Second-Hand Doll Waiting Room v. 4

I got a shipping notice for a secondhand YoSD boy I've had my eye on for a while and finally bought the other day, and like it always does time seems to stand still while waiting for tracking to update, lol... I need to get out my dolly stuff and find him some shoes to wear.
You would think being in this hobby for so many years the waiting would get easier... NOPE, still as impatient and torturous as ever, haha

I hope everybody gets shipping and confirmation soon, and new dolls arriving in time for/to celebrate the new year!!!

 

I'm signed up for shipping notifications in the US and Australia, so I get multiple versions of the same notice, lol. The doll is in Australia, and EMS has it! WOO!

 

@MaleficentMrsofEvil you must be so relieved! I'm the type to fret about a slow trade too, I'm glad the doll at least finally made it to its new home country lol!

Hi guys just to let you know if you're in UK and buying doll from us use royal mail in the country. I had a doll stuck in local Hermes depot for over 3 weeks before it got delivered and the box looked like it went through a lot. Royal mail delivered 3 days after package cleared customs.

I'm happy and excited to be back in this thread, though, COVID woes continue...

I'm waiting for a special boy I bought second-hand from a seller in Singapore, and the only mail option that wasn't $300 (DHL, FEDEX), was regular Express, which was still incredibly expensive (even compared to what I'm used to paying for 60cm+ full dolls), and the poor guy hasn't moved since he was accepted at the post office more than a week ago ;; Singapore Post has posted about significant delays due to lack of flights, but it's still slightly frustrating I guess, since you never know when there will be an update.

Anyways, I know this is a common issue these days. Just sharing the pain together

 

I recently bought a Volks SDM f-16 from Mandarake. I've been wanting a midi for a while and her faceup looks really cute. I love how sleepy she looks! Right now shipping seems pretty slow, this is the first time I've used EMS since it came back for Japan to US. She's also been sitting at acceptance for about a week now so it will be interesting to see how long it takes for her to arrive.

 

I bought a old Volks doll off of Yahoo Japan, and had her shipped EMS because the service has always been good to me, and when I asked about how long it was taking, I was told a week. Welp my girl has been waiting to board a plane since the 14th. I can't believe how expensive shipping was, and I'm betting it's going to be a month until I get her.

 

@Campion @Thymeseer seems like we're all in the same boat waiting for Volks dolls! I hope they all arrive safely and quickly. Or at least that the tracking updates so we're not all wondering where they could be

Alas, my new Volks boy has been still sitting in Singapore since the 13th, without a single update....I guess he is still waiting for a plane, like most other EMS shipments are. With very little passenger planes flying now, I'm really wondering how long it will take. Singapore Post said from Singapore to the USA via EMS would be 14 days - Then clarified that it is 14 business (M-F) days, no weekends or holidays. And with Lunar New Year now about to start, I am worried about the additional delay.

 

Just bought one of my dream dolls off eBay! A Hujoo Freya in gray skin (the 9 1/2 inch one!) ! She was a bit expensive, but totally worth it! She should be here after my birthday( my bday is Feb 2, and her estimated arrival is Feb 3-7!) so I’ll get her as a late bday gift!!!

 

Just finished paying off my grail doll and her fantasy parts, just waiting for them to ship! I'm elated to see her in person when she gets here and I can assemble her (mostly). Now all I need are the outfit parts, and she'll be as close to original fullset as I can get her.

 

Well now we're sitting at 34 days in transit, and she's finally in the US! Sitting pretty in Los Angeles, hopefully she'll clear customs and whiz to my state soon.

@Insane-Chan @Campion any updates on yours? I'm curious how EMS is going for others.

EDIT 2/24: She's here! I think she's a Nono, and is absolutely filthy and I love her already. She came in an old violin shaped Volks locking case with a badge! Super fancy girl.

