Oh, they're all up and I love them all. Why do the elf ears make them even cooler.

 

I have a layaway question for those of you who have used it. When your have paid for your doll, do they ship them out or do they wait to cast the doll(s) until they are fully paid? I may need one or two elves...

 

I asked that before and I was told that they start work on the dolls as soon as you place the order. I assume you have to finish your layaway before they'll actually ship the dolls but having a layaway won't extend the amount of time it takes for your dolls to be cast.

I had a three month long layaway for my discontinuation sale Jude but I can't comment on whether the layaway actually impacted production time because his production time was exceptionally long anyway.

 

I would have to agree with @Crissaegrim . I use layaway alot; usually 4 months is what I need. All my dolls have come after or way after my layaway has finished. But I would think that they would start producing the dolls as soon as the order period is over (I would think the caster would want to work on one sculpt at a time? Maybe...maybe not?), but not ship the doll until the layaway has concluded.....

 

Mines was finished and ready to be shipped even before I paid layaway. Sartoriaj wrote email for me that I can pay now what left or they can ship doll and I can pay my last payment as I need to pay. I paid straight away my last payment. But its nice that they said that doll could be shipped before last payment.

That's what I was thinking, they would want to produce them all at the same time. Just wondering if it would extend the waiting period beyond the layaway time. I have ordered from them before, but not on layaway.

I just saw a news about elves sales period. Oh my god, charming Jude stolen my heart a year ago and now I have a chance to get him. What am I suppose to do? I already have another layaway

 

I feel you. I have a Jude and I'm wondering if I want another one.

Which reminds me, I need to ask about which faceup is which. The pictures and the faceup selection letters don't match up (pictures are D, E, H and I. Selection letters are A-D)

 

Just one more photo of my Mini-Matias. I can't believe how similar to the big version he is. Truly magnificent kudos to the artists involved! Out of all my Maxi/Mini versions this is by far the most alike of the bunch.

SJ does a great job at downsizing their sculpts.

 

@Bren She looks amazing! Which sculpt is she - I am not recognizing it right now. I love the eyebrows, so expressive!

 

She is a shruken down Silvia. I don't believe I have seen any of her, big or small.

 

@Anita2006 - Thanks so very much. I've had many many years of photography...so just keep at it. Todays cameras make taking good photos so much easier than the ones in the past where you had to do all the settings manually...and know what to do.

@Bren - Thanks! Your Silvia is stunning! I don't think I've seen owner photos of her big or small. She is lovely!

 

Question: when the dolls are shipped out, do they email you to let you know or is it a surprise and it just shows up, like certain companies do, lol!!! My December order still says pending, but I keep checking in case they don't send shipping notices! I would have expected it to be a bit longer but it seems some other people are getting their December orders?

 

Usually I get an email letting me know when the orders have shipped, but for some reason lately it's been hit and miss. Sometimes I would get the email after the order had arrived. Reason why I was surprised with her arrival.

I ordered Matais on the last day of December, and Jay says he's done and ready to ship. Yay, for shorter waits!

 

Mine gets his face up atm and should be ready to ship in the next days. From the posts here I get the feeling that Matias was really popular during his order period

 

My order just updated to Queued for Shipment!!!! So I guess not long know until she ships? So excited!!!

 

Matais arrived today. He is beautifully painted. I also got his wig and eyes. I hope to have a photo soon. Thanks to Jay and his artists for their craftsmanship and attention to detail.

I agree! I find myself very tempted by her in the smaller size.

 

My Matias arrived yesterday, and for the first time with SJ's dolls I'm not impressed at all. I should make him a wig and see if he grows on me, but I'm too disappointed right now to even try.

 

@MB Lilac Oh no! I suppose that happens sometimes. Every photo I've seen of Matias has had me drooling, perhaps he will grow on you!

 

@MB Lilac I am curious about what you don't like about him. Mine should be delivered today.

 

@nancy_schroeder_ca - My guy's beard is way too dark, with thick dark lines, and is a harsh contrast with his Sonoran Beige skin tone. And his lips were a bright, shiny red. Not at all natural looking. Plus he has a line under his right eye that looks like the artist slipped up while painting his lower eye lashes.
@skyealloway - It was his dark brooding look that made me order him in the first place, and mine didn't look like that when he arrived. So I took out my pastels, and there was a colour exactly like his Sonoran Beige resin, which I brushed all over his beard and lips, and that toned the harshness down considerably. His beard looks a lot softer now, and his lips aren't that bright lipstick red anymore either. I haven't sealed the pastel, because I'm terrible with a spray can, and would hate to ruin him.

So there's hope. I sewed him some underwear, and have chosen some dark brown mohair for a wig.

 

O no @MB Lilac. I'm really sorry to hear that. The Sonoran Beige is a lighter tone than the model they used for the pictures, Amber Beige. I wonder if they didn't take into consideration the lighter resin/ skin tone. My guy is the Amber Beige......I need to get a photo of him. I was thinking my guy is a bit light, but I'm still happy with him.

 

I'd love to see the other Matias sculpts out there! I'm sorry some didn't care for theirs.
I was super happy with mine.

 

@MB Lilac I know what you mean about the lips. I guessed from the promo pictures that exactly that could be the case, far too bright in color. That´s why I asked Jay to tone them down, among other things. I hope their face up artist honored my wish. But good tip with the pastels, maybe I will have to do that too! Crossing fingers that you will still start to like him!

