    2. @Autumnfallen - Your Kaitos are so cool, especially senbonzakura, sing&smile, and the one with the umbrella. Which song is the module with the umbrella from?

    3. I don't think there's actually a song! The line of figures is called Hanairogoromo and is based on a concept illustration by fuzichoco.

    4. In honor of the 5th anniversary yesterday, my Undertale collection.

    9. Autumnfallen, beautiful display! I love Kaito and Len, but only stick to purchasing trading or gashapon figures of them. I've only gotten less than few of each so far, but I would love to have gotten the Hanairogoromo one, it's gorgeous! Thanks for sharing your collection.

Safira, nice display! They all look very happy to be there (sorry, I don't know much about Western licenses). (:

Phanuel, all your celluloid are gorgeous, I keep admiring each one you post. Their expressions are so unique to the type of doll, it's really amazing these are still being made, even if just in tiny quantities. I one two Kewpie dolls myself, they are tiny, but I'm not sure that they are vintage, I think they are newer reproductions (one from when I was a kid and one tiny winged one from Japan, but pretty sure not vintage). n__n

Stellarphenomena, she's gorgeous! I love her Fall inspired outfit and her face is beautiful! Thanks for sharing.

On another note; has anyone gotten bulk surface mail shipment before, and have it arrive successfully/no-damage/no-loss? I got a few emails from AmiAmi that most of my orders are shipping via that method, but I never used it before, so I'm kind of freaking out a little. I have a lot of pretty expensive things on some of those shipments, and while AA will cover if they get lost or damaged this one time, I rather not risk losing a sold out figure if I can avoid it. On the other had, if I have most of these ship via DHL, it would be more than I could justify for shipping for all (four boxes so far, the rest who knows?). So, I am wondering if anyone has gotten surface mail delivered successfully before. I'm just worried that I'll get damaged or lost figures, and I'm an OCD, MISB collector. DX

    10. @Enzyme well, looks like I’m in the same ‘boat’ as you (pardon the pun). I got the same email about the premium ‘land’ service. I’ve read on another post that other members received dolls via boat and it took 2-3 months. This was early this summer and to various countries. It sounds like the premium service takes about a month to reach the US from Japan. I don’t know. I’m going to try it as my order is not expensive and I’ve already bought another from a dealer here in the US. I’ve been waiting since May, what’s another month (and I really don’t need it anymore). DHL might be pricey, but it gets to you in a week (or less if on the West Coast). I paid $75 for my second dollhouse kits and this was FedEx Priority as DHL cost more. It just depends on how valuable those figures are to you, the amount of stress it causes to have something happen to them. Personally, I’d pay for DHL and get the figures and be able to put the whole issue behind me (and still bemoan the shipping cost). I’m not ordering overseas until shipping gets better. At least I’ll be saving money, sigh.

    11. @kurogane, thank you so much for your input! I'm probably going to request an estimate for the orders via DHL. I don't think I can justify $70+ on shipping right now; I thought the figures were the more expensive scale ones, but I checked and most are prize ones and a Pop Up Parade one. I don't mind waiting, that's not an issue for me, I just don't want to lose any of them because it is a huge pain in the gut to get them second market or via a US retailer. At least for me, since I never shop from USA retailers, it's kind of a pain to see which ones are reliable and sell only legitimate figures. Most of them are prize however, so they're probably all sold out by now, if they were available through USA retailers. I'll guess I'll ask AA if they can hold the orders instead, if it seems like it's going to be too expensive via DHL, or too stressful via boat. Thanks again for your help and opinion on the matter, kurogane! (:

    12. Yes, I have; it took a while but the box and contents arrived safely.

I got lucky and someone canceled their order for Fujiwara No Sai so I was able to grab him up, but it looks like another delay for him and my Rimuru. If all my preorders actually are in stock by October it is going to be big bucks.

      • x 1
    13. @Enzyme you’re welcome. I understand about anxiety and ocd as I’m prone to them too. Making these type of decisions is harder than it should be, lol. The ‘what if’is pretty strong. So many possibilities you get overwhelmed with trying to ‘best case scenario’ them all.

@SteamWitch congratulations on getting Fujiwara No Sai! So lucky to snag a cancellation. Figures are expensive enough. I hope October is kind on your wallet!

