well, the sadness is over
I used a very fine "rub paper" all over the part of the body which had yelloved so much and it's all gone, it's as white as the other part, and no more difference between the arms and the new hands ! I'm dreaming lol
To morrow I will spray the body and all the hands with MSC, I should have done it long before !
Yes, i wanted to take a photo, but it's evening right now and the light make it shining a little too .

Yes I could, but as I have been working on another project for it since, well I will keep it, I have sent my Rabbit head to be customized as a rabbit girl and no more as a "little me" of Rudolf (he will get a little me one day anyway, but less expensive one).
By now, I am ok again to order more legs because I know it will be fine, I believe the MSC will protect it from yellowing again, and any way, with this wonderful paper rub (I do not know the real name for it, could it be extra fine sand paper?) I will just have to sand it once more and spray MSC.
I will take a photo this afternoon if not too dark (raining like mad here in Paris) and you will see the colors are by now perfect match

 

Just remembered to check my order from Serenade and the status already says shipped! That's so fast part of me is a bit sceptical, but if it's true it's amazing! Now I kinda wish I hadn't checked because now I'm expecting her to arrive and time will drag on slower :P I better start thinking about wigs!

 

If you ordered directly to Serenade, they send very fast and it only took a week to arrive in France, they are great !

The seller from eBay to who I bought a DF young boy body wrote to me that they can't find it, so I have asked for her to change my order (already paid) for two pairs of Serenade legs and probably some more hands, even thought I have already a few
Still did not receive my rabbit head from the face up artist, I want to see her new face !!!

 

That's awesome! She was shipped on the 30th so hopefully she'll arrive this week.

Yes this company is really good ! they even let me have special shoes with silk velvet, little real diamonds and mother of pearls because they had made a mistake with my address (forgot to write my city lol), those shoes ARE TREASURE !!! also those beautiful hands, and having high heels will allow me to use those beautiful shoes too
But if you ordered white skin, be careful and use MSD because mine had yellowed (no MSC) however I could sand the doll and it matches totally the new hands by now
My rabbit is into the hands of a well known french artist and she has so many orders, I do not know when she will make mine, let's hope before summer lol

 

Those shoes sound amazing! I think I ordered normal skin, I have so many white skin dolls on order that I wanted to have a bit of variety.
Looks like the website updated prematurely and she was actually shipped on Tuesday. Now to wait and see what happens at UK customs. Fingers crossed she gets through quickly :3

Here my sweet Armania, photo is from the artist, she is to receive long white upper eylashes, and with her ligh blue eyes, will be my dream come truth !

Do you know Ray Caesar ? Lots of bjd makers and artist did copy his ideas : for example, doll château took his idea of spider legs to make their owns, also many faces comes from Ray's painting, wigs too, Victorian furnitures etc. etc
He did make a chair with "human legs" I think, not sure but probably

Hey guys! Can anyone recommend good clothing companies/clothes sizes for these dolls? I bought some clothes from Serenade Dolls themselves but it doesn't give me a whole lot of variety. I'd really like more top options and the more I look, the more discouraged I feel.

 

Yes I feel this way too, I bought nearly all their stuff, but it's all the same style.
What I did is that I used the top of their underwear, which is really nice and well made to make a long dress, but for the rest, I use my SD clothes and make some adjustments, I have not found yet any clothes all ready made which can be ok for the Serenade body, Pashapasha could be interesting but is only 53 cm.

 

So, now that Armania has her rabbit's head coming soon, her body is starting to get ready : here her two chairs : the Art deco one from Serenade and a 19th century "chair" (in fact made to present the wedding crown".).




I am to remove probably some of the golden deco, may be like here (photoshop) :

I hate to say but I'm glad I'm not the only person struggling with clothes. As a test I bought a MSD shirt from dollmore to see how it would fit my Suu. The length is good, albeit a little short (which is ok because I have no problem with her midriff showing), but the shape is boxy and really takes away from her beautiful curves. I think it would be easy to take in if I knew anything about modifying clothes. I was really, really hoping minifee tops/dresses might fit her since, believe it or not, the minifee active line bodies have the same shoe size. The boots I got from Serenade fit both her and my minifee along with some heels I bought off ebay. Alas that's where the similarities end.

