I've been lurking, delighted by everyone's progress and making very little of my own. At least the under-dress is done: Bohemian progress 2 by helgie, on Flickr It can definitely be worn separately, but I still hope to make the over-dress, see how the skirts look and maybe add some embroidery.
@helgie Oooh…that’s so lovely! Your girl looks gorgeous in it just as it is, and it’s a lovely style. I hope you can manage to get the overdress done because that will certainly increase this outfit’s versatility, which is always a plus. Regardless, you’ve done a great job!
Bohemian friends! The left outfit is made by Lillith (I added a necklace). The right outfit made by me. The top is sewed by Lillith and painted by me.
I am finally free from shoe purgatory. I'm glad to be done with them... I'm not entirely pleased with how they turned out, but it went pretty well for a learning exercise/test pair! I adjusted the pattern a bunch, that'll hopefully help any future pairs I make for him. I guess I technically have a few days left if I wanted to try making the vest, actually get some use out of the pillowcase fabric that inspired the whole project to begin with. We'll see how I feel! Finally finished with shoes! by Jules B, on Flickr My desk is absolutely covered in doll junk because I have been kinda swamped with Various Things IRL, and these projects have been a nice reprieve from thinking about all the tomfoolery inherent in, y'know, life I guess. So apologies for the chaos (aka the mess), but it was exciting for me to finally be able to stand him up fully dressed! Spoiler: messy outfit shot Finally finished with shoes! by Jules B, on Flickr
Excellent! If you want to feel better about your mess - it looks positively tidy compared to my worktable (The current state of my cutting table in the sewing room) Nice to see how well the whole outfit came together Teddy
@JennyM What wonderful outfits you and Lillith did this round! And they look so good together…BFFs from way back in the day. They’re truly fab! @Mamo Oh well done! This boy takes comfy boho to the next level. @Mamo and @Teddy Ah, the delightful chaos of the busy doll collector! Gotta love it!
And now it’s time for our newest round: /threads/sewing-project-science-fiction-fantasy-cosplay-round-109.854761/
Sorry, I haven't been around for the end of the round. I lost my best friend. I am happy I logged into tonight though. Everyone's end results look so lovely and has brought a smile to my face. I think I may like to participate in the next round. @helgie That is a beautiful dress. @JennyM & @Lillith it was so nice to watch your progress. Those outfits came out fantastic. What a nice job on the top. @Mamo Good job on those shoes. They look good. I did end up making some jewelry to go with the last outfit I made but that is where I ended up stopping.
@nekoKaori I'm so sorry to hear that, take all the time you need and don't be afraid to think about other things for a while, like sewing and dollies. Your outfit and accessories make such a beautiful completed look, they're wonderful. I think the bracelets are my favorite.
As is usual, I'm late finishing. I'm loving everyone's boho projects for this month! There's so much creative talent in this group! I managed to complete a dress for Mela, but no accessories. I'd planned for a colourful sash/belt for the dress, and perhaps a hat and bag. It also needs a slip or under dress. However, I'll save those for another round.
@nekoKaori So very sorry for your loss. I agree with the others, please remember to take time for yourself during this difficult time. Sending you a virtual hug. And that jewelry is such a perfect touch! Talk about nailing the Bohemian look…this entire outfit is totally fab! @Aeilia Gotta love that tie dye look. I love the colors and pattern, and it looks gorgeous on your girl!
Thanks so much @PoeticSoul and @Mamo for your kind words! It was the material from hell to work with, so I'm glad to be done and that it turned out ok. It doesn't quite fulfill the vision I had, but the fabric and pattern determined the end result.
