Such lovely clothes! And those mouse pajamas? Adorable! I did some simpler sewing for this round thus far - I made up a couple pairs of underwear from a RADollclothes pattern. They're fantastic quick projects, I handsew them entirely and it's just like, hem leg holes, sew side seams, make elastic casing, add elastic. And boom, dolly butts covered. Spoiler: Dolly Butts + Underwear
@helgie she looks so cozy!!! A luxurious winter @Alamentine I love it, a whole wardrobe in just a few weeks! Incredible work @JaxxCapta gotta keep them butts holstered lmao, and the photo looks like two comfy models in a catalog photoshoot haha! I haven't made any progress yet because I can't find any of my pattern tracing utensils, but if I must I'll figure something out to get this started lol. If not, I'll use my old standby strategy and hammer out a quick elastic rectangle skirt.
I love checking in and seeing all the progress! Once again, everyone's projects are coming together so nicely!
I got my pattern pieces cut! The bodice is too big out from the center to account for the actual pattern going missing. I laid out the pattern piece for the blouse underneath it and just sort of guessed based on that, with plenty of wiggle room to decide best dart placement and the shaping of the top hem. I'm very pleased! Round 129 Pieces ready! by Jules B, on Flickr
@Mamo That fabric is so sweet! And I agree that the little ruffle on the straps is a wonderful touch. I’m really looking forward to seeing how your girl looks in this.
Finished my comfy outfit for Tyche. I don't love the fit of the angakar/dress, but she does look more comfortable in it than the slightly too small shirt she had previously. I found her a wig I like better than the one she came with since I last posted too. Finished Comfy Outfit
I admittedly forgot about this project and then got sidetracked by the holidays. Just today I finally remembered to work on it, when a family member asked me to get out the sewing machine to hem some pants for them. I got a tiny bit of work done on the doll dress, but my bobbin ran out of thread in the middle of hemming the skirt piece -- which forced me to discover that the auto-winding mechanism thing on my machine is apparently broken. I hand-wound the bobbin in the end after being unable to find a solution to the machine's issue. It gave me a hand cramp so I'll probably return to the dress tomorrow. It's very simple (pretty much only two pieces) so I don't think it will take me long. Here's the miniscule amount of progress I did get through: about half a hem. You can see where the bobbin ran out of thread and I didn't notice lol
While these PJs were kind of a last minute project, I am actually really proud of how they turned out! The shirt was supposed to fit Mags (Fairy Castle Puff MSD) but due to user error with the seams allowances, it ended up fitting Blair (Myou Doll Bettina Mature Tiny). Once I had the shirt, I couldn't help but make some pants to complete the outfit. I used the Requim Arts Desing Basics for the shirt and for the construction of the pants. I drafted the pants myself using that amazing Lomi's Playground pants drafting video. even the back doesn't look half bad The collar is not supposed to stand up, but hey, this was my first time making a shirt with a collar and sleeves. I hid the really uneven hem of the shirt bottom under her pants I'd say this was a success!
@ashefaust I'm very impressed by your patience to hand-wind, that's a feat! Good luck with the rest of the hemming! @QuaintMysteryDolls what an adorable set! She looks ready to lounge around after a cozy breakfast and enjoy a good book!
@QuaintMysteryDolls Oh well done! She certainly looks ready to spend the day lounging around the house in her stylish new jammies. So cozy!
So... This is super late but I got this far on December 17th and I've just been to busy to post w/ traveling n' all that. image link I want to add black ribbon to the sleeve lace too but besides that it's basically done! Two things I'd do differently in the future... 1. Actually test dye a tiny chunk of lace before I get silly and dunk half of it in there...because it ended up pink 2. Gather and THEEEEN sew it to the lace...why did I not do that we may never know...
@Eggenthusiast Oh my, that is so-o-o-o sweet! And your girl looks absolutely precious in it too. I love all the little details: the pintucks, the ruffle, the lace. Well done!
