Elf dominic and outfit look so rad!

If only I had the money for him...

 

I am really feeling elf dominic. I know I was super excited for elf jude but ultimately passed on him, but someone elf dominic just calls to me. His look sort of reminds me of Thranduil in the Hobbit movies, like not that the face is similar, but the overall feel of that high king of elves, stoic and beautiful. Plus he's so different from my one other guy in this size and I'm a sucker for variety...

 

Skyealloway, I see what you mean about Thranduil Dominic Elf is great.

I am more tempted by 45 Aphrodite Yvonne this time round though - she is so beautiful!

Does anyone know or remember, was there talk of a different body shape for the 45 girls at some point? I wonder if I should hold off, to get her when a new body comes out? Please note, I'm NOT starting a rumour here! I know nothing! Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I have an inkling there was talk of it a while ago??? I already have two 45 Aph girls on their way (yay!), so would like to keep options open, for variety, etc..

The outfit options are both really beautiful this time, I like the gown and the Dryades set. Glad I did not order yet because the outfits for sure I might also need.

I'm not 100% sold on Luthien. I like her Faceup A option quite a lot and her ears are very nice. I wonder if they will do a new round of elves again next order period and if I should see who it might be....

 

I am so tempted by the new elf Luthien, I just wish I had to money to buy her!

 

@Ashemanu do you have a online gallery for your Luthien? I'm looking for owner photos

 

Not yet. I sent her head to the new face up artist last monday, and as I gathered it will take around two months (hopefully not more) to get her painted. After I get her back I hope I will manage some decent pictures - there are dolls which make it impossible for me to photograph them well. Hopefully she isn´t one of them.

 

Oh ok I understand! I think this is what I am concluding as well.... Sartoriaj faceups are pretty nice but for Luthien I'd rather paint her myself. Not that I have any ideas specifically for her yet!

But seeing that elf jude from the prior order period is "sold out" I don't think I realized the elves where one time releases (or at least not always available).

It may be my single biggest doll purchase ever, but I may buy Dominic and Luthien and a bunch of clothes and such this month!

 

Ok still waffeling over this purchase. For Luthien, I'm torn between peach cream and sonoran beige. I'm sort of surprised sonoran beige is an option because it isn't pictured in the sample of color options. Sonoran beige seems like a good idea because it'll make her different from my other dolls this size, which are generally a pretty pale pink which I imagine is similar to peach cream. But! If I get her in peach cream and the colors are close enough, she might be able to share hands with the other girls!

Dominic I feel sold on Amber Beige.

What do y'all think? Luthien peach cream or Sonoran beige?

(Oh and my other dolls are Creature Doll girls which is a company that went out of business so I have no way to tell if the colors will be close or not. I don't own any fair color Iplehouse FID for reference.)

 

@skyealloway, I would ask them about the Sonoran beige being an option on the female dolls. It seems that they use the peach cream instead of the Sonoran beige for the girls, at least until this offering. I wish you luck on your decision, both shades are very pretty.

 

@skyealloway My Luthien is peach cream, which is really like ns. It´s very nice, I really like the color. I cannot remember if Sonoran beige was offered at the time when I bought it. Even if I probably would not have chosen it due to the additional costs. But if money isn´t an issue I would probably prefer it. It looks really cool, and yellowing isn´t that visible as with the lighter colors.

 

@oriscany that is a good point, maybe sonoran beige as an option is a mistake in the listing.

 

My Elleanor aph in peach cream will ship toward the end of May! I'm excited. I love elf dominic, but generally I budget for one doll per year.

 

Congrats!! @Lelm ! I know what you mean, I'm usually a one mayybbeeee 2 dolls a year person myself. Yet here I am, in May, contemplating dolls 3 and 4 already

There are some great artists I've been following too so I can't even say I'll stop at 4 this year....

I think I'm going to get Amber Beige for both Luthien and Dominic. Sartoriaj instagram has lots of pictures of thier dolls in Amber Beige and the color seems very versatile.

Thank you all! I ordered Dominic with his wonderful Faceup, but I went ahead and ordered Luthien blank. Now I get to think of ideas to paint her while I wait. I really hope I like her in person. I love her SD version but I don't always love the look of the MSD and I'm hoping it's just the Faceup.

Looking at my elves right now, I have a few with a natural Faceup or minimal makeup look. Perhaps Luthien wants a look like Hela (Cate Blanchett in Thor Ragnarok) with dramatic smudgy black eyeliner.... Or maybe shes more of a warrior, with war paint and dirty face...

 

@skyealloway I was surfing through the SartoriaJ site...saw elf Dominic, hmmmmmm'ed at him..... and now I can't wait to see yours! And I can't wait to see how you style your Luthien.So exciting!!

 

How long does an order usually take from Sartoriaj?

 

My Jude took just short of four months.

Speaking of Jude.....I made him a second, shorter wig. Same mohair, same basic style, just half the length....

 

I like him in that wig.

 

I liked the longer one more ... it made him look more wild, untamed.

 

Gosh that's an amazing wig. I like him in both. Thank you for your reply @MB Lilac on the wait time. It's been almost 3 1/2 months since I ordered the first doll and about 3 for the second. I was getting worried. On another thread (Iplehouse large dolls) they were saying that the mail is really backed up in Asia.

 

@Patrice - Thanks. I thought two different wigs in the same colour and basic style would mean more opportunities for different periods.
@Ashemanu - I love the longer one too, but I've been thinking of trying him in different periods, so then he'd need a shorter more fashionable style.
@oriscany - Thanks. As to shipping from Korea, I got a shipping notice from Iplehouse last Thursday, and my doll arrived in less than a week. It only took that long because there was a weekend in there, and our PO doesn't work on weekends. So that was just the normal shipping time for me.

I think I worry most about the shipping in that things could get lost. I wonder why that lady was having so much trouble? I do hope her things arrive soon.

 

Here is the exquisite MSD Serena, lately arrived from Sartoriaj. She wears Elite Doll World 1/3 (not 1/4) boat neck top. It slips on over her hips and her hands go through the sleeves with ease. They don't have any flat shoes for her. I found some cute, affordable shoes from HelenDollClothes on Etsy. And now on to her custom wardrobe...

Have I just not seen these before. Are they another make of doll, or do you think they are a new SartoriaJ project maybe? They are very cute.

@Ashemanu I get so frustrated on days kike that , but your lady looks lovely anyway! Her cheek bones are just so chiseled! Seeing her in all black like that reminds me a bit of Angelina Jolie as Maleficent...which would he a pretty fantastic cosplay outfit for my incoming Luthien! So excited!

 

@skyealloway Thank you! The outfit is from SartoriaJ, actually it´s a sweater with a corset and leather leggins (which fit horribly). But the top with a skirt, that might work!

Sarah is lovely as MSD. Interesting that she has the tongue head option too but they didn't do a photoshoot with it ... I'm not sure I like it anyway in this size.
