Sculpts you love (but will probably never get)

CP Breakaway. I loved the pictures so much, I fell completely in love with him. I did not have the chance to get the actual head when they released it first time, however when the 08 event happened I managed to get my hands on a Breakaway head. I was so excited. Everything seemed perfect. But then the doll arrived and I found that it was nothing like what I had expected. I really found no connection what so ever with the doll and I sold it swiftly afterwards.

Even now i love looking at pictures of breakaways, but I will never fall for the same mistake again and purchase one

 

I agree with Soom. They are so beautiful but I don't see myself buying one. There is only one fairyland I would ever buy and it is sold out, so unless i find it secondhand I will most likely never have a fairyland.
I'm actually saving for an Iplehouse girl for my next doll, she'll be the only Iplehouse I'll have.

Angell Studio is another company I love so much but will probably never buy from as they don't fit any character I have. But again that could change lol

 

I would have to pick Soom. As much as I like some of their sculpts, I feel there are too many of one or more of them, and a lot of the time they all look more or less the same. However there are some that are just so breath taking.
But I don't see myself ever wanting to add to the Soom frenzy.

And this is not in any way meant to offend or hurt anyone with a Soom. You guys are all wonderful!

 

Almost any of the men or boy dolls. I love seeing most of them, especially the 1/3 size when they're dressed like pirates and such. But I doubt I'd ever go so far as to buy one.......just continue to envy other peoples.

 

Iplehouse dolls. I like the realism of their features, and at the same time it's the emptiness that I feel when looking at their flawless design that gives me no desire to own one myself. (I did own Kamau, but sold him for that fact: To me, he was too much like an oversized fashion doll)

But then, when I browse the gallery, I often find myself looking at Iplehouse dolls again, because they're so very pretty.

 

I usually fall in love with those EIDs from Iplehouse and Granado boys but omg they're so huge I wouldn't know what to do with them. Such a waste though. Wish they made those in MSD sizes.

 

Irrealdolls and SecretDoll Persons! I absolutely adore them in pictures, but I've never felt the slightest twinge when I saw one for sale.

 

Lillycats that are other than the tinies (I have a Colline), I had a Constantine (msd) but I don't like how they pose. Posing is a big deal for me and even though I adore the Lillycat sculpts and body shape, I can't get passed the bad posing.

It's the same reason why I don't have more Soom faery legend dolls and even sold one before. I only have Noellia because she has dark skin and is the rainbow sprite. I LOVE rainbows and the combination of rainbows and grey or black. I just love the aestetic of the faery legend dolls, but their limited posing makes me not wanting more.

 

Pretty much every SD size doll... They're just too big for my taste. I have two of them I need to sell, and probably put the money toward a minifee or pukifee. I've wanted a minifee Chloe forever.

 

Seconding "every SD sized doll." Especially stuff by Migidoll, Ramcube, and oh my gosh Switch. Makes me wish I had the power to shrink things.

 

All the Iplehouse-Dolls and anime looking Dolls. I think there are more.But don't want to think so hard today xD it's to hot outside.I'm melting.

 

MSD boys and Iplehouse. I have a problem getting MSD boys to look how I want so I prefer too look at them. I love seeing what people can do with them. I have an Iplehouse Soo but she is very frustrating sometimes so I don't think I'll ever add anymore Iplehouse dolls to my collection even if I keep my Soo. But there are so many sculpts on Iplehouse that I love to look at!

 

Luts tiny zebra centaur! I love zebras, and it's so cute!! But I don't do centaurs and most fantasy dolls. And I was trying to get out of that size. So....nope.

 

well, would probably be from a Russian artist: Marina Bychkova made a limited number of resins with changeable eyes, I have no idea what I would do for one of those completely intact but would only kill someone that truly deserved it, lol. But seriously her dolls are unbelievable as well as others: Michael Zajkov has created some jewels. Love Triffani AW kitterlings especially the new feisty one and am disappointed she isn't doing any in resin or with changeable eyes for that sculpt. Her original Sphinx cat was groundbreaking for a whole new jantra of types of cat dolls. Popovy dolls are exquisite.

 

I'd live a 5th Motif Venitu, but I doubt that will ever happen.

 

Oof, probably a Dollmore Trinity Elysia is one that I love but will never have. That's a WHOLE lot of resin, I don't know where she'd live even!(To say nothing of the price point, but it's the size mainly....)