    14. @SteamWitch, cool! It's great to know it is a reliable service, I don't mind waiting for it, just don't want to have to worry about something getting lost on its way to me. Thanks sharing your experience with surface shipping! (:

@kurogane, it's a pain having to worry about additional stuff, when things are already a royal pain in the gut as they are. I think I might get away with having all four orders ship via DHL, but I'm still a bit unsure I understood the person that reply to my mountain of questions. DX

    15. @Enzyme shipping has gotten more complex as prices are now figured on size of box, weight, and distance, so I’m always surprised when the quote is given. Like, when did it get that expensive?!

I have been working on my Japanese dollhouse and have finished the Tokonoma (display area) and will try to get the Tea Room done tomorrow. It’s been interesting. The kits look deceptively easy, but have some minor issues that need careful attention to details. I will share pictures soon! I really am happy with how they are turning out, even with my panic attacks over my ideas to ‘modify’ the kits to more my style.

    16. @kurogane, oooh! I can't wait to see your progress! I love kits, I used to be a huge fan of Gundam ones, but as I started getting older (and lazier) I stopped wanting to build tinier toys with tiny parts. I think the last kit I built was the Rogue Titan by Kotobukiya, quite some years ago -- I keep getting tempted by the cyborg/robot ones by Kotobukiya, but I know would probably just leave it boxed for all eternity if I did get one (or the Hatsune Miku ones). I don't think I would ever dare to try building a whole house though, that just seems like it would require too much time and patience, which I don't really have anymore (patience I mean). I do love seeing dioramas and tiny miniatures other people create however, I am a bit addicted to watching miniature channels on YouTube before I can fall asleep (I'm an insomniac).

I don't recall if I have shared my Rogue Titan on here, but here's a super old photo from when I first "completed" the kit. I never blushed all the pairs of hand because I was lazy, and thought I would never use them anyway (which is true, but I kind of regret it now).

      • x 10
    17. @Enzyme super nice! I have that kit, but mine is un blushed. I love how you made a plastic kit so realistic! The rest of my figures were uncomfortable with him being in the buff, so I made mine a pair of shorts, lol. I’m just in awe of your blushing and painting skills on your figures, so I guess we all have our preferred skill set. I can do blushing and face ups, but it’s too stressful and I’m lazy, so I’ve chosen not to. But doing kits, or dollhouses, lots of motivation. Though another skill I am lazy with is interior design. My dollhouses are all empty inside! I used to be more dedicated when I was younger, but my patience is getting less, and I need it back!

    18. @kurogane, thank you! I love blushing things, so I felt the need to blush him (but not all pairs of hands, because I was feeling extra lazy that day, apparently). I think I'll blush them someday hopefully, just because I do love blushing hands, even if his are super tiny compared to most hands I usually blush. It's really cool that we all love different aspects of the same hobby! I love doing face ups and body blush on my dolls, and mods but I suck at those things. I sew as well and make wigs, but I don't know half of what I'm doing most of the time -- I just prefer less-wig-like-hair-bulk. I am also terrible at interior design and lighting -- when I was in college one of my 3D modeling instructors said my lighting was too garish, and I needed to work on more natural day-light-like tones. DX I feel I got used to having my "art-work" constructively critiqued enough during those days, not to care now when I read mean sh*t about my face up skills, or dolls. Those were certainly good times (kind of miss them). Lol!

    19. @Enzyme here are some pictures as promised!

[IMG]Tanjiro in the dollhouse by SD Hampton, on Flickr

I got two kits finished! Only seven more to go! This house is going to be HUGE! Anyway, it will be worth all the work ahead.
This is the Tokonoma (display area) and the formal Tea Room for entertaining guests. I did do some alterations. I chose to change the wall paper to cream card stock with colored paper bits, the Fusuma (solid sliding doors) to a green mulberry paper, and the doors on the Tokonoma cabinet (green wrapping paper). I made the artwork from a print from a calendar (needs to be hung), the Bonsai tree, and the zabuton (cushions). The table was included in the kits. I used two colors of wood stain (light walnut & dark walnut). The light walnut matches the color of Hinoki (cypress) used in traditional Japanese homes. Lots of sanding and staining, which I enjoy. Next up is the Hiroen (porch) that overlooks the viewing garden (also a kit). I'm going to gloss over the issues I had to overcome and just enjoy the finished rooms.

Tanjiro is enjoying the house quite a bit. It's the perfect size and I'm going to have fun taking lots of diorama shots!