 

Cat Grenade, if you'r interested, just keep a look on eBay France, one may found some from time to time, even thought I got mine from the flee market
About the clothes, have you try PashaPasha ? or even try on Etsy to ask some cloth makers if they would make for a serenade body ? I did that and I am waiting for the answer from italia (she makes beautiful corsets) it 's easy to make a dress once you have the top (corset). About the shoes, well all what Armania can ware right now is her Serenade boots because her precious serenade shoes need high heel and I will not get any before March, so I am to custom my two paires of serenade resine shoes during that time

 

@Abell Ooo I may check into that! I'll also look into PashaPasha. I have looked on Etsy at the couple of people who offer Serenade clothes and was considering commissions. My issue is my doll is supposed to be a specific character and the standard prim/proper lady aesthetic doesn't fit her. I really want suits instead of dresses, which no one really makes. I have no doubts your custom shoes will be beautiful, and hope you will share pictures once you receive them.

 

sorry for my English, but what do you mean by "suits" is it a vest and pantaloon ? because I bought the black suits made by Serenade, they are beautifully made really, but ... hard to make the girl sit with those black pants on !
yes that's right,no much artists propose suits because it's much harder to make !
Do you want me to take a photo of Armania's body with her elegant black suit ? it looks very haute couture, but you can always custumise it ?

 

@Abell Yes, that's what I'm talking about. I do have the Serenade black suit, but have the same problem with it. I love how ornate it is, but I hate how she can only stand while wearing it. I may try to customize the jacket somewhat, but I have nothing for her to wear underneath the jacket besides the lingerie. If I could get a white button dress shirt for her to wear, that would be ideal. I saw PashaPasha sells one but I think they're sold out.

 

lol yes this suit is beautiful as long as she stands up, I am also myself thinking about making some change, not to the vest which is perfect for me, but to the pants : I am thinking about undoing the sew of the back and put a fine black streching fabric so she will be able to sit without any more problem. In fact we have the same problem with all her pants, only the leggins are ok, all the others are ok as long as she does not sit ^^ I exactly had the same problem with my Blossom Molly : she could hardly sit because her short pants (black silk) were too tight, and there were made by Blossom themselves, so it seems they do not try all the poses when making clothes for their dolls.

You can always ask sasha as he does his clothing on order. I like the red hat but my rabbit can't have his ears removed, so I have problems with hats .. I might have them remooved and put a magnet, but not right now, too scary ^^
By the way, you would have to remove the sleeves to be able to use the Serenade jacket with it, don't you think ?

My girl is in customs and I'm waiting on the letter to see how much I'll need to pay :< the wait is killing me!

 

It's not because it is the customs that you might have to pay : all the items coming from foreign countries goes to costoms, but most of the time they do not ask any fees. Same for FRANCE, mine went into customs but I had nothing topay, keep hope

 

Sadly the tracking has updated saying customs charges have been raised. At least it should mean she gets to me by the end of the week if I recieve the letter tomorrow

I managed to pick my girl up on Saturday! I don't have any good photos yet because I'm still painting up her legs and will probably have a look at body blushing and maybe tattoos, but I think she still looks pretty cute. The wig I bought for her is not the right shape at all so I had to be a bit creative to try to get it to look decent. Can't wait to see what she looks like with those beautiful mechanical legs!

I could write a novel with my Rabbit Armania story, really !!!
Now that I thought that every thing was fine, the customized head will be here in few days, etc..
GUESS WHAT HAS HAPPENED ?
I had ordered from Serenade seller on eBay 6 pairs of legs : two for Armania, and 4 very high heels to make a chair with it.
AND I HAVE RECEIVED A YOUNG DOLL FAMILY-A WHITE BODY INSTEAD !!!!
The seller said 'we are very sorry, it's our fault, to send it back to China is too expensive, so just keep it" !!!! BUT THEY DO NOT SPEAK AOUT MY LEGS THAT I PAYED FOR ANY MORE !!! and to use PayPal protection is useless as I would have to pay the enormous postal fees to send it back
WHAT CAN I DO WITH THAT BODY ??? I HAVE NOT HEAD FOR IT !
Also, if I try to sell it here, nobody will be interested because it's quite expensive to sell it and send it to other countries, just to send it to the States would be 70$ who would pay so much postal fees for such body which is sold only 245$ on eBay plus 48$ postal fees by the same seller ?
If I was not so much in love with Armania, I would give up and let it go, really tired of all those problems, also I do not see any serenade customized rabbit head here or on flickR, am I the only one to have fall in love with that rabbit head ?
Oh, well, I have never pretended to be normal

 

Oh @Abell! That's terrible! Surely they have to send you the legs you bought, I hope they mean that they will send those too as well as that body, if that's what you paid for :<

Thank you for the compliments. I love the Serenade clothes, they're what I would love to wear myself. Not sure if they'll fit her character when I've painted her extra parts but everyone needs some casual clothes .