 

Iplehouse Ashanti

 

One doll I know that I won't be getting any time soon is the Doll Chateau Arali. When you get all the bells and whistles with her, she gets to be over $1000 so it's going to take some time to save up for her. Possibly a few years, hopefully she'll still be for sale

 

CP Breakaway. I have loved the mold since I saw it the first time, but when I bought the Bloody Valentine version I was incapable of bonding with it. Even now I still love the mold but it is not one I am going to buy again since I already know that I couldn't bond with it before.

 

A tan Alzad by Leeel. I really would have like to have him.

 

I would love if I had an opportunity to buy Kanguk from Souldoll one day

 

Crobidoll Nameless Yuri. I saw Nameless ver. Tei for sale ages and ages ago. Never seen Yuri though. Crobi has some beautiful sculpts..

 

Gem of Doll's Tsing Hua. I LOVE her but I can't see myself ever getting her. Limited doll, white skin, full body painting. I love to touch and dress my dolls and I wouldn't know what to do with a doll that essentially has to be naked and in a cabinet at all times. There are so many things I need to buy for the dolls I have now, that by the time I ever get around to freeing up expendable income for her, she's going to be long-gone. She's one of my favorite dolls, and not really particularly expensive, but certainly one I should probably never own.

 

Right now, it's a Dollmore Trinity Creme Voler Klaire. Limited of 10. Everything about her is perfect. Her faceup, her clothes... I've been ogling her for so long, but I'm trying VERY hard to not rely on credit cards (that's just a slippery slope you DON'T want to go down), and I have other bills to pay before dolls, so getting the funds together is tricky. Maybe in a year or two when I've got some other bills paid down, I'll be able to manage it (Dollmore does offer a year long layaway, after all), but by that time she might be sold out.

Still, I've learned to never say never in this hobby. A lot of times, it's more like "where there's a will, there's a way". And they don't call me strong-willed for nothing!

 

Definitely Volks Lorina! I think she's absolutely stunning, but being a hard to find doll I've only ever seen her go at high prices. I learned my lesson not to buy expensive dolls that I'm too afraid of damaging to take out anywhere! I would love to have her but I'd be so scared to break her that she would have to be a cabinet baby, and I'm a little more hands-on with the hobby than that. So, I'll just admire her from afar and enjoy seeing other people post their pics of her

 

Iplehouse Bichun and Souldoll Kanguk. I love Bichun but he is too big for me and Kanguk is discontinued

 

I couldn't think of one the other day when I first saw this thread. I was looking on the Souldoll site and came across a Tera Zenith sculpt named Oscal and literally fell in lust! I won't get him because not only is he expensive but he is too big!

 

Doll Chateau Debbie and Caroline, so beautiful but I don't want to imagine how much they would be secondhand if I ever found a listing lol

 

Although I dream of one day finding a reason to get them, I'll probably never get a Doll Chateau Alberta or a Spiritdoll Fragrans/Campsis. I absolutely love them, but I don't bond well with fantasy-like dolls, and the Dolce size is definitely out of my comfort zone and price range.

 

I have always wanted a soom happy and lucky

 

I fell madly in love with some of the Crobidoll boys at a convention this year, but I seriously doubt I will ever get one. Their heads are so small in comparison to my Volks and Dollzone crews.

I'm afraid it may be DoT Tender Shall since DoD's website went down :C I noticed throughout the years she wasn't the most popular, either- so I may never see her on the marketplace!

 

I saw a video on a doll from Popovy Sisters (I think that is what they are called) and their New Body really piqued my interest. But that is in no way or form a close future for me, but its something to look at~

 

FairyLand/Mandrak Moors FeePle60 Sionna. The pictures of this doll are stunning, I'm not sure I'd like my chances of actually finding it anywhere though.

Volks Suigintou. I'm not really sure that I like the other Rozen Maiden dolls that they put out, but I think they got this one right. Amazon has a listing of her for $5800 which is a bit out of my price range. I have all the RM girls as Pullips, so that is some consolation.

 

I love Fifth Motif Venitu. But owners of Venitu do such magical things with him and my skills for assembling a character are not adept enough to do justice to the sculpt. It would break my heart to work so hard to obtain him only to see him never realize his true glory.

 

I would love to own a IOS Infernale, but his body size is so large! I'm not sure I could handle owning a doll that large. Also, I don't know where I would store him.

 

I'm so picky that there are plenty of dolls I really appreciate and can admire, but wouldn't get for myself. Which is, er, a lot of them, actually.
I worry I wouldn't like them much, and since BJDs are a big investment, I only want one I feel would make me happy, and also enough to drop several hundred dollars on.