    20. Gorgeous work so far @kurogane! I can't wait to see the rest, and all the future photoshoots you'll take with your adorable Nendoroid! I am a bit sad I didn't get Tanjiro and Nezuko seeing your Tanjiro. Oh well, maybe they'll re-release them when I have tons of extra cash and not a million other pre-orders to pay for. Thanks for sharing, your hard work paid off, your kits look amazing so far! (:

    23. @kurogane, I hope your kits are just as you want them to be, when you are done with them. I look forward to seeing all completed. (:

@phanuel, those are adorable! I love the bunny ears.

Here's one of my shipments, this is one of the three September figures I purchased during this month (from Japan). I didn't get decent photos, but I'm too excited to get this one Japanese shipment after so many months of nothing. I did have to go via DHL for this one, but it wasn't too crazy compared to what EMS and boat would have cost (really weird, but I'm not complaining). I like that they made the box taller and not wider, like with past PAK. I don't like that they keep Photoshopping the face and hair though, I liked it better when they used straight figure photos for the cover of the box. Oh well, it's still a gorgeous box, and I won't be opening this one but I hope to take more decent photos of the box -- as I often do, for my own personal records. (:

    24. @Enzyme I’m glad the DHL package arrived and was a reasonable cost. What a great figure! Cloud looks really good.

Since the good weather is soon to be gone, I’ve been sanding the other remaining three kits so I can get them stained. I have to do this outside because the stain smells, and it takes a couple days for it to go away.

    25. @kurogane, thank you! Cloud is not my fav FFVII character, not even the third, but I found this figure beautiful so I got this one (chose not to get the 1st version), and hope they don't make any more, or that I won't like them if they do. I already have too many of his, and he's not even my second favorite... I am sad they delayed Sephiroth all the way to June 2021 though. I am also getting a larger shipment on Thursday (fingers crossed), also via DHL but I only had to pay around $5 extra for four shipments combined for orders from April and May. I still have around seven or eight other shipments that will have to wait, because DHL has a size limit apparently (really weird, I guess I know nothing about DHL and what stuff they can/not ship). The larger scale figures will also have to wait, which is really a pain in the gut because it doesn't seem like the Japanese Post will resume shipping to the USA anytime this year (although I hope otherwise, because some of those scale figures would be too expensive if I go with DHL for those, like almost the cost of the figure itself, which I can't justify paying for shipping on any figure no matter what).

I am very glad to hear you got to work on your stains. Your rooms look so much nicer due to the level of detail and extra customization you add to them. (:

    26. @Enzyme yeah, what a messed up year. I still have a Nendoroid over in Japan and like you wonder when the shipping will start up again. I’ve decided not to do anymore orders. We’ll see next year. I hope the rest of your orders will be shipped soon! I hate having paid for something and not being able to get it until who knows when. Especially when it is something irreplaceable, so I feel your pain.

    27. A few of my AmiAmi things have started moving recently, so hopefully that is a sign of things to come. I'm excited to lay my hands on the new Man body.

    28. I got my (kind of heavy) shipment from AA on Thursday, but my camera is older than dust, so I'm still charging the battery. DX

I got a tiny shipment from Amazon (Smile), that I got with some gift cards I've completed forgotten I still had. I am so happy with both (except for the box of the Half-Age figures), that I just felt like taking crappy phone photos of both figures and sharing everywhere! (:

These I wanted since I saw their ad on YouTube, they looked so cute, I hoped I would get Bella Bubbles. They are so freaking adorable, I feel like I might get two more of the minis and maybe one of the larger ones. Despite having already gotten Bella as my first try! I'm not a fan of the super large plastic packaging, but because I doubt these will be popular, I think I better get at least a two more before they get discontinued forever (they are super adorable!).

The Bandai/Tamashii Half-Age Characters SDCC 2013 exclusive metallic set. I want the original release Sasuke, but I missed the opportunity because it came in a set of five or six (other Naruto anime) characters, I really didn't want to own. But that was a huge mistake, because now it's a pain in the gut to get him in the condition I would be willing to pay for him, let alone at all. So I got this in case I never get the original release, despite me not loving metallic versions, unless I already own the original paint version as well (but I don't, so I'll just have to deal with it).

