Grats to your Sarah, she is a beautiful mold! Mine is one of my favorites As for the eye size, it´s a matter of personal preference, I think. For me 8/3 works best, it looks more natural. If you look at the picture of my misty gray Agnes a few posts above, she wears 8/3,5 eyes (from SartoriaJ). But I would have chosen 8/3 if they had been available.

 

I got the Matias and Jenice outfits in the mail! Plus the Matias armor! Omg the Matias set is my favorite of the two for sure! The Jenice set makes me sad...not the set itself, but I told myself I wouldn't buy it without the corset bust, so I messaged SartoriaJ and they let me add it to my order, but but....the color doesn't match my doll! Apparently the amber beige color is very different now than 2 years ago. I love the new color, but is it very different than my doll

@skyealloway I knew that their peach cream had changed, but no idea that their amber beige had as well. Anyway you could post pictures of their differences? I'm sorry that the corset bust doesn't match. But I do understand. I got a MTN body coming in PC that I'm not sure if it will match the doll I intended it for. Makes me wonder if they changed their formula once again.

@Bren this is taken at my kitchen table with my home lights, I can take another photo in natural light if anyone is interested.
some folks on instagram are encouraging me to try dyeing it. I may try airbrushing it since i feel more comfortable with that, but i'm not sure how well it would hold over time. I think first i'll go ahead and put it on her with some clothes to see if I really think its worth the effort to try and color correct.

 

Wow, @skyealloway it almost looks to me like you got a sonoran beige corset bust instead of amber beige. Did you send the pictures to SJ to confirm they have changed the amber beige resin formula? That looks like a huge change to me, and just looking at it the corset really does look like sonoran beige to me instead of amber beige.

When I asked Jay about the color difference, since I was worried about the new MTN body matching who it was intended, and he told me that the MSD would be the color of Demain. FYI. All my previous PC ones ordered has more the color of elf Naomi. (about 4 or 5 of them) So Demian took me by surprise.

I would ask SJ tho about the AB as well. It looks like they have changed their formula if that is indeed Amber Beige that you got on your corset bust

 

i guess ya'll are right, i'll ask SartoriaJ for clarification.

In the meantime, I have a Sonaran Beige doll (from the exact same August 2021 order as my amber beige doll) and this bust piece is not either color

Does anyone have both warm ivory and peach cream dolls they can put side by side?
I haven’t found any good pictures of them together and I am finding hard to figure out which colour would be best for the character I’m thinking of shelling.

My Peach Cream MSD MTN body arrived and it was to replace the APH body of my MDS PC Naomi.

Were you able to get an answer from SJ about a formula change on the AB? From what I can see, it would be more prudent to get all the extra parts together and not expect for skin shades to match later on, unfortunately. I'm also disappointed.

I, too, ordered a Mintonette body for my MSD Naomi in Peach Cream. I was elated when I received the mail this morning about my body being shipped after 8+ months, but now I don't know what to think

Does anybody know if SartoriaJ put any notice about changing the resin tone? I think it's kinda crappy to do this without warning. At the very least, when they started taking orders for Mintonette bodies-only, they should've foreseen that most people were ordering them to use them with their already owned heads in the previous Peach Cream, so they could've at least tried to match those to the old resin tone.

What makes things worse for me is that they don't sell heads only, so I don't even have the option of buying a single head in the new tone to at least cut my losses with this body.

I can only say that this is extremely disappointing, I love their dolls, but if this is how they do business now, off they go to the same category as Dollshe

(Sorry for the rant, I'm just extremely upset about waiting for so long for this body, and it will probably don't match and I won't be able to use it)

 

Maybe try contacting Jay to see if they'd let you buy just a head, since the body is useless to you otherwise. In fact, they should let everyone who ordered just the body, buy a matching colour head - and without the eight month wait.

 

Oh, wow. Those are definitely some color changes! I don't remember seeing anything from SJ about them updating formulas or anything, and I follow them on instagram and all that. I'd be mad too!!

 

@Bren That is not okay.
They need to tell us well they change the formulas, this happened to me once a few years ago when I was buying an extra pair of feet and hands it was super frustrating.

My question about the color of the amber beige changing was never answered. It's all the way on page 4 of the Q and A board now, so it appears I won't be getting an answer.

This is super frustrating, I feel extra frustrated for you guys that got a whole body that now doesn't match anything.

My own doll, I went ahead and put the corset bust on her, mismatches as it was, just to see how I like the shape. Of course I love it . And my son says "why is she yellow" because her new bust makes her face look terrible

I think I can blush the bust and get this to work, but I don't know what I'd do if it was the whole body....

First sorry for the late reply. I checked the photo you left on Q&A board and took some time to check what's going on. Amber Beige color in your photo was so different from our original color and I wanted to check the actual color before answering you.

