A elf I ordered in May last year took 4 months, and the cocoa brown Maya I ordered in August took almost 6 months. Both were the larger SD size so maybe the smaller dolls may ship sooner? You can always send a Q&A after 3 months and ask what the shipping date might be.

 

Well ten days have come and gone and no shipping notice. My order still says "pending" on the site as well. Bummer.

 

Boooo, hopefully it's soon! Have 10 business days passed or just 10 days? I have to remind myself sometimes weekends don't count with doll countdowns haha

 

Ten business days exactly today (Monday - Monday). I'm hoping in a day or two I'll get a notice. I'll probably wait until Friday to ask on the Q&A for an update.... here's hoping!

 

@ryuunohime I know a few years ago my Sartoriaj order just appeared at my door, the website still said the order was pending haha. So maybe they did send it out and haven't updated the website yet. Here's hoping!

 

@Wittyilynamed You know, I just went back and checked and I never received a notice for my Eleanor, only when I ordered some shoes separately did I get an email for shipping. Interesting! Maybe she is on the way then.

 

@ryuunohime You inspired me so I reached out with my last layaway payment to see when my Malena might ship. Jay said she just needs her face-up done and should be ready in 2 to 3 weeks! So fingers crossed we both have our Malena's in hand soon!

 

So I ended up asking on the Q&A if Malena had shipped, and Jay told me they needed another 10 days. Originally I wasn't that antsy because I hadn't expected her until June, but now that I've been "teased" I want her now!

(Though I still don't have eyes for her. I didn't get the teal ones because her character is supposed to have lavender, and I've yet to find the RIGHT eyes.)

 

Jay is a very nice person but he can only give estimates so I would suggest for your own peace of mind to give those 10 days a few more. We got to remember that Jay may have control of the resin production, but he has no control on the face ups. That's solely depends on the artists.

Still no shipping notice or arrival for Malena...

But I'm back here because I ordered Camille's outfit (as well as some other things!)

 

Same, I'm crossing my fingers that I receive her at the end of May at this point. I know everyone else has said Sartoriaj averaged 6 months for them but last time I ordered in Nov/Dec it was an 8 month wait.

I'll be done with my layaway for Phillip and Freya at the end of this month, not expecting to see them until July or August

 

Sometimes Sartoriajs selling periods are so strange, I want to put Camilles and Matias outfit on layaway but wanted to wait till my next pay day, but thats the 25th and it stops selling on the 22nd

 

They always start on a Friday, I've noticed that much. I'm not sure how they decide how long to sell, the latest fifth season ones were only like 9 days or something and I know it upset several people it was so short.

Ah yay, congrats!
I just left Jay a message today asking if there was an update on my Malena, so fingers crossed!

 

She's already here!! Five days, that's crazy fast! I took a quick shot with my phone, I will be dressing her in her fullset over the weekend.

 

Ahh she's gorg, congrats!!

 

I get paid at the end of every month, but when I first ordered from SATORIAJ, I mentioned to jay in the q&a board about this and he is okay with me putting an order down then stating in the q&a board to have the first invoice sent on the end of the month.

 

Malena arrived today! I finally got her all dressed and I'll be taking some pictures soon.

I have no quibbles with the doll itself but a little disappointed with the quality of the outfit and a wig I ordered. Nothing huge but just little details that I wish had been fixed.

Overall I'm super pleased!

Not totally sure which eyes I'm gonna use for her and while I love the face up, it may have been wasted money haha. I just love komorebis style so much I can see the subtle differences and its already driving me a little bonkers.

Has anyone here ordered a wig from Sartoriaj for their girls before? The wig in the pics is one I already had and had planned for Malena, but I ordered a black wig to use on another girl and I can't get it on, its too small. I know Sartoriajs heads run smaller but I can't even get it on them! A little annoyed and wondering if its worth bringing up with Jay or if this is just a problem their wigs have.

 

Aren’t they 7-8”? They are considered 1/4 wigs. I have a SJ one that fits a 20cm head nicely.
I really really hate the proxy service photos and just put links to Instagram now. Damn shame.

Yes, SJ wigs are 7-8". So smol.

 

Yeah I know it wouldn't fit some of my iplehouse girls for instance, but I can't get it to stay on my SJ malena, Vittoria or Eleanor, so I feel like this wig may have been accidentally made more on the 7 than the 8 side of the equation.

Sometimes SJ wig are too small for the heads. with some of the smaller wigs I've had to get them wet and try to stretch them to fit the guys head. Tho I made sure they were dry before putting them on them to keep.

The only SJ wig I've bought recently was for the guys...and it fit them.

 

She's gorgeous but I agree she does look different- gorgeous none the less!

