Scam on Ebay: seller "brandshopping-2008"

Jul 5, 2008

    1. I was just thinking that. There's the same lower waist joint and shoulders.

    2. So the prefix doesn't make sense, but it wouldn't let me leave it blank:/

I was just browsing Ebay when I saw a Souldoll Amy on sale for $190. Supposedly a fullset, sold by someone under the name under.woman: here

They seem to suggest they produce the doll themselves, so I got suspicious and googled the URL on the pics. I found Soul Mate Doll. I can't read it, but the fact that they have both a pic of a Souldoll Amy, a Coco anthro and a body that really looks like one of brandshopping2008's own makings in their shop, and a huge store banner with Iplehouse Tania Pierrot on it, screams "bogus" to me :( I can't read the site (Korean? I find it hard to believe they're affiliated with souldoll or iplehouse, but maybe someone who can read the site can provide some more info?) but I don't trust it. Just a heads up.

Unless I'm completely barking up the wrong tree and this is someone's personal site where they're selling their collection^^;; in which case you can close this thread and call me an idiot.

    3. That is an Amy from Souldoll. This I'm absolutely certain of. She is part of the Souldoll Kids collection and being sold on Souldoll. The pictures are pretty identical...

I think it possibly might be a personal site the cafe thing... But the fact she has copied the text saying how long it takes to make is telling me that she is taking credit for the making of the doll. I mean if your selling your collection why would you put creation times?

Plus Souldoll is an international doll seller. I don't understand why you wouldn't go straight to the site if you wanted to buy that doll...

Mm. My fractured Korean isn't that great. I am not sure.

    4. Sharp eyes--that is the same nude doll photo the previous seller was using. It looks like she's pretending to be Korean now to deflect suspicion.

    5. I am almost sure they are copy company.
However, i've emailed souldoll about this and hope to receive their response soon

    6. Another point. Why would you post pictures used on the Souldoll website? If it was your own collection surely you would have pictures of your doll in a different environment.

Good work Lucyhayashi, hopefully we should get some feedback if this is a scammer and get her posted up here to make sure nobody else gets caught out short.

    7. I saw that last night and very confused, and that person photoshoped the images and put her own text instead.

    8. i saw that as well, and quickly deduced that this looked shady to me. first of all, there are only company pictures, no personal pictures, and the dealer is brand new, they didn't even have a (1) by their name, which indicates that they have neither bought, nor sold anything on ebay, i personally would not take a chance on this doll.

    9. Forgive me because I don't know what templates ebay uses standard anymore, but isn't this the same auction setup as the scammer who sold a frankendolly to somebody here on DoA? I know said scammer changed their format later on but this one is VERY similar to the original one they used.

The auctions are no longer visible, but maybe somebody who remembers viewing the thread could help out. Old thread was about a seller called "brandshopping2008" and the thread is here http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=227060&highlight=brandshopping2008

    10. If it is brandshopping2008 under a different name, beware, beware, beware. Dolls sold by that seller are made of toxic materials and if that isn't enough to put you off, they are bad recasts!

    11. Well, that's definately an AOD body, and I KNOW that's not an AOD head. It's funny because it's listed as "Female body version 2" Which is the same as AOD's but no mention of company that originally made it.

    12. looks like brandshopping2008 to me... just check out this auction....
      link
it's the same weird AOD duplicate body with the Volks-ish head, just like the Frankendolly one the DOA member received who bought a doll from brandshopping2008

    13. that looks like the same head that she has been using, only now it's a girl, instead of a boy.

    14. It looks just like the doll pamdora got when she bought the doll from brandshopping2008.....

    15. :barf Yep, that's the same seller under a new name...looks like she's moved on to stealing Souldoll's photos now. >_<

lucyhayashi -- Did you ever hear anything back from Souldoll?

    16. I can't believe she's using the exact same head she sold pamdora in her listing! :o I certainly hope no one's foolish enough to bid on this....

    17. Oh boy here we go again!!E-bay is really starting to tick me off!!! *writing abusive letter to dumb-ass bootlegger*

    18. interesting. i too would like to know if anyone has info on these.. wonder if they would match bbb resin lol

    19. oh my god !!!!!!

      I see what you mean

I WILL SO NOT BE BUYING FROM THEM !!!!!!

    20. Yeah if it seems to go to be true it almost is too good to be. In this case I think these dolls would be either a very poor quality or a scammer. I've never seen them on the American ebay site which is sort of a bad thing to begin with(and I search that pretty often) Also pretty legit companies on ebay(besides the big ones like soom, luts, volks ect) have some sort of agent or are on DOA if not the company itself. DOA sets these people straight for the most part. If it's considered a ball jointed doll they would be on here getting feedback, letting people know about theyre realeses ect, the fact I've only seen them now worries me and that price is just too good to be true.

Sorry about the long post but I wanted to put my 2 cents in and such.

    21. have contacted this seller to have information on the bodies 1/4 in sale yesterday, to know from what brand was produced, she has responded that it is a new brand that this month will be launched in commerce.according to you they are done seriously with toxic material? 0.0
      i see this doll in a site...but i don't remeber now....

    22. if this is a "fake" doll listing, someone who knows details should contact ebay to have them banned. If they are recasts sold as new that should be disclosed.

    23. Its a shame to see that someone bid on that doll.
Isn't it commonsense to see atleast a few more shots before you bid on anything?

    24. i can not believe they are back at it again :|

    25. Looks like someone did bid on the doll, that's a shame, I hope someone contacts Soul Doll about their photo being used for a auction.

    26. oh my, i'm not sure what to tell you, this dealer has had problems in the past. she has changed her ebay name, and as you can see, she only has one comment in her feedback. if it were me, personally? i would not buy from her.

    27. That's what I'm thinking...I would report it suspicious but I don't on what grounds...

    28. *points* at the other recent thread about seller, where other more informative treads were *pointed* *at*.
      X3

ETA: LOL...all the threads have done the shifty-combine-dance now. :XD:

    29. Good thing you posted this, it can be an extra warning.

Eventually, someone is going to buy those fake dolls...And feel so awful after >_<

Ebay is so irresponsible, they are so greedy just for the fees they get from that ONE seller, and happily cause people to get ripped off. Gah.

    30. Yep, same seller ;_;

    31. That looks like a Volks School A with an AoD body - pamdora got a Volks SD13 Lucas mod with an AoD body copy.

    32. They are even referring to the bodies by AOD's naming scheme; 'SMG-Female Body Version Two.' It doesn't say anything about being from AOD though.
Hah~ ^_^ They are offering a lot of dolls, all of them 1/3 size, but the bodies they are showing are all 1/4 size.