I have compared the old Amber Beige and the recent Amber Beige skin and in bear eyes, it was a similar color but if you take a picture, it was quite different. New Amber Beige color turned into a red opaque color just like your photo.

Recently we have changed red pigment to a new product. It is from the same company, Smooth on. Until recently we used So Strong but our Korean distributor recommended a new pigment called UVO. He said it is more vivid so the color will be more clear. It is best to keep the urethane resin pure since if we add anything, including a pigment, it will make the color opaque. Since it is from the same company, and the distributor highly recommended it, I didn't think it would be a problem. And until now, I didn't know that it would turn into a totally different color when you take a picture.

We have changed the pigment to the old one right away so skin color will be similar to the original skin from now on."

He is right, in certain rooms of my house, the colors look the same...until I take a picture. I my dining room where I opened the box, the color was different to my eyes. Resin pigment and colors is such a strange science! He also compensated me for the mismatch and I'm a loyal fan of SartoriaJ still

 

I'm so glad to hear that you got a good resolution to the problem with the mismatched torso! Hopefully @Bren does too.

 

Good solution! This is one company that really still values their customers. Normally I say that customer service is dead, but certainly not with SartoriaJ

But I'm a little confused about that in certain rooms they do match. I got to say that I could see, the resin changing color depending on the light and camera on the pic, but you would be able to tell with the naked eye whether they matched or not in person. Wouldn't the doll and torso be consistent with the same color if they are in the same room, everytime? So odd and Very confusing indeed. On my end, the PC shade didn't match no matter where I took the picture from or compared them at. The color are indeed very different both on the doll and on the MTN body.

Yes, SJ customer service is outstanding.

 

@Bren I wonder if Jay reads this board....he sent me another message last night that said they did some testing, and the color appears to react to LED light, with the strongest differences appearing when using a camera phone. This is consistent with what I've been experiencing. My dining room has LED lights, and I use my phone for photos, but my studio has different light bulbs.

He actually thanked me for sending him the picture and bringing the color difference to his attention, otherwise, he wouldn't have known, he said. I feel appreciated

 

With all the recent resin changes going around I was worried about my incoming Peach Cream orders. Today I got my PC Elf Serena(ordered in late July of 2022) and she is so lovely! What a faceup. Kudos to the SJ artists!

I'm naming her Sunnhild...Sunny for short.

Update!

My Mintonette body arrived yesterday, and I'm happy to report that it matches almost perfectly the Peach Cream tone of my doll!

When I first asked for an update to Jay, he said that they were ready to ship my body a couple of weeks before, but they had noticed a problem and had to make another body. When they told me this, I thought it was just an excuse for the delay and I didn't think much of it, but now I'm wondering if the problem was precisely the issues with the resin tone that other users have reported.

Anyway I feel like I should apologize and take back my previous comments, I was being very emotional and making a mountain out of a molehill. The body is gorgeous. Jay if you're reading this, I'm sorry!!! You guys are great!

I wasn't sure if to put him here, or not, since he's a Hybrid.

here is the Original Jude sculpt that was produce as a head only at first. He's on a RD body. I think they worked really well together. This head is smaller size out of the two SJ produce then, and smaller than the Jude heads produced as full dolls later on. He uses 5/6 wigs

He's my Android/Cyborg named Andrew. The dye job was done by shoottheducks, and I think she did a grea job. I just loved how he turned out.

 

I really love the new face up for Lobelia. It makes her look so different. I already have a fog grey Lobelia, but now I am really tempted to get a human one ...

 

I love seeing pictures of the Mintoinette body. It’s so lovely. I have 2 girls coming sometime this year (lol!) with that body. Your girl is so pretty!

SartoriaJ just said on instagram that elves would be on sale from the 5th to the 21st of May - I asked if that was MSD as well as SD and they said yes! Also they said in the comments it would be the only Elves sale this year, but other new dolls in Summer (July). So that’s exciting!!!

Because if the elf Jude is MSD I'm so tempted. Or possibly elf Juliet. Decisions decisions.

I can't believe how similar he looks to the larger version I have. So well done. The faceups SJ are doing are just spectacular at the moment.

 

Congratulations @luluna! Matias (Mishka) is beautifully done. It's hard to believe that the faceup on the mini is a detailed as the larger one. (Someone did say that the original artist for the prototype did the faceup on the Matias dolls.) Is he the Matias or the S Matias head?

I am waiting on Matias with the beard from the December order. I hope he's coming soon. Wonder if @Ashemanu's guy will land first?? lol

 

@oriscany - Thank you! I believe he is just the regular Matias...his mouth is ever so slightly parted...but not as much as the S. Matias, I believe. I have both sculpts in the larger size though...I'm just so thrilled that they all look consistent. I don't know how the artist manages that! I give them kudos for it.
