@mydaffer That looks so adorable on your other girl…for sure, like it was made specifically for her! It’s awesome it worked out so well, even if it turned out to be more suited to someone else. And I’ve finished my “ underwear used as outer wear”…2 pairs of mixed-pattern bloomers for my MSD boys. And that’s more fabric used up! I’m getting there folks! I had so much fun making these, I’m thinking of making another pair in a different fabric for one of my SD girls.
I still have poor Fern sitting in a little chair under a pile of her clothes and fabric pieces, so I'm rolling over my plans from last round since I typically keep my tinies in comfywear anyway! Play clothes is still the goal. I've settled on using Lomi's LTF jeans pattern as the base for the overalls I plan to make, possibly with another pair of actual pants if I can. I'm going to a crafting hangout tonight so my goal is to get the pieces cut out and go from there, as the task starting inertia is starting to build up and I'm hoping to overcome it before this becomes another year-long project like the floral sets did for my circus kids lol. Refresher on my model and fabric, from last round: Round 145 Basics, Fern overalls! by Jules B, on Flickr If I end up having enough, I've got a scrap of a nice royal blue that will be basic pants as well.
@PoeticSoul Those bloomers are awesome. That pattern works great for them. Your little boy looks adorable in them! @Mamo I love making play clothes for the little ones. She looks very excited to be waiting for a new outfit. I love the delicate print!
Thank you for the kind comment, even though it was a bomb of a try it did turn out quite cute and really, my Laia is loving it. I love that all the garments you make all match so perfectly. These are adorable, they fit so nicely. ❤️ I can’t get over how adorable she is and look forward to seeing her all dolled up in overalls, that material is so pretty for her. ❤️
Keeping my fingers crossed for you! The overalls sound cute. I've just remembered that (somewhere!!!) I have a set of Victorian style nightdresses cut-out and ready to sew, from a previous round (some years ago, probably). Since my plans to go to the UK BJD Convention this weekend have fallen through (our poor driver is injured so can't drive for the next month!!) I MIGHT actually get around to doing something this month. Teddy
And I’m finally done for the month…making bloomers, which are so much fun to make. I made these with some fabric and lace I got for Mother’s Day. They’re made to be part of a Lolita ensemble I have planned, but clearly they can just as easily be worn as outer wear for a fun and funky vibe.
@PoeticSoul I love these bloomers! That must have took a lot of work with all those layers on the legs, but the finished project is amazing. It really goes well with the hat.
A veritable work of art. I found the packet of pieces I cut for nightgowns for a previous itteration of this round and made a start on piecing them together, but haven't got very far (as usual). I wil be away at a Jodi Taylor convention from Tomorrow through Mondayt, so I probably won;t get any further wit h them this month (tonight I have Regency Dance class, so no sewing time before I leave (especially since I have yet to pack and would mlike a chance to dye my roots beofre heading to the con). Teddy
Those are so adorable on her! I absolutely love them, what a cool idea for all the ruffles of lace at the bottom and the color is perfect! ❤️
Thank you everyone for your lovely comments…you’re so kind! And Teddy, I love hearing about your exploits. You live such an interesting life, your innocent little tidbits dropped in passing always make me smile.
Round 146 pants pinned by Jules B, on Flickr I've got the sides on the tester pants sewn up, just the waistband, hemming, and any details I decide on left to go. I done goofed and sewed the pocket opening sides together as the crotch and didn't realize until after I'd done it, so the waistband is extra tall to counter that. Summer (or really in Florida terms, Summer Junior, because real summer will be far worse) is here and the heat is sapping my energy so I haven't done much else, but that worked out in my favor - mistakes made in this tester pair can be avoided for the overalls, lol.
Those already look super adorable on her, even if they are testers! I agree about the heat, draining and not even summer!
It's so easy to do! I once cut out a tunic for a friend's daughter, and another friend was helping sew it together but mistook the armholes for the neckline... It's more that I take on far more than is reasonable in the amount of time available and am in a cosntant stte of disorganisation as a result. As I expected, I had no time to work on dolls clothes while I was away at the convention, so my pile of nightgown pieces is now a pile of partially sewn pieces. Teddy
The pants are done! I'm happy with how they turned out, I went for white buttons to match the white seams and hem. I then took her on a little adventure outside to test them out, this mango tree has taken many a doll photo thanks to this perfectly-placed branch lol. Round 146 pants! by Jules B, on Flickr I've been accepted to table at another upcoming event so artsy time will be spent crocheting for a bit until I need a sanity break, so overalls will just have to be deferred again lmfao! At least the fabric is ironed, that's a step I rarely get done to begin with.
@Mamo I also love the contrast of those white buttons on the blue! Your girl looks adorable in her new pants and hanging out in that tree with her cute pants and sneakers and pigtails gives her a delightful tomboy vibe.
Everyone's projects are looking so amazing! I took a week off from sewing after banging out my project so quickly, and I ended up making a play clothes outfit for my DearMine Demian, since he only had his fancy original full set outfit. Both top and bottom patterns were modified from Ithilear, same as the set I made earlier.
Cute pants, love how the outfit coordinates in colors so well! Wow was those hard to make? They look perfect. Did you have too hand sew? Such small clothes, well done!
And our latest round is up. Come join us for “unfinished business”. /threads/sewing-project-unfinished-business-round-147.888160/
The pants were pretty easy. The shirt collar was... Not. I decided to try a second shirt (not finished yet) with the same collar, and I think I've given myself like eight serious needle stabs between the two of them. They are indeed fully hand-sewn; my machine is currently out of commission
Sorry for checking in late. I went to a music festival last weekend and there is still a lot of catching up to do here at home after that. And on top of that I've managed to catch a cold. But everyone did such an amazing job this month. Thank you everybody for sharing your work. See you in the next round.
This is so adorable and comfy looking!!! How did I miss this post. He is so cute!! I just can't get over how sweet he looks in his relaxed little clothes!
I am terribly late and am sorry, but despite getting distracted by faceup, shoe-, bag- and wig-making, beading and RL, I did finish the outfit at the end of May. I took pictures a couple days later and then went travelling with no chance to transfer them from my camera until yesterday So, once more in the spirit of better late than never, here is Amadis in her new comfy clothes: comfy spring - finished by helgie, on Flickr The trousers are wiiiiide, there is just so much of them And I love what everyone came up with this round. Cuteness abounds!
Wow that is so adorable on her, I love the colors and design, what a perfect outfit for her! Well done! ❤️
Oh wow! That Amadis is so amazing, with an incredible wardrobe of fascinating styles. I love this…it’s so comfy looking yet super stylish, pretty and unique. Well done!
