It's been a while since I've posted here. I've been out of the hobby for a while, and then I got one look at The Revenant's ball-jointed hands and I'm back. I've been maining her as my nightfarer and am so emotionally attached that I'm thinking of picking a sculpt as a reward once I have achieved some personal goals. Problem is that I have been out of this hobby for a while. I'm looking to find a female sculpt that is larger, 60cm and above, that suits her face. Photo/character reference here: Revenant My current idea is a Maskcat Doll, maybe Ovillia or Lisette but I'm still looking for more ideas as some companies are no longer around and quite a few companies are new-to-me. I very much appreciate any ideas!
She reminds me of Beyours Pansy or maybe Primrose! But I think Maskcat would also be a good choice. BJD Limited 100 Sets Pansy 60cm Girl Ball-jointed doll - Legenddoll BJD Limited Primrose 60cm Girl Ball-jointed doll - Legenddoll
My first thought was Joydoll's Angel No.2, but it was only available for a limited time, so it might be hard to find.
I do agree that Lisette might be a good option. I think it is important for you to find whichever face best fits your version/idea of what important features there are. Her face does remind me a bit of Souldoll Lena (she's 65 centimeters), but I'm not sure if they are continuing that line anytime soon. There are a couple other faces that are close, but they've been discontinued from the maker previous to the "pause" of this line so I'm not sure I want to mention them. There are also a few SOOM girls that I think would fit the bill (Migma, Amber, and Breccia to name a few) but I know those are harder to obtain as well. Impldoll Imara, at least blank, looks similar to the facial structure. I wish I was more help X.x
With the wide spaced roundish eyes, long straight nose and small roundish mouth she looks a bit similar to Black Cherry Dolls Aishat sculpt: photolink The artist's store is based in Russia but I have seen a few of their sculpts, including this one for sale on the secondary market before. Good luck with your search!
As soon as I saw her trailer I knew someone in this hobby was going to try and build her! One glimpse of those hands and I was saying to my brother "I think she's a BJD or a marionette" and was immediately excited. The problem with Maskcat Lisette, not that it's a problem exactly, is her sculpted vampire teeth. Sure it's easy enough to sand those off, or even just incorporate them into the overall design if you're not going for 100% recreation, but it is a factor you have to consider when trying to shell. Ovilia, to me, seems like a much better fit just because of the longer face and nose compared to Lisette. Valentina is another good choice, as she has the overall expression and thinner lips than you often find with sculpts these days, which tend to lean more towards fuller, juicier pouts (again, nothing wrong with that, but as a thin-lipped person myself, I tend to notice when a sculpt has a mouth more like mine!) Overall, Maskcat's more melancholy style suits the character more, so it was definitely a smart choice to start out with! One other thing to consider is if the jointed hands are what you're after, there are companies that make them for 1/4. If you prefer 1/3 or 1/2 scale, that's totally fine, but if that was the only reason for choosing that size, Gem of Doll makes a lovely pair of 1/4 jointed hands and Cecilia, when blank, has a similar eye and nose shape to Revenant. If you're sold on 1/3, Gem's jointed hands of the same size come in Mousse White, which is said to be similar to Mia White, a common colour offered by many companies, as well as independent artists, so that's something to keep in the back of your mind as well.
Ooh, I like that idea! The closest I can come up with at the moment is either FanFF's Sel (though Esa might also work if you mod her a bit?) or Iplehouse Mari, given a more dour faceup. Maybe AngelStudio Wendy or SOOM Cass? Good luck!
Thank you all so much for these! I will keep everybody up to date on what I end up doing (also apologies for the very late reply to everybody, my life got very busy).