 

New guy, Paul, has been released!!!
He's not doing heaps for me with that styling to be honest, but I'd be interested to see him with a different wig and face-up, as I like the blank face. I'm sure others will like him a lot though!

And in other news, my Jenice has shipped, and I think is finally in the country, just waiting for the tracking to update - so not long to go until she's here, aaargh!!! So excited!!!!

 

@morganatron Oh, Jenice, I did not see a lot of her in msd or sd. I have her in SD size and I would say, I love her lovely face. She looks like young woman around 20-25 years no more :-)

As you can see he is lighter than expected, and he does have shiny lips. I didn't really notice them before. I am pleased with him and I think the artist did a wonderful job.

Your Matias looks great! He has a nice light beard, and his lips look good too. Way better than my guy. In fact mine is on his way back to Korea to get redone.

 

My Matias is fine. His teeth are more prominent than I thought they would be. I was expecting to be in love with Matias and just OK with Jenice. But Jenice is gorgeous in person!

 

Well, I did it. I ordered a 51ATH Dominic and a 45APH Juliet. I fell in love with Juliet when she was offered the last time (those ears). I almost pushed the button then. The free shipping and the fact it will be the only time the elves are offered this year got me.

I have loved @MB Lilac ('s) and @skyealloway ('s) Dominics since the first time they shared pics. Now I have to figure out who gets on the chopping block. I really need to crack down on the in and out policy I tried to adopt eons ago. I've been a miserable failure at it.

 

I'm still dithering. I'm a ditherer. Do I want elf Jude, elf Juliet or both?

 

Both! Well, I want both as well, the question is really: can your wallet take it?!

 

@MB Lilac, I'm glad they'll repaint him for you. I hope you didn't have to pay extra.

My guy is the darkest resin (Amber Beige), and in person he looks much darker than that.

 

Well, he got caught at Customs and I had to pay considerable ransom for him, and now another $60+ to send his head back. SIGH. I just hope they mark him as being 'Returned' when they send him back, or I'll get slapped with even more Customs charges.

 

Lol, I feel your pain, I am too. Figured I'd better do it before it's over.

 

@crazybib congrats! I'm very happy with my elf Dominic and elf Juliet, what colors did you get?? Now I feel tempted to take some photos of mine together...

 

I would cry if I had to pay Customs. Seriously, with the way things are going I'm hoping for no more dolls. I love the elves however, I did notice that the gray skin resin was not an option. Plus, I do have the Sonoran Beige Elf Jude already; it all works.

Make sure they show you the faceup before they ship it off to you, and request the return of Item on the shipping.

 

Yes, it's depressing to have to pay all those extra Customs charges. Especially considering our dollar is so low so I already have to pay 30% above the total US price. Throw in the Customs charges and I'm looking at almost a thousand dollars for a doll. So I have to REALLY want it enough to order it. Fortunately it's only been the last two dolls from SJ that got caught at Customs. Before that everything just sailed through. I do have a far less expensive doll coming soon, and I'll see if it gets caught or not.

And Jay did say that they'd send me a photo before they send him.

 

Welp, I bit the bullet on Elf Jude, partially because I had a pretty large shop credit which knocked the price down significantly and also because I've now got an actual storyline for both him and human Jude.

They're twin brothers who were both originally elves but then human Jude got cursed into being a human and they're desperately working to re-elf-ify him. Not sure what world that is or what the storyline is but that's what my brain is saying.

 

I ordered Elf Lobelia to join my other elfs, Jude and Juliet.

 

Question. Did you get charged shipping? Because it said free shipping for all elves but I seem to have been charged it. I've raised it with Jay but I was just wondering.

 

No shipping charge. But it does add the shipping and then give an equal discount.

 

@skyealloway I ordered the warm ivory. I'm hoping it's similar to Iplehouse NS?... I have a Fog Grey Lobelia, she's my only SJ doll so I don't have a basis for comparison. I follow you on Instagram and love all of your elves!

 

Warm Ivory is a pinky white. Peach Cream would be closer to Iplehouse normal.

 

Sartoriaj warm ivory is close/almost the same as Iplehouse white. It is lighter than Iplehouse normal.

 

Their free shipping ended on May 21 South Korea time. It may be that in your date it's the 21st but for them it's the 22th.

No, to me, WI is not like NS. It's very white.

Thank you @Bren, the gorgeous picture is very helpful I thought the SJ peach cream looked like Iple's NS, but also thought it could be closer to Iple's Peach Gold thus the Warm Ivory would be NS?... You just never know how it will show up on monitors. I should have asked you guys first. Oh well, guess my elves will be more ethereal?

 

Jay told me in approx. 1 month they will prepare another 5th Division character. I wonder which size that will be ... very excited about that! And if I am lucky, I will get my Matias today

 

That was it. I didn't think about the time differential. Fortunately Jay's been nice about it and refunded me the shipping.

 

Sartoria is very easy to work with. I think they would change the skin color if you request it very soon!

 

@crazybib You are welcome. PC is a very nice color. here is my Elf Jude in PC tho you can't see his pointed ears. The brunette Original Jude head is a 5/6 size on a Iple PG body.



Lately tho, the PC color is a little more pink.

@crazybib aw thanks! I took a photo of my Dominic and Juliet together - Dominic is Sonoran Beige and Juliet is Warm Ivory. I had an iplehouse normal skin doll (I don't anymore) and like the others are saying, warm ivory is much more um 'magical' looking haha.

Also I agree, SartoriaJ does have excellent customer service
