Shoushou Doll Waiting Room!

Wow that's lovely to hear. Was it just me who emailed them early or people really love her sculpt that were doing the exact same.

 

I'm not exactly sure what those issues were, but they have posted on Instagram a short video of a Niko head being dropped on a hard floor few times (and it being completely fine), so maybe there were some breakage problems that are resolved now?

I'm selfishly happy cause I missed out on the pre-order and she's basically impossible to get second hand.

 

That's probably in part because most? people who ordered her don't have her yet. Give it another 6 months-year and she might start popping up. Either way, I hope you manage to get her

 

I was told the problem was casting the wig effectively, so I honestly wouldn't be upset if they did another run of her but just without the wig, and then your only problem is finding the wig on the second hand market if you really want it. I'm not really planning to keep mine so it's just profit to me in the end and then my friend can order their first (and grail) doll.

But yeah... Not going to find her second hand much until people actually start getting their hands on her. I saw one person selling their preorder because they needed the money for bills, but most people aren't going to want to sell until they've gotten the chance to really look at her.

 

I've been looking at the measurements and nico seems to have some weird proportions ( 17.5cm bust with 23cm hips and a 15cm waist ) anyone have an idea of where you're shopping for her? MSD is too big and MDD is too small. Her proportions kinda of fit with the dolfie dream pretty body type but it's making me nervous about fitting everything T_T

 

so the new announcement is Nico will be available but her human and unicorn legs will no longer be able to be swapped and her transparent resin is no more, and they've discontinued the wig.

I'm glad I was able to get a version with the interchangeable legs, as ordering two bodies would be a pain, but I hope they offer the new high heel feet as optional extras.

What's everyone else's thoughts?

 

I think it's great that they found a way to make her available again! I'm glad I did get in on the original round, even though none of the changes would have been a deal-breaker for me tbh, but I don't see anything wrong at all with the updated release either.

Is BJdivas the only retailer that has them? Would be nice to have something in Europe... I'm also a bit confused about the ordering period, it says it will end on February 11th and start after the Chinese New Year, but Google tells me it's 12 February so that can't be right.

 

Christina seems to have her on the website too. Maybe they mean Feb 11 at 11:59pm is the last day you can order her?

 

Why they were not released a week earlier!? I just bought a sd body and have no spare funds. Luckily it will have another preorder.

BJDdivas insisted, what they are the only western dealers. I guess, that makes Cristina a taobao shopping agent. I checked, the price she listed and it is a little less than taobao price x 0,21(her taobao fee/exchange rate).

 

BJDivas is the only dealer, and their ordering period will be different than what Shoushou's doing directly on Taobao, based on the notice from the BJDivas Facebook page ("Shoushou just informed us that Feb 11 is the final date for domestic Chinese orders, we'll have a longer ordering period, dates to be announced." is the exact quote)

 

Has anyone had any shipping notices?

 

No not yet. I ordered from BJDivas back in Sept/Oct? Not sure if you ordered through them but I know that they recently had an incident that caused flooding at their location. There is also a massive storm that effected almost the entire US.

 

I ordered a Gouhuai head back in mid July and I still don't have a shipping notice. Idk how long Shoushou's wait periods usually are, but I know Covid in general was causing delays and now the storm.

 

I ordered a Goudan in July through Divas that I also haven't heard about. I don't necessarily expect him yet, seeing as I also haven't gotten my May Arc Doll order and Arc Doll and Shoushou seem to be related companies.

 

I still haven't gotten any notice on my first Niko either. I ordered her May, and the second July.

I'm super anxious, and have been quietly following BJDiva's news and wishing the best for them.
Here's hoping that I'll hear about her soon!

 

The good news is that we at least didn't get any heavy snow or ice up this way (I hope everyone to the south is doing okay!), just bitter cold, so that's one thing that didn't slam them. But they can definitely use patience and good wishes right now. I've still got a few months to go on my layaway (I did a very long one because Niko was absolutely not in my plans at the time), but it sounds like at least incoming stuff will still be going okay so hopefully that's the case and they can get back into a rhythm again.

 

Joining the discussion; still waiting on Niko from the first order back last February so it's been over a year. Ordered through BJDdivas as well, and I'm aware of all the problems they've had recently due to the flooding in their building as well as COVID and production on Shoushoudoll's side so I understand the wait will be awhile. Also waiting on Gouhai and Zilang which are all from Shoushou/Arc doll.

 

Is anyone looking to sell the Nico unicorn horn separately? I was not aware that, despite ordering the optional human parts, the optional other two heads and choosing the fantasy version that the HUMAN doll came with the fantasy part unicorn horn :\

Willing to trade for the transparent horns.

 

Despite the horror stories in this thread, I decided to order Doudou from cloversinging. Christina says the wait times through them are 5-6 months, so we will see I guess. I hope all of you get your Niko's soon

Not yet. I'm still waiting on my Shoushou Goudan. And Niko, but she was ordered after him.