 

There are SOO Many. But for ones I love to no end that I might never get... I'm starting to think any of the dolls from dollzone... Mainly Pumpkin. I love her, I want her, but I love so many other dolls that come from companies that ship faster... I'm not sure I can take the wait!xD So yeah... as much as I would love to get her, I'm thinking I might always end up going for other amazing little dolls so that I don't have to deal with that wait.

If I'm ever rich and can buy another doll from another faster company at the same time as buying her... then maybe, but I don't think even that would make me ok with the wait. 4 months is sort of my max.

 

A resin Enchanted Doll. Needless to say, one is immensely hard to find and "fairly" expensive, so I will probably never get one, but I can't help admiring these tiny pieces of art.

 

Mostly any doll I like SD-sized or bigger than that as I find them really huge to deal with.
Also there is a couple of MSD-sized sculpts I like but I have no character for them so that's a no.
In Yo-SD or smaller I have a pair of tiny anthros I would love to grab but they are limited and awfully hard to find in the second-hand market at a price I can afford...

 

Ohhhh, the struggle is real. There are so many sculpts I love, but I can't even consider most of them because they're 60cm and larger. I just don't think I can handle dolls of that size, in pretty much every aspect. Where would I get the money? The space to store them? Etc. I'm so in love with the sculpts, but I know I will likely never get them.

 

Most all of the minifee girls for me. A lot of them are really cute and I love seeing how people style them and the pictures they take of them, but I just don't have a real desire to get any of my own. There's also quite a number of really cool looking male dolls that I've seen around that I adore, but I vastly prefer girl dolls and just don't have as much fun dressing up boys and it would be pretty pointless for me to get one since they would just kind of sit there untouched... ._.

 

I also love some Lillycat sculpts, but won't probably ever be getting one.

 

Thiers sooo many lol, probably any iplehouse or doll cheatau doll. They look amazing and i love seeing owner photo's but i dont think i'll ever get one.

 

Literally ANY switch doll.

 

I really want a Volks SDGr Alice but it is limited and difficult to find in the secondhand market. Even if I find one the price would be far far beyond what I can afford (sigh)
I also want a Volks SD Michele, mostly because I have Rigel and I want to get him a companion... but Michele is...again, a limited and super-popular doll just like Alice. I can buy like two other less-popular Volks dolls with the same amount of money. Maybe I can get them if I won a lottery (sigh again)

 

I really love Fairyland Lucywen centaur version!! But it's mostly for her centaur and pegasus wings and not the actual face/body sculpt themselves TuT I'm just a super fan of centaur dolls and hope to get one in the future, but so far none have truly caught my eye; here's hoping!

 

I would do just about anything for a Sarang event head. I want one so badly, but every time I see one for sale in my Facebook group, it's already been snatched up.

 

I like Keiji and the rest of class 80 from IOS, but they are too big and find clothes would be a nightmare.
I also like SOOM idealians, especially Sullivan, hope someday they will reissue it.

 

5th Motif Venitu in copper oriental. Or the next head on the timeless body in copper oriental.
I'd love to do more with the body I already have, but as it is used by 2 heads that have different personalities, it is a no-go at the moment.

 

Well, I responded to this years ago and my tastes have changed so I'm gonna do it again.

Dollstown Hue, Elfdoll Sian, Switch Dojin (sensitive), Soom Cheshire... (See a pattern? I love dolls with teeth...)

There are a couple Zuzu Delfs that I want, but I don't know if I'd ever be able to find them. And some limited Crobi boys (read: Kiefer) that would be perfect for a character but I don't think I'll ever find them. Plus some Dollzone SDs that I think are gorgeous but I probably won't get just because I don't have a reason to have them. Yet.

(Honestly, there are probably a bunch of others that could go here but...I try to be positive and assume I'll have them one day.)

 

dollzone moment and sawarieda come to mind. they're gorgeous but i can't imagine doing anything with them.

 

I was playing with my Unidoll UH13 today and I remembered the beautiful UH-11 sculpt. I regret not getting one.

 

Love the sculpts of the Iplehouse EID guys, but they are too big for me. The SIDs are too young looking.

 

Definitely the spider and Siamese twin DCs. So gorgeous alas would never fit with my family.

 

Volks Victorique... but she's rare and the price of a decent used car so it probably wont happen xD

 

I really love Doll Zone's 29cm Samantha, but I can't handle the extremely long wait times from Doll Zone. Even the 3 month wait from Doll Legend is killing me slowly, so I will never be able to bring myself to buy her unless I suddenly develop a lot more patience than I have currently!

 

I used to be soo obsessed with a Souldoll Juhl, is such a delicate sculpt,
but the only male character I have left to buy has tan skin
and if Souldoll still sell him, they will only have NS or WS for sure :c