I know double posts can be annoying as heck, so I'll just edit this one.
My April-May toy haul from left to right: Banpresto Grandista Nero Sasuke Uchiha prize figure x2; GoodSmile Nendoroid Death Note L figure; Pop Up Parade Pesona 5 Joker figure; Banpresto Vibration Stars Sasuke Uchiha Curse Mark prize figure; Banpresto Vibration Stars Itachi Uchiha prize figure x2; Squre Enix Final Fantasy VII Remake Trading Arts 5 pack figure box; Square Enix FFVII-R Cloud Strife PAK figure; Square Enix FFVII-Remake Character Sticker Sephiroth and Tseng.

I took photos of Cloud's box, so I added him in the haul, although he is a September release and arrived a few days earlier (when I posted him). Here's an extreme close up because he truly is the most beautiful one so far (IMHO). I own a few of the earlier versions, not the first version of the Remake, but the AC one and a few of the original Play Arts (w/o the Kai )by Kotobukiya. This one is probably my favorite so far, the sculpt is perfect, it would only be more beautiful if the paint apps were cleaner and the hair had been lightly painted. at the roots to add depth.

      Elisabeth Doolittle. ^^

Basically my Pullip Elisabeth in My Fair Lady Barbie clothes. I kept obsessing over the idea of seeing her in it. It's a little big but the fit isn't terrible. The feathers on her hat drive me insane because they keep failing off. I'll have to edit that.

    30. Dollxheart, beautiful Pullp! I love her red slit pupil eyes! I'm a sucker for red eyes. She looks beautiful in that Barbie dress. (:

Phanuel, beautiful shot and adorable garden critter friends! The bunny-eared rock fellows are still my favorite. n__n

Here's a small-ish haul from all over in the past year -- I got the Furyu Hikkake Vocaloid prize figures a while back, but was waiting for it to ship via less expensive way than DHL, since I paid less than 13USD for each, I didn't want to pay $40 for them to get to me. Luckily, the Japanese Post started sending unregistered Air mail, if it's in small boxes, so those two tiny figures qualified (I'll have to bother AA, to see if any of my already-paid-for-orders from them, qualify). They were shipped in a much larger box than I expected, it could have been 1/3 the size, but it was super inexpensive, so I can't complain.

From left to right: Disney Classic Doll Alice in Wonderland x2; Furyu Hatsune Miku Series: Hikkake Petite B Kaito & Len Kagamine; Top Funko Pocket Pop! Key Chain Sasuke Uchiha; Funko Pop Specialty Series Exclusive Sasuke w/Cape, no arm; Banpresto Kyun Chara Sasuke Uchiha; bottom - Furyu Noodle Stopper Prize Inuyasha figure; Diamond Select Alucard figure.

I'm not a fan of the Netflix Castlevania series, but I missed out on getting Ms. Kojima's version of Alucard by Neca, which is the one I actually want to own one day. But there's no way in h*ll I'll be paying $300 for a Neca figure. I still regret to this day never getting it when it released (I thought it was too fugly, and didn't look like Ms. Kojima's beautiful rendition of Alucard, now it's gone too high in price second market!). Alas, live and learn. I'll have to settle for the Netflix boring one -- I saw a friend of mine customize theirs into the A. Kojima one, so I thought I would get one too, in case I get brave enough to try modding it one day. DX I'm super excited with the Inuyasha NS, I hope it means they'll release a Sesshomaru one as well; I am waiting for the pre-owned one I got from AA to be shipped, to unbox one. I'll probably keep this one in box since it's new-new (got it from BIJ), but the box is not in perfect condition, so we'll see. I also finally got the last Banpresto Kyun Chara Sasuke Uchiha Ichiban Kuji figure I needed, so I'm pretty happy I finally got him too. He's just like the other Sasuke and Itachi; I'm pretty sure they all have the same exact head, just different bodies and hair, but I love them so much.

    31. @phanuel I love your photos! Caterpillar and rock bunnies, amazing!

@Enzyme wow! So much to see! Those Alice dolls are really nice! Glad to see your orders are arriving. In your previous post you showed a secret crush mini, I’ve gotten a few too! They are just so cute and unusual. I try to avoid blind bag type toys as I have really bad luck, but these are all so nice, I don’t mind.