I do have a question about their tracking, so I ordered some clothing/wigs and shoes for my incoming girl which I got the shipping email on may 22nd, however the tracking number doesn't work at all. Ems shipping is fast too

 

1st) Your new lady is wonderful!
2nd) I too received a wig from SJ (the long black/blue they offered with Maya) that is small. It fits Maya but I really have to struggle to get it to fit another lady.
3rd) That outfit in the promo photos was on a large bust lady and it looks like you got the smaller bust, so I can see where it's too big in the bust area on your lady. Maybe pull it tight, and put a safety pin/straight pin in the back to tighten it up or. put a few stitches in the back. I've had to do that with a few outfits to make them fit.

 

@susieagent99 I ordered that exact Maya wig, so sounds like maybe it's an issue with that specific wig! Good to know.

Yeah the chest is a little loose but I'm used to that since I always order the smaller chest haha. I'm more disappointed that there's already a lot of fraying fabric in the top and on some of the finished edges. Thanksfully I have some fray check but I need to find a test corner to make sure it doesn't stain the fabric.

@jp_bestie The shipping number appeared 5 days before Jay actually shipped it, I kept checking the number and getting worried that it wasn't updating cause it just said a tracking label was created. But once it was actually delivered to EMS it was basically 5 days of transport, including going through customs, which is a record for me!

 

So glad the wait is over for lots of you! The photos are gorgeous, I love SartoriaJ's face-ups, they're what brought me into the BJD hobby in the first place. But I love seeing what all of you do with the dolls once you have them. So neat how much variety there is in clothing, in wigs and eyes and posing! It's very inspiring for me as a general newb to BJD customization.

Just out of curiosity, if you only order clothes from SartoriaJ in an order, is it a much faster shipping turnaround in general? I'm always less clear on whether clothes are listed when they're in stock, or if they're a preorder--it really seems to vary by maker.

 

My Malena has been shipped! Can't wait for her to come! I'll hopefully have 3 weeks with her before I fly on holiday

@Kaerra I think most of Sartoriaj clothes, definitely the limited and specialty ones, are pre order. They do sometimes have in stock items, but I always order the limited ones so only have experience with that

I just got lucky and purchased a Jude with CoA from another collector who's thinning his collection, so I'll have MSD men's clothes to shop for now, instead of only MSD ladies!

Are any of you eyeing the Wizard of Oz outfits that are upcoming? I'm intrigued by how they did the boots for the Tin Man.

 

Malena reached uk as of yesterday evening, but now the delivery wait begins. I'm hoping she'll be home by Tuesday the latest

Here she is!! So, that's not her wig, and they aren't her eyes but she's here a lot earlier than I expected so she had to make do . I've ordered 3 alpaca wigs so one of those will be hers but it'll be a wait.

So, when I first opened the box I'll admit I was ever so slightly disappointed as I think she looks quite different to her promo pics. Her lips are are pink rather than red. I'm wondering if that's because I have her in rose water and she's in another shade in her promo pics? But it's not just the lips but to me they just look like completely different dolls, like I know they're not and I can see that the eyes are the same shape ect. I'm probably not making much sense she's the same but just feels different. Anyway, I do really like her. I think she's beautiful and I'm glad I got her

 

@Loganberry - Can I ask which resin you got her in? Maybe they adjusted the lip color due to that? But yeah, it looks like maybe they did her eyebrows a bit differently too (assuming it's type A), which can certainly change the impression the face gives. But she's lovely in any case! Hope to see her again when you've got her more complete!

 

@Sianserais she's in rose water and I ordered her with face up D it sort of looks like she got face up D with face up A lips.

I know face ups can"t always replicated 100% but Melissa looks just like her pics and so does Yu.

 

@Loganberry - Oh, that's interesting. Faceup D's lips don't look red on my screen, so I assumed that's not what you ordered, sorry. Definitely not in comparison to Faceup B. (What happened to C, I wonder?) D makes more sense with the shape of the eyebrows, but they and the eyelashes look like they might be darker on your girl than the example. Huh.

@Sianserais you know the more I compare the face ups the more the same they look but she still looks so different to the promotion pics and I don't understand why . Maybe it's the eyes and wig. I do really like her I'm not disappointed anymore. She looks great and fits in with my other girls.

Now I'm trying to figure out who my next girl will be . Hoping that they bring out something awesome for the summer.

 

Eyes can make a huge difference at to the look of a doll....their color and positioning.

 

Meant to update, received my Freya and Philip! Neither has a face-up yet so I didn't take pics but can't wait to get them finished.

 

I just put Jenice on layaway. How does their layaway system work? Do they send me an invoice?

 

You have to put a message on the Q&A bit saying how long you want the layaway for and what date you want to pay each month. Then they'll email you a PayPal invoice each month on the specified date.
