original girl Hujoo on a male body, sadly I only settled for my only sleepy Wings, and I'll always sorely regret that! I feel like Hujoo disappeared without a trace, a few years ago. It's always when they are completely out of my reach, that I realize just how much I really wanted to own one. Not just an opened eyed Wings, but also the female sculpts as well. Too late now, I guess. T__T;;;

My Penny's Box x Dollzone Adou-Long dragon, that I waited so long to get, so he wouldn't arrive with a broken horn... got here with a freaking broken horn. I still love him to bits, I find him incredibly beautiful in person, more so than photos ever do him justice (not talking about my own photos, that are complete sh1t!). Oh well:

Thank you! If I wasn't a big old weirdo (germaphobe), I would definitely give 2nd hand a try. I did ask Hujoo when they were still around, if they were going to re-release these guys, but they kept saying to wait for them. They never did a re-release. T___T;;

 

I like seeing this! I should take pictures of mine when they arrive but I always forget to. I get too excited about opening things!

I bought a few 1/4 scale figures this month and need to make space for them, for some reason they take up more room than my 70cm Iplehouse guys do

I haven’t been collecting much of anything anymore. Got burn out, ha ha. I am waiting for a 1/6 scale Link custom head (3D resin printed). When I found it I just had to get it! And I’m also waiting for nice weather so I can finish my 1/6 Wu Kong, and now Link figures.

Oooh, a custom 1:6 Link! I would love to see that; I got the two that Medicom Toy (RAH ones) released some years ago, but because I am a weirdo and RAH figures break if you look at them funny. I never unboxed mine. I would love a custom 1:6 Link, a Hyrule Warriors version would be my ultimate goal for me! Sadly, I feel Hyrule Warriors Link is not anywhere near popular, so I'll probably have to custom make one myself. The head sculpt would be a pain though. Is yours going to be artists made, or a "free/pay--to-print" 3D file type of deal? I look forward to seeing your custom Link, whenever you want to share him on here! (:

 

@Enzyme the Link head I found is BOTW style off ye old auction site. The seller has so many unusual heads! They have anime, video game, animals, and comic characters. I don’t think any are official, but someone did have to render them so they could be 3D printed. I don’t know how you feel about non licensed items. I only get official collectibles, but if it doesn’t exist, and it’s for my own personal use (and definitely not recast, bootleg) I will. It’s a gray area, acceptable in one hobby, but not another. I get nervous talking about it as I’m not sure it’s ok here? I’ve heard about the RAH figures and won’t get any as what’s the point if they are that delicate? I like the hardy plastic figures more and more. No silicone either. Tried it and too hard to take care of it (or I just worried over it too much).
I also found a new body type for the Link head (MAF Body) that looks more like Obitsu in style so Link won’t be too buff. He’s strong but not a body builder, lol. I’ll most likely have to make his outfit and I’m kinda nervous about it. We shall see when the time comes. Same with painting the head, but that is for future me.

 

Kurogane, I own a few unlicensed 1:6 figures myself, as long as they are originally created by the company and not illegally copied parts, I feel they are in the gray area as well. Like fan-art, sculpts or cosplay that's sold for profit but the creator doesn't hold a ln actual licence to the IP.

I own the MAF body, I got the (single color) original release a few years ago. It's pretty tall, not too buff but definitely big for most 1:6 head sculpts (that I own). I got it for my custom Eren Yeager figure that I'm slowly working on. (:

 

@Enzyme oh, I didn’t know the MAF body was so tall… and too big for most 1/6 heads. Very disappointing! Does MAF make heads? Looks like I’ll need one for this body and I will have to find a different one for Link. I didn’t expect this to be easy, as it is very similar to bjds when trying to hybrid. Guess I will go look at bodies again and see what’s available. I’m not picky, it’s just I’m looking for a specific skin tone.

 

Kurogane, they do make heads, but I've never seen them officially for sale separately. The brand is called Kamisoul and they have an official website. They have/had the licence for The King' s Avatar, so they released a full figure with a head. They also released a full silicone body with a head sculpt, but I never saw that for sale separately on their website either. I saw one on Ali once, but I'm too scared to purchase toys on there so I didn't pull the trigger. I haven't search for it in a while, but all I see in their website that is new, is their sets of hands which I need, but first I have to find a reliable seller -- last I checked, they don't ship internationally and are probably not interested in a market outside of China. I am using a Xingiwawa head sculp on mine, since those are kind of huge on their on bodies. Hope that helps. (:

@Enzyme thanks, it does help! I think I will just have to put aside the body for now and just plan a little better. Especially now that the tariff situation is developing. I hope the head at least gets here soonish.

 

Reclaiming my childhood, lmao. I had one of these lovely ladies when I was a kid, but for crappy kid reasons lost possession of her. Turns out you can find them pretty cheap on ebay so I snagged a sister to my forever lost girl.

@werepuppy , if you're thinking of getting one you should. The cat is cute too. Fortunately I have a lot of clothing from other dolls that fit the Mariko ones so I'm all set there!

 

@phanuel Hopefully one will still be in stock by the time I have some free money for it! What size of clothing do you recommend for it?

 

@werepuppy , the dress in the photo is from Tokissi and was made to fit their PVC bunnies, but, unfortunately, they don't sell the clothes anymore. I have dressed her in Blythe clothing and I think Barbie/fashion doll things would fit. It all depends on the style. I haven't explored all the possibilities yet.
