Where do you find clothes and shoes that fit these girls/guys? I've gone thru my dolly closets, and I'm having a time finding things that don't fall of her thin frame. Eloise is livid that i don't have a proper wardrobe for her...lol

Your Eloise has more clothes than my boys do! I have one pair of pants that don't fit right (made for Lati Yellow?), and the rest I made myself. Finding things that fit has been more miss than hit for me.

 

I've raided the Lati's closet and the Middie's closet too. It's hit or miss there.
The only thing she has of her own (so far), is her Super Girl outfit...lol

Love your Eloise in her super hero costume, LadyCrow! She looks so cute and leave it to a Person to add a crown! With regard to clothes, I don't have much for mine, either. What little they have are clothes made for either Lati yellow or Middie Blythe.


Your boy looks so cute playing with his Star Wars toys, icicle! I'm always amazed by all the fabulous little things Person owners find for their Persons and those Star War toys are especially great!

 

Thanks Cattwo and aernath! We have all sizes of Star Wars toys here -- vintage 3", new black 6", and micro too. Oliver is basically my DH as a boy so there was a clear directive



Lady Crow -- I usually get my wardrobes from Spampy who does custom stuff that fits Persons perfectly. Sometimes you can find things from feltland, ican'tdance and nettlefromspace on Etsy as well. For shoes, try Only Hearts Club and Gotall/Blythe.

 

He's adorable!!! I love his toys, and so does Eloise!! She's searching for some of her own. Not that there isn't plenty of toys here. She just wants her own toys. She's not much on sharing.

I love seeing all the photos of the super cute secretdoll. What is a favorite secretdoll? I'm really new to BJD and so far, I've owned a pet ari pig and I had a secretdoll 8. I ended up selling her....now I'm really sad about it. I'm trying to decide what my next BJD purchase will be...I'd prefer to do $300 or less, so I'm thinking of another secretdoll.
What are some places with decent prices to purchase wigs? eyes?

I'm partial to 21s but I have 08s too and I'm hoping to add the right 04. The face-ups, especially on the Limiteds, can dramatically change the basic sculpt and they've introduced eye change options in 08 (Big Eye) and 21(Narrow Eye) just to vary it up a bit.

For eyes, affordable decent glass can be found on ebay -- I like 8 or 10 mm for a smaller look, 12mm to 14mm for the 'huge pupil' Secretdoll look -- but even the basics come with the SD paperclay eyes unless you buy secondhand.

For wigs, I have good luck with standard 6/7 YoSd sizes. I have an AngellStudios bob and flip-do that both fit perfectly -- Mint on Card carries AS wigs for less than $20 -- but most of my crew have fullset wigs. With such a big head, you kinda have to watch the poof factor...

If you like vintage/retro, Secretdoll's facebook page teased a few 60's/mod/70's ideas for their next Limited release. I can't wait for those.

 

I really appreciate being pointed in the right direction for wigs and eye sizes. Being that I'm new, I feel a bit silly, but I don't even know how difficult it is to change the eyes out.

I love, love, vintage/retro! I can't wait to see what is being released. How difficult is it to get a limited addition? Do they cost quite a bit more than the regular with factory face-up?

 

Welcome to the thread, kcoconuts! Everyone starts out by being new to the hobby, but you'll catch on quick, especially since you've had a Person before. With regard to changing the eyes, I've actually never changed out the eyes on my Persons, but I've done it with all my other bjds, including even tinier dolls than Persons. It's usually a fairly easy thing. Just get yourself some silicone putty - like Mack's earplugs. You can use that to keep them stuck in position.

It's not hard at all to get a limited edition. There is always an ordering period given, in which anyone can order the dolls. I think it's usually a month long. Since they do cost a little more than the regular editions and their special outfits are offered at an additional cost, if you find yourself in love with one but can't afford to pay all at once, you can choose to do a layaway. If you check the site, under questions, you'll see a post about layaway and what is required. It can be a bit tricky navigating Secretdoll's checkout for the first time, so if you ever have any questions, feel free to ask.

 

Welcome kcoconuts!! I'm new to Secretdoll persons too. Eloise had has me, about a week. I adore her snarky attitude and can't imagine life without her now. She keeps me on my toes, which can be a good thing (so she tells me)...lol

heh heh My first boy was the 17 too! From the 2014 winter event. But then the 21 from the very next release stole my heart, and I think I may like the 21 just a teeny bit more! Don't tell my 17 that though!

I think it's pretty easy to change out the eyes. The headcap comes right off - it's held on with magnets. It's easier if you go ahead and take the whole head off, so you don't have to work around the s-hook, but it's not necessary.
I use kneaded eraser to hold the eyes in. It's cheap and easy to get here. And it's not greasy.
I don't know about wigs - I have kept the ones my boys came with. They come with a silicone wig cap too, but it doesn't quite fit right because the heads are a funny shape. They work, but they do tend to slip off sometimes. At least mine do. I'm thinking about swirling some hot glue on their heads and using that instead. We'll see. I rarely get motivated these days. lol

Haha! Somehow I didn't realize that you could scroll down a see past releases. Ok, so I'm super excited, I purchased a limited edition girl from someone that pretty much kept her boxed up. I got it for my mother's day gift. Hopefully, she'll get her shipped today and she'll arrive this week!
I'm wondering what is the price range for the limited editions? (hoping I got a decent price)
Now, I have to figure out what clothing fits her and where to purchase.

I got it on Etsy from a shop called Winking Fairy. I bought a few different hats, but Eloise hasn't seen them yet, so...shhhh...lol

 

It was really hot outside yesterday, so Eloise didn't like playing out there for long.
But I enjoyed grabbing a few quick photos.

Hello! I've been eagerly checking the thread for a reply - I was wondering where everyone was! Yes I think you may be right and the other one is 21. I must admit that I thought they were all girls but I suppose the orange haired one could be a boy. I wonder when we will finally see photos. I'm holding off ordering from Fairyland in the hope of getting a person instead!

 

Oooh I missed those, just saw a corner of something on their Facebook page a couple weeks ago. Looks like 8 and 21 to me too, or at least some version of them. They look very 70s.