Well, as you know, paypal is ok to send back the items which are not what we bought, but they do not make the seller pay for the postal fees, so I just can't do nothing ! I did put this body on eBay France, (postal fees are lot lower for France to france) but till now, only watchers, no more and I only gave as starting price what I need to REPAY for some Serenade legs, but this time for sure I will ask Serenade Cie to send it to me because I know how serious they are.
However, I am going to wait, because they are telling us about a new head coming and may be, if she is really interesting, I might have it too
I had the same thought as you, those casual clothes do not fit Armania character, but, as you say, every one needs some casual clothes too (and I would love them for me also lol)...

Did you make the face up youself ? I also plan to add some white mohair hair on the top she is an albinos but very probably with blue yes, will have to try both before deciding

Yes, I did the faceup myself. He just has tufts of hair on either side, like sideburns. He is a rough and tough no nonsense rabbit, one of my shapeshifter's forms. @VampireAngel13 has one too but I haven't seen if it has a faceup yet.

 

Did you take his human ears off ? I did kept hers, I was not really sure first, then, decided it was a plus
We will have to make a photo story between them too one day lol

She looks fantastic with this hat !!! the reason why I kept the human ears is that I need them when she will ware, from time to time, her long Serenade black wig .
I have been thinlkng about taking the rabbit ears off and use magnets to put them on, but too scared to do it yet ...

And I just love her !!! she is as much a sweet country girl (lol that's because of the only back ground I have left) than xatshe's is a sophisticated mega city one
Well, I am to have to blush her body because the difference in the skin is much too obvious

To make her feel better, I took a photo of her with the brand new black Serenade underwears and that special gift she has got this morning : a red diamond from her Charming Prince which will come back one day

Thanks xatshe yes she is really cute, and what I can say is that she has a LOT of presence, really. What I appreciate with this rabbit mold is that one can make many different characters with it, see how different the three shown here are. Very good sculpt.
By now, I am looking for a wolf head, white wolf of course, to become her boyfriend, but that a very hard head to find, one has been sold here, helps it's gone

I was waiting for Aspara head to decide which human head I will have but by now, we can see she has sleeping eyes, so I did order yesterday a Suu head as human head, this is because of xatshe beautiful photos lol
I should get it in three weeks, so just wait and see
I would have love to see Aspara's profile thought, because it's not that difficult to have the sleeping eyes opened by some artist. There is a girl on FlickR who makes beautiful modifications, she can even make sleeping eyes from open eyes !!!

I do not know which of your two heads I like the most !
Right now, mine will be a "cold haute couture mannequin" so very impersonal, it's for an article on bjd, she will present the black Serenade suit (St Laurent style) and the Jean Paul Gaultier weddind dress here under.
My plan is to buy a second suu head and have her with the make up I want.
Right now, I have juts finished my Marmite doll layaway and starts another one for Venus in a few weeks, and Serenade postal fees are so hight, I might have to wait because the make up will be done by Matahata, so twice psotal fees plus price of the head and face up …

Hello! Joining in on this forum. I recently added serenade doll to my bjd plan list. Here's my plan.... Lotus winking mod. I'm planning on modding Lotus (the sleeping head) into a winking head. And Charlotte FtM. However, I'm still unsure if I should buy them or not, since there's such little variety of clothing. There's limited amount of clothing for Serenade doll to begin with. Male Charlotte would be very difficult to find clothes for.

 

well, you will not be desapointed by getting a Serenade, their are so special and attractive !
My Suu sp head arrived about a month ago and I was so stonned by her beauty !!! she is now into Ursi place to get special luxurious lingerie, I love having her dressed as a model.
You can always find some modelist to make for you the kind of clothing you like, it's what I do, also it's often no more expensive than some from the big companies, so ..

 

Suu has arrived few weeks ago, and she is absolutely beautiful, I just could not get my eyes away from her so mysterious look, she has already received her blushing and is now at the modeliste's place (Ursi in Poland) to get a special set of luxurious lingerie.
If it had not been you, I would never have choosen her, thanks so much, I am so attracted by her that I am to buy a second Suu head soon, to get a different face blush, more original ))