 

So exciting to re-enter the waiting room~ I got a gorgeous Muhan's Doll Momo on the Xianyu secondhand market today. I have been wanting one of Muhan's Doll's sculpts for a while, and although Momo wasn't at the top of my list, I couldn't let this gorgeous girl pass me by. I'm so beyond excited to get her, although it will be a long time before she reaches me (I purchased her through a third-party agent.) But that will give me time to gather her wig, eyes, and accessories

Waiting on an ImplDoll Sicily head! She's in the US, just chilling in customs. I wonder if her eyeless stare gave the customs officers the willies.

 

Bit of a late update but it ended up taking about 4 weeks for my SDM f-16 to show up via EMS from Japan to the USA. She's in good condition besides being pretty floppy so now I get to restring a doll for the first time. Also her head is actually pretty big... I have a few 7/8 inch wigs and only one actually fits!

 

After many different attempts to get exactly this doll, it finally worked.
I am now waiting for a Ringdoll - Zhou Yu (Ancient Version) Fullset.

Oh. Emm. Gee. Two grails in as many weeks. Just snagged the FID Iplehouse Isabel head off of marketplace (thank you, thank you, thank you @morganatron ), AND I found an Iplehouse Mari nSID (!!!) on IG. I was saving up to buy new - but pre-loved/owned is so much better.
Having a dance party over here.

I probably won't be here too long as my dolls were shipped from within my country, but I needed a place to post about my excitement!!

I found someone wanting to rehome the DoD DoC Twins!! An antique doll collector had them, and I don't think they had any idea BJDs are not the same thing, so they are in need of some serious TLC. I got them for super cheap since I think they were aware they had messed up with them. However I don't think it's something I can't handle :'D .

Super excited to get them, and I think it'll be a fun project trying to get them back to their former glory

 

Whee! I've been trying to find a Fairyland Pukifee for what feels like ages, and I finally found one up for auction on Ebay (I was careful, she comes with her FL box and CoA!) and WON so now she'll BE HERE FRIDAY!

I knew I was going to get my hands on one eventually so I've had a wig and shoes and things waiting on the sidelines for her

Going to be so pink and frilly. Such softness.

@Pafferton congrats on your new doll! I just picked up an FID Grace from Ebay too (she didn't come with her COA but I was able to verify she was legit in other ways) and she arrived today.



I named her Aine. Waiting on some wigs and a couple of clothes for her, the dress is from Dollmore.

And she's here! And looking at this Fairyland box I suddenly can understand why it's such a big deal that the company is have problems making them. This thing is almost more beautiful then the DOLL XD

 

I've been dithering about her for a little bit (she doesn't have mobility thighs and I want to redo her faceup) but I caved and I now have an FID Doria headed my way.

 

Doria is here. I was worried about not loving her but nope, I definitely do. Still want to redo parts of her faceup (mostly just tone down the very red lip and change the eyebrows) but the mobility is better than I anticipated and I hadn't realised how cute the Iplehouse COA was.

 

I'm waiting on some clothes and a yosd. I love 2nd hand purchases. The yosd is actually going to be a Christmas present for my daughter.

 

The presents arrived! And because I have no self control, I'm waiting for a littlefee face plate... And in a few days I'll be paying for a Pukifee and waiting for probably a month for it to cross the Atlantic. Lol

 

Waiting for a secondhand Myoudoll Feng Linger that was shipped yesterday and MAN I can feel myself wanting to check the tracking every two minutes LOL, I was looking into ordering that lil' baby for months so I was really lucky to find someone selling her, and in the skintone I wanted (coffee) too!! She's all the way in Florida so it'll be a bit until she gets to Canada, but ouuuuuggghhh it's so exciting!

 

Most of the dolls I buy secondhand nowadays are off-topic resins, but currently I am waiting for a Dollzone Big Baby Gumi I found on Ebay. THe idea is that I'll be using her body for an anthro head I have on order, but the more I think about it the more I think I'll be getting her a body of her own. Either way, it's been a while since I've been so eager for a doll to get here. Luckily she's coming from the UK and I am in western Europe, so she should be here in a week or so, customs permitting.

 

I'm waiting for Irrealdoll Nora. I will call her Eleonora. I'm so happy!

