JinCincy, Thanks! He is Opal Beige, as I couldn't quite stretch to Sonoran Beige. Opal Beige is a creamy smooth "normal" I'd say. The SJ resin is lovely, isn't it. I need to do comparison pics with FID and RaccoonDoll soon. He has the regular Jarrad51 faceup, which I'm really pleased with, apart from his original eyelash situation. I had some other fine lashes in my eyes stash, so cut them down a bit and he has eyelashes again now - with half the amount of glue his original lashes used! I wonder if he had a trainee do his original ones?

Thanks Ashemanu! I intended for him to be the meaner character in my story, but he actually seems to have a more gentle persona. Hopefully some clothes and a different wig will change all that

Was sent an email notice this morning saying that SJ will be opening up their MSDs for order starting February 1st, and every even month afterwards.

 

Yes, I guess SJ is going to do the same thing Iple is doing with their FID's.

@JinCIncy The wig looks good on him! Too bad the Monique company is retiring, their wigs accompanied me through my whole collector career - these were the wigs that almost always fit!

 

Thanks! Monique has always been my go to too. I have been stocking up on some of my favorite styles. I'm really going to miss Monique!

Ashemanu, I agree about the Monique wigs, they have always been my go-to ones for silkiness and fit, and the lovely highlighted colours especially in the longer ones.

Skyealloway, Aaargh! He looks so great! I am totally out of dolly funds, completely and utterly, so will have to hope someone manages to get him so we can see pictures??

 

@LilyAndRuby - I'm thinking about getting Naomi. I noticed there's an option to choose a Custom faceup. I wonder if that means we can choose one of the faceups they offer on the SD version of Naomi, since she has one I really like.

 

MB Lilac, yes it does indeed! You can choose any of their faceups as a custom option I believe. I am getting Naomi too with her faceup toned down a bit, like one of the SD versions. I wanted her from when I first saw her but I didn't want her makeup to be as dark as the default 45cm option. You just need to message them in Q&A to check they are ok with your choice.

 

I'm curious, for the girls I see options to buy "middle heel" feet and "high heel" feet. But when I look at the shoe options, I see a few specifically labeled for the middle heel but none specifically labeled for the high heel. The high heel feet look very high arched. Which pair of shoes do y'all suppose fits the high heel feet?

 

I am very tempted by these dolls, now did this person used to work for Iplehouse? I LOVE the clothes, they are wonderful for my FIDM Rex.

Oh my gosh so true @Ashemanu and what's funny about that is my husband said oh he's legolas even before they had him posted with his outfit, just based off the head with faceup!

As a girl who saw the premier of return of the king dressed as legolas.....who owned the official legolas barbie....who hung the posted of legolas in her home for many many years....

But I also have questions. What wig is that? What shoes go with that outfit? The wig type doesn't seem to be listed in the description anywhere, and none of the pictures show any shoes at all.

Also, sonora beige?? Dang it now I need to research if I prefer sonora beige or amber beige...

 

I sure wish they would list all accessories used in their promo pics too @skyealloway ! I was really hoping we would get boots in 51cm like they released with their 71cm Elf Jude.

 

If I didn't need a roof over my head and food on the table, I'd just sign my monthly income over to SartoriaJ NOW.. Have you seen Lobelia Elf???? OM goodness

 

Elf Lobelia is luckily not my jam. I don't know what face I wanted but I guess this wasn't it. I really like that wig and the earrings though. Given how nice elf jude's outfit is, I'm a bit disappointed in the girls version. Perhaps I secretly hoped the girls outfit should resemble tauriel from the Hobbit since Jude's reminds me of Legolas. Why no pants??

Ive been buying way too much recently anyway so this is for the best actually. She's a beautiful doll for sure but just not what I envision

 

I was thinking the "dress" needed to be a bit longer too................or they needed to call it a top instead of a dress and add pants. I do like the red dress though.