Hello all, I hope its okay to post a question here because I'm unable to find any other discussion thread.
For ShouShou Niko, is it true that she came in a tan resin option from the first Chinese order period? I have seen a few floating around and I'm completely in love, but I want to make sure what I'm looking at is authentic.
Additionally, I have seen a lot of photos, even from ShouShou themselves, where the resin fantasy parts are not transparent, but instead the same color as the resin. Did this happen with certain orders?

 

I'm pretty sure there was a tan option but only for those who ordered on toabao? As for the resin for the animal parts most pictures I've seen have been transparent. I think the ones that aren't were a trial cast, and any orders in the future will not have the transparent parts.

 

Thank you for the reply @Kiotaro! I was able to confirm the fantasy parts as the same color as the doll for a few others, even in some of ShouShou doll's photos. I wonder if they were difficult to cast too. The tan girl I found has her box and CoA so I am super excited, she was purchased from the initial TaoBao run!

 

According to the updates for new order periods from BJDivas, the new orders of Niko won't have the transparent parts anymore, since they were difficult to cast: Log into Facebook

 

It's really interesting to think that they started out as not being transparent, then they gave it a try, then stopped again. I can imagine that resin is really difficult to work with!

I suppose I'm in the second-hand waiting room now, so I will excuse myself. But thank you all who helped answer my questions!

 

Im still waiting for my head i ordered in July. Has anyone heard if there is any kind of update of when they will ship. I bought 2 dolls on 4 month layaway and i have gotten both of them.

Wait times are around 6 months+ but there are some delays with some previous orders from last year. (Casting Nikos)

Yeah... I've been waiting almost 9 months for my Goudan

 

I ordered a Niko last year on April 20th through BJDivas and I received it a few days ago. So I almost waited a whole year before I got her if that helps anyone.

Did they send you any notification? I ordered mine in Feb last year through the divas and still haven't received her.

 

I actually emailed them first asking about it and then they verified my address and shipped it out.

 

Given the flood situation BJDivas has been dealing with, I wouldn't be surprised if they have a bunch of dolls waiting to go home that they simply haven't been able to pack out and label. Over in another waiting room, I was lucky to have gotten shipping notice from them just before they had to move units, while other folks found out their orders were in from the same batch but had to be located after all the shuffling of stuff from the emergency.

 

I see. I haven't wanted to bother them since they've been having so much going on. I'll go ahead and shoot them an email after all. Thanks!

Second, for those waiting on Shoushou Doll Niko orders, as of today Shoushou has gotten all the dolls ordered in 2020 through us to the transportation company. However, there is unfortunately still some time before they'll be ready to be sent home, as the transport company needs to check through the shipping contents. An issue has already risen at this step that will cause significant delays down the line: the transport company told Shoushou that while they won't discard the shipping boxes, they can't guarantee that every doll is put back into the original shipping box. This is problematic because Shoushou originally labeled every shipping box with the interior contents, but for their own efficiency, the transport company removes all the boxes, checks the contents, and puts everything back in without paying attention to which box goes with which doll. When we receive the dolls, in addition to checking each for damage and production quality issues, we'll have to basically sort out a bunch of unlabeled dolls. The process of checking prior to this recent information from the transport company was expected to be arduous, as there are over 150 dolls, and this will add significantly more time.

The high number of dolls also means that the transport company will need some time to check everything. It's estimated 2 weeks - 1 month for them to finish this process. After that, they will send the dolls, it is unknown how long figuring out the logistics of sending so many dolls will take, but we estimate that they'll have to send around 30 boxes.​

No need to apologize, lol. Just means we're both excited Yeah, I ordered Goudan about a month before Niko. He's PIF, so as soon as he reaches Divas he can come home. Niko is on layaway for a few more months so I'm having an easier time waiting for her.

 

Sucks about the box thing though, why is it more efficient to take all of them out of the boxes and then put them back in, wouldn't it take as much time to take everything out of one box and then put it back into the same one?? They're just making a ton more work for everyone by doing this : \

 

Oh goodness, I sure don't envy them that process! I'm getting close to the end of my layaway, probably enough that they can sort of not rush my order (which is probably unique in the group so it'll come up when it comes up), but also that I could pay it off the rest of the way when they let me know she's ready.

I'm kinda really annoyed about that update. Hopefully no one's pieces got lost or just straight up broken during that process

Big props to BJDivas for dealing with the aftermath, and poor ShouShouDolls for having to do all the work only for the transport company to throw all that out the window.

 

I also ordered from BJDivas in March and I’m so hoping that I’ll get notified soon. That sucks about the shipping boxes.

 

BJDivas made an update saying they paid for shipping all the Nikos (from SSD to them).

If I'm lucky I'll get the notification mid June and she'll be here for my birthday July 3rd, considering she was a birthday present that would be hilarious lol. I don't mind if they take their time though, sounds like they're going to have a lot of work to do once they get there.

 

I still have two more payments on mine, let's see if I pay her off early or just in time (and agreed, that shipping cost was painful!)