    32. @kurogane, thanks! I'm glad some stuff is finally shipping out (less expensively) as well! Unfortunately, AmiAmi said they won't ship via unregistered Air Mail, which is really disappointing for me, but also weird because they will ship via unregistered SAL? I don't know how mass-shipping works, so maybe I shouldn't complain. DX

Those Secret Crush Mini dolls are super unique to me as well, I wish they didn't come in the kind of large hard-plastic containers; I would get all if it weren't such a huge waste of plastic (I know it can be recycled or repurpose, but why not cardboard or something less wasteful). I definitely want to get at least two more. If only there was a code on them; I really want Bebe Bear and Kristal Rox -- they are all adorable, and I wouldn't mind getting any of them like you, but duplicates of these would be a huge pain in the gut because of the huge heart container.

    33. @Enzyme I’m in total agreement about those plastic heart containers! I don’t like them at all. I only want three dolls, so ordered one a week from Amazon thinking that I would have a better chance at no duplicates. Ha! It didn’t work! I got two Tilly Twist and one Calli Cupcake, so I thought I’d try one more time and got another duplicate (Calli) so out of four, half are duplicates. Ugh, I can’t believe my poor luck with blind bags. :...(

    34. @kurogane, I have read that you can kind of tell which one is inside if you take a peek at the color of the crushable heart, through the lid, and see what bead are inside with a flash light (through the plastic). That of course would only work if you go to an actual store, but I doubt I'll be spending anytime looking for which doll is inside a package, during times like these. Maybe if they are still around when this is all over, I'll try that. Otherwise, I'll just settle for one of the larger ones, although I kind of like the mini ones better -- getting them through online stores is a sure way of getting duplicates. I was super lucky to get Bella Bubbles, it almost felt like I was having daydream -- I also have terrible luck with trading figures of any sort. (:

    43. @SteamWitch, great job on your mods and eye repaints! I'm glad you were able to find a way to complete his ear mods cleanly, they look amazing. I've never unboxed my Nendoroid, so I wouldn't have been able to give any good advice -- not knowing what type of plastic they are. Now you'll be a great source of refence if I ever need to mod the doubles I've gotten, thanks for sharing your progress photos! Your Inuyasha look super adorable in both forms, right next to each other, I'm kinda super tempted to try getting a second Inuyasha now too. lol!

@stellarphenomena, beautiful Momoko. I always love admiring them from afar. I would love to own at least one, but they are super out of my budget for fashion dolls, they are always super pretty though (hard to resist). (:

@phanuel, Yume-chan is wonderful! Her super chubby face is so nostalgic and magical at the same time, your new Miko-chan is precious. Congratulations on getting them! n__n

    44. Enzyme: I agree, I didn't love the price point for Momoko. The plastic/vinyl dolls are over priced for what you get. This applies to some of the Azone dolls I like. This one Momoko I just really wanted, and she's the only one I have. I'm really not too fond of the Momoko body, and I feel like her head is a bit disproportionately small...

JinCincy, super cool figure. I'm not familiar with Harry Potter, but even I can tell right away what license that's from. DX

      My Sephiroth statue got here a few days ago. I was a bit lazy to take photos, but I'm super in-love with this piece. I wish I could have afforded a second one, but I have too many other pre-orders. I shouldn't have gotten doubles of a few Nendo a few months back, considering Sephy is my favorite, I should have gotten doubles of him, but oh well. ^__^;;

    47. @Enzyme Your Sephy is gorgeous. If I wasn't so stuck on Kirito, my room might have been covered in Sephy figures, being my other favorite character.

    48. @SteamWitch, thank you very much! I agree, this is a gorgeous looking statue; I am very much disappointed that I didn't get a second one to unbox. I didn't think he would be so beautiful IRL, photos don't do him any justice -- although I had seen some of the actual Kuji ones on eBay, the photos don't look as amazing as he looks in person. I wish I could be like you, I have like a thousand different characters I collect, despite Sephiroth being my all time favorite character, I think he's the one I own the fewer figures of. Although, to be fair, there are not that many figures of him, as there are of Sasuke -- and recently, there's been a million different versions of prize figures based on him being released all at once! It's kind of surreal. DX

    50. These are so cute! I'm not familiar with Nendoroids. Do they have different face plates that you can swap out or is she a custom paint job? Either way, she looks great!

    52. here’s some victims of me thinking I’m going to have plenty of time and motivation and then definitely not; letting them sit —bald and crying from failed face up attempts—on my desk for nearly 2 years
[IMG] [IMG] (Although, I did finally get some synthetic hair to do their wigs and once the pandemic is over I’m planning on commissioning a friend to paint them... maybe there is hope for them yet...)