 

I am definitely safe from buying the Elf Lobelia, I have her bigger version and the little one just doesn’t do it for me.
Her outfit would have been much better if they included pants with the dress/top thing.
I will be buying Elf Jude as soon as I can ~

 

Do the dolls come with eyes or do I have to buy them seperately? If I have to buy them did you pick the small iris ones?

You know it's so hard to pick a resin tone, and it's driving me nuts. Any owner photos of Sonoran Beige with an Amber Beige? Thank you in advance.

 

@oriscany I believe that you have to buy eyes separately, I usually go for small iris eyes.

 

Does anyone know if the APH ladies come with just flat feet, or if they include heeled feet too, like Iplehouse does? I've not been able to figure it out.

I ordered Jude on the first of this month and didn't buy any eyes, thinking that they came with the doll. However, I read on an earlier post to this thread today that one lady said she didn't get any eyes, I was surprised that the eyes didn't come with her doll. So now I'm going to get some eyes. Thank you so much for telling me, and thank you for letting me know to get the small iris ones.

Added: @MB Lilac, I have no clue. I couldn't even find out on the site if the doll came with the eyes or not. I think I'd also ask them about the feet.

 

In the Support Section, it says the APH female comes with flat and heeled feet.

I have just ordered my Elf Jude today! I’m getting him with a custom face up, so I could have a scar.
So now I am waiting for my Aphrodite Yvonne and Athletic Elf Jude~~

 

Great choices! Grats to the new order! Nothing more exciting than to push the buy-button I wonder when the Aphrodite girls will ship - shouldn't be too long now, I guess.

I was searching the site for more info and came across the measurements. That's an odd site, and I have to say I like the idea of putting all the info about the doll on the sales page, but that's not how it done there. I was happy to help.

 

I just ordered a second Jude. I think that they both will be great. I really do wish Jay would tell where the elf wig is from, or better yet sell it on the site.

I keep wondering if you didn't go to Carneige Tech, now called Carneige Mellon to study Costume Design. I have my mother's books on costume from when she went to school there. Your talent really is absolutely amazing. Thank you for showning us.

@Kaname Kimura I didn't leave a message/ question for Jay about the wig. I just wish he would have told us on the propaganda page for the doll where it came from. I could always ask, but I hate to bother him when he's busy making his glorious dolls, and outfits.

@oriscany - I had to go to the ruins gardens for some other doll photos, and thought I'd just bring him along - even though it was extremely cold (-20C windchill) and I felt bad just looking at his bare arms. I'm in Canada, and did go to one of the few Technical Theatre programs here, in hopes of becoming a costume designer, but had to quit after just one year. But, to be honest, it's more fun making what I want for my dolls, than having to do what other people want.
@Patrice S - Thanks. The Ruins also make a great background. I'll have to take him there again another day when it isn't quite so cold.

 

@oriscany A few people have asked about the wig on the Q&A boards, so he may have told people where it came from.

@Kaname Kimura Thank you! The lady arrived today! She was very well packed - and I am in love with the Aphrodite-body! For me it looks just perfect. It´s easy to handle, and she can stand well. The color peach cream is just awesome, it`s not peachy at all, more normal skin. I bought 6mm eyes with a 3mm iris for her - that didn´t turn out too well. Iris size is good, but 6mm is too small. 8mm would fit better for the head. At least her shoes fit well, I got her combat boots for Tonner Matt O`Neill. As clothing I bought her the Black witch outfit with the basic MSD leggins. The top caused no problems, but it was a real fight to get the leggins over her thighs and butt. Consequently she cannot sit well in them. But all in all, I am very happy with her

 

@Ashemanu I’m glad you really like her! It is a shame about the eyes. I think they have changed the peach cream colour as mine is a lot darker than a normal skin tone. I really hope that my Yvonne will ship soon~

I asked Jay if Sarah will come as a MSD too, and he/she said around fall. Which makes me very happy! I would have loved her as a big girl, but I am so totally out of room for big dolls.