 

Currently waiting for a minimee Clamp X Kamui head and my first Unoa quluts lusis.
The head is currently waiting for a dip in the heatwave before shipping to me, I have a luts body waiting for it and unoa is currently in transit from Australia. The unoa is the difficult wait since I wanted one for a long time before I took time away from most of my hobbies and I feel this was a good way to return to the bjd community was to get one of my dream dolls.

 

My minimee has arrived, now I just need to prep and do a faceup and wait around a week for my unoa. Hopefully by then I'll be ready to share a picture

 

My Feng Linger arrived!! What an absolute sweetie, this is the first full BJD I've gotten to hold in my hands (my first BJD ordered will probably still be a little while, I guess that's one really nice thing about the secondhand market, much less of a wait! It's okay though, I think these little elastic-strung guys are worth it LOL)

When it arrived, the box was mysteriously half wet (I don't think it's the seller's fault, something must've happened while it was shipping here OTL) so like, right after taking this I had to go through and dry everything . Luckily, the doll and her clothes seem to have been protected by the carrying case (Incredibly grateful that Myou includes these!!) and COA papers were in a plastic bag, so it seems nothing was harmed (the box is a little discoloured now though). Just in case, I'm going through and seeing what I can clean and disinfect to make sure there's no mold, so I can't play with her as much as I'd like to right now, but GOD she's so cute!!

So...not much of a wait but I've got a Souldoll Lucky coming Friday been pining after this doll for ages, and he'll be my first MSD. Very excited to paint him, and I've definitely been making a verrry long clothing wishlist

 

Waiting for a second hand minifee Woosoo sleeping head and I am so excited! I thought about it for a whole month and spontaneously bought it yesterday. No regrets! Some spa procedures and she will go home

 

I'm back again! This time I'm waiting on two MimoMarina Mikola heads from two different sales. Super excited!

 

Kashuu arrived today and I had much fun dressing him up, to his chagrin lol

 

One of my two Mikola have arrived! I'm so happy to find out it fits perfectly on my Volks SDGr fem body! Which of course was meant for another doll but who can argue! Now to get her color matched and a face up!

 

My first doll arrived a week after my second as he had more distance to travel! (From Japan as opposed to just two provinces over )

Omo-chan whom I’m shelling from Volk’s Date Masamune version 2 is looking the feel I’d like him to in that (Also Volks) Chinese outfit and the unexpectedly complementary glasses! The wig is a temporary stand in crobidoll one until I can get his planned ones customized. Same with the eyes- need a darker green.

 

I am currently waiting on a doll I first saw 14 years ago when she was released. I was looking at various options for my first purchase and after lots of back and forth and authenticity checks I am lucky to have one of my top 5 on the way. A Volks Bianka with everything included from the original release at HDP Kyoto 5 but the outfit. Since I didn't much care for the outfit it is a huge win for me.

 

My girl is on her way I can’t wait.

I bought a miracle doll jing secondhand this past week, and with any luck he'll ship out this week when the seller can make it to the post office! he has a gorgeous faceup as well as jointed hands (something I've not had on a doll before), I'm super excited to welcome him home!

 

On layaway for a Volks SD17 Maximilian secondhand! 3 out of 6 payments so far! I'm so excited, he's one of my grails I haven't had a doll bigger than 60cm for a long time now, so I'm a little nervous.

 

Congratulations! I got my grail Volks doll last week (Bianka) and just ordered supplies, clothes, and a wig to give her a full spa day.

Since she arrived I'm out of this thread for now, but hopefully after my probation time is done and I have marketplace access I can work on obtaining my other other grails that are no longer made.

I just bought my grail body. 38cm 3 part fusion body from Bimong (with a Chuu head rather than Narae, but that's not the end of the world since I was going to hybrid/sculpt my own for the character). Alas, I didn't make the decision soon enough for her to not get caught up in the postal strikes going on so she will not be here for Christmas but I should be able to ring in the new year with her.

I need a stiff drink.

 

Have had update from the seller. She should be with me tomorrow. I am chuffed to bits.
